"Situated on busy Bay Street, rustic-styled Hearth Wood Fired Pizza is where unique and classic pizzas reign supreme. With its stunning red domed Marra Forni brick oven taking center stage, pizza faves include the margherita and the ‘Shroomage. There are also interesting starters (like the meat and cheese board), salads, sandwiches (the Italian Hero is seriously stuffed) and pastas, like the wood-fired lasagna. Hearth’s impressive beer and wine offerings make for easy pairings." - Lynn and Cele Seldon

Not only was the food excellent (and plentiful), but the prices were great. Yuengling bottle -$4, 16oz PBR - $3 .... and these were regular prices, not Happy Hour. If I was our server I would have gotten a pissy attitude, we were terrible! But our waitress, ALI, was the best!! A big shout out to her ...

Hearth has never disappointed! As a Hawaiian pizza lover I was incredibly impressed with their version of Hawaiian pizza consisting of pineapple, bacon, and jalapeños. The sauce is so flavorful and the crust is always crispy and delicious. The mozzarella sticks are phenomenal as well! Hearth is a little gem tucked away in Historic downtown Beaufort.

Our first (and last) visit here, on the First Friday in April. We put our names in and were told 45 minutes wait. Fine, we walked around some shops. Came back in 45 minutes, we're told they were waiting for some tables to open up. Maybe 15 more minutes. So, over an hour later, we were finally seated (after we asked twice more about wait time). Server came pretty quickly, took our drink order, finally brought them back (no straws, we had to ask), and took our order (Caprese salad and a Margherita pizza). The "salad" came and consisted of 4 slices of tomato with cheese, and some herbs/oil, no greens, ($9). We waited for our pizza to begin eating, and a server finally brought it. No silverware to eat with, so we had to stop another server to ask for that too. The pizza was, honestly, the worst pizza we've ever had. The edge was alternately burned or underdone while the main part of the pizza was nearly raw and limp. I'm not sure who these people are that claim the crust is crispy throughout, but ours was not. The sauce lacked any flavor, and seemed very much like a canned tomato sauce with no herbs or other flavoring. Very disappointed! We could have saved $30 and bought a frozen pizza and cooked it at home and it would have been 100% better. And while we sat waiting for our order, we noticed the large "painting" hanging on the wall, full of dust like it had been dragged under a bed. Same for the brick oven and it's chimney; filthy and dusty and shameful. Not really sure how the board of health lets them operate with such unsanitary conditions in the restaurant. Pics will give you an idea. Save your$ and eat elsewhere!

Un-cooked pizza, purely raw dough. I showed it to the staff, and all they did was throw our partially eaten pie back in the oven until the edges were burned to a crisp but the bottom dough still raw. We had to eat the topping and leave the inedible raw dough (see picture). At a minimum, a pizza restaurant should know how to properly cook pizza. In addition, our waitress was nowhere to be seen after we placed our order. I do not understand how this place gets such good reviews.

Great spot for pizza and drinks. The ‘shroomage pizza & the meat pizza were great! I would recommend Nancy’s antipasto salad for a side/appetizer. The pizzas did come out before the appetizers, but the service was great overall.

We LOVE Hearth! The food is consistently delicious and reliable and the service excellent. We always get the garlic cheese bread and the BBQ Chicken pizza. Food arrives quickly and very hot. This place is busy, and that’s because it serves some of the best food in the area. Don’t miss this place!!

I grew up in the north, but have been living in the south for years. My firm belief is that pizza and tacos share an inverse relationship. The further north you go, the better the pizza, the worst the tacos and vise versa as you go south. Being in South Carolina, you kind of get the average of both. Until I came here. Hearth Wood Fired Pizza is the best Pizza I have had anywhere south of Illinois. Amazing options, ingredients, and service. Lilly S. was 5/5 on top of everything and nailed ever step of service. Couldn't be more impressed. My only suggestion is to throw a giant ruler behind the pizza oven for guests to see how high the staff can through the pizza dough and still catch it. Maybe have an annual pizza toss contest for guests to win a free pie as well. But I digress. Great atmosphere, live music, comfortable, and everyone was super friendly and professional. Worth making a trip to come check it out.

First time here. It was a really great experience. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was very enjoyable. We got appetizers wings, cheese bread, and cheese sticks. We also got pizzas meat, combination, mushroom/pepperoni, and margarita. Everything was great. Will return.
