The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck Is Returning to DFW | Eater Dallas

"Returning to the Dallas–Fort Worth area for spring, a pop‑up, character‑themed café truck offers brightly colored sweets, specialty drinks and licensed merchandise during brief local appearances — it will be at The Shops at Clearfork in Fort Worth on Saturday, April 24 (10 a.m.–7 p.m.) and at The Shops at Willow Bend in Dallas on Saturday, May 1 (10 a.m.–7 p.m.). Known for drawing droves of kawaii enthusiasts on its nationwide tour, the truck brings exclusive new treats such as cookies decorated with Keroppi the frog, rabbit girl My Melody, and Kitty herself, plus new merchandise including a cookie plushie, a rainbow thermos, t‑shirts and fabric totes. Operators have added social‑distancing measures like cashless payments, and fans can follow the truck’s journey on Instagram." - Amy McCarthy

Google
The Hello Kitty Cafe was an awesome experience!! I had read the reviews here and on Yelp and was prepared to underwhelmed when my daughter and I had our traditional annual tea to celebrate her birthday in the Bow Row instead of the usual local tea treasures. My daughter wanted to try something new this year, has been a huge Hello Kitty fan her whole life, and got us reservations about 6 weeks ago. First we stood very briefly in line at our reservation time by the the donut machine which wasn't working that day I am sad to say as I would have loved to have seen it in action. We're were greeted by the most friendly gal that led us into the enchanted Bow Room. It is very cute, very pink, kinda small but I did not feel overly crowded as some have claimed, and we were given our choice between a couple of tables for two. Even after it filled up, including several children, it wasn't even that loud in the room considering the size. She then said our server would be with us in just a moment and believe me he was and thoroughly explained the menu to us telling us that we got all the food listed and a beverage of our choice, either one of the many hot teas or iced teas, sodas or lemonade I believe, but we were there for tea. I had trouble deciding and had narrowed my choice to 3 and he kindly described them to me to aid my decision and told the more popular ones, etc, very way patient. The food was very surprisingly good again after reading the reviews I was so impressed. The croissant was very flakey and fresh and that sandwich was so delicious. I really enjoyed all of the savory dishes. My daughter was not as found of the beet one but I liked it. Her favorite was the cucumber. There could maybe have been one or two more savory compared as to all the sweets. But I don't know, I was very full after eating all my savory nibbles and my strawberries and "cream" our server called it but it was the most delicious chocolate mousse, I had to take all my sweet nibbles to go. My favorite one of those was the macaroon with the apple one came in a close second. My daughter took most of hers to go too wishing she'd have not eaten the ones she had as she felt too full. So it is definitely enough food, very good, fresh tasting, and cutely presented. Plus, in comparison to the other local tea treasures similarly priced if not a little less. There were a lot of servers I noticed, at least three if not four which meant almost a dedicated server per table. Plus, the gal that seated us I noticed helped bring out food, beverages, refilled water, and brought us our to go boxes. So in saying this I can't help but say service was fantastic. Allan, I believe was our server's name please forgive me if wrong, came to check on us often, asking if we needed anything, brought more of the cute sugar Hello Kitty cubes, and kept my water glass filled (I drink a lot and even without ice it was cold enough for me). He was even able to his wizardly magic on our bill so the reservation deposit was no longer charged to my daughter but so I could pay the entire bill as it was her birthday! I am not offended that automatically add the tip and glad that they do take care of themselves as I have found some people to not be very caring about tipping. In fact I did not think their added amount was enough because of the exceptional service we received that I added more. Hopefully, this will be everyone's experience as we had such a wonderful time.

I appreciate when restaurants accommodate allergies. They had to redo our tea food because of sesame seeds. There was no delay. They replaced the breads with milk bread and it was perfect. My favorite dessert was the square almond cake with white chocolate. The other delights were too sweet but we ate them anyway. I love that the semi private room was small and away from the regular mall traffic. The teas were all lovely as we each had a full pot! I'd go again. We were pleasantly full. Since this was a surprise and my eyes were closed, the staff said "welcome to cheesecake factory!" So adorable.

Had such a wonderful time visiting the Hello Kitty Cafe! All of the staff were lovely and manager John T. was so thoughtful! We loved the assortment of foods and tea in the Bow Room. Especially appreciated the vegetarian options. Every part of the meal was so well-crafted. Excited to come back soon!

