"This long-running Arlington bakery and deli has been serving authentic, European baked goods since 1975. Owner Wolfgang Büchler and team bake up a fluffy yeast dough king cake with diced fruits, raisins, and nuts before topping it with fondant icing green, purple, and yellow sugar. Each $12.95 cake serves six to eight people." - Stephanie Carter

Susie here baked my wedding cake and it came out perfect! It looked stunning but on top of that it tasted amazing. So many of our guests said that it was the best wedding cake they had eaten. This bakery will forever hold a special place in my heart and memory.

Heidelberg is one of my favorite places for a weekend breakfast. The service is phenomenal — even when they’re busy the workers always take the time to answer your questions or make recommendations. We love getting their breakfast sandwiches on a croissant and a few pastries. I love their almond pretzel, but it is VERY almondy so don’t say I didn’t warn you. I love the chaotic seasonal items and their selection of Haribo candies. Overall, Heidelberg has such an amazing, traditional family values kind of energy. You can tell that so many of the customers have been loyal for years. That’s just the Heidelberg effect!

I recently ordered a birthday cake from Heidelberg Pastry and was blown away by their service and product. The staff provided excellent customer service, ensuring my order was perfect. The cake was delivered on time and exceeded my expectations in both appearance and taste. Highly recommend!

I am of German descent and lived 8 years in Germany as an adult. This is my place for a fix of German food. Particularly dangerous for me are the chocolates and the pastry. They are excellent. My only wish is that I lived closer to it. Please check them out.

After another cake maker left me high and dry for my daughter’s birthday cake, they came up BIG! Not only did they make the cake design my daughter picked out, it also tasted amazing! And they were half the price of the other cake maker! They were so kind and helpful. Truly came to my rescue. They have a customer for life! Thank you Heidelberg!

Google
Heidelberg is the best bakery around. Just love their cakes but meat, bread and all other baked goods are also excellent, as well. Here’s a pro tip: They always have a ton of cakes on hand. If you need a cake but didn’t have time to order in advance, call them! If the cake you want is available, they will hold it for you and will write a message on it when you get there. Service there is outstanding.

Google
Food and cakes are amazing. We have gotten our special occasion cakes here for over 10 years. But staff and customer service is lacking. I’m so frustrated. I just wanted to order a unicorn cake for my daughter’s birthday and was passed around to three different staff members who all gave conflicting information about design and price. Some staff are clearly not knowledgeable about the design options or pricing and could not answer my design questions. Despite my frustration, I called back to place the order and the staff member who answered the phone took 8 tries to get my name right despite my phonetic spelling (it’s not an uncommon name). I was so frustrated I hung up and called Randolph’s instead.

This place is a neighborhood classic. They keep the prices low (by Arlington standards) and the decor is awesome "mom's kitchen throwback". May it never, never change. I don't love everything they make, but since they make about 87,000 different things, you can find something. Their emphasis is old style German baking with Christian and Jewish calendar seasonal flourishes. This is, for instance, the first place I ever had a "hot cross bun"-- like in the children's poems. (They had them for Easter). And they have a great sandwich bar where I always get egg salad. The quiches are good too. They have coffee and real German sausages that look delicious too. And a nice seating area in front of a huge window. There's always room. So basically, you could spend all day here eating, drinking coffee, reading, looking out the window, and planning your next meal. That would be a great day. (PS: parking is annoying but do-able)

