"When in West Dallas (or at Love Field), stop at Heim for a barbecue lunch. Go by the pound on your favorite meats, or order up a platter. The sandwiches don’t miss either, especially the BBQ Snob, which combines a jalapeño cheddar link, half a pound of chopped brisket, and bacon burnt ends on a jalapeño bun." - Courtney E. Smith

"Smoked meat sensation Heim Barbecue has officially arrived in Dallas, which means that barbecue enthusiasts won’t have to make the trek to Fort Worth any longer for an order of bacon burnt ends. Situated at 3130 West Mockingbird Lane in the space that formerly housed Mockingbird Diner, just a stone’s throw away from Love Field, Heim’s first Dallas location is seriously expansive. It occupies more than 5,000 square feet, and the aesthetic is modern Texas barbecue joint, with non-nonsense tabletops and steel chairs scattered throughout the space. Outdoors, there’s a patio that sports a line of canopy-covered bench seating for patrons looking to enjoy their brisket al fresco. Those who are familiar with Heim’s offerings at the Fort Worth locations will be pleased to see that the menu remains mostly unchanged for the Mockingbird outposts. Smoked meats by the pound, sandwiches, and sides like green chile mac and cheese and twice-baked potato salad. Breakfast tacos are available in the morning, and there’s also burgers and corn dogs on the menu for folks who aren’t feeling barbecue. Now open, Heim is already attracting (socially distant) lines Wednesday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. If you want bacon burnt ends, get there early." - Daniel Rockey

"The long-awaited Dallas outpost of Heim Barbecue, one of Fort Worth’s most beloved purveyor of brisket and bacon burnt ends, will finally debut this week. Owner Travis Heim tells Eater that the restaurant is set to open its doors on October 22, with a grand opening shindig planned for October 28. As previously reported by Eater, Heim will take over the space formerly occupied by Mockingbird Diner at 3130 West Mockingbird Lane, joining the restaurant’s two Fort Worth outposts — one on Magnolia Avenue, and a second in the River District. Those who haven’t made the trek to Fort Worth for Heim Barbecue can expect barky brisket, snappy sausages, and of course, the famed bacon burnt ends. Breakfast tacos in the morning, plus sides like mac and cheese, beans, and more traditional barbecue accoutrements are also on offer. Don’t be surprised if there aren’t lines at the brand new Heim Barbecue when it debuts this week — they weren’t uncommon in Fort Worth, and Dallasites have been dying to get their hands on these smoky proteins for months." - Amy McCarthy

Heim Barbeque is a convenient option if you are flying in or out of Love Field. I had the jalapeño cheddar sausage sandwich with fries. I also tried my companion’s brisket. I liked the sausage but it didn’t blow me away. I think the bread got in the way. I think different bread would work better than what I had. It was too sweet. The brisket was about the same . It wasn’t bad, but just ok. I think if you are a local, you would probably explore other options first. I also think if you don’t eat barbecue regularly, you will enjoy it. Still, it’s decent and convenient. Check out Heim and tell me what you think.

It’s been a few years since last eating here and I remember it being so good—the first time having their bacon burnt ends was one of the best things I have ever eaten. This time did not match that memory; while the burnt ends were definitely the best things on my plate and were tasty, everything was just slightly lackluster. Brisket texture was good but a little flavorless, Hurtado has a much richer, smokier taste. Sausage was good, sides also, if a little inconsistent. All the meats were slightly south of lukewarm in temp; not quite cold but not as expected. Service was very good—fast, friendly.

Staff was amazing. Service was quick. Restaurant is industrial chic. The brisket was tender and delicious. Meat didn’t have a lot of flavor. The sauce was excellent. Okra was so so. The twice baked potato salad was amazing. Highly recommend.

Google
So I got to be honest. I decided to try this place because i saw it on TikTok lol. I'm always looking for new places to eat and try the food and this place looked delicious. We went with the whole family and ask of us quite enjoyed it. I got the 2 meat plate with brisket and burnt ends. Green Chile mac and cheese and onion rings. The meats were delicious. I kinda like my burnt ends a little more crispy but they were still delicious. I wanted to try the deserts but we were so full that I didn't even attempt to. 100% would recommend if your looking for a great BBQ to eat. And a great environment for the whole family.