Google
The experience was unique and definitely something to try once. We had to make our reservation months in advance, which added to the anticipation — but unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the hype. The croissants had barely any filling, and instead of smoked salmon, we received a bland chicken salad. I even had to ask for salt and pepper to add some flavor. At $70 per person plus an 18% gratuity, it felt overpriced for what was served. Service was friendly and attentive, but overall, it’s a one-and-done experience for me.

Google
Such a cute cafe; well-decorated and the line moves fast as well. The drink I got was super sweet, too sweet for my taste, but it was still good. Would love to try their strawberry matcha next time as the cashier said that was popular as well.

Parking was a pain in the butt cuz it's knee deep inside a huge mall and traffic is real congested. If you leave the mall within two hours the parking is free though. I just wanted to run in and see what the hype was about and it was REALLY underwhelming. Small store front with a few premade/packaged treats, some drinks made to order, and a few items of merchandise. I didn't bother getting anything cuz none of it seemed appealing. The tea experience is advertised at $70 per person so I didn't do that either. But I genuinely expected something more. My pic is literally all you can access walking in.

Sujin H.

Google
Hello Kitty Cafe is so pretty! The cakes are super cute too. The only downside was that there wasn’t a place to sit and eat. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was really nice! Next time, I’d like to try the ice cream.

Leann H.

Google
This review is for the afternoon tea service. WHY WAS THIS $70 per person? The food was just okay and shouldn't have cost more than $25. -Sandwiches: Not really sandwiches. They gave us cucumber half-sandwiches, some hummus on a silver-dollar sized piece of toast, a stale croissant, and some sub-par egg salad. -Sweets: I was expecting to get some similar sweets that they sell out in the cafe, but they were completely different. A way-too sweet tart, a strawberry macaron and a sugar cookie. The meal also included tea and a strawberry fruit cup with whipped cream (which our server forgot to bring us). I know they just recently opened, but service was also very poor. The food came out quickly, but then we waited a very long time for our check (even though it wasn't that busy and there were a lot of servers). While everyone was friendly, I wish they could've been more attentive. Bathroom was out of toilet paper and paper towels. For $70 per person, plus a gratuity that they add for you, it needs to be much better. Putting a bow on some mediocre food isn't enough.

Yelp
Great experience! Just what you hope for in relation to Hello Kitty. Our server Kaylee was welcoming and attentive. Sam stopped and spoke with us and answered multiple questions. All staff were attentive and seemed to be ready to help. The drinks and food were really good which you hope for when going for the experience. The manager John was very kind and friendly when I had wanted to make it known how great of an experience we had and to compliment the staff. Definitely want to return again.

Yelp
I visited the Hello Kitty Café for my birthday and did the evening tea experience. The café was super cute with fun pink decor and really detailed desserts. I had the strawberry tart and a hot chocolate, and my friend got the tiramisu. Everything tasted great on its own, but together it was a little too sweet. It was interesting that the evening tea didn't actually come with tea. The server was really kind, and they even brought out strawberry vanilla ice cream with a candle for my birthday, which was a sweet touch. It is a bit pricey for what you get, but overall it was a fun and cute experience for a special occasion.

Yelp
Feeding into my unhealthy obsession and affinity for all things Hello Kitty is a little alarming--but here we are. The Hello Kitty Café is finally back, and it's looking cuter than ever. Don't be fooled into thinking this is just a quick grab-and-go spot; there's a hidden door that leads to a sit-down area where you can enjoy a full, adorable tea-time experience. I haven't tried the sit-down portion yet, so this review is based solely on the barista counter. I ordered the donut holes coated in cookies-and-cream powder and a hot chocolate--and as much as I love Hello Kitty, I have to be honest: I was pretty disappointed. As a certified Hello Kitty girl, you could slap a Hello Kitty sticker on just about anything and I'd probably fall for it. That said, I'm not here to sugarcoat or overhype based on bias. The hot chocolate arrived without a lid showcasing a cute Hello Kitty cocoa-powder design, which already felt like a missed opportunity. Unfortunately, the drink itself didn't redeem it--it tasted like a basic Swiss Miss instant packet. I expected something richer, creamier, and more indulgent. I mean, Hello Kitty is a cat... cats like milk. Do better. The donut holes were even more underwhelming. They weren't served fresh, and because of that, the powder barely stuck to them. Overall, they just weren't worth it. Based on this experience alone, I'd say it's not really worth going out of your way for--but I'm keeping an open mind. Once I get the chance to try the full sit-down dining experience, I'll reevaluate and update this review with my honest thoughts.