Yelp
A European shoppe with pastries, cakes, pies, bread, bagels, rolls, marzipan, petit fours, doughnuts, chocolates, cookies, candy, a large variety of drinks, German brand food products, and a deli section. The owner, Wolfgang Büchler is from Heidelberg, Germany. He started his shoppe in 1975. My wife and I visited on a Saturday at 9 am. It was busy. We got 9 items. 1) Wurst on a roll Grilled sausage, sauerkraut, ketchup, and mustard in a french roll. You get a choice of sausage. There were five on a list. I picked Bauernwurst. It had a coarse ground and lightly smoked mixture of beef, pork, and mustard seeds. It tasted like a light version of half-smoke. The spices, seasonings, and smokiness were nicely balanced and had a good blend of savory, spicy, and salty flavors. It was juicy, firm, huge, and not too greasy. The sauerkraut had bits of smoked ham and rye seeds. It was moderately sour and mildly salty. It was tasty, so I got a pound. The roll had a crisp crust and soft chewy crumb that was fluffier than a hot dog roll. This wurst combination was incredibly flavorful! 2) German Cold Cut sandwich Salami, Schinkewwurst, Gelbwurst, Muenster cheese, mustard, lettuce, and tomato in bread of your choice. They had 8 types of bread. We chose sour dough. All of the meat had some type of pork with spices and seasonings. The meat flavors were stronger than the seasonings and spices. This was a meaty and savory sandwich! The bread was soft, moist, and slightly sour with a crisp crust. Everything was high quality. This is a new favorite for us! 3) Buttercrumb danish It was moist, soft, fluffy, and slightly chewy. It was moderately sweet with modest flavors of cinnamon and butter. This danish had richness. We enjoyed it! 4) Sticky Bun A moderately sweet and buttery cinnamon roll topped with caramel and chopped pecans. It was moist, soft, and slightly chewy with moderate flavors of cinnamon and brown sugar. This is sweet decadence. 5) Mini apple raisin strudel It had a flaky crust with a soft, moist interior. The filling was like apple pie with black raisins. It was moderately sweet with a light cinnamon flavor. The apples were diced and soft with a light granny smith flavor. The raisins were soft, juicy, and sweet. Overall, it was a deliciously sweet apple pastry with a good complement of flavors. 6) Parker House rolls Depending on how you eat them, the taste and texture are different. Warmed in the microwave for 15 seconds, they were soft, fluffy, moist, and slightly chewy with a typical white bread flavor. At room temp, they were denser, drier, and less chewy with a hint of egg yolk and sweet butter flavor. It was great either way. 7) Beer Cheese Spread It was nade with swiss, cheddar, cream cheese, butter, beer, onions, parsley, garlic, pepper, paprika, and caraway sceds. The dominant flavors were cheddar, paprika, pepper, and sour cream. The rest were mild. The beer wasn't obvious. It had great depth and blend of flavors. 8) Spice pretzel A flaky crisp pretzel coated with warm spices. It had flavors of brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. The pretzel's texture was like an overbaked danish. It was too hard on the outside and slightly dry on the inside. Loved the flavor, not so much the texture. 9) Linzer Schnitten An Austrian pastry named after the city of Linz, Austria. This was a type of torte. It was a single layer shortbread cake topped with raspberry jam and powdered sugar. There was decorative lattice work on top. It had flavors of brown sugar, raspberry jam, cinnamon, nuts, and cloves. It was dense, moist, soft, crumbly, modestly sweet, mildly nutty, and slightly tart from the jam. It fell apart easily, with crumbs falling everywhere. I'd like this more if it wasn't so messy to eat and had more raspberry jam, cloves, and cinnamon. It tasted okay overall. The service was attentive, responsive, helpful, polite, and quick. When you enter the store, take a number tag from the dispenser on your left. A server will call your number. That person will make and pack everything for you. That includes making sandwiches and coffee drinks. The store, dining area, and single restroom were clean. They have a free parking lot. There is free parking at the community center nearby. They are closed on Monday. The prices were reasonable and the quality was good. We plan on returning to try many more things. I gladly recommend a visit.

Yelp
This place is so good. They always have so many different breads and pastries, not to mention the cookies and other baked goods that are incredible! What I love the most about this place besides the obvious baked goods is that it's very unpretentious. This is a classic bakery that just focuses on putting out GOOD baked goods and sandwiches. Pro tip to get there early on the weekends as a lot of their stuff routinely sells out!

Yelp
Busy "Old School" Bakery! Located in Arlington, VA. My friends long-time customers of Heidelberg's invited me to join them on a recent cold Sunday January morning. We arrived the bakery was busy think wall to wall people. The shoppe has a wall windows- daylight streaming in. Limited bar height seating along the windows & a few cafe tables/chairs. The bakery is big-display cases set up in a semicircle. I saw freshly made, donuts, danishes, poppyseed coffee cake slices & chocolate truffles, whole decorated cakes too. They even prepare deli sandwiches to order. Some shelves were bare-pastries sold out. I purchased poppyseed coffee cake, a chocolate frosted brownie. We ordered deli sandwiches for lunch-scored a table too. Delicious sandwiches. Poppyseed coffee cake my favorite-moist, tender cake, fresh lemon flavor. Friendly Professional Customer Service. Yelp
This place has been around for such a long time now, it's made itself to be well-known to arlingtonians and people from afar as well. Their service is well and attentive, and they always have plenty of staff ready to take your order. They have everything from cookies, cakes, breads, pretzel breads, cheese spreads and hot dogs and everything I've had from cupcakes to mini cakes were all good. They have their own parking, but beware bc their parking spot can fill up pretty fast! I highly recommend if you're in the area!