Google
We found ourselves down near Love Field around lunch time so we stopped into Heim's Barbecue for the first time. The entire experience was top notch and will definitely eat here again. Taylor picked the one meat plate with two sides, sliced brisket with okra and green chili mac and cheese. I got the same plate, sliced brisket with green beans and mac and cheese. Everything was delicious, hot and very tender. My personal rating scale for a good brisket is one that doesn't need anything else on it, perfect straight out of the smoker. The house made bbq sauce is very nice too, I put it on the green beans. An outdoor patio is available, a must for us and our dog Buddy. He will definitely be joining us the next time we visit.

Google
The atmosphere was great. Love me some country music.. Staff was kind and polite. Gabriel and Chris were awesome. I loved the food but I need the jalapeño sausage to be a little hotter. The pulled pork was a little dry but was good. My wife loved the bacon burnt ends and the brisket. Ribs were good but I thought they would be bigger. My wife and I loved the mac and cheese... thank you.

If you’re a Texas BBQ virgin then Heim’s is the place to go. Gently break into the BBQ experience with their quick service and delicious selection of meats of all sizes snd portions. I tried their three meat selection and it did not disappoint as every bite was bursting with flavor. The service was friendly and fast. Prices were very fair, especially compared to competitors. Once your first experience is done however, they are quick to bus your trays and send you on your way.

Met up with old friends for dinner. When you walk in, the smoked smells envelop you like a hug. Everyone enjoyed the BBQ, salad, macaroni and cheese, and beers that we ordered. Huge, open dining area made for easy seating for our large-ish group. Loved the merch so much, I had to get a t-shirt! The outdoor seating is roomy, but a little too chilly for us. Hope to come back to try it!

Yelp
I am going to start out by saying you get what you pay for. And Heim certainly isnt cheap, but by far it has some of the best meat we have had at a BBQ place in DFW. For 2 sandwiches, 2 sides, 1 drink and a dessert it was over $50. BUT it was more than filing and the food was quality. My favorite part is the mac and cheese which has a little kick to it!

Yelp
Location Across from Dallas Love field off Mockingbird. Parking Large lot Atmosphere Local Dallas bar b que spot-casual self serve/order at counter Seating Tables, chairs-can be re-arranged depending on party number. Service Order at the counter. Pickle and onion bar. Menu There's a one, two, three meat choice and family meal. We had the brisket with mac n cheese/ fries and pulled pork with slaw and collard greens. The fries could've been cooked more. The slaw was coarsely chopped purple cabbage and carrot strings. Not the best but fresh. The collard greens were outstanding-generous portion and delicious. The brisket was moist and seasoned perfectly. The pulled pork-excellent-melted in our mouths! Also generous portions of each. Self serve Fountain drinks and alcohol. Bbq sauce on the table. Summary Two friends told us to check out this restaurant and we were not disappointed. Outstanding selection of meats and sides. Brisket better than pulled pork. Enjoy!

Yelp
Decided to stop in mid errand run. I love smoked turkey so I went with the turkey breast sandwich. Also ordered a side of large fries and Cole slaw to share. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich. The restaurant is very clean and has very well organized stations. I love the touch of white loaf bread by the condiment section. The fries are perfect. The coleslaw is diff more pickled and not very mayo based. Still good. The sandwich was perfect the bread is toasted and yummy. The meat is perfect. Now that bar b que sauce on the table is fantastic. I could eat a pint of it. Haha Can't wait to go back and try the bacon ends and the Mac and cheese looks fantastic.

Yelp
Finally stopped by here for lunch, right around the corner from work. The location is a great size and offers plenty of space. They gave a lot of options available for whatever your bbq desires are. I had the brisket sandwich and collard greens. The greens were some of the better ones I've had in dallas at bbq spots. The brisket sandwich was good and juicy but the bbq sauce was overly sweet to me.