Yelp
I was so excited when the Hello Kitty Cafe finally came to the Bay Area! I did evening delights and it was still expensive for what it was.. but the experience of being there was cool! It is super cute inside so more than perfect for photo ops! Service was extremely nice and fast. We appreciated how attentive our waiter was! I got the strawberry tiramisu and I loved how it wasn't dry, but the cream was very watery. However, my bf got the matcha tiramisu and his cream top was fine, so I am not sure if it was just inconsistent.

Yelp
One of the newest shops tapping into a beloved Japanese premium culture brand is now up and running at a popular shopping mall. Hello Kitty and Friends have been a collector thing since the 1970s. Even in the 21st century, the bow-wearing cat-headed girl -- she is actually not a cat, per canon -- remains a robust joyful immediately identifiable international brand. Btw. Do not come at me with "huh why come how she ain't a cat she has a kitty head ohh she stands upright....." I do not know; that's how they created the lore, so just please, for My Melody's sake, contact Sanrio. Arigato.. alrighty. The Café is a concept that lets guests of all ages immerse into the princess pink world of HK and her pals. Perfect for booking a special event for children of all ages. Reservations are needed for a tea service in the tea / dining room. Was here to get holiday presents. Did not really sample or eat anything although they kept busy vending beverages and snacks and treats. The young cashier was very helpful as she brought out each item I wanted to consider buying as gifts. Answering all my questions about the various memorabilia, the store itself, etc. In the end, I got some things that ought to delight the recipients. Store itself is cosy, with a small counter, display case and payment register. The actual Café section is cordoned off, and it looks like a large dining room, much larger than the front of the shop. "Have a Sweet Day" is the motto here. OK that's about it. Enjoy. Have a sweet day and sweet holidays.

Yelp
We got the anniversary mug which is so cute and a must for any hello kitty fans. . They had a lot of merchandise which I was surprised it wasn't sold out. . The tea room is reservation and I think it's like 50 per person. It's an experience I want to do in the near future. . They have your coffee drinks and lemonade drinks too. They have your cute hello kitty face on the hot latte drinks. . Overall ambiance is a win for hello kitty fan. If you are a fan this spot is a must. Thanks for reading and have a yelptastic day.

Yelp
Line up at the bakery counter, be ready to go, Check in by the treats on display below. Before long someone appears, Steps out the door and your experience is near. This spot isn't here to wow your palate. It's about the cuteness, the pink, the flair, And Hello Kitty magic everywhere. From walls to drinks to every tart, It's pure aesthetic, a work of art. Have your phone ready, you'll snap nonstop, Every angle, dessert, and table-top. The food and drinks? Perfectly fine, Not amazing, not bad, just standard café time. Hot chocolate warmed me, sweet and cozy, The strawberry tart? Cute, tasty, and rosy. You can order anything from the menu outside, Adding a cake is a fun little upgrade. Service was friendly, welcoming, kind. A smile in every interaction you find. Come for the photos, the vibe, the delight, The pink-on-pink dream done perfectly right. Hello Kitty Cafe knows exactly its lane, And in cuteness and charm, it reigns.

Yelp
Very cute but taste-wise whatever and pricey. In order of most disappointing to least disappointing: The strawberry cake - the buttercream frosting was separating from the cake. We did not finish this. The apple pie - served cold/lukewarm - dough was stuck on the bottom of the mini-pie tin and might've been better if the pie had been served warm. McDonalds' apple pie beats this. The macaron set - not bad. Comes in five different flavors. Perhaps the tea experience would've been a better experience.

Yelp
I will say the aesthetics of the place is super cute. Pink in any direction you look and the staff is friendly. To enter the bow room, you need to pay and make a reservation $30/person during the day time and $15/person in the evening. They also offer a separate menu from the regular cafe in the front. My friend and I ordered the apple pie, tiramisu, and two drinks. All were cute for taking pictures, but nothing stood out to me in terms of flavor. Price is really high for what you are paying for. I really wanted to like this place, but I can't reason with the high prices.

