Staying at the Heavenly valley lodge bed & breakfast was amazing went there for a little vacation and I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay at! It was great to know that every morning we would have delicious breakfast, not to mention the pancakes were my favorite! The rooms where amazing, very clean and cozy especially with a cute fire place. They have great seating out side as well as seating with a bonfire pit. The host are great people with an amazing heart. They went above and beyond to check that are stay was as best as it can possibly be. This will definitely be back.

It was a huge mistake not reading the reviews before booking this hotel. The walls are paper-thin – we could hear our neighbors talking at 2 AM, making it nearly impossible to sleep during our four-night stay.|The bathroom was also disappointing. The shower-head is positioned poorly, directing water toward the wall, and given the tiny size of the shower area, you’re forced to press your body against the cold walls (during winter) just to get wet.|I still don’t understand why the room had a large drawer but no table to sit at, making it impossible to relax and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.|The fireplace thermostat was inconsistent – sometimes the room was too hot, other times too cold. When it did work, the fireplace made a loud, jarring noise that sounded almost like an explosion, waking us up in the middle of the night.|Definitely not a place I would recommend.

"We've stayed at Heavenly Valley Lodge twice now, and both times the experience has been exceptional. The atmosphere of the hotel is cozy and welcoming. We've stayed in both the King and Queen rooms, and each time, the environment was quiet and relaxing. The location is perfect—just a short distance from the ski slopes, beach, and nearby restaurants, making it incredibly convenient for all activities.||The staff is equally impressive. We had the chance to meet Rosie and her cleaning crew, and they were all incredibly friendly and professional. Their attention to detail and dedication to keeping everything spotless made our stay even more enjoyable.||I also had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, who is polite, kind, and a real problem solver. He truly cares about his business, and it shows in every detail of the lodge. We wish him all the best and look forward to returning!"

This place is now my favorite place to stay, so cute and cozy and what a beautiful location. Rosy was so super friendly, helpful & very personable and she made the experience that much better. She brought back the meaning of customer service.

Rooms are very small but other than that, this place is great! Dog friendly rooms. We stayed in 115, cute little birdhouse theme. Great gas fireplace, cozy and romantic. Needs real coffee mugs as the only ones supplies are paper and can't be microwaved. Good fridge, comfy bed, warm room.

The shuttle bus is right outside. Great for access to the slopes for skiing. The rooms are quiet, very clean, warm, cosy, comfortable and dry. Small fireplace, good storage and cute homey details. Simple kitchenette (coffee, tea, cups etc provided). The room was cleaned and there were fresh towels every day. Perfect stay for a weekend ski trip. I'll be staying again.

My experience was overall really good. A few things weren't to appealing but let's get to it. I liked that you are able to access your room via key code, no forgetting a key or having to have it on you. While the hotel is close to pioneer road which is busy at times. I went during the week and it wasn't as loud as a busy weekend. I enjoyed watching Netflix, I don't have it at my house. That was a plus. TV was in a weird area though. I didn't like that the fan didn't work, and the gas fireplace emits some heat which warms up the room. This is not ideal because I sleep better when it's cooler. I think they had poilet should be off especially during warm months I almost shut it off. But I made it through . Summer it should be off completely though. The motel sign is very bright and no dark curtains so it lights up the room . The bathroom toilet took forever to flush , which made me think it may get clogged. No staff except early morning, maids. I think there is a number to call if you need something but being on your own if something happens is bad. Luckily not to many ppl where there when I was but I think during busy times it could get crowded. Not a big parking lot. Cool benches outside the rooms, nice feeling of being in the woods. The room is very small I don't mind. But you can bump into things and the kitchen is just a shelf with all the amenities. Close to downtown just a nice walk away.