Yelp
LOVE Heidelberg! I have been ordering the Black Forest cake from here for a few years now. It is such a delectable cake with cherry brandy, layers of cherries and dark chocolate and whipped cream. A few weeks ago, we threw a party to celebrate the first day of Oktoberfest and had Heidelberg cater. Everything was absolutely excellent. In addition to the staple Black Forest, we also got the Kase Sahne cake - a yellow cake with raspberry jam filling. This is also my new favorite! Such a light and fluffy cake and so much lemon flavor! Yumm. For savory snacks, we got the 2lb Oktoberfest Pretzel and the Das Deutsche Delight. What showstoppers! Both were huge and a hit. The pretzel was surprisingly soft, and so yummy. The Dash Deutsche Delight were layers of German cold cuts with Muenster and Swiss cheeses. I enjoyed building different bites with the various meats and cheeses. It also came with four 1lb breads, so no need to worry about carbs! We also got the small vegetable tray to round out all the bread and meat... The party was for 25 folks, but I think all this could have fed up to 30 as heavy hors d'oeuvres.

Christina M.

Yelp
I have continued to visit Heidelberg multiple times since my first visit, and have been just as impressed every time. I recently ordered a cake from Heidelberg via Uber Eats, and I was so impressed with how it came out- the cake was so beautifully decorated, and they were able to accommodate my note with the order for writing on top of the cake. The cake itself was absolutely delicious- so light and fluffy and just bursting with real lemon flavor. Thrilled to be a repeat customer!

Eric W.

Yelp
The cake we ordered was done on time. It looked good and was done as agreed. Taste is another matter, most people at the party did not eat the cake. The picture we had added for customization looked like a paper, but it is obviously edible, but very sugary cake with thick butter based frosting. it was sad that the 40 guests did not like it much and wasted half. I didn't go around the room asking why they don't like the cake and not eating it. I had no intent to bring more attention to something that wasn't a success. Personally for me, the cake part was quite dry and the frosting was too sugary. unfortunately cannot recommend this place unless you like this type of taste.

Yelp
Everything is Amazing.. GO JUST GO!! Hidden Gem in Arlington! The owners are so nice and welcoming also!

Yelp
This place has so much to offer!! They have a variety of options ranging from a deli, to a bakery, to a little chocolate section. It's a German shop. They also have tons of traditional German options to select from in regards to cooking/seasonings. I didn't get a chance to try a lot of their items. It all looked really good and freshly baked! I came for a cake I had pre-ordered. The cake was only $29. I ordered their German chocolate cake. Although it didn't take like a traditional German chocolate it was a really good moist and delicious chocolate cake. Their carrot cupcakes were good and the icings on both cakes were top notch! I'm definitely going to go back and try more items. I would also order a cake from here again. They have a parking lot but during busy hours it's packed and a hot mess. Street parking also seemed limited during busy hours. They have a number implementation. You get a number and they call you up and you place your order.

Zoya F.

Yelp
It was a delight to visit Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe yesterday. Service is stellar and the food is awesome, too. Along with lunch, I picked up brownie petit fours and some very chocolaty Bergers-style cookies. The cookies were even better than the kind I remember from visiting Baltimore. I haven't tried sheet cakes at Heidelberg, but I noticed that the shop seemed to be doing a good business in those, too. I'll be back to try more items!

Greg O.

Yelp
A really nice bakery with a good selection of goods including some German grocery staples. Parking is tight in their small lot and there is no turnaround. Street parking might be a better option. They do have a small seating area inside for you to enjoy the deliciousness that greets you as soon as you enter the place. There are a ton of baked goods options, with many different types of breads, rolls and pastries. They also offer breakfast sandwiches and even bagels. (The bagels are ok, but that's not their specialty.) Service was quick and friendly. The pretzel tasted exactly like I remember from Germany and was absolutely delicious. I look forward to going back to try some more of their goods!

Danny B.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised with how awesome this place was. It was like walking into the great British baking show bakery shop, except... it's German lol. All types of delicious, flakey pastry's from all over the world. We really enjoyed the cheese danish and the Nutella croissant. We're definitely coming back to conquer the 2lbs pretzel and try the chocolate pretzel. They have anything from donuts, to cookies, to bagels, to strudels, to cakes and breakfast sandwiches.

Austin G.