Yelp
Hello Kitty Café in San Jose was such a fun and adorable experience! Everything was super cute--from the décor to the treats--and perfect for photos. The drinks and desserts were delicious, and the whole place just has a happy, playful vibe. If you want to sit inside the café, definitely make a reservation ahead of time since it fills up quickly. Such a cute spot and a must-visit for any Hello Kitty fan!

Yelp
This was an awesome experience, especially for my partner who is a big fan of Hello Kitty. Is this expensive? Yes. Absolutely. Are you paying for an experience that you can't get anywhere else in the area? Yes. So keep that in mind because others seem to be surprised in their reviews even though you can look up the menu and price online before going. You get exactly what's on the online menu. So there are no surprises. It runs about $70 per person and gratuity is automatically added at checkout. It is necessary to make reservations online to be seated for tea. We saw multiple people turned away for not making reservations. Obviously, you don't have to make reservations to buy from the walk up cafe. The tea was great and the food was a great try. My favorite was the chicken salad on the croissant. I was weary about the raisins they put in the chicken salad, but it actually wasn't bad. Everything is hello kitty themed including the little sugar you put in your tea. The ambiance is great for a hello kitty lover and there are a couple photo ops in the tea room that are adorable.

Yelp
I know nothing about Hello Kitty but after walking by it many times, decided to stop by and check it out. The matcha cloud and croissant were very good and so was the friendly service.

Yelp
8/10 Got the seasonal soft serve (vanilla & strawberry). The strawberry was definitely the dominant flavor, very light, not overly sweet, almost sorbet-like. I personally prefer something a bit sweeter, but it was still good and refreshing. It also came with a cute Hello Kitty cookie, which was just a simple shortbread, nothing special, but a nice touch. Service was fairly fast and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The ambiance was clean, bright, and very pink, which added to the experience.

Yelp
This place is ADORABLE ! I'm a huge Hello Kitty fan and have visited the cafe in the Fashion Show Mall Las Vegas many times. I'm so happy to have a location within the Bay Area! The vibes are unmatched with adorable atmosphere and cutesy drinks and snacks. Our drinks were delicious! We had a hot mocha and pumkin spice latte. They came out quick and cute! Instagram worthy drinks. This location also has what they called the "Bow Room", a reservation only room that offers tea and desert service. I'll definitely be trying that next time I'm at Valley Fair. & Sanrio! If you're looking and listening I think you'd do great on Bay Street in Emeryville too!

Yelp
Waited for the hype to die down before finally trying Hello Kitty Cafe! I went on a Friday night and there wasn't a line so I took it as my sign to check it out. It's small, but very cute. The decor is so adorable and everything has Hello Kitty in it down to the little detailed motifs on the cakes. I visited during the holidays and saw they had seasonal drinks available like pumpkin spice and peppermint mocha. I didn't get around to trying one of the desserts this time because I was stuffed from dinner, but I was thirsty and ended up trying the mango iced tea at the recommendation of the cashier. Honestly it was just okay which was what I suspected from a café that was known for novelty more than quality/taste. I don't have anything bad to say, just that I probably wouldn't get it again. Very nice employees though and the ambiance was so lovely and adorable. If you love Hello Kitty you have to check it out at least once! I think I'd come back to try a dessert or purchase a gift for a Sanrio lover because they have really nicely packed pastries. Overall average rating because the drink was just okay, but the presentation of everything was really whimsical and cute and the service is nice.

