Bob Dylan’s Distillery and Restaurant Will Transform a Church in 2020 | Eater Nashville

"Expecting to open next year in SoBro, Heaven’s Door Distillery and Center for the Arts is being created by converting a 160-year-old church at 410 Elm Street into a whiskey library, restaurant and a 360-seat live performance venue. The arts center will feature Dylan’s paintings and metalwork sculptures, and the project grew out of a collaboration introduced in April of last year between singer-songwriter Bob Dylan and Angel’s Envy Bourbon founder Marc Bushala; the Heaven’s Door range includes Tennessee Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Double Barrel Whiskey, Straight Rye Whiskey and a recent limited-edition 10-year-old Tennessee Bourbon. I also noted that in August last year Bourbon producer Heaven Hill filed a trademark-infringement lawsuit against Heaven’s Door." - Delia Jo Ramsey

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Heaven’s Door Distillery – Can’t Wait for the Grand Opening I recently stopped by the future site of Heaven’s Door Distillery, and although it’s not open to the public yet, the grounds already look incredibly promising. The architecture and setting give a great first impression It’s a bit of a tease to see such an impressive location still closed off, but if what’s visible is any indication, this distillery is going to be something truly special once the doors finally open. As a bourbon enthusiast who’s visited over 50 distilleries across Kentucky, I can honestly say: this is one I’m genuinely excited for. Heaven’s Door looks like it will be a fantastic addition to the bourbon trail – and I’ll definitely be back once it opens.

Stopped by today with our dog, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great bartender and Blake who created us was very friendly. Had a Mint Julep and a Knockin on Lemons door cocktail. As well as some tastes straight up.

I'd love to leave a review of my first experience tasting Heavens Door but I'd need the product to do that. I ordered the trilogy on December 14th, the money was processed from my bank account and almost 3 weeks later, not so much as a "shipped" notice. I understand it was the holiday season when the order was submitted, but this is completely unacceptable. I've just sent an email requesting they cancel the order and refund my money. Seriously disappointed as Bob Dylan is/was my favorite artist.

Certainly cannot wait to see what’s to come!

Been by the property a few times recently and from the entrance things seem ready to go. Sure wish we could get an official opening date. Been in limbo for a while now. 5 stars on faith.

Great property! Can’t wait for it to open to the public.

When is this place ever going to open and why are they so vague about an opening date?

Yelp
Where to start with this whole experience. And it really is a great experience! Heaven's Door is located off the beaten path in the midst of Amish country. Tip: be careful driving the country roads near there as we passed several horse and buggies and a bicyclist on the narrow roads. The drive itself is a pretty one through Kentucky rolling farmland and several small towns. The distillery itself sits on an approximately 160 acre plot of land. The entrance is easy to spot. The main building is the second largest wood structure in Kentucky. The experience consists of a tour of the distillery plus an informative and enjoyable excursion of the property which has multiple historic log cabins and a grist mill. Each stop at one of the historic buildings provided a tasting of a different Heaven's Door spirit and information about the building and the history of whiskey and bourbon. I think this was one of the most memorable bourbon tours I've ever been to. It was truly an experience. Allow a minimum of 2 hours for this. Tip: nice weather allows for one to fully enjoy the beauty of the historic "village". John our tour guide was excellent! They are in the stages of opening an event center and restaurant. Waiting to go back and enjoy this!

Yelp
Way out in the hills of Kentucky you will find this wonderful distillery. This is Bob Dylan's signature distillery. They offer several different bottles. Well worth the drive here. Staff was great! They give a fabulous tour. Nothing like I have ever done before .this tour is well worth your time! Come in and see Beth and great r tour guide John Rohr.... It was a great tour.

Yelp
You couldn't have a more bucolic setting. The historic cabins are fantastic. Staff provided excellent backround and of course, the bourbon is excellent. Seeing deer roam the property an added plus.

Yelp
We had a preview of Heaven's Door Distillery tour with some great behind-the-scenes access to some amazing historic buildings. We observed a bourbon production cycle, sampled a flight and had a preview of the public tour. Amazing place!

Yelp
NO response to my form email end of July 2024 asking about opening. BAD vibe from that.

Yelp
Location very hard to get to and secluded. Very far from anything in the area. Closed when we got there.
