We loved the wheat sourdough last week and there’s no looking back at the store ones! This bakery is the best thing I found on a random day when we were craving for some bread but didn’t want to go too far to buy it and landed upon this place, tried it and will keep going here for their daily freshly baked bread 🥖😀

Hidden gem in plain sight. The best local bakery around hidden right on broad street. Wide selection of bread at reasonable prices. They do sell sandwiches and a small amount of sweet bakery desserts.

Staff was very quick with my order, and very pleasant. The rolls were super fresh and made the sandwiches taste so good.

Finally getting in to check this place out. It's a cozy place. Everything looks great. Reasonably priced. The sourdough bread is delicious.

Consistently great quality. Always a pleasure to go in, the people who work there are awesome. Cranberry dinner rolls are constantly in danger of being eaten in the car on the way home. Raisin bread is devilishly soft and moist. The pastries are constantly calling my name (and winning). I always wind up leaving with something new. The loaves are also very well priced and will be making an appearance on my holiday meal tables going forward. Thanks to the staff that have been extra helpful or generous - you all rock.

Passed this place a bunch and never went in, big mistake! Everything was amazing! The bread is DELICIOUS, the meat was fresh, and the sandwiches are creative. It's my new local fav!

Wonderful little spot for some great baked goods! Breads are made fresh daily and taste delicious! The lovely woman behind the counter gave us some free dinner rolls to try the different kinds of bread. Definitely will return for more. Prices were very reasonable as well!

Just fell across this fine place today, while picking up sandwiches for my wife and me. Great food, prompt service and excellent prices. Highly recommend! Update 2025-04-29: Best. Turkey. Sandwich. EVER!!! And those spinach danish? Those are mine - all of them!

This was the first time that I had stopped in at the bakery. I was planning just to get some rye bread, but the sandwich board caught my eye. I decided to order a roast beef and horseradish Panini and it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Definitely would go back to try all of their other items.

Hearth Baker on North Broad Street, Lansdale, PA, knows from flour and water. Bread is their game, and they play it well. The shop space was smaller than expected. The left wall was full of wooden racks loaded with beautiful loaves of bread. They were large and extremely tempting. As I was there 30 minutes before closing, they didn't have a full panoply of their creations, but still enough to satisfy me. One of the women behind the counters attended to me, advising what was still available. She first mentioned a half load of sliced rye, which I immediately said, "yes," to. The aroma was strong and I knew I would love it toasted with butter and jam. She next suggested their dinner rolls, of which she bagged a dozen mixed grains, but only charged me for six. She knew what she wanted to sell while fresh, and which would have longer shelf life until the next day. I also grabbed a few large peanut butter cookies to sample later with coffee. Hearth Baker had no pastry, so I wasn't distracted by cakes, pies or other sweet possibilities. I didn't see those sandwiches mentioned by others, but anything stuffed between their bread/rolls would have to be great. What I did buy was excellent. The rye had a slightly sweet, yet grainy savoriness that was delicious, both fresh and toasted. Perfect for sandwiches or accompanying soup. The rolls were also quite good, with semolina and other light/dark flours to modify their flavors. Also terrific just sliced and buttered and ripped apart by my incisors. Those peanut butter cookies were also awesome. A little crisp on the edges, yet chewy toward the middle. Plenty of PB taste. The Hearth Baker would be a great place to learn the artisan craft of baking breads.

I ordered the steak rolls for a party, and they were absolutely delicious. They made our mini cheesesteaks a hit. I will be ordering from them again. It was super easy to place the order, you can order in advance.

Every bread or item I've purchased here has been delicious. My grandmother used to drive an hour to go to this bakery so I'm glad I can go often. Love the rolls, sourdough, and pumpernickel swirl breads the most. Tomato pie is excellent. I always try to get something new when I go. Staff is great. Highly recommend if you're looking for a local shop!

Wow I've driven by this place a million times and I've never stopped in. What a huge mistake. I ordered DoorDash delivery and I got an egg salad hoagie, rolls, a loaf, Mac salad and cole slaw. Everything is so goddamn good. The rolls are so fresh and chewy and the prices were very reasonable. Definitely go here ASAP!!!

Staff is always so friendly. Obviously the bread and dinner rolls are amazing, but they also have the best sandwiches in the area.

