Well, stopped by the town to see the Michael Meyers house. Was very surprised by the service, awesome food, and great outside seating. Definitely will be back next year when we visit again.

Google
Great food, choices from sandwiches to salads, breads, pastries and other desserts. Its located adjacent to the South Pasadena rail, downtown in a residential neighborhood. A nice little place to visit and experience. Quiet. Great place to visit small shops, walk, nearby parks, and stop at Hairloom Cafe. They have indoor and outdoor patio seating. Quiet woth Great views and conversation with a subtitle train occasionally. Staff are welcoming. Great atmosphere. Food is plentiful and satisfying. Quality 10/10. Choices 10/10. Portion size 10/10. Atmosphere 10/10. Clean 10/10. Staff friendliness 10/10.

Stopped by during my lunch break to give this cafe a try and I was absolutely satisfied. The counter service was inviting and I loved the plethora of options for food and drinks. I ordered the vegan burrito and it’s definitely one of the best burritos I’ve had- a great blend of vegan proteins and healthy carbs. My sugar free vanilla latte hit the spot! I’ll definitely be returning again.

Went here for breakfast the first time a few days ago and I didn't know what to order, but the lady taking orders (Sunny/Sonny) helped me so much! I said I wanted something flavorful and she recommended the chilaquiles and also recommended the smaller half size because the full plate is pretty large. I love how eager she was to help me and understood exactly what I wanted because the meal was perfect!!! I was so happy that I listened to her -- the food melted in my mouth and the flavors were incredible. I also asked Sunny/Sonny if they had water and even though it was in a jug where customers are meant to get water themselves, she offered to bring me some, which I thought was really sweet. Very good customer service, lively ambience (especially in the morning), and amazing food. I will definitely be coming back thanks to Sunny/Sonny!

Google
Love this local place but teas and bottled drinks, pies, pastries, specials, soups don’t have any prices. You have to ask about each item.

Google
Food was very tasty. Burrito was very filling, notably the salsa tasted very fresh. We also got a red velvet cupcake and an apple pie bar to go, both of which were also good. Place gets a little busy but it's overall a nice chill vibe.

Google
A lovely cafe with the sweetest staff ever. These ladies are so friendly and attentive! Very cute with a decent amount of indoor and outdoor patio seating. Parking can be a bit hard to find, there are some lots and street spaces nearby. There’s a bathroom outside too, just ask staff for the door code. Decent prices and decent food. The quiche of the day was flavorful with great texture, and the Spanish latte was excellent. Would recommend and definitely go back

Google
I stood in line forever waiting for someone to take my order. And nobody came. People looked at me and all running around completely careless of a customer waiting. And then they said they were super busy but I was waiting for a good 15 minutes for someone to take my order. They were rude also, so it wasn’t like I wasn’t patient and they were so nice and accommodating. I also have to say that I paid 25.00 for chilaquiles and a coffee, which is not cheap. It’s hard to give business to places like this, and I honestly do not see how they can survive long term with such a chaotic service.

Yelp
This review is long overdue. I may be biased because (1) I live really close and (2) I think Sally is awesome! Staying with the food, everything from the pastries to the sandwiches to the soups are delicious. My go-to is the turkey meatloaf sandwich. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming. They get pretty busy on weekends and get bogged down, but they try to keep things moving the best they can. The ambiance is great! Just know that you're across the street from the metro rail so expect some noise from the metro passing by if you're sitting outside. If you have kids they'll love it.

Yelp
I live nearby and love the BLT (1/2 order) - which is massive, really nice bacon and sourdough toast. Recently I ordered a "surprise bag" from Too Good to Go from Heirloom and it was amazing - probably day-old pastries but they were still yummy and fresh. The bag contained the spinach and mushroom croissant, a piece of key lime tart, a bran muffin and an apple pastry that had a layer of almond paste.

Kristin L.

Yelp
This is my favorite place in South Pasadena and I go there every Sunday morning for breakfast. The staff is great, the ambiance is charming, and Sally makes THE BEST croissants and pie!!

Yelp
This place is really good! I love to visit on a weekend morning. It's right across from Jones Coffee.

Yelp
Awesome local bakery and cafe. It has inside and outside seating. Close to metro parking structure. Therefore, parking is free and available. They have friendly staff and food are delicious. Definitely a great place to grab breakfast and brunch

Donna A.