Yelp
Heim Barbecue on Mockingbird at 3130 W Mockingbird Ln, Dallas, TX 75235 I'm pretty hard on barbecue places considering I've been in Texas now for over 10 years and my hometown is Memphis, Tennessee. I have definitely ate at a lot of the top places and still there's more to eat at here in the DFW area. It was around lunch time when we came here on a Monday. Parking lot is a decent size but we were able to find parking on the right side. The line wasn't too long but there was at least half the amount of people that can sit in the building were there. My friend ordered the pulled pork sandwich and potato salad. I ordered the loaded potato skins with brisket. The barbecue sauce added an extra kick to it. My overall experience is for people getting off the plane at Love Field and going back home right after This would be their stop just to taste Texas barbecue .

Steph T.

Yelp
I had a friend come through town that had a super long layover at Love Field, so it was the perfect opportunity to hop across the street and enjoy some Texas barbecue. I do think the taste of the food is better at their south side location, but the food was still very good. The cashiers were super friendly, and made sure to bring our drinks to the table. It was a little noisy inside the more busy the restaurant got, but the noise was moderate. The green chili mac & cheese was yummy, as was the brisket. Don't know what they put in the collard greens, but they were much spicier than I anticipated. And the onion rings were the biggest I've ever seen.

Auston T.

Yelp
I have to say - this is a good restaurant. The only reason it's three stars is because it's not quite as good as Austin barbecue. As far as Dallas barbecue goes, this is a worthwhile spot. It's a good spot to get Texas cuisine before or after a flight since it's right next to Love Field airport. It's a very good place for your first barbecue spot since it doesn't require you to sit in a five hour line or anything like that. Definitely beats anything you would eat at the actual airport, so if that was your initial plan...do this instead. It's solid.

Chris W.

Yelp
Great food and quick service! My fav is the burnt ends with collard greens and Mac n cheese. This time I had the Cole slaw which was also delicious. The burnt ends melted in my mouth and so flavorful! The food comes out quick!

Chris N.

Yelp
This place should be getting the high stars. It's clean and beautiful inside and out. The process is easy to order and has a great selection of foods sides and meats. The bar be Que sauce has excellent flavor which blends really well to their flavor profiles. Well done meats ? Not here. These are all tender and delicious.

Cassie P.

Yelp
This is a really great place to go for barbecue. The inside doesn't smell like smoke so if you just wash your hair, you don't mind going to have barbecue and actually enjoy the food speaking of the food. It is really really good. Everything is so tender and juicy, and the barbecue sauce is amazing as well It's the type of place where you go in and order at the counter pay and then go sit yourself down as they make the food. They'll call your number and you get up and go grab it. Go back to your table if you need anything else, you've got to go back up to the counter and wait to speak with somebody, but it really isn't that bad there the staff really great I definitely recommend this place

Jerry W.

Yelp
First off, the decor of the restaurant is urban modern and very clean. The roof, however, does tend to leak. Surprise! As for the staff, they were very good. Helpful and friendly, they went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. My wife ordered the bacon burnt ends, and they were amazing. I got the rib plate, and while they were equally tasty, they were a touch on the chewy side in places. As for the sides, we shared the cole slaw and the potato salad. Both were very good, but it would help if the cabbage were cut a bit smaller. Either way, it was all tasty.

Jessica L.

Yelp
Had an amazing Texas BBQ experience at @heimbarbecue, home of the bacon burnt ends! My mom's flight was delayed so this location right outside of Love Field Airport was the perfect spot to feed my belly while I waited for her. Here's what I got! Bacon Burnt Ends- I was blown away by how tender and perfectly seasoned they were, bbq sauce definitely wasn't needed at all! Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage- Just the right amount of heat, plump, and savory! Collard Greens- Addicting, cooked perfectly with just a slight hint of sweetness. Twice Baked Potato Salad- Flavor packed and creamy just like I like it! I know Texas is known for its BBQ, but until I visited Heim hadn't been to a Texas BBQ spot that really impressed me much. Heim does it right! Way to represent!! I can't wait to dine again.

Chris H.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour. Chris at the counter recommended the sampler, the chicken, the pinto beans and the banana pudding. We had all of them and all were great. The brisket could have been better since it was kinda dry but everything else, including the loaded potato skins were delicious . My beer was cold and the service was good but unfortunately they forgot my chicken. Chris hooked it up again and gave me my chicken to go. I recommend going to this place and hitting the happy hour!

