I love this place, is located on the heart of the city, it takes you back to the 19 century atmosphere, they have been open since 1858 so it has been a tradicional place for long time. Their sweets are the traditional ones, sweet quesadillas, ice cream, seco de chivo or just to have a coffe an enjoy this wonderful place.

So special. Stumbled into great food, history and even a Christmas show!

The place is very nice, or an old colonial style house. The service is fast and the staff quite attentive and helpful. I took the menu of the day, the Ceviche with coconut was fantastic, the breast with passion fruit was good, the tempura prawns had a slight chemical flavor and it would be ideal to peel them before going through the tempura dough. The coffee was terrible, the tinto de verano very good. It's a shame that in the kitchen they can't make something out of a dish when the customer asks for it I ordered the salad without onion and they told me that it was not possible, but seeing the dish it was not already mixed, It's put item by item, it was possible to omit them

We had to wait outside for a table and so glad we did. The "Saint" at the door was very welcoming, told us about the seasonal local dishes being served and even let us have a surprise taste. The atmosphere was energetic and fun. The food was delicious and prices were very fair. Servers, who were rushed off their feet, were friendly and helped us whenever asked. Don't miss this opportunity .

Fantastic food and atmosphere. Excellent service which accommodates food allergies. Our first official meal in Quito was an experience we will not forget.

This ice cream shop/café/restaurant has been around since 1858 and is well known for its helados de paila. San Agustin also serves the most typical Ecuadorian food and desserts, still made in the traditional way and at very affordable prices. The menu is extensive and can be viewed on their website, so you can have an idea as to what to expect. Many biscuits and sweets can also be purchased to go. Any doubts can be answered by the super friendly staff. This is a great place for tourists who want to experience the old city of Quito. The interior takes you back in time, with its saints and pictures of a Quito from the 19 hundreds. There is enough room to sit on the ground floor and first floor. However, it can be quite crowded during lunch hours, so if you are planning to come during lunch, it would be wise to make a reservation beforehand by phone or on their website. The restaurant is open from Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the ice cream saloon is open from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
