"With black sesame seeds ground non-stop by the two stone mills at the door, you can tell what this shop is famous for – sweet black sesame soup, ice cream, pudding… and black sesame rolls prized for their intense flavour and chewy texture." - Michelin Inspector

One of the best Black sesame ice cream ever tried in my life, worth to wait for about 15 mins during the weekday afternoon. After tasting the ice cream, you will not be surprised that there is always a long queue next to the shop. Let me describe a bit more about it, the taste and texture is very rich and long lasting, it just like have a great tea or coffee, taking you to the zone of after taste. For the other products, I guess that you will be disappointed if you have so much expectations on it. 100% recommended: 🍦 🍦 🍦 🍦

Heartwarming 暖心芝作 is the place to go if you love black sesame done properly. The moment you step in, you can tell they take sesame seriously—there are so many choices, from classic favorites to creative twists, and everything feels thoughtfully made rather than mass-produced. The highlight for me is absolutely their black sesame ice cream. It’s rich and fragrant with that deep roasted sesame aroma, but still smooth and balanced—nutty, slightly toasty, and not overly sweet. You get a real “sesame punch” without it becoming heavy, and the texture is creamy in a way that makes you want to keep taking “one more bite.” What I also love is how wide the product range is. Whether you’re grabbing a quick dessert, picking up snacks to bring home, or buying gifts, you’ll find something that fits. It’s the kind of shop where you start with one item and end up leaving with a few more because everything looks (and tastes) too good to pass up. If you’re a black sesame fan, Heartwarming 暖心芝作 is honestly a must-try—tasty, comforting, and memorable.

If you love black sesame desserts this is place to go and it’s a Michelin bib! Firstly the black sesame ice-cream is absolutely succulent, very nutty and you can taste that it’s made with very high quality ingredients. I was not super impressed by the black sesame rice roll. A must buy to bring home is the black sesame seeds balls. Buy a box the balls are so delicious. It’s made of back sesame, black beans, black rice, black mulberries walnut, honey (using black sesame). So addictive! Yes you might have to wait a bit to get their desserts but it’s very worth the wait.

I’m absolutely obsessed with their black sesame ice cream — it’s rich, nutty, and perfectly creamy. Every time I pass by, I feel tempted to stop and grab one, and this time I finally gave in again… and it was just as amazing as I remembered 😍 What made this visit even more special was discovering their black sesame paste. I bought a jar to try at home and ended up getting more for my family — they loved it just as much as I did! It’s smooth, fragrant, and full of deep roasted flavor — perfect for spreading on toast, mixing into desserts, or even just enjoying by the spoonful. The staff were friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely be coming back again — not just for the ice cream, but to explore more of their sesame-based treats. It’s become one of my favorite little indulgences in the neighborhood!

I was super excited to try this place after seeing so many people raving online that it’s the best black sesame ice cream they’ve ever had—and honestly, I have to agree! The black sesame flavor is incredibly intense and authentic. You can smell it even just walking past! If you’re a true sesame lover, this will absolutely blow you away. The soft serve itself tastes fantastic and has a m thick and creamy texture. Just a heads-up: it gets messy! Your mouth will end up covered in that black sesame goodness, so definitely bring tissues or wipes. The queue looked long when we arrived, but it moved surprisingly fast—we only waited about 10-15 minutes max. Totally worth it. Can’t wait to go back and try their 芝麻湖 next time! Highly recommend for any black sesame fan🖤

Visited 3 times during hols. Saw the hype about this place on Instagram and it deserves the recognition. Must be a black sesame fan. 1st visit around 12pm. There were only 2 people in front of me. Ordered the ice cream but the black sesame rolls weren't ready till 1pm. Slightly gutted, the ice cream made up for the disappointment. It definitely has the black sesame taste with just the right amount of sweetness then you get the earthy aftertaste of the black sesame. The friendly young lady who served me was very generous with the black sesame syrup (delicious) which eventually dripped down to my hand... Doh. Remember to get paper discs on the counter. 5/5 2nd visit-same day around 2pm. Walked to Sham shui po but shop wasn't open till later. Walked back to get another ice cream + kill time. Long queue greeted me. Waited 15mins. Server remembered me and gave me the black sesame rolls, got another ice cream with paper disc😎 and a bottle of sugar free black sesame soy milk. Black sesame rolls are a must buy as well. My mum says it's too bitter it needs sugar and she's a diabetic. It's fine for me as you can taste the milled texture and taste of black sesame. In comparison, Ma Ma long pastry (Jordan) their rolls have the right balance of sweetness + sesame taste but if you want the full on black sesame taste... Heartwarming is the one👌5/5 Black sesame soy milk. I don't mind sugar free as you definitely taste the black sesame. I'd recommend you get the sugar versions for 1 time. 4/5 Last visit around 12pm boxing day. Took bro to sample ice cream. Already 10 min queue awaited us. We both got an ice cream and I bought 2 jars of black sesame paste as recommended by other reviewers. 110 dollars for two. Bro gave ice cream 4/5 Taste of ice cream is the same as previous visits 👍 and the waffle cones are crispy😋 The service was friendly on all visits but I would recommend they try to have another server instead of just the one to keep the waiting times shorter. I will update and see how the sesame paste fairs the east meets west tastes with UK food combinations 🇬🇧🤔

If you love black sesame you have to come here and try their products. It's my first time trying their soft serve and it tastes SO GOOD. I always stock up on their black sesame snacks too. If you're coming here you might want to come here earlier though (e.g. before 1pm), or else do expect a long queue almost all the time!