Yelp
So this is a newer place near the Dallas Love Airport. It's a cool looking restaurant and is always busy with people who work around that area. This isn't my first time to here since when I stay in Dallas it seems to be at the hotel right next to this place. The BBQ overall is good, is there better in Dallas? I think so, but it's a solid bbq joint that I think will make you smile and make your tastebuds dance. This time around I got the sliced brisket sandwich with onion rings. The sandwich came with about 1/2 pound of thick cut brisket on it. The brisket was very well seasoned and has a great smoke flavor without overpowering the taste of the brisket. There was a mix on my sandwich of the point and the flat and I will have to say that the flat was a little dry, drier than a flat should be. But over all a great sandwich. I threw on some onions and pickles and some of their awesome bbq sauce. Their sauce is tomato based but has a vinegar kick and isn't too spicy but has a little to let you know it's there. Overall a solid sandwich. This will set you back at $16. The onion rings looked amazing and so I had to try them. They are homemade, hand dipped onion rings. They are huge! I was so excited about them. Unfortunately if I was eating just the rings it would be maybe 3 stars. They had great crisp to them but no flavor. No seasoning in the batter they used, no seasoning when they came out of the fryer and a little greasy when you ate them. They could use some help. Solid performance I will be back again because it's close and it's good.

Jason K.

Yelp
The food is always great here. Legendary has it the owners worked at Franklin. I don't know about that, but that's what people say. The atmosphere is very casual and low key. The service is basically nonexistent by design. You order at the counter, they call your number. You get your own refills. I don't mind the extra steps as they help burn off some of the 16,000 calories you'll eat. We went last, close to closing time, so they were not at their best. I find the food is usually best around lunch. The burnt ends are the star of the show. Always love the brisket, but it felt like it had been sitting. Usually it is better. Maybe it was an off night. All in all one of the best bbq spots in Dallas.

Jeff T.

Yelp
Seeing this restaurants 2019 pitmaster award, I am happy to have tried their brisket. I have to come back the next time I fly to Dallas love airport! Though I only had a 1/4 lb of brisket, I had a lot of smoked flavor -especially burnt ends. The green chile mac and cheese was spicy good and unique. It's not simply peppered, as I can taste the chile in each bite. The servers were very welcoming and even gave me a compliment. This is encouraging for me wanting to come back with a happy atmosphere! I can't wait to bring friends and family to one of the top BBQ restaurants!

Aisha B.

Yelp
The rib was modish and tender, not a fan of the Mac and cheese it tasted like water. I like that you can get your own bread and condiments, but I wasn't a fan of the bread just sitting open on the counter and the flies were coming in from outside, maybe if they would have it in a closed container. Part of the brisket was moist and tender and the other part was dry. Overall it was a nice atmosphere and clean place. But f I were to go back I would definitely get the ribs.

John B.

Yelp
Late in the evening, and they still had some meat! So rare for a good BBQ joint. Heim is one of my favorite DFW area BBQ joints. The burnt ends are always my go-to. I was hoping for brisket, but wasn't holding my breath as I know that usually doesn't last into the evening. Instead I had the Texas sausage. Good, but nothing to rave about. For sides I went with the pinto beans and coleslaw. The beans are soupy, just how I like them. And the coleslaw I couldn't remember if I liked or not. Luckily, I do like them here. Real crunchy and good flavor in the dressing. I'm also a fan of their house BBQ sauce. Great location right next to DAL Love Field. Perfect as I was staying at the Aloft and it is within walking distance. If you are in Dallas or Fort Worth, give Heim a shot. Always good food and always good service.

Latoya H.

Yelp
Heim Barbecue was recommended by our Uber driver as we were just getting in to Dallas. We decided to try it out, since Texas is known for their barbecue. We ordered brisket, baked beans, coleslaw and french fries. The brisket was super tender. It fell apart with a touch but it completely lacked flavor. No bark, no smoke ring, no flavor. It was also a bit more fatty than I would have liked. The coleslaw shouldn't have been called coleslaw instead shredded cabbage and carrot sticks. It had no seasoning, no vinegar, no mayo, no sugar all the basic essentials required to make a coleslaw. The baked beans had a tomato taste to them, not good at all. The French fries were great. They were fresh, hot and crunchy. The southern sweet tea didn't taste southern at all, needed more sugar. Not a good experience. Wouldn't go back.

