Overall it was a delicious experience. We arrived a bit late unfortunately due to trying to find a place to park. This restaurant is at the villa not near the other restaurants. The grounds of La Coste are beautiful, so give yourself time to enjoy.
We sat outside for a bit with our party as offered by the host. We waited at least 7 minutes for someone to bring us water and then more time for our cocktail order. It was over 30 c. Water would have been nice right away.
We sat in the main dining room next to a table with a toddler who proceeded to scream for the first 15 minutes of our lunch. I have 3 children so I understand but there were many private spaces through the restaurant where they could have sat this family and the impact of the toddler would not have been felt as much.
We sat without anything to drink as our amuse bouche was served. It was delicious, but odd that we did not have a beverage.
When we got up from the table to use the facilities, our napkins were placed folded, but touching our bread on the bread plates?! That's a bit of a nono.
As I mentioned, the food was spectacular, see the photos.
The gluten free bread trip was wonderful. Much appreciated their attention to gluten free and peanut free restrictions.
The chocolate dessert was good, but needed some acidity or tartness to cut through the sweetness. One of our fellow diners had the raspberry granita and we put that with our chocolate, it was much better balanced after that.
The extra treats were delicious, specifically the peach tart (according to my fellow diners).
Service is attentive, in English and French for our table.
