Really tasty food for reasonable price! Everything was pretty much spot on besides the AC being turned up a little too much. Fried pickles, tomatoes & gumbo were all great. I would like to try the dessert next time. Come hungry and bring cash. (ATM available in restaurant)

We went there on Tuesday for a late lunch. No wait got right in. It was a cold rainy day so we craved for hot gumbo. It was located on the seventh floor in a business-looking building so we would’ve never expected there is a restaurant in the middle floor. We had to ask around where the restaurant is located and then we learned that we need to take the elevator up to 7th floor. Ambience is pretty cool. Southern decor resembling Louisiana I assume. Service was outstanding. We had some questions on the menu and the server was friendly and explained all the questions we had. A lot of seasonings on the table for your customizable experience. We ordered the famous Nashville hot chicken, jalapeno corn muffin, and a bowl of gumbo. The chicken dish was really hot and the muffin helped a lot. The hot chicken was not on the regular menu, it was written on the board on the wall as house specials. We were full after the chicken and the gumbo, could not finish the muffin and the fries all the way. Two of us paid $29.80 after tax. Very reasonable price for the quality food. Highly recommended.

The best Cajun food in Chicago. Super friendly waiters who don't mind sharing their hot sauce recommendations. Must try the fried shrimp, gumbo and the jambalaya. Also, ask for the ghost pepper hot sauce. Edit: it’s cash only, so come prepared. There’s an ATM inside the restaurant too if you need it.

If you are looking for hearty dishes made with love – this is your spot! Their Po’boys cannot be beat! I really loved their jalapeno cheddar corn muffin, fried green tomatoes and a few others! The staff here is top notch! They are some of the nicest people I have ever met! At the same time – when stepping into this restaurant you feel as if you are transported out of Chicago and into a Louisiana diner! Also portions are pretty big so make sure you bring some friends with to share! I cannot wait to come back and check out their full menu! Lastly don’t forget to check out their drinks (get the hurricane)! Btw if you don’t try one of their hot sauces... you need to go back!

I cannot say anything negative about this place. The shrimp and grits were fork licking good, the gumbo was too. They have a variety of hot sauces on each table to choose from. The entrance is a little tricky to find because it's on the 7th floor of a building. I hope you can find it bc the food is worth it. Its conveniently located near Millennium Park so you can stuff your face then walk it off.

Decent prices, very generous portion sizes. It's a bummer they are cash only but luckily we had enough to not have to not order things. The jalapeno cheddar bangers were great, I really liked the friend pickles too. The vegetarian gumbo was gross (spinach and white rice). We liked the fried chicken and the cajun coleslaw as well. Drinks were decently priced and good portions/alcohol content. I'd recommend the place despite the cash thing.

I went today around opening time. The atmosphere was cute and had a family feel and did feel like Heaven on the 7th floor of Garland Building. Lol. I have always wanted to try Gumbo and Jambalaya and it was long over due so I ordered Louisiana Soul Deluxe. It really was a huge portion and looked very good in pictures and in person..but was very bland it consisted of mostly Beans and rice!!!! ( Would not recommend and would usually take a star off for that) BUT the side of gumbo i got was good, The reviews on Yelp and Google was right but That Etouffee of the day was PHENOMENAL (brought the star back). I didnt see a lot of reviews on Etouffee but again, it was Sinfully delicious!!!!!!!

Good food and service, nice variety on the menu. Great place for Cajun food. Went at lunch, looks like it can get busy. Food was not overly spicy as some Cajun places will do. Good experience.