Arn L.

Yelp
Today I returned to Heim to try their Bacon Burnt Ends as they were sold out the last time I visited. Man, were they good! Loved the fries as well. What was an added plus was the loaves of white bread available to eat with our meals. Burnt Ends, Barbecue Sauce, and white bread is a combination that should not be missed. Had myself a fabulous lunch.

Cat N.

Yelp
I ordered two meat plate with brisket and bacon ends and it comes with two sides, collard greens and onion rings. I did not get onion rings and the meat were cold when I got home. I live 5 mins away. I called them for the onion rings and they didn't answer. So annoying, I'm already starving and it's a late lunch and this is inconvenient having to deal with. It was already a long wait for to go which, I didn't understand why. People got their food faster eating there

Doug D.

Yelp
I've passed by this place many times due to flying into Love Field so I decided to finally give it a try. I like the exterior look of the building, it's bright and inviting and there is plenty of parking. I got there late in the day, and it wasn't busy. The interior of the building was very clean, I just did not like the layout at all. TV's are way too high. The tables are kind of spread out, and it was pretty dark in there. Service was fine but not inspired by any means. The food? I got a three meat plate with brisket, pulled pork and kielbasa sausage. They were out of turkey and jalapeño sausage. I have green chili mac and cheese and onion rings as sides. The sides were very good, probably 4 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed both and would order them again. The meat? It was pretty disappointing, it just had no real flavor to any of it. Probably 2 to 2.5 stars. The saving grace? The BBQ sauce was excellent, and I was really pouring it on since the meats were bland. I don't think I will be back. Just too many better options out there.

Sherhonda W.

Yelp
Amazing bbq, the bacon burnt ends is a must, the Mac and cheese and collard greens are soooo good. Sweet tea and beer is great here. Employees are polite and helpful, store is clean as well.

Cindy D.

Yelp
Let's talk meat: When it comes to brisket, Heim Barbecue knows what they're doing. Be sure to get the "sliced fatty" brisket. (My friend ended up getting the "lean" and it wasn't nearly as good). The "sliced fatty" brisket had tons of fat marbling-- it almost looked like waygu beef with all that marbling! All in all, the brisket was 5 stars for me and some of the best brisket I've had. Sides: I feel bad saying this, but the sides were more of a 2.75- 3-star experience. The coleslaw didn't have much flavor in my opinion, and there wasn't a lot to it. It consisted of red/purple cabbage and carrots which both weren't very chopped, and a light dressing which tasted like vinegar and perhaps a little mayo. The potato salad had potential, but something was missing-- it needed more of a zing. Heim team, you can verify-- but it tasted like there were little meat chunks in the potato salad. (It's not listed as being vegetarian, so I'm assuming it may have been pork). Portion size: I ordered the 1 meat, 2 sides plate. The quantity on the sides is quite generous, which is great if a) you're super hungry or b) you're wanting to split the sides with someone. If I could do it all over again, I might split the 1 meat, 2 sides plate with someone, but add about a 1/4 lb of extra brisket. Other things to consider: - Like many BBQ places, they run out of certain things. They were out of the mac n cheese when I went (darn!). If you happen to have food restrictions (i.e. vegetarian, etc), just know your options may be a bit more limited if they run out of the item you want. - The food came out super fast! We ordered and it was ready by the time we sat down. Great place to grab some grub if you're on a time schedule.