Yelp
FOOD: 4 SERVICE: 5 AMBIANCE: 4 VALUE: 4 We've heard about the Hello Kitty cafe in the Valley Fair mall for some time now. Recently we discovered that they serve a Tea Set in the afternoon. After securing a Tock reservation several weeks in advance, we finally got to try the afternoon tea. There is a separate line to check in for the Bow Room, but when we were there, the line wasn't monitored and we ended up having to go to the counter. Inside the Bow Room, it's clean and bright with loud music playing. We were greeted promptly and ask which of the two empty tables we would prefer. Once seated, the menu (already on table) we were asked to pick our tea/drink selections. Alcohol (champagne or mimosa) was on the menu, but it was not available. After electing our teas (which were very good), we were presented with the Strawberry & Cocoa Cream. The berries were fresh and the cream was flavorful without being too sweet. Next came the actual tea set on a three tier tray. Here are what each tray contained: Bottom tray: Cucumber Sandwich - thin strips of cucumber served on a slice of milk bread with dill cream cheese. A refreshing bite to get the palate primed for the rest. Beet Hummus Pita - a dollop of beet hummus topped with a slice of radish on a pita cookie. Slightly tangy and a cleanser for the savory bits. Chicken Salad Croissant - creamy chicken salad served in a croissant sandwich. Egg Salad - egg salad served in a micro cone. Not really enough of anything to establish a taste. Apple Pie Tart - a small "bun" of apple pie. Scone - crunchy scone served with butter and strawberry jam. Hello Kitty Mini Cake - almond cake encapsulated in frosting. Full of flavor, but frosting was on sweet side. We couldn't finish the rest of our tea set and took the macaroons and shortcakes home. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, but not something we would do again. The price is comparable to other "teas" at high end hotels, but the atmosphere was not relaxing nor soothing. YMMV.

Yelp
Super cute decor and themed cafe - went for the Hello Kitty High Tea in The Bow Room. Everything was just so impeccably themed. The food was actually pretty good, if not a little on the sweet side. My favorite was the chicken salad croissant. The family loved the chocolate mousse. FYI, you don't get to pick your food. You only get to pick the tea (lemonade or strawberry lemonade for the little ones). The tea is "Art of Tea" brand, so pretty decent - not cheap tea. Our server was so sweet and kind, and it really made a difference. Downside: high tea is $70 per person (no kid discount). At the end, you get a little plastic bow keychain. I feel like for the amount, we should get more swag! Lol! All in all, if you are or were a Hello Kitty fan, I'd say do it once. During our sitting, I didn't see any kids - just a bunch of millennials and xennials like me!

Yelp
I mean, me and Kitty go waaay back. She and her fam got me through my 80s adolescent years, as we were one of the very few asian families in a small town in upstate NY. I related a lot to the entire Hello Kitty storyline and still have some original products to this day, from the late 70s. This cafe made me smile the entire time. It was so happy and cute in there. Food was decent and drinks were great! Who wouldn't want to drink strawberry lemonade from a sleek white HK-shaped vessel? Kids were cute too! Would take visitors to go back again as it is a bit pricey for the food quantity. Fun indulgence! It brought to mind this quote I saw recently "We must remain whimsical to survive the horrors of this world" Thanks Hello Kitty Cafe

Yelp
The first Hello Kitty cafe in the Bay Area. It's located inside Valley Fair on the 2nd floor between Bloomingdale's and Starbucks. It's a small cafe in the front where you place orders. If you want to dine, you'll need to make reservations. Their seating is in the back closed off from the outside. You can see the restaurant from the side outside. The cafe serves dessert and drinks and not really hot food. The line has gone down significantly that I was able to walk up and make an order. I decided on the 2 layer mini cake to go. I requested for the bag and was surprised it looked like a gift bag. Worth spending for the bag. The cake looks cute and it tastes okay. I'll try their other desserts when I'm at Valley Fair shopping.

Yelp
The Hello Kitty Cafe Bow Room gets pretty mixed reviews, but we actually had a great time. The servers were attentive, and it never felt overly crowded. Everything was super cute, like the utensils, the plates shaped like Hello Kitty's head, and the whole pink setup definitely made it feel like an experience. The food was better than expected and the portions were petite, but generous enough that we even took leftovers home. The drinks were just average, but honestly you're mostly there for the vibe, and on that front it totally delivered.
google avatar

Sammi Y.

Yelp
Well, I love hello kitty so this place is going to get 5 stars from me no matter what! It's located in Valley Fair mall and pretty much just a walk up counter unless you have reservations for the restaurant part (I didn't). You can get drinks, desserts and merchandise to go. It seems that there's usually a line but it moves pretty fast. I'd recommend browsing the special 25th Anniversary merchandise before it ends this year! The drinks were super cute but a little sweet (to be expected).