Yelp
The ambiance was so nice, the nature all around the restaurant makes you feel so relaxed it's very pleasant. The service was nice and the food delicious

Yelp
You must try Heirloom Bakery. The overstuffed sandwiches are amazing. I had the BLT. Delicious, fresh homemade bread and perfectly crispy bacon. My friend loved her breakfast sandwich, my brother raved about his turkey sandwich too. We had the option to order a 1/2 sandwich. I may do that next time! Cheerful service We greedily shared the pumpkin muffin and almond croissant the staff included as a thank you. Will definitely return.

Yelp
Set in quaint, beautiful South Pasadena, this somewhat quirky restaurant prepares a variety of Pasadena style breakfast and lunch items. It's mostly porch dining with some tables indoors. Service is mostly on your own for ordering at the counter, getting your own water and busing your dishes. Portions are large and filling, but they have 1/2 sandwiches. I got the soup and salad lunch special and my husband got the Asian Chicken Salad. The soup is also known as Rumford Soup and is similar to the Jewish packaged one with dried beans, peas and barley. I didn't like the addition of herbs, but that seems to be the style of cooking appreciated here. The Vegan salad was a great choice and enough for two very large meals. The hummus dressing was light and delicious (no strange herbs, thank goodness) and was complemented nicely by the pieces of roasted cashew. My husband liked the Asian Chicken salad, but I didn't try it. The coffee was flavorful and not burned tasting. I should have asked if they sell the beans or where I might get some. The brownie was rich and fudge-like. We were satisfied with small pieces, so it will last a while.

Yelp
Very nice Bakery and more. Really like their pastries and the ambience. It's my new place to go for coffee since Nicole's Cafe sadly closed down.

Yelp
The shop workers were very kind and good people. But the cashier woman had a bad attitude and seemed to be racist. It's a very crowded shop, and I know it's popular, but depending on the worker of the store, it can be good or bad. It was a pity. The sound in the store was very loud. But the latte was the most delicious.

Yelp
Heirloom Bakery (est 2005) is a corner local breakfast, lunch, cafe and pastry shop located at Meridian ave in So. Pasadena. They are literally in front of the MTA Gold line station. I came here today for brunch. I was warmly greeted by a young female staff. I told her it's my first time and she kindly showed me the menu. I decided to order one of their Specials. Veggie omelet, cafe au lait and orange juice. I liked my food and drinks. Indoor/outdoor atmosphere were relaxing. Their indoor seats were limited, however, they have more tables outdoor. Service was on point. Staff was cordial and professional. Prices seem economically fair. Side street parking and free public lot next to the cafe are available. Overall, I had a good meal and dine-in experience. I recommend this bakery and cafe restaurant.

Yelp
Walked here for breakfast on a rainy day and it seemed very popular! I ordered an iced raspberry latte and it was absolutely perfect. Not a lot of places have raspberry flavoring but it's always a hit and not too sweet. I also ordered the breakfast burrito with potatoes. I did like the burrito but the beans were sopping wet and overpowering so it instantly collapsed after one bite. I recommend asking for less beans or if they were drained better before being placed in the burrito. I ended up eating it with a fork+knife and it was good that way!

Yelp
Still a big fat 5. Came for lunch and discovered that their hibiscus tea is amazing!!!! So good. Also highly recommend the Asian salad. One of the best.
google avatar

Yelp
The carrot cake was tasty. But ordered the breakfast salad. BIG MISTAKE. the poached egg and bacon were nice. but the cup of dressing made it virtually inedible. for the price. Get your ratios right. The bus lady recommended ordering the dressing on the side... great advice after the fact. And brought me a plate of lettuce but honestly didn't help much. very disappointing.

Yelp
Cute little cafe right by the train station I love my neighborhood. Beautiful place great community with great unique food options.

Yelp
I will never go to this place again, even though they are very close to me. Waiting time was exorbitant even though I was right there in front of them. Twice! I gave them a second chance about a year later and nothing had changed. Food was good but the wait was crazy. Food was always ready too, just up on a high shelf with myself in eye's view of all of them, including the manager or owner, or both. Have not been back since.

Yelp
WELCOME BACK, SALLY!!! I heard the original owner returned, and I noticed the TV monitors were gone, so we stopped in for lunch on our way home from jury duty. It was as if Mom came back to feed us. We had: French Chicken sandwich Mac & cheese Green Goddess pasta Chocolate cupcakes Key Lime pie It's probably a little silly how happy I am to have Heirloom back the way it's supposed to be.
google avatar

Yelp
Everything we had was delicious. The scones had such wonderful flavor and texture we had one with lavender and I believe dried currents. we also shared a spinach and mushroom croissant, which was absolutely delicious. We also had a spinach muffin, which was yummy and savory, but definitely can't stand a torch against the croissant .We will definitely be returning for more delicious treats, including some of their prepared foods aside from baked goods.