This was a lovely little lodge. So happy we didn't pick one of the big resorts. You can pick your room and the fireplaces make it a perfect romantic getaway. Glenn (property manager) helped us choose rooms furthest from the road. You park right in front of your room for easy access. They are cozy and quaint with a comfy bed, nice linens and basics in the kitchen area including coffee. There's a firepit and tables in the outside area for eating/relaxing. Even though there is no on-site personnel, there was immediate response to text and clear directions for check-in/out. The housekeeping staff was great! We loved HVL and would highly recommend it! Excellent value!

Yelp
Just a few words about Ski school/ Day care Grant is such a great teacher! My granddaughter improved tremendously thanks to him and I see how his instruction played a huge role in that. We appreciate him very much! Nina Also, I am so grateful to Chase. He is one of the best ski instructors i have ever seen. He taught my granddaughter for 1 private lesson and she improved tremendously in a single day! He is amazing!

Yelp
Cute warm rooms lit by gas fireplaces, fun decorations and details. Effective automated access codes for rooms, access for WiFi. We would stay here again.

Yelp
My boyfriend surprised me with a 2 night stay at Heavenly valley lodge for our 7 year anniversary and after arriving at 12 am last night we just set everything down and went to sleep and got up in the morning to get some breakfast and walk around Downtown we come back to a mouse jumping out of my boyfriends shoe running into the kitchen area behind the trash and then wiggled his way under the cabinets. I am sure there is more than one mouse here and after calling for a refund they say they can only refund us for the one night even though it is clearly not sanitary. DO NOT STAY HERE UNTIL THEY ADVERTISE THEY HAVE ADDRESSED THE RODENT ISSUE!!

Yelp
Beautiful location, reasonable price, and the convenience of virtual check-in are highlights. But the room we were assigned (standard queen) was incredibly small. What open space there could be was instead taken up by a display case filled with little tchotchkes and figurine, which is not at all necessary; I'd rather have more space for my luggage or a little seating area. The shower was a skinny single stall, and the closet was too narrow to store a suitcase. I did appreciate the extra touches such as bathrobes and beach towels, a gas fireplace, and a coffee bar. But it was incredibly crowded even though there were just 2 of us. Again, great location, but next time I'll look for a bit more elbow room.

Yelp
We arrived and were greeted by Rosy and her team. Based on her amazing attitude, friendly service and the great information I received, she must be either the owner or manager. She was GREAT! The room is exactly like in the pictures. Everything was clean. No complaints. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Quaint, rustic and comfortable lodging-no complaints at all! We stayed in River Room #116 on April 28th for our 22nd anniversary. It was very cold but beautiful and sunny with gorgeous snowy mountains. We bundled up and walked over to Riva Grill for dinner,it was about 10-15 min walk.We didn't get any of the perks advertised(listed under specialties) on here - $80 free amenities per day,hot breakfast, happy hour, movies etc and the firepits weren't on.Maybe it's off-season and weekday? In any case we enjoyed our stay and it was quiet.FYI room 116 is right next to firepit area so guessing it could get noisy lol. We'd totally come back!

Yelp
The rooms are meticulously cared for. Very clean, small, but thats the point. The room cleaning person "Rosy" went above and beyond! .. I had accidentally left one of my motorcycle Helmet visors in the room after I checked out and went home, and she was able to politely text message me, along with a picture, to let me know what I left behind. She even offered to ship it to me for a small fee, shipping cost only. The beds are soft enough and i slept like a rock. First class. Tho you should be careful...bears are a thing up there, so dont leave food laying around outside!

Richard J.

Yelp
The facility is very old, small, and worn out. TV was a pain getting to work. Bed and pillows need to be replaced. very disappointed for the price. There is no one on the premises to talk to, it's completely over the internet....

Tom G.

Yelp
We had a great stay and really enjoyed our quaint room. It had a nice ceiling fan and a comfortable bed and the grounds are cute.