I recently discovered the HEARTH BAKER Home Made Chocolate Chip Cookies. This is my "GO-TO" place for the BEST Rye Bread, BEST Italian Hoagies, as well as the BEST Tuna Salad. I needed to leave a 5-STAR Review after recently enjoying the FRESHEST soft & chewy cookies EVER, and to let everyone know they NEED to try these! The Hearth has become our new sandwich place, and now, for home-baked cookies. As I waited for my order to be bagged, I noticed Chocolate Chip Cookies on a table. They were LARGE, home-made, and I couldn't miss the GIANT CHUNKS of chocolate chips throughout these cookies. Knowing The Hearth never disappoints, I bought the 1/2 dozen size, so I didn't need to run back later (For MORE) after trying these. Good choice! They lasted a few short minutes. These cookies were more enjoyable than they looked, and trust me, they looked fantastic. The Hearth is now my "Go-To" COOKIE vendor!

Stopped by here while visiting from out of town. 10/10! Super friendly people and delicious sandwiches and breads! I wish we had something like this near us.

I love freshly baked rye bread but I am reluctant to buy my bread here. Should I buy here or not? Their bread quality is very inconsistent and ranges from excellent to poor. I never know if my bread is good or bad. The rye bread often is very light in color, absolutely flavorless (Am I chewing on cotton?) and has large air bubbles in the center so that one can't even spread butter on it. At other times the bread is perfect. It is dense, dark and tasty as rye bread should be. This bakery definitely needs to improve their quality control.

As far as Bread goes. you don't get much better than this. Everything is professionally done and expertly crafted. The rye bread is specially made so that the seeds are ground into the Loaf. It has a phenomenal smell. The steak rolls were absolutely perfect and you will not find any like this anywhere else. The same is true with the raisin cinnamon bread. It's not bread, it's not cake, it's the most amazing insidious cinnamon flavored treats you've ever had. You don't need butter. Go Here. you'll be glad you did.

The hoagies and tomato pie were a huge hit at a recent party. A kind, helpful staff and delicious bread! Highly recommend!

I love this place. The people are always nice, the bread, the rolls the pies and cookies are so FRESH and tastyand then you have the hoagies, sandwiches, salads, the list just goes on....all so wonderful. If you haven't been here, give them a try. If you had a bad experience a year ago, go back new counter staff that is fabulous!

Bread is ok but the service is the reason I took my business elsewhere. Mind you, I own a sandwich shop & was picking up big orders weekly only to be treated like dirt every, single, time. In particularly the girl w/ the red hair. Every time I came in I had to prove I owned a shop even though I just saw her 7 days prior & so on for 8weeks. Sorry I go to baker st now.

We didn't even get a chance to order from here for our office luncheon. I had eaten there and thought very highly of it but was disappointed with what happened when my office wanted to order. I called to find out when the website would be back up and a young women answered sounded disinterested in finding out for me to order and told me to call back to get the menu faxed because she couldn't do that for me that day when I called. I called the next day at 10 ish to get the menu and it was faxed. Half of it was cut off and a note was written on it that prices may change anytime so what we read could be different ? Why wouldn't you send updated prices on a menu? Very disorganized for a small place that I thought had good food.

The only complaint I have with this place is that they do not insist on you buying more. Best baked products in Lansdale!

Delicious... freshly baked baguettes and loose rolls. Makes any sandwich taste good and even eating but itself is delicious.

This place has the best breads. We've been coming here for years all there bread is fresh and great.

Don't dare get there early! I'm from Virginia and this place was recommended by my family I arrived at 8:30 am and assumed they were open 1st of all because it's a BAKERY and because their front door was wide open! Well their owner along with 3 other employees told me I had to come back at 9am since technically they weren't open yet and YES this was verbalized with the nasty attitudes that from what I understand is their MO Never again for me or my family!

Just had a freshly made egg, bacon and cheese sandwich on pumpernickel swirl and it was delicious.

Awful woman behind the counter - Heidi. Extremely rude to her staff and to us. We walked out before we could even finish giving her our order. They've lost us as customers. Hopefully there aren't other customers out there that tolerate that kind of "service"

Hearth Baker has become my go to! The football rolls are perfect for hosting parties. We usually buy a few dozen and then freeze the rest. They thaw perfectly! Everyone always loves our Hearth Baker rolls! Plus the staff is always very friendly and welcoming. Great place!