Yelp
Attending boarding school in Germany, Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe brought me back to Kandern, a small town in the Black Forest. With the atmosphere of a 1970s American shop, the pastries are very much German. Jelly doughnut, cheese danishes, Black Forest cakes, pies, they have it all. Stopping in for breakfast in December, here's my experience. 1) Food: Walk inside and you'll see almost every kind of pastries/sweet treats from cookies to croissants to doughnuts to cakes to pies. For just a few dollars, I got a chocolate-glazed doughnut and a cheese danish. Both were moist and tasty, but the winner was the danish. It tasted like cinnamon and the cream cheese really made it into a complex pastry. 2) Service: It's top-notch. Despite a steady flow of customers, a worker asked if they could get my order started the moment I walked up to the glass counters. 3) Space: It's no-frills and straight out of the 1970s, which adds to the magic. I wouldn't change a thing. They also have a few shelves with a few European products for sale. There are a few window seats to enjoy your food at and an outdoor patio near the small parking lot. 4) Area: There's a lot to explore nearby from a historic Black cemetery to murals to Compass Coffee's only drive-thru location.

Mark F.

Yelp
Order a cake the day of and it was fabulous! Raspberry butter cream. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Soo C.

Yelp
A large variety of baked goods. Friendly and fast service. Places to dive into your goodies or taken them all home with you. I only got pretzels, croissant and mustard and they were exceptional. Other packaged German grocery items were available such as Jams, mustards, kraut, etc. I've been hearing about this bakery for years and was thrilled to be able to grab some of their baked goods. It was relatively busy on a Friday morning and I was in and out of there in 15 minutes with pep thank you of time to browse and get my goods. It appears that they do many phone and online orders. I saw people picking up large boxes of breads, croissants, cakes and Yule logs too. It's clear to see why this place has been around for decades

Bradley Thomas A.

Yelp
Wolfgang and Clara have really brought their neighborhood German bakery vision to life in Arlington. I can vouch for the authentic environment from my short time in Berlin! Beyond environment, the sandwiches and baked goods are truly delicious made by a staff that have invested in making the best of the best! It's easy to access, has friendly service, and charms customers the way you love! If you're looking for a wonderful Saturday brunch in a charming neighborhood German bakery, or just love delicious food and excellent service with a respectful price, I cannot recommend Heidelberg enough!

Hunter B.

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday and there was not parking there but when you walk into the store there are a lot of things to choose from. It was busy and like a deli you take a number but service was fast since there were so many people working there. There are also breakfast sandwiches and other baked goods. The prices are on the higher side for the items and the food is just ok so I would say the place is fine.

Lisa G.

Yelp
Black Forest cake is to DIE for! We drive from Gaithersburg to buy yearly! Service is outstanding and if you were closer, we'd try everything on the menu.

Ian C.

Yelp
Boom. Badda bap. Pow! This joint is so good. Bought two pies here--dutch apple and rhubarb--and brought them to a potluck. My friend and I were shortly thereafter deemed the Presidents of the Potluck by popular, unanimous vote. This morning we returned for breakfast sammiches (the croissants are bussin') and some sweets. The coffee cake and lil German pastry blew us away. Solid meal. 10/10, great service, the bakery smells like what I imagine medieval, German bakeries smelled like. Hit it up!

Luke L.

Yelp
The perfect small bakery that packs a big punch. A huge variety of donuts, including their famous "cronut" aka which is like a glazed croissant donut. They also have a wide variety of other sweets like cakes and cookies, plus a full sandwich deli in the back. I've been here 4 times now, and quite literally every single thing I've tried has been delicious. It's surprisingly cheap, every time we pile up with a ton of donuts and several deserts and our bill rarely is over $20. In all honesty, for the quality of stuff, they could really raise their prices. However I do appreciate the nostalgia of cheaper food. 10/10 bakery, we'll continue to come here and bring our family when they visit us in NOVA from out of state!

Dona P.

Yelp
Whoa I had forgotten the pedigree this place has !!!! Was in the area for a croissant and was once again blown away by the selection and variety. This place is an institution and they have some gluten free options as well! But just stepping in feels like going back in time to what exceptional family bakeries were like... the photos speak for themselves:)

Jessica T.

Yelp
Amazing pastries & patient, competent, and professional staff. We were n & out in 30 minutes with great choices including many German pastries we've never tried. Can't wait to come me back!

Victor R.

Yelp
Store was busy so waited for 10 mins to see if anyone was available, but nobody assisted. One staff even walked away after assisting a customer in front of me. Ended up leaving the store and not getting anything.

Troy M.

Yelp
OMG - one of our Thanksgiving dinner guests just brought cookies from Heidelberg Pastry. These are amazing.