Yelp
After considering several properties of where to stay, we chose The Heavenly Valley Lodge. This lodge is a VRBO (Vacation Rental By Owner) and has no personnel on site for assistance. The lodge was purchased by an investment group in 2019 and has completed the renovation of some of the rooms. Having new owners, some of the information and photos found on websites are before the current owners acquired the property and may not be accurate today. It was apparent that our room had recently been renovated with all new cabinetry, furniture, a very firm bed, microwave oven, ceiling fan, a gas fireplace, new shower stall, chair height toilet and a pedestal sink. There was plenty of parking close to the room. Overall, the property is in a beautiful setting and the rooms are clean, quiet and well maintained.

Jason P.

Yelp
$275 a night for a subpar room. This is a cheap, poorly maintained room. Do not spend your money here. I could stay in motel 6 and it would be better.

Clever G.

Yelp
Pros: Convenient, easy access location 5 min drive to shops and eateries, like Whole Foods Clean Parking directly in front of your door Hot water, Heat, AC Microwave, fridge Nice cleaners who were helpful when I couldn't find email for check-in Cons: Bed is probably the most uncomfortable I've slept on in any hotel/Airbnb. It feels like laying on a thin mattress pad on the floor. Back and hips were messed up when I woke up. Do not recommend because of bed alone. No one to check you in, no one on site for questions or concerns. Do not recommend arriving past dark. No hot water kettle for tea Heating system instructions too complicated has unclear. Only went over how to light pilot light and not how to use the heater once the pilot light is working. Way overpriced for bed quality, there is nothing special about this place, it shouldn't cost over $300/night with taxes.

Sarah S.

Yelp
The website advertising is a deceit. Discovering there was no breakfast as advertised, the "inn keeper" was contacted. Immediately defensive he asked where we got our information. We sent it and received no response.

Yelp
My husband and I are on a budget and we came across this gem. It's decorated so cute. We got the Lucky which is theIr small one and it's perfect. Even though it's smaller than the other it has everything you need. Very friendly cleaning staff. Danny was part of the cleaning crew and he was very nice and helpful. Thank you Danny. It is decorated super cute. It has a fridge, microwave. It's literally a cute spot.

Brittany S.

Yelp
Perfect for what we were looking for! Our trip was only one night but would easily have stayed longer. Upon arrival Daniel was onsite to help us with check in questions and getting the fireplace going. He was so friendly and helpful and even provided us some fantastic recommendations for live music and great food. We took his recs and had a beautiful evening out - and then returned back to our cozy fireplace. Thank you, Daniel!

KYMBERLIE O.

Yelp
My husband and I came back in 2013 to this "hosted" bed and breakfast with Linda and her husband. We only came back for that same experience. We drive all the way here for our anniversary today to find out it is now remote and no longer a bed and breakfast. Very disappointed. Place is like a ghost town.

Yelp
I stayed at Heavenly Valley Lodge this past Monday and Tuesday. Things are a bit different with the pandemic. They have a pretty streamline system of checking guests in w/out in-person interaction. I arrived at 3PM to my room to find a personalized note and some DELICIOUS cookies. I had a minor issue on my first night, so I called the main line and left a voicemail. I immediately received a text, from who I'm guessing is the manager or owner regarding my message. They went above and beyond to rectify the situation, I was so impressed and grateful! The bed was SO comfy too! I love the fireplace and the location is great too. All the staff I encountered we so helpful and nice. I visit Tahoe fairly frequently, I will DEFINITELY be back!

Yelp
This is the most beautiful place my family and I have ever stayed in!! Wonderful owners and great hospitality. This is our second time staying here and I couldn't be happier. The breakfast is amazing and they keep it very heathy. The rooms are spacious and well kept very clean. We ended up getting 3 rooms and everyone of them exceeded our expectations. We are hoping to return very soon. They also have wedding services in there beautiful gated outside area with wonderful landscaping. We cant wait to be married there in 2021!

Laura B.