Yelp
Came to this place a while back, great service and food. Haven't been in a while so decided to stroll over today, but the service was mediocre. The cashier looked like he'd rather be somewhere else. My sandwich contained something that was not listed on the menu that I'm allergic to. Pretty disappointing that I paid $15 for a sandwich I can't even eat. Please list all ingredients in the sandwich. FYI, I have an avocado allergy, hopefully I wasn't charged more for the avocado.

Yelp
I come for the Sweet tooth in my belly!!! Brown Sugar Butter Scone Blueberry Muffin Homemade Ding Dongs!!! You rang!!??
google avatar

Yelp
Came in for a comforting meal soon after fires, and they were so nice to us. Smoked turkey and brie was a warm welcome. Mexican chocolate pie was light and sweet. Also tried Colonille tea which was a unique Vietnamese tea with French vanilla.

Yelp
Was visiting LA Mother's Day weekend and saw this cute little cafe and decided to give it a go. I wish I had read the reviews before having my sister in law and niece meet there because the service was terrible. The drinks were ok and the food wasn't the greatest. The decor was cute but that doesn't make up for inattentiveness from the staff and after waiting what seemed like an hour and going inside to find out what was going on with our food did I get yelled at "was it bakery or food" and when I answered bakery they were like whatever about it. For me, service is big so asking me with a rude tone what I ordered just wasn't it for us. I was embarrassed for bringing my family here and I was more embarrassed when they tried to shame me for not knowing the difference of what I ordered. Sorry. Bakery. Food. Whatever. I don't care what you consider it but I guess my cold ham and cheese croissant wasn't food but bakery items so it didn't matter that it took an hour to get us our stuff. If I could give zero stars I would.
google avatar

Christine S.

Yelp
We live super close by and go at least twice a week. The pastries and reheatable to go options are the best. The breakfast is good to ok depending what you get . They need to improve their ordering check out service ASAP. I normally don't care to rate a place but on multiple occasions they are slower which is fine but then can be rude mainly because things are not organized in front area.

Yelp
This place is not cheap, but the quality is really worth it. I feel great after I eat here, never leaves my stomach feeling icky like a lot of other restaurants these days. The bacon was the best bacon I've had in ages. Simple, but tender and not crispy(how I prefer my bacon).
google avatar

Yelp
I have a weird craving for carrot cake, especially for the cream cheese frosting and decided to pop in while I was in the area. Parking is not great here - I had to circle around to place 2x to find a spot. Carrot cake did not disappoint and could possibly be the best carrot cake I've ever had. It comes in the form of a giant cupcake and they are generous with the cream cheese frosting. This carrot cake had walnuts so beware if you have any nut allergies, but cake itself was so moist and sweetness level was acceptable for someone who hates sugar and thinks everything is too sweet. The cream cheese frosting was amazing and was a good balance for the barely sweet cake. 10/10 recommend the carrot cake. This was the only thing I tried here and I would come back for it. It wasn't too busy on a Sunday afternoon but staff/service was not the best. The lady who was at the register looked like she didn't want to be there and did not say a word when I was up next to order. I ordered and she gave me my carrot cake and that was it. Other than that, this place looked like a really cute spot for brunch. It was small inside but there were quite a few tables on the patio for seating.

Yelp
Very quaint place. Such a good variety of food and excellent pleasant staff. Ordered the carrot cake muffin which was quite good Love the frosting ! They have an extensive menu with so many items one cannot help to find something they like

Yelp
This place is awesome! I LOVE their LEMON ANYTHING!*LEMON POPPY SEED MUFFIN,SOFT,TENDER ABSOLUTLY DELICIOUS! Sliced iced lemon bread! lemon cookies were delicious, so were the oatmeal raisin cookies, very spice infused cinnamon, nutmeg, soft plump raisins, reminded me of my mom's homemade... & you must try the iced red velvet cupcake!!! The icing is cream cheese/buttercream infused frosting ...the taste is absolutely breathtaking! The swiss cheese and ham croissant was delicious also, it was my son's favorite... I can't wait to taste every single thing they make!!! The people that work there are so kind ... I really enjoy their shop... I highly recommend if you're ever in that part of Pasadena. 'Buy you some joy!"