Leia P.

Yelp
Best bread in the world. Trust me. I order from another state to have it shipped. Freshly Made choice yeast. delicious

Vincent M.

Yelp
Another "in the area" stop and immediately excited to go back. Don't let the crowd fool you, look around, grab a number, and order some pastries. It definitely moves quickly even with all the people. We chose a variety of donuts and a few brownies. Since we were sharing the donuts, we split them up to try more. The Boston cream was amazing, but all of them were delicious. I really want to give their sausages a try.

Shima S.

Yelp
I ordered my son's birthday cake to them two years and they did a good job designing that based what I had asked and also the stuff that I had prepared to arrange on top of the cake. They are also fair in pricing. I recommend this bakery!

Nina L.

Yelp
Great service, consistent baked goods. Quality cakes, cookies. Love the sour dough bread sliced thin. Old fashioned in just the right way.

Regina A.

Yelp
I have nothing bad to say about Heidelberg Bakery. I ordered a custom cake for a 50th birthday party and they exceeded my expectations. It was a truly custom design (coffin design - "Halfway to Death" message) and it was the talk of the town. And it was delicious with their mocha flavor icing. Is there a way to post photos on this? It came out awesome. Also, the baker and staff responded to my inquiries immediately and were able to produce this cake less than a week from ordering. I will be back many times for sure.

Gelinas B.

Yelp
Delicious sandwiches. My favorite poppy seed coffee cake - moist, tender cake with a fresh lemony flavor.

Lin J Bouvier T.

Yelp
Heidelberg in Arlington, Virginia Ästhetisch schöne und super leckere deutsche Schokoladenkuchen auf Deutsch! Heidelberg Pastry in Arlington Virginia is La Crème de la Crème of bakeries in Virginia. I'm responding to a statement my sister made in Google review Jan 10, 2024. In defense of my sister and Heidelberg Pastries there was a mistake. Human error i.e., mistake wherein cakes ordered were not those received. Mulu, the manager at Heidelberg was swift in addressing my concerns. Immediately having staff bake Black Forest cakes with the specialty liquor of the Black Forest region of Germany as initially ordered. Our Neuschwanstein and Munich family enjoyed every morsel of the Heidelberg Black Forest cake. Commenting in German . . . "Commenting in German . . . "Heidelberger Gebäck in Arlington, Virginia ist die Crème de la Crème der Bäckereien in Amerika und Deutschland. Jacqueline Bouvier Temple

Jackie V.

Yelp
Quick service & great pastries! I love to grab the almond twist & a bratwurst. Prices are super fair so you can try a few things. The bratwurst is juicy & covered in sauerkraut. I can't recommend it enough. Parking can be tough in the lot on weekend mornings but you can park on the street.

Armand L.

Yelp
The Black Forest Birthday cake was delicious and authentic. We ordered the cake and it was ready within 48hrs., only if ordered over the phone. Great service! Tausend Dank Everyone loved the cake, sadly there were no leftovers.

Gary D.

Yelp
For the last 30 years we have been buying pasteries from your store in Arlington, Virginia; especially your Christmas Stollen. We bought one Tuesday, Dec. 19th and too our surprise it was horrible. It only had raisins, it was stale. Went to slice it and it broke in half - what a disappointment. Generally, we have been pleased but don't think we will ever buy the stollen again, after purchasing it every year for Christmas. Gary Dew

Yelp
Superior Bakery with Superior Service! You are immersed in a German Food and Bakery experience when you walk through the door.

Yelp
I called to ask about availability.... The 1st person didn't understand. They transferred me and THEY didn't understand either, and hung up. Called back, manager also hung up when I asked?!? TERRIBLE phone customer service. Their food is great, don't expect ANY help by phone.

Ariel B.

Yelp
Got my boyfriend some pastries for his birthday and he's obsessed. We'll definitely be back! Lol

Elle H.

Yelp
Ordered a custom birthday cake for a special party, and Heidelberg was absolutely the right choice! The cake was not only show stoppingly gorgeous but tasted absolutely incredible. We did a vanilla cake with raspberry jam between the layers and buttercream icing. This was all topped with beautifully crafted fondant to create a very fun and memorable cake- the birthday boy was thrilled!

Angela K.

Yelp
Very very delicious cupcakes. I ordered the dozen cupcakes and requested a message to be written on the box and everything was delivered perfectly! I had the red velvet cupcake and it was so yummy. The cream wasn't overly sweet and the cake portion was moist and balanced well with the cream. However I will say that a dozen cupcakes was a little expensive (around $4-5/cupcake)

Gail B.