Yelp
Not a good place to go during Covid, and VERY OVERPRICED. They offer zero services. Office is closed. No housekeeping. Our room was tiny and old. Kitchenette had disposable plastic dishware, and nothing to cook with except microwave. Garbage truck arrived at 5:30 am right in front of our room one morning, and a big delivery truck blocked our car another day. With no AC the windows must be opened in summer, so all the road noise and smoke filled the room. We had to extend our Tahoe stay because of car problems, and booked a suite with full kitchen and service, AC, and a pool and hot tub for considerably less.

Melissa A.

Yelp
Heavenly Lodge is lovely! The rooms are cozy and have everything you need- including wine glasses and a bottle opener!!! On top of this, the owners (Johan & Linda) made our stay effortless!- with great food, fabulous conversation and personalized touches! I can't say enough about this establishment! Clean, comfortable, cozy, amazing breakfasts, Happy Hour!!!- & such friendly and inviting owners!! We will be back, again & again & again!!

Yelp
We were lucky enough to have found this little Oasis in Lake Tahoe for Father's Day weekend, and frankly, we can't wait to come back for another visit. We booked a Deluxe King room that was comfortable, inviting, and cozy - more than enough room for us both and it had a lovely fireplace and kitchenette to boot that was stocked with coffee, teas, and fresh baked cookies each night! Each of the rooms is decorated in a different theme and the decor is fabulous. It's all the extra little touches and amenities that make or break a hotel, and this Lodge far exceeded anything that we were expecting. I contacted the owners, Linda and Johan, a month before our visit because I recently had knee surgery and wasn't sure how I might be able to get up to the main lodge for check-in, etc. I needn't have worried. They were both so accomodating and helpful; Johan even installed an extra temporary grab bar in the shower for me, and Linda brought us a full ice bucket so I could keep ice on my knee. Breakfast at the lodge was scrumptious! The first morning Linda served two quiches and the following morning she was serving up french toast for the guests, and you could dine indoors, out on the patio, or take breakfast back to your room. The breakfast buffet also included fresh fruit, sausages, cereals, bagels, yogurt, juices, and lots of hot fresh coffee. At Happy Hour our hosts offered up wine, beer or a nice cocktail to the guests. Converstion around the outside fire pit was definitely lively which gave us an opportunity to meet some really lovely visitors. They were so welcoming at the Lodge that we felt like family there and really didn't want to leave, and kept coming up with excuses to stay later and later...LOL. I have to also thank the ladies in Housekeeping who were so kind to us. While visiting the Lodge don't forget to visit Linda's collectibles shop just behind the main building that she has stocked with all sorts of treasures! Overall our stay was a warm and wonderful experience and Linda and Johan have the set the bar quite high for other innkeepers because you can't fake kindness, consideration, or a real love for what they do for their guests at the Heavenly Valley Lodge!

Stacy N.

Yelp
We stay one night as a quick getaway and were very disappointed.....no staff on site, rooms a mess, dirty towels. We were told our room number and they key would be on the bed. Got there and our room was locked. No front desk staff to help and when we called the main number, it took them over 2 hours to figure things out. Will never stay here again. Huge disappointment. Other people staying there were equally as frustrated.

Christine C.

Yelp
Very clean rooms, and friendly/helpful staff. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the walls are paper thin and we were woken up at 4 in the morning one night during our 3 night stay to a couple arguing and slamming doors- we could literally hear every single word! Other than that, everything was great! We would stay here again.

Chris D.

Yelp
This is probably one of the very best bed & breakfast style lodging I have had the pleasure to stay at. Nestled in the heart of South Tahoe, the owners clearly went out of their way to make our stay very special. They offered complimentary happy hour of drinks & snacks in the evening and a home-style baked breakfast in the morning with all of the traditional fixings. Easy walking distance to the lake and other quality restaurants. All of their rooms are very clean with no odors or worn furniture. Rooms are average in size but there is one large room with wheelchair access. Each room has a theme and adorned with unique decor with gas fireplaces. Most definitely worth the stay. I have every intention to return there.