Yelp
Heim Barbecue in Dallas off Mockingbird is one of 4 Heim Barbecue locations in the area. This is an excellent location if you've just landed at Dallas Love Field (DAL). Heim Barbecue started out as a food truck, but now has expanded to multiple brick and mortar locations. If you live in Dallas, you should check it out. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Step into Heim Barbecue and look up. You'll see beautiful dark brown wooden beams that are reminiscent of a ski lodge in Colorado. The smell of smoke fills the air. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There wasn't a line of my Saturday 1 PM visit, but the restaurant was full of people and energy. 1 Star. Service - The staff is very nice. They will take time to answer your questions (we had plenty) and gave us plenty of options. Upon ordering, we were given a "buzzer" to alert as when our food was ready. We bused our own tables - I didn't see a member of the staff doing this. I mention this because other places do it to help turn tables. 1/2 Star. Food - We ordered the Family Meal (1 lbs. of sausage and 1 lbs. of brisket), a rack of pork ribs, a beef short rib, and a Heimburger. The Heimburger is a double-meat & cheese smash burger made with beef and brisket and topped with Bacon Burnt End Jam. It's served on a sweet potato roll and is one of the best burgers I've had. Although it's a little salty, the sweet bun cuts through the salty, juicy patties. The beef short rib was not what I expected - in a very good way. Unlike a normal beef rib, the beef short rib is wider and flatter. It was super tender, rich, and a bit salty. I loved it, but after a couple of bites, I threw in the towel because it was so rich. Check other Yelp reviews for brisket because I didn't try it. Finally, the sides that I ordered - Mac & Cheese and Twice Baked Potato salad were excellent compliments. However, the bread pudding wasn't good. A little disappointing, but by no means a deal breaker. 1 1/2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Heim Barbecue isn't my favorite barbecue joint, but the Heimburger is pretty darn good. Heim Barbecue is very accessible if you live in Dallas, is run by awesome people, and serves awesome food. 1 Star.

Yelp
My wife took me here for Father's Day, it was on my list for a long time so I was happy to be able to go. The ambiance is similar to a lot of BBQ restaurants in Texas--big, casual, lots of tables with paper towels, plasticware. I had the two meat platter with brisket and a pepper sausage. They were out of turkey or I would have tried that. The brisket was tender, but I forgot to say lean so I got a really fatty piece. Plus, the brisket did not have the smoke flavor of Pecan Lodge or Lockhart. The wife felt the same, it was too fatty for her and she usually likes the fatty brisket. The sausage had no pepper flavor or heat at all. I am not sure if the cashier misheard me and gave me something other than pepper sausage, but the sausage I got had no discernible pepper at all. The sides were mostly outstanding. Loved the Mac n cheese. Potato salad was excellent. I did not care too much for the Cole slaw and the wife agreed until she added salt. Service was fast. You order at the counter and they bring it out when your buzzer buzzes. We did not wait long. Overall, it was a good experience, I would rate this place below Lockhart and Terry Black's which are the cream of the crop IMO, then Pecan Lodge, which also has fatty brisket but a heavy smoke flavor.

Yelp
Stopped in after a way too long flight from OKC. Got the heimbirger, which was absolutely delicious! My buddy has a (what looked like a 17 meat combo) 3 meat combo and a banana pudding. He liked the baked beans best. I've eaten at their Fort Worth location, and this ones just as good. Sorry, but no pics, I was too tired

Mike S.

Yelp
I have been a huge fan of Heim, ever since they opened their first restaurant on Magnolia in Fort Worth. The location in Dallas does not disappoint. It is a big open barn-like structure with plenty of seating. You walk in and order at the counter, and your food is ready quickly. Everything on the menu is fantastic, especially the brisket and the ribs. Both have a delicious bark, are tender, and have that amazing smoked flavor. However, I do not want to short shrift the sausages as well as the pulled pork - also great. Don't forget the sides, especially the potato salad and mac & cheese. We also use Heim for parties. They do a great job with takeout, especially large quantities. It is an easy way to make sure all of your guests have something fun and delicious to talk about.

Jeff M.

Yelp
I had high hopes. BBQ was not good - beef dry, sausage hard, ribs meh. Maybe I will try again at a later date? Too many great bbq places in the metroplex.

Dana K.

Yelp
Went with a few coworkers and we shared the Meats Meal. On a Thursday night at 6pm they were already out of ribs so we were disappointed. The pulled pork was dry and we all thought it tasted like turkey. The brisket, sausage and greens were good, but the overall standout were the beans. Glad I finally tried Heim, but I need to try other BBQ places before I come back.

Rebecka Z.