Put simply, it's hard to top the Italian bread that comes out of the ovens in this place. Their rustic Italian loaves and the steak rolls are simply amazing; for me, at least, sandwiches with Hearth Baker bread are still the golden standard to which all sandwich breads must be compared, and virtually all of them come up lacking in some way. They also happen to be dirt-cheap and Hearth produces truly huge numbers of six-inch steak rolls each day, so they're an absolute necessity for the self-catered party. I'll admit to having found better specialty breads in other places; Hearth doesn't even try to make things like pie bread, and the best rye in the area is still in the city, but with that caveat, Hearth is one of the best bakers in the region, and possibly THE best Italian baker anywhere outside the Italian Market itself.

Lovely service and friendly employees! The bread is made from the Hearth and HEART. My boyfriend and I were SOLD on the pepperoni bread that made a great addition to our charcuterie spread.

I've been going to the Hearth Baker since I was a kid and continue going there for their amazing bread, rolls, and sandwiches. Their sourdough is to die for! Whenever we're making food that requires good bread I'm headed to the Hearth. I used to work close by and would go there for lunch once a week. I miss that greatly. Their deli sandwiches and hoagies are awesome! So do yourself a favor and stop buying that grocery store bread that's shipped in frozen and baked at the store and go to the Hearth and get real bread! You won't be disappointed!

The bread is fresh and worth every penny. Just tried a Reuben panini which was outstanding--monster sandwich and a slice of heavenly sloppy deliciousness! Of course the fresh rye bread always makes the sandwich! Get the word out and patronize this business it is a secret gem off Broad street glad they are local to me!

Absolutely amazing place and probably the best bread I have ever had. So much better than Amoroso or anything like that. The staff that works here is incredibly friendly. An absolute must go to place.

OK..the miserable girl "Luz" at the counter is gone (knew she wouldn't last) ! The 2 young women at the counter now are lovely and a pleasure to do business with.. Giving credit where credit is due !

The Italian hoagies here are absolutely amazing! Very friendly people running the counter as well! Would and will definitely recommend people come here for a sandwich and some bread!

Great product, however the staff is not hygienic at all. I have seen staff putting food in their mouth as they are servicing customers, also they will handle the register touch money and then go ahead with touching food that they sell. Absolutelly gross and unacceptable! Stay away

This is a tough review. On one hand, the hoagies that they make here are so delicious. Honestly, it pains me a little not to go there, but the staff is always so rude! Seriously, the hoagies are never ready when they say that they will be, and if you question how long it's taking, you get an instant attitude. I can't subject myself to that kind of torture, no matter how good the hoagie is. I'll stick to Wawa; at least they smile there.

The old lady with the blonde ponytail had such a depressed ora when she finally came to the register to take my order she was so snarky and rude she made it so hard to order from her I had to walk out and go somewhere else to get lunch. My advice to the owner, get her off register! she'll run patrons away and put you out of business.

Love, love, love the hearth Baker and deli. Delicious selection of bread and rolls. Amazingly addictive pepperoni bread and tasty hoagies always have me coming back for more!

I can't believe my good luck finding this place yesterday. I had an Italian hoagie that was excellent. The roll was perfect and the ingredients delicious. A combination that can't be beat. On top of that I brought home a loaf of their raisin cinnamon bread. My wife and I loved it. Never again will we purchase that mass produced raisin bread sold in grocery stores. Can't wait to try some of their other items on my next trip.

Can I just say wow?! Those if you who know me understand I'm hard to please. This place is awesome! I came for lunch and ordered stuffed pepper soup.. I must immediately make this at home. It was fantastic! To add to that, I ordered a Ruben panini. Well, first of all it was huge, I mean huge! Most importantly, it was fantastic. Yup it really was. While a bit missed named as it's more like a corned beef special, it was so good I went and got it again the next day. I ate Rubens for lunch for 4 days with left overs. Um, yeah, go here.

It's hard to find a better Italian hoagie in Lansdale. All the ingredients are fresh, and the bread, ugh, the bread is delicious. I can't even think of anything else to say, just get the Italian hoagie.

They have the best dinner rolls I've ever eaten. Even several top-rated local restaurants purchase rolls from he Hearth Baker. The hoagie rolls, Rye bread, and Farm Italian are second to none. For lunch, go with the mini Italian hoagie . . . You'll be glad you did!

How can a business not have a web site, hours?? Called, phone rang with no answering machine for open hours.

I applied for a job opening which was posted on Craigslist , and although I had deli and bread baking experience was not hired. I felt I was a victim of age discrimination, being over 60 years old. The next time he advertised on Craigslist, he specified you must live within 10 minutes of the shop. Since I was about 20 minutes away, it strengthened my belief I had been discriminated against