Richard V.

Yelp
we had booked Heavenly Valley Lodge some weeks ago for a 33rd Anniversary in August. ..Our stay date was coming up and with all the fires and smoke coupled with our breathing problems it was apparent we could not go there for our Anniversary. We were very sad because the room was so nicely decorated in the photos and we love Lake Tahoe.. Since the room was charged previously / paid by our credit card in full we were disappointed in not being able to stay. I called a few times and could not get thru to the Lodge, then the morning we were suppose to leave, I did get thru and had a very great experience. I was so lucky to get the Mgr, Michelle. I explained to her what our problem was, she volunteered to give us a full refund back... This was so great of her..I was so happy.. .She told me she has found when good things are done for others it will come back to you and I really agree with it...she was really nice about it and did follow thru with the refund several hours later...If you are lucky to talk with Michelle, she will always help you... sometime after this fire season is over we will be staying at this great lodge...r

Yelp
A hidden gem in Tahoe! I typically don't elect to stay in B&B's, however...Heavenly Valley Lodge surpassed all my expectations for a family run and quaint B&B. The rooms were fully equipped. Down to every detail! My room had a kitchenette, fireplace, bathroom, desk and full sized bed. The room had a small basket filled with toiletries you could have forgotten (deodorant, toothpaste, daily vitamin, lotion etc...). There were also very helpful lake tahoe guides displayed in the room :) The hosts, Linda and Johan set a new standard for exceptional hosts. They were incredibly warm, friendly and went above and beyond to ensure their guests felt right at home. Direct quote from Linda, "I'm your Tahoe mom" :) How sweet is that?! Every morning Linda and Johan prepared a wonderful homemade breakfast. They had yogurt, cereal, coffee, tea, juice, bagels, toast, fresh fruit and a featured item of the day. One day: Egg scramble, Another: French Toast, Last: Cinnamon swirl. Overall, Heavenly Valley Lodge is a fantastic value with genuine good vibes. Bottom Line: Like staying with family :) I'll be back!

Yelp
This hotel is advertised as a "pet friendly hotel" yet we were called back to our motel 30 minutes after leaving due to our dog barking. I'd understand this if it was bed time, however it was 6 pm on a Friday night. After talking to the argumentative woman, she expressed that the standard 24/7 is complete silence. So in booking this hotel, simply understand the expectation is complete silence at all times. Meaning anything less than quiet talking amongst yourselves, is not allowed. Unless your animal is completely silent, this motel is not "pet friendly". They should put that on the website so people understand this wild standard of complete silence at all times. Otherwise expect a small, stuffy hotel room which is advertised.

Yelp
We absolutely loved our stay at Heavenly Valley lodge. I've never stayed at a B&B because I prefer the privacy of a separate hotel room. This lodge combines the best of both worlds with your own private room and bathroom separate from the communal lounging and eating areas. The outdoor lounge areas include a fire pit with plenty of comfy seating under the expansive trees. Johan greeted us upon arrival, and showed us to our room. It was small but very clean with all the amenities you need....comfy bed, fridge, microwave, and even a plate of cookies and personalized welcome note. I was also surprised how quiet the rooms were, I never heard a sound from my neighbors on either side. Happy hour includes yummy snacks made by Linda, and mixed drinks or wine. Linda even made me a special non-alcoholic "mom"osa:) Breakfast included a variety of pastries, bagels, fresh fruit, and hot dishes made fresh for you by Linda. We had mini omelettes, hashbrowns and sausage one morning, and pancakes the next. You get so much food, you won't be hungry til the afternoon. The location is safe and quiet, and easy to get to off hwy 50. We're already planning our next trip back.