Yelp
I stopped in for lunch today and got the Cowtown plate, with some fatty brisket, bacon burnt ends, collard greens and mac and cheese. The brisket could've used a bit more flavor but it was not bad by any stretch of the imagination, the flavors were smoky and beefy and the meat was tender and juicy but I like a bit more seasoning on my brisket overall, that's just a personal preference. The bacon burnt ends were so delicious, they were tender and very meaty and had great seasoning and a sticky, sweet sauce on them that complimented the flavor of the collard greens perfectly. The macaroni and cheese was also really good, it was nice and creamy and had some green chilies in it that added great flavor and a tiny bit of heat. Heim barbecue is always a great idea, I highly recommend it for anyone considering some great Texas barbecue.

Yelp
I have wanted to go to Heim for a while and have driven by it often! The brisket was good and the pork was good as well. The real winner was the max and cheese! While not my favorite bbq place in Texas it was good! I'll be back for the banana pudding!

Yelp
I truly had high hopes and fell very disappointed. Parking was smooth and the layout of the restaurant is nice and spacious. The staff was very friendly and helpful with deciding what to order. I had the fatty brisket and bacon burnt ends plate with mac and cheese and potato salad. My friend had lean brisket and mac and cheese and collard greens. Fatty Brisket was very salty but moist and tender. 5/10 Lean brisket was tender and had a better flavor. 7/10 Bacon Burnt Ends were perfect. Loved those! 9/10 Mac N Cheese was flavorful but lacked depth and gooeyness. 6/10 Potato salad was stone cold and bland. Honestly should be called green onion salad with the amount of them in it! 2/10 The collard greens were okay. Had a kick to them that helped out. 5/10 Banana Pudding was more like banana slop with no bananas and a mountain of nilla wafer dust. 3/10 BBQ sauce on the tables was sweet and spicy with some garlic notes. 7/10 Price for all this was $60. First impression was not well. I hope they can improve as this is a prime spot.

Yelp
The guy taking our order asked if we had been there before, we hadn't, so he recommended the bacon burnt ends and gave us a sample. Oh my goodness, they were delicious. We both got 2 meat plates, one was tender brisket and jalapeno sausage the other was bacon burnt ends and pepper jack sausage. The pepper Jack sausage was delicious as well. Onion rings were crispy and perfect, collard greens were not that great, the Mac and cheese was great. The restaurant itself was clean and plenty of seating. We went during the lunch rush and while it was busy, everything flowed efficiently. We will definitely go back. Side note, we both tried the banana pudding. It was a huge disappointment and i do not recommend it.

Yelp
Service was a little slow but the BBQ was delicious. It is clear that that this is a very loved establishment. I would go again next time that I am in town.

Yelp
BEST BBQ I'VE EVER HAD! Easy to find parking in their lot and then head to the cashier where you'll order, pay and grab a seat wherever you want. Wait for your pager to go off and then pick your food up at the counter next to the cashier. Just writing this review and thinking about the Pork Rib Plate is making me wish there was a location in SF. I didn't need any of the sauces to thoroughly enjoy it. The meat just slipped right of the bone and was perfectly seasoned. I could only finish half of my coleslaw and couldn't eat the last rib even though I really wanted to. I was so stuffed! The bacon burnt ends were recommended by the cashier and told us that was what they were known for. Reminded me of tocino. Merch like shirts and their seasonings are on display for purchase. Man...I want Heim BBQ now!

Yelp
Man I want to give this place 5 starts considering my job ordered this for lunch one day and it was AMAZING. Since then I brought my fiancé and mother here and had a disappointing experience. The macaroni was horrible. It's like they mixed new macaroni with the old. We were literally pulling the noodles out our mouths because it was so hard. The brisket was flavorless.... I am just disappointed. It was so good the first time... this last time... not so much.

Yelp
BBQ is King in Texas and there are a few places for which the name alone is the review. Heim from Fort Worth is one of those names and we finally made the trek to Love Field to go to their Dallas location to see if the reputation holds up. I love what they've done with the old Mockingbird Dinner space to "BBQ it up." To speak to the BBQ, it was fantastic. The brisket was perfectly tender with an incredible bark. And the pork ribs were the most tender ribs I've ever had. We also had the mac n cheese, but it was a little too soupy and peppery for my taste. The thing that knocked it down from 5 stars to 4 was the service. We spent a couple of minutes asking about menu items and were given the things included to great descriptions. Then , we ordered that very item only for her to say, "Oh, we're out of the bacon burnt ends tonight so you can't order that." Why spend time... multiple times...describing something we couldn't order? Even a sign on the counter letting us know that you'd run out of something would have helped. (I completely understand running out late on a Saturday night... just tell me that up front!) Then ordering the Beef Rib, she kept saying we could only get 1.49 pieces. It took me a few questions to understand she meant that they only had one Rib left and it was 1.49 pounds. Maybe she was tired after a busy night or fairly new and just needs better ways of describing what's available. Bottom line... we'll be back because someday I've got to try those bacon burnt ends.

