The building sign was not lit, someone driving by might think the place is closed. Plenty of parking. The restaurant was clean, in fact the person working the desk continued his cleaning tasks instead of greeting me, or coming to take my order. As I waited the woman in the kitchen packaging orders looked me in the eye multiple times, but never parted her lips with a greeting, though she did peek out likely to gauge why the gentleman hadn't come to take my order.
Once I (the customer) became the priority he was very polite, inquiring if this was my first visit I replied in the affirmative & he said "welcome, thank you for dining with us". I am of the belief that bbq sauce is supposed to enhance, not replace seasoning, so I ordered everything with the sauce on the side.
Rib Tips: tender meat, the smoke is there, but no seasoning.
Hot Link: I'm not sure what this was, but definitely not a hot link. The casing had great snap, but the meat had a weird texture, & wasn't spicy at all.
Brisket: salt & pepper would have made all the difference because the meat was moist & tender but bland
Macaroni & Cheese: the pasta was not seasoned & overcooked to mush
Cornbread: Burned. Moist, not overly sweet, a bit light on corn flavor, even with the one corn kernel
Both the Hickory & Sweet & Spicy BBQ sauces are good, if you want a meal with flavor you're definitely going to need them.