Yelp
I was asked to go out this morning for a specific brand of noshing and general merriment that has been lacking for the past several years thanks to covid and my cancer diagnosis. It felt amazing getting back out there, I loved my grilled Panini and the Esthetic of the little Cafe... now, of course, I got back home and collapsed in bed for a few hours... but I dared to venture out and throw "caution" to the wind... lol. I give today's outing a solid 2 thumbs up Thanks, everyone, for making my first real reintroduction to the outdoors a pleasant success!

Yelp
All time favorite for sandwiches & breakfast nice community cafe . Food is consistently good

Yelp
After a year in Pasadena and many trips to Heirloom Bakery, I must thank everyone there for preparing delicious take-out sandwiches in a space where eating on their terrace is also a nice option. It is an excellent option for morning coffee (I get one while I wait for my take-out order to be completed), or for lunch especially on a pleasant day. They are closed in the evening.
google avatar

Cassie N.

Yelp
I grew up coming to heirloom, and even though I've moved almost 30 miles away I'll make a trek here any day. They make the absolute best red velvet cupcakes in all of Los Angeles. I love the cream cheese frosting, and the cupcakes have the perfect balance of cocoa and moistness. All the pastries are delicious. This is a perfect place for brunch and a date if you want to catch up with an old friend and then stroll around Mission Street afterwards. I love heirloom!

Bill And D.

Yelp
Ambiance and food were fine. Inattentive and delayed service from folks who appeared to want to be elsewhere.
google avatar

Yelp
An perfect gluten free option for me to grab on my way to work on the A Line and the coffee is soooo good. No hype. Just great clean food.

cynthia c.

Yelp
I love this place... especially the old fashioned pastries, tarts and pies. Coconut cake is occasionally available and that is my fav. Sally makes pies in season, too, like when peaches come out in the spring and summer. The eggs and quiches are delicious and wholesome. I have ordered quiches for parties and that worked well. These are large and rich quiches, with a crust good enough to eat on its own. The coffee here is also consistently good, even just the plain old black coffee. My only problem here is deciding what to eat.
google avatar

Yelp
Heirloom Bakery was wonderful in every way! Because it has outdoor seating, I could bring my dog. They even asked if my pup needed water! The breakfast menu is incredible and portions are generous. I loved the egg sandwich. It was HUGE and so delicious. The other people I went with had only good things to say about the avocado toast and vegan breakfast burrito (as meat eaters, they loved the vegan version of chorizo). At the end, we ordered pastries to take him and they did not disappoint! We could hear live music from across the street which added to the ambiance. Even though you're sitting right across from the light rail, you don't notice the sounds when a train passes. I highly recommend Heirloom for a weekend morning breakfast/brunch or to take home savory and sweet pastries.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
Food, service, and ambiance is always A+! Menu and seating are easy to navigate. Baked goods are always a special treat
google avatar

Yelp
My sister lives nearby and recommended Heirloom when I asked for an outdoor dining rec. I'm so glad we came! This is a delightful lunch/brunch/breakfast/snack/dessert spot! Our group of 9 show up and the staff let us move a table to accommodate us on the outdoor patio. The entire outdoor area is covered and shady, so even though it was around 95 degrees out, it felt perfectly comfortable. This place is very dog-friendly with water bowls (staff and customers also kept saying "don't worry" when they had to step over our big guy's body that was sticking out in the walkway). Order at the counter and they bring your food to the table (another perk with a large group instead of splitting the bill). Service was friendly. Food was delicious. In addition to the menu items, they have a bunch of prepared foods in the deli case and bakery case. All looked AMAZING. I tried a number of different items but my gazpacho soup and zucchini quiche were so good. The creamy potato salad was perfect. Someone bought a pack of cinnamon sugar crisps. So good! I want to come back next time I'm visiting
google avatar

Yelp
The key lime pie is to die for dog friendly outside patio , and walking distance to and from the train. Cool little spot in southpass
google avatar

Yelp
Grabbing a quick bite in form of a wrap. The wait was endless, but the wrap very good. Fortunately, I had asked for utensils because the juiciness would not have allowed for a handheld mouthing.
google avatar

Hannah K.