Yelp
Very tasty bbq, ate here quite a bit while in training at SWA. Service was good. Very clean establishment for the amount of people who pass through. Would definitely return!!!!

Yelp
Just very average honestly. I also don't think the prices reflect the food quality. Did I enjoy it? There were elements. The Heimburger was tasty but could have had some more topping on it. $16 was a bit excessive with no side item on a dry burger. The greens were horrible - tasteless. The fries were edible but all in pieces and greasy.

Yelp
While Heim isn't on par with the fame and superior bbq of Cattleack, Terry Black's or Pecan Lodge, it's still quite good eatin' here. Heim is a good deal cheaper and usually not as crowded as the aforementioned BBQ spots, while not sacrificing quality. Though smaller than other bbq joints, it is very spacious and has plenty of parking. Brisket and bacon burnt ends are the to-get things here! Their meat is juicy and tender. I do personally like their pulled pork, but that has a bit mixed reviews. Their family meal for $75 gives you enough food to feed a family of 4-6 comfortably with meat, sides and dessert. My selling point is that it's right next to DAL (Love Field airport), so it's often the place I introduce visitors to Texan BBQ before hitting Deep Elum for more renowned spots. Overall, for me, it's available, comfortable, affordable, and tasty. Can't go wrong with Heim!

Yelp
If you are a person of color who wants to be ignore, Heim's BBQ is the place for you. I stood waiting for my order to be taken while the cashier has a long conversation with the guest in front of me--fine. Then a Caucasian couple walks in and they were immediately acknowledged and were assisted. I'm left standing still not helped. cashier did not apologize--only laughed at my frustration. had I not been picking up food for my spouse I would have and Should have walked out! manager said she will "talk" to cashier. Food is nowhere good enough to be treated like this.

Yelp
The burnt pork belly was simply delicious!!! Melt in your mouth goodness. The service was excellent as well.

Yelp
Get there before 5 pm if you want yummy brisket 2nd location to the Heim BBQ empire Ate here when I first landed in Dallas and got some more for the flight home. Sunday evening was packed! Larger sit down space at this location than the Fort Worth location.

Yelp
Meh. Not sure what the hype is for this place. I got a chopped brisket sandwich that was dry and not very flavorful. I liked the concept of the twice baked potato salad, but found the bacon bits and abundance of chives in it overwhelming. I'll stick to my preferred BBQ place down the street.

Yelp
This is my second visit and they never disappoint! The interior gives the chic farm house vibe and it's pretty open with outdoor picnic tables, covered and you can watch nearby plane departures from Love Field. The team is always quick and polite. Just a friendly staff, keeping it fun and friendly. As if that's not enough... the food is always great! The ribs are tender, burnt ends pack a sweet flavor and pretty juicy. The potato salad doesn't have much flavor and you get a huge scoop! The greens are some of the best in the south w/ a little kick. Don't pass this one up!

Yelp
This is the best grilled cheese I have ever had in my life! The ribs are amazing. The fries we rate a 2, pulled pork sandwich is dry. Great service. Good atmosphere. So happy

Yelp
After loving this place for a long time I'm sorry to report things have changed. The turkey was my fav but now it's dry and tasteless. The brisket was no where near as good as in the past. Also, the mac'n cheese was dry with just the slightest bit of sauce. It was totally tasteless. Ugh! Such a disappointment. Time to find another bbq spot.

Yelp
The sausage was moist and good, then the ribs were tender and flavor was just your typical old Texas style Q'. If you're in the area I recommend stop by and give it a try. The sides were okay I had got the potato salad and the green hatch chile Mac n cheese. Only reason I am giving them 3 stars is because the amount they give is slightly skimp.