Yelp
Always love stopping into Heidelberg for individual treats like cupcakes and cookies, so when we were planning a custom cake for a friend's birthday, we knew Heidelberg could make it happen. I called into the bakery and spoke with someone about what we were looking for, referenced flower work from one of their cake gallery pictures, sent over pictures of the sugar skulls to replicate, and the result made the birthday girl so happy. They turned around the order in a few days and had a ready to go on the day of the party. Great experience working with them, and loved the final product both with looks and taste!

Robin C.

Yelp
Love this place! Our favorite are the petits fours which at more than $2 each for a teeny tiny multi-layer cake square with almond paste and fondant on it is well worth it. For years all my oldest wanted as her birthday cake was as many petits fours as her age which by the time she got to 20 was a bit much. However, the skill needed to make these is well worth the cost. The cakes are a favorite of my youngest and the dinner rolls are fabulous. Well worth a trip!

Victoria V.

Yelp
The best pastry shop in the area! Everything is a absolutely magical and delicious. Everyone needs to visit this amazing shop! The chocolate croissant is my favorite!

Amy J.

Yelp
These people are top-notch. They did our wedding cake back in 1994. It was beautiful and everyone said that it was the best wedding cake they've ever had. It was a vanilla cake with a raspberry filling and a marzipan covering.. they have delicious pastries, andcronuts on the weekend. They have superb eclairs and they also have delicious breads with a great variety..

Cassie P.

Yelp
Wow!!! Great bakery and super friendly staff. Everything we got was delicious. They had a new summer key lime dessert- lucious! Plus the day old pies were a killer deal! We strongly recommend.

Jay S.

Yelp
OMG, this place is a hidden gem! I visited this location on Fat Tuesday. The bakery and bakery staff were extremely welcoming and offered a variety of sweet options. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !! p.s. I found the baby in my King Cake :)

Phantom M.

Yelp
Love a local bakery that has been around forever. First time here and it was definitely worth the trip. The variety is amazing! You can have lunch there along with any dessert. The cakes and pastries looked fantastic and tasted even better. Definitely a bit pricey, but the quality is there.

Meredith A.

Yelp
We've been going there for YEARS and it never disappoints. The breakfast sandwiches, deli sandwiches, fresh grilled brats, pastries- we love all of it! It's a bit of a drive for us (thank goodness- otherwise, we'd be there every day and we'd weigh 5,000 lbs. each!) but we make the trip whenever we can because it's just so good! I am obsessed with their petite fours (even my husband loves them and he usually hates petite fours!) and their cakes are rich and delicious (I especially love their birthday cakes). The service is amazing. It's always crowded when we go, but we've never waited longer than 3-5 minutes for assistance because they just have so many people hustling behind the counter. (Seriously, these folks are fast. Friendly, too!). Whenever I want something really special, this is where I go, because I know that whatever I buy will be a huge hit with my family and friends.

Lauren C.

Yelp
Oh gosh, where do I begin?! This big pastry shop contains such a variety of German/EU delights. The donuts were light and fluffy just the way that I like them! I guess I went on a good morning since everything seemed to be baked fresh, it smelled so homey in there. Only reason why I gave 4 stars is because the pumperknikle bread was tough, even when I toasted it. At first it seemed pretty heavy, but I guess the bread was not the best choice? Besides that, everyone is friendly and at your service. It was packed as well so that's a good sign :)

Yelp
Today I went to this bakery and it's only the 2nd time in 26 years I have been there. The staff is very friendly and helpful . We ordered breakfast sandwiches , but unfortunately the croissant was very soggy because they put it in that micro oven for to long . My bagel also was soggy . As a German with Garman taste , I could not believe the amount of sugar they use , that is a not typical of German baked goods . With so much sugar you cant taste the product only sugar . In todays age of high percentages of Diabetes , they should not add so much of that white stuff . You are a German , you should take an example of yours and mine country . Thank you . When you use less sugar , then I will be back . Viel Gluck mit den neuen rezepten !!

Yelp
It has been years since I had been there. They offer bakery items, deli service and German goods. It was around 1 on Friday. It was busy and a bit chaotic. Were people using tickets, some were, some just lined up. I wish it was more organized, I asked others and they did not seem to know and they blamed people getting their lunch. I wanted hamentaschen, which they had, even a day after the holiday. Several flavors. And some cookies. Both pretty good but not so fab that I will run back. but pretty good. If you want German goods, check them out.
