This has become a regular for my roommate and me when we want a hearty meal and fixing of Cajun food. Service is always great, portions are generous, decor is fun and festive (especially their wall of hot sauces), and there is so much seating room that I've never had to wait. I get the etouffee of the day (side portion is enough) and my roommate gets the catfish, collared greens, and rice & beans. All are delicious! You HAVE to pair your meal with the jalapeno cheddar corn muffin with their sweet honey butter too!

I liked it a lot though it is a bit pricey. I took my boyfriend there for a date since he's a fan of spicy food. The gumbo was really tasty with some kick to it. The fried green tomatoes were at the right stage of green with amazing flavor. My entree of fried catfish was good with the fish itself being flaky and moist and not having the muddy flavor catfish can have sometimes. My boyfriend's Cajun stir fry was was tasty but not spicy enough for his palate. We'll have to go back so he can get the "Hot as a Mutha" dish you need to sign a waiver for. Our server was wonderful and I highly recommend this restaurant.

The buffet is absolutely with the money, I can not praise it enough for both the value and quality of foods. Having never really eaten this type of food, I instantly fell in love with it. The flavor is rich and I'm sure it's very fatty, hence why it's soo good. Get the gumbo or the jumbolya for shrimp fans otherwise the mashed potatoes, gravy, and fried chicken/catfish will certainly fill you up. I look forward to coming back to Chicago for this bowl of heavenly gumbo! Great service, inciting atmosphere. This place is a must see.

Pretty good cajun food, pretty place, pretty pricey. The centrally located Seven on Heaven offers a wide variety of cajun fare, from gumbo to shrimp to chicken burgers, they have it all. The place is really nicely done up, from the moment you enter, you'll feel like you've been transported and immersed in the cajun culture. It certainly does get you in the mood for the good food that is to come. I had the sliders, which were pretty small for their price. But they do pack a punch. Each bite was better than the last and the flavours just kept on coming. I particularly liked the shrimp slider, crispy and juicy at the same time. I also had some fried chicken and it was pretty much the same story, crispy, juicy and full of spices. It was a delight to eat. They handle large groups well, saw a lot of big tables filled up when I was there. The service was pretty prompt as well. I know this place is known for its gumbo and I'll have to try that the next time I visit.

If you have a taste for authentic New Orleans style cajun food then you will thoroughly Heaven on Seven located by North Michigan Avenue in Chicago. The jambalaya is fantastic and the drinks are also great. The wait staff is always friendly and courteous.

There aren't a lot of high profile Cajun places in Chicago so when I found out about Heaven on Seven I was pretty excited. From what I heard it was a great place to bring a group of friends who enjoy food from New Orleans and I heard correct. 4 of us came in and the atmosphere was a perfect fit for having a good time. A ton of people, great food (and smells from the food), and a huge variety of spices to add into your meal. My personal preference here are the Po'boys. Though the Etouffee of the Day is usually great and most of the shrimp dishes (I'm a huge fan of shrimp) are exactly what you would want from a Cajun joint.

My favorite place in Chicago. The correct answer is always Gumbo. And for drinks you cannot go wrong with the Cajun Iced Tea. It really gets the job done. I really like the enchiladas and the mini poboys are great.

Went for breakfast. The decor was great for a cajun restaurant. I had their crab cakes and my girlfriend got the eggs benedict and they were both great. Only issue with this place is that it is cash only, so make sure that you bring cash with you or you will have to pay ATM fees.