Yelp
During me and my girlfriend G's road trip through California we did a two nights stop in South Lake Tahoe and stayed at Heavenly Vally Lodge. This show itself be one of the best places we stopped during the entire trip. This is a bed and breakfast run by a lovely couple that took very well care of us, they made breakfast every morning, made sure we had fresh and new water bottles at our room and cookies, have is discounts in places nearby and a nice introduction to the area. They also arranged a cocktail hour every day which we unfortunately missed during our stay but that seam very popular and good. The rooms had all you could ask for but where a bit small but it didn't do anything for us. There where probably the most cosy rooms I ever stayed in. Can't say anything negative about this place and because of that I can just highly recommend it and give it 5 out 5 points.

Danielle R.

Yelp
We had the BEST time!! It was a last minute decision to stay here, but we will be back soon! My boyfriend & I got in late but our lodging instructions were emailed to me, & we still were greeted by Garret & their cute golden retriever. The rooms were super clean & had everything we needed for a weekend stay. Michelle was so sweet & easy to talk to, & her breakfast was delicious! Such a cute little breakfast space with delicious coffee, juices, & fresh fruit. Unlike any B&B I've stayed in, we will definitely be back again! Amazing hospitality & people, I can't say enough great things!

Kylie W.

Yelp
This place is great! Cute rooms and nice amenities. Clem was awesome and made sure our experience was amazing! We will definitely be back.

Joie Y.

Yelp
I'm such a newb at everything. I have never ever stayed at a bed and breakfast before. But I'm familiar with the concept since my hometown has one every other house. It's a place to stay at, which typically is limited to a few rooms, that provides you breakfast. The idea is to establish and maintain a friendship with the owners or managers of the place. It's a great idea to help you find a place to return that is familiar and friendly. Being that I only have stayed at hotels, motels, and inns, this was a welcome surprise. As soon as we pulled up, a man walked up followed by a woman. They are the owners of the place, Johan and Linda. We were taken aback by their genuine hospitality. Linda was kind enough to show us the different types of rooms. We had actually wanted to drive around to other places and check them out before settling on one. But because of Linda and Johan's good natured spirit, we decided to stay. Since it wasn't really ski season, we asked them what else can we do in Tahoe besides drive over the state line to gamble. They had a lot of suggestions and even invited us to join them at dinner. Because of Johan and Linda's friendliness is what gives this place 5 stars. While the rooms are all nicely renovated with cute fireplaces and new furnishings, the overall place is too quaint for my style. But that's just me. It's all very rustic, but being the city girl I am, I like glass and steel. But again, that's just me. The rooms were comfy and the fireplaces really do add to the place. Maybe if it were the dead of winter with snow all over, then I might appreciate it more, but it's fall. I guess I'll have to return in the winter! Breakfast is pretty good. Even though we stayed 3 days, we only enjoyed breakfast once. It's a good selection of fruits, bagels, muffins, cereal, hard boiled eggs. Breakfast held me over pretty good until dinner. They also have an honor bar in the lodge, which is good since we didn't really want to drive to the store to buy some over priced wine. And the first night that we were there, Linda had brought over some fudge! I love fudge so having it as a little snack before bed was great. Overall, I would return to this place because of Johan and Linda. They are in a good location, being at the bottom of the Heavenly Ski Run. I wish them good luck in this new endeavor for them.

Mrs S.

Yelp
I highly recommend staying here. Our room was adorable with a super comfy king bed and a kitchen. Decorated super cute. The management is super cool, friendly and overall awesome. Michelle made a killer breakfast. The location is great and dog friendly. Did I say SUPER enough? 2 thumbs up! Can't wait to go back!

Lizzy R.

Yelp
Came here for a bachelorette weekend, and had a great stay! Cute, cozy atmosphere, clean rooms... Garret and Michelle went above and beyond to make our stay so comfortable! Our plans changed multiple times and Michelle was very gracious and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious! They also were very knowledgeable about the town surrounding and helped us find great places to eat out. Thank you Heavenly Valley Lodge for helping us make such a great memory!

Michael C.