Yelp
Brought my mom here for a morning brunch and it did not disappoint! We love savory hearty foods and are coffee fiends, but also wanted to try something a little on the healthier end and shared a hearty breakfast!! -heart breakfast $11 Two poached eggs, these were well made! I'm not the biggest fan of poached eggs (but I realized this afterwards, I love a runny yoke- sunny side!) but it was still good especially with the substitute toast and tomato/beans/cheddar/rice/salsa! The beans were yummily made and very tasty with the rice and salsa mix and was easy on our digestion too!! Yay -drip coffee Did not need any cream or sugar as it was fresh and well made!! :) Overall, a great pick for brunch/breakfast and has both healthier and indulgent options alike!

Yelp
Ordered take-out on a Sunday. I called half an hour before for 3 sandwiches, the Cuban, the caprese, and chicken pesto. On the phone, the lady told me that they'll be ready in 20 mins and I showed up 30 mins later and they're not ready. This place is always packed so I expected that especially on a weekend. However, what I didn't like about it is that the cashier and front counter seemed so disorganized. At least when I was waiting in line to pay for my order, I noticed a few people in front of me kept asking for items that they ordered and the staff had missed to bring them. Anyways, I paid and went outside to wait for my order to be brought to me because it was way too crowded inside and the staff were talking over each other. I waited another 25 minutes for the Ofer to be brought out (so it took them almost a whole hour) to make the 3 sandwiches for take-out. With all the great reviews I was having high hope for the food. When I opened the boxes the presentation was not impressive at all. The Cuban was pretty salty. The filling in the caprese almost completely fell out from the baguette (and it was a pretty small portion for this one), and the bread was soggy at the bottle half of the chicken pesto (it was about 10mins since I got the order to when I opened the food). I wasn't impressed with the sandwiches, though they might have looked and tasted better if it was dine-in. However, I think their manager really needs to make the place more organized. It's way too hectic and stifling looking at the staff at the front counter and from the kitchen clamoring over each other to prepare orders.
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
What a gem of a place! Nice varied menu, delightful staff, comfortable patio. It was hard to choose, but I decided to order a Cobb salad. I got the half (love having that option) and it was very generous. Nice vinaigrette dressing, chunks of chicken, really delicious. And at my friend's suggestion, I ordered a lemon rosemary cookie. Amazing! I would go back just for that cookie.
google avatar

Sue O.

Yelp
A long overdue update! The original owner and incredible chef/baker extraordinaire Sally is back at the helm and all of Heirloom's amazing food has been returned to the quality and absolute deliciousness that only Sally can create. Love the outdoor seating, and the staff are always so kind and helpful. A perfect place for breakfast, lunch, or a tasty treat!
google avatar

Arden P.

Yelp
Never knew this place was around South Pas! It's super cute and charming, they offer indoor seating as well as outdoor seating ^^ The service was really good-you pay at the desk, then find a table. Got the breakfast sandwich for $14.50 and a fresh lemonade (it was a good amount of food for the price)!

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. We have been coming here for years and not only is the food delicious and they have a great variety on the menu, but truly our favorite part is the staff. They are warm and welcoming and it feels like you are having a meal with family. We went in to eat a few days ago and after putting ourselves on the waitlist I realized I had forgotten about a work meeting that day and didn't think we would have enough time to sit and eat. We went to take our names off the list and the host immediately got us a table and the lovely server made sure he got our order in and to us in enough time to enjoy and still make my meeting. They were slammed and still they prioritized our time crunch. Love this place and will keep coming back! Thank you Heirloom staff for being wonderful :)

Yelp
Yes, I'm back again this week!l thanks to the lure of The currant scones which are spectacularly similar to the scones of my youth from Wares creamery in Hale Village. The spinach croissant and poached eggs on toast are not to be discounted, to be reviewed upon next visit. If you like a robust rich brew, I'd skip the drip coffee, but can heartily recommend the lusciously rich latte. Worth my time to drive past twenty plus bakery cafes to get here
google avatar

Yelp
The different choices of lunch are really good! And I enjoy eating lunch with my colleagues when I work near here.

Yelp
Ive never had such a great Quiche in America, This restaurant/cafe/bakery is the best of the best. I ordered the Meat Quiche but I know for a fact if i ordered the vegetarian one It would've been amazing. 15/10 I also ordered their chocolate cupcake with white swirl frosting pastry. It is better than the real thing (if you know, you know) If you dont know what I mean by that, forget it, just know that this patry is absolutely delicious. 15/10

Yelp
Food is incredible, staff is amazing, the fresh baked sourdough bread (lemon rosemary!) is my weekly favorite for at home sandwiches. They have a great selection and you can usually find parking on the street.