Yelp
Is it possible to give this place 10 STARS! I'm serious-this is the BEST place to stay in all of South Lake Tahoe! The owners-Linda and Johan-are such wonderful people, and you can tell by the way that they treat all of their guests, that they truly love what they do! So much to love about this place-the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The FREE breakfast, every morning, is delicious! Linda waits on you as if you are family! The location is wonderful-close enough to the Lake itself, wonderful hiking trails, and of course, the Heavenly Village. One more wonderful thing-Johan took time out of his busy schedule-a few hours on a Friday-to take my wife and I on a long, and very scenic, bike ride, showing us many beautiful sights! Try getting that kind of service, from some "elite" hotel nearby! We can't wait to return to Heavenly Valley Lodge! We know you will love it too!

Gary A.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here for a last minute weekend getaway and it lived up to all our expectations. The Lodge is nestled away from the bustle of stateline but close enough to enjoy all there is to do there. The room was clean, well appointed, quiet, and comfortable. Linda and Johan were perfect hosts, showing us to our room, orienting us to the area and all there is to do, and offering to help in any way they could to make our stay memorable. We felt well taken care of throughout the weekend by both. Happy Hour was a lot of fun, with wine, snacks, and our hosts and fellow lodgers good company and conversation. Breakfast in the morning was delish. We especially loved the egg bake! Yum. We left having one of the most enjoyable getaways in a long time. Would not hesitate to recommend this B&B to others and look forward to returning soon.

Justin B.

Yelp
Quiet, quaint & comfortable. The best parts of a bed & breakfast, but with a private room. Linda & Johann are super nice, welcoming & generous, providing a delicious breakfast every morning and a happy hour in the evening. It's a great way to meet some nice people and share stories of peoples' travels. The room was clean and well-appointed with all the conveniences one would need. There is even a kitchenette and a fireplace! For a night in we chose a movie from there selection of over 800 DVDs. We will definitely come back to stay next time we are in Tahoe.

Sammy G.

Yelp
We came here for new years. This place is by far the nicest and cutest place we have stayed. Couple of issues which i have addressed to the owners, such as uncomfortable mattress in our room (cowboy bunkhouse) room. And couple of other minor things that the owner is going to take care of for the future. I'm a very blunt person. I will tell you how it is. I loved their breakfast serving and how the owner actually cooks every morning for everyone. Wonderful couple. What i really like about the owner is that she goes every room with her house keepers to make sure the room is spotless. They even organize your stuff in the room. I how they walk you thru everything and put so much energy to make sure you are happy. They give more discount if you go back, so expect to pay less in future once you stay here.

K S.

Yelp
This is a great place to stay in Tahoe and Linda and Johan are amazing hosts! We have stayed here a couple times and have had a great experience each time.

Yelp
You know the old saying: "You can't please everyone". Well whoever coined that phrase obviously never met Linda and Johan at Heavenly Valley Lodge; because I just finished watching them please everyone. Somehow my parents have managed to live in wedded bliss for 50 years, so my family (ALL my family), used that as an excuse to have a family reunion. We used HVL as as our "ground zero". Poor Linda and Johan! We reserved the entire place. Literally. And for three days 24 of us occupied all of the rooms and most of Linda's time. Young children to elderly; rich to poor; hyper-masculine to hyper-sensitive; super chill to super picky... my family spans the gamut of the human psyche rainbow, and Linda handled everyone with aplomb. She made it look easy, though I doubt it was. The mark of the true professional. Beyond that, she and Johan were invaluable in helping to arrange and execute the anniversary celebration. A number of my relatives were taking these arrangements as seriously as a bride takes her wedding- they were looking for perfection- and it all went off without a hitch. Once again, everyone happy. Astonishing. The rooms were great (bigger than they look on the website), the breakfasts were yummy, the happy-hours were warm and inviting. And Linda's little antiques store is interesting enough that a number of my relatives made multiple purchases. I have to be honest, Tahoe as a whole isn't really my style. It has that rich tourisy vibe that, IMO, puts the "vacant" in "vacation". Both in terms of what it does to your wallet, and the value of interaction with most of the general populace...nothing interesting be found. So I'm not entirely sure when I'll go back there. But when I do go back, I'm happy to know I have my little island of care and warmth and humanity waiting for me at Heavenly Valley Lodge. Truly a wonderful place run by amazing people.

Yelp
This is a great place, very friendly owners invite you in like friends. Great location for Heavenly Resort and center of town without being on the main drag though town. My room was clean and had cozy homelike design with gas fireplace that heats nice. Everything looked like it had a personal touch. Breakfast was part of the deal and interesting conversation was as well. I would come back here for sure and recommend it to others.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at this wonderful B&B this weekend. The owners ( Linda and Johan ) make you fill like family they go above and beyond the ordinary innkeepers. Linda cooks a European breakfast to die for, and the cocktail hour is always full of interesting subjects , laughter galore and Johan not shy to pour good cocktails ! The rooms are spotless, beds very comfortable, linens and towels excellent quality, this place is one of a kind! This is the best place to stay in South Lake Tahoe!

Yelp
Stayed here over The Weekend and had an amazing time. The owners were very nice and the couples staying at the lodge were pleasant. They had healthy breakfast and had a free cocktail hour. The inn is also dog friendly and even had doggy treats. Inside the room was a fireplace, microwave, fridge, and dinnerware which worked out perfectly for us as we choose to only eat out one night and brought meals from home. I would highly recommend this cute cozy lodge! P.S. only a 15 min walk to the lake and about 10 mins drive to heavenly resort. There is also a really cool trail called Cold Creek Trail that's about a 10 mins drive.

Yelp
We stayed here in January. I think it's important to call out that my wife and I both work in hotels, and have for over 30 years combined. This place offered the BEST SERVICE EVER! Just like visiting mom, or even the fondest memories of visiting grandma who only wants to make you happy, give you food (and in this case happy hour too!) and ask you how your day was. Around town, everyone knows the owners and as such, treats their guests like family as well! Linda and Johan - you hit it out of the park! Thank you for everything.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed one night this past weekend at Heavenly Valley Lodge for our 8 year anniversary (first night without kids in a long time!). Linda and Johan were so friendly...Linda showed us to our room and pointed out that the heater was the gas fireplace (best ambiance I've ever had in a hotel room! It was a quiet little lodge tucked in the beautiful forest, but super close to Heavenly Village and the lake, so it was perfect for exploring and grabbing dinner. Breakfast was phenomenal and Linda and Johan were so attentive to everyone's needs. Johan was very knowledgeable about hikes and the surrounding area. If you stay here, you have to go to Fallen Leaf Lake, just a short drive away. There are several hikes of varying difficulty levels near/around the lake, and there is a spectacular waterfall during the snow-melt season! We did the Angora Lakes/Clark Trail and it was just what we were looking for: a challenging hike away from the crowds (especially challenging because of the snow melt, so we were hiking through the snow and through the temporary "creek" of snow-melt water). I'd love to go back to Heavenly Valley Lodge someday! Thank you Linda and Johan for your lovely bed and breakfast!

Yelp
The first time my wife and I came out here was for our honeymoon in 2012. Johan and Linda are the perfect hosts, we enjoyed it so much we have been back twice. We recently went back and stayed 5 nights and each time it seems like we have more fun. The rooms are warm and cozy and the breakfasts are amazing! We enjoy happy hour every night too, it's nice to sit around and talk with Johan and Linda as well as meeting the other guests that are staying there. We would highly recommend heavenly valley lodge to anyone who is planning on going to South Lake Tahoe, it's close to everything and in my opinion the cleanest looking place in town. Do yourself a favor and check them out if you are ever there, you won't be disappointed!