Yelp
So excited a full Hello Kitty Cafe opened in the Bay Area! It's in a really convenient location in the Valley Fair mall. I really wanted to try their afternoon tea service, so I made the reservation a month in advance. The reservation fee is non-refundable and I don't think you can change the date/time either, so wish they were more flexible with that. The service is really great! Everyone is very nice and helpful. All the treats look really pretty and Hello Kitty themed, but the taste could be better. You start off with a cup of strawberries with chocolate cream. Wish they added some sort of tart of crumble to it. The savory sandwiches were solid and unique! A lot of the pastries are a little dry unfortunately. The tea selection had decent variety. I chose one of the green teas and it pairs really well with the food. Would recommend trying once! They also have pastries you can buy at the storefront without a reservation.

Yelp
What a spectacular find in the San Francisco area! It was easy to find an open reservation for the afternoon tea or dinner dessert. They're very upfront on how much the total is going to be, that there's an 18% mandatory gratuity tip, and that half of the total is due at the time of making the reservation. They also explicitly explain what's on each menu, what you're going to receive, and which items have different options. Yeah it's a little pricey, but when they're transparent with everything AND for the Hello Kitty theme itself it makes it all worth it! You don't find this everywhere and honestly the decor is really cute with staff who are extremely pleasant. The food and drinks were all really good too! I would definitely come here again for another fun future event!!

Yelp
Made reservations for my party of 4 a few weeks in advance for afternoon tea in the Bow Room. A $35/pp deposit was required when booking. The Bow Room itself was pretty small and got noisy easily from the loud music and talking. They were playing loud pop music which didn't really feel that fitting. For $70/pp, I didn't find the experience to be super worth it. There is a set menu and the only item you choose is your beverage (lemonade, iced tea, hot tea). I personally would've enjoyed the experience more if there were more savory items than sweet - the sweet items got really heavy easily. Most of the items were mediocre in my opinion. My favorite item was probably the chicken salad croissant but none of the items really came close. Our reservation was on a Friday afternoon and the sun was extremely bright in some areas. The people in my party facing the sun were practically squinting the entire time and felt warm and there were no shades/blinds/curtains to help. Servers were attentive and friendly. Overall I think it's more for the vibes as a one-time experience.

Yelp
Omg, a Hello Kitty cafe!!!! I am so happy it is in Valley Fair. It is usually crowded, but thankfully I was able to visit. Plus, it was Halloween season. I was able to get the Kuromi drink. Kuromi is my favorite character. I was so happy it came with a cute Kuromi sticker. Now, about the drink. Well, it is good. I could taste the taro, and it wasn't overpowering. But I heard that it is a bit too sweet. So, it's definitely a hit or miss. But I definitely recommend trying it during this spooky season. And I am most definitely coming back. I want to try their high tea room.

Yelp
Finally got to try this place for my sister's birthday! We were looking for round cakes in the valley fair area and the Hello Kitty Cafe had a round cake. It was their strawberry cake for $13. It wasn't that long of a wait when I got to order. It's a cute cafe with lots of personality from the hello kitty decor, the pinkness of the walls, and the iconic bow room for tea parties. My family enjoyed the cake. It wasn't that sweet, decadent, and creamy. Good value and experience as my sister's mini birthday cake.

Yelp
Super small. Cannot sit inside (unless ur in the Bow Room). There are some tables right outside but that section was closed! Why?!!! Got a holiday peppermint iced cold brew and a lemonade. The only merch I got was the glass mug. It's adorbs! Staff was very nice and patient when deciding what to get. No line. We took a few photos in front of the painted wall and Christmas tree. It was a fun, brief visit. Glad I got what I wanted and didn't have to deal with any lines, like going to the HK cafe trucks. I didn't like that the HK statue was tucked away in the bow room, so no photo op, unlike all the rest of the HK cafes. But, if you're at the mall, you might as well make a stop and immerse in pink cuteness. "Have a sweet day!"

Yelp
Hello Kitty Cafe is exactly what it promises to be. Cute, colorful, and full of charm. A place where pink meets pastries and memories matter more than perfection. We tried the Hello Kitty decorated sugar cookie, which was good and definitely fun for my daughter to eat. The design alone made it feel special, though at $5.50 it did feel a bit heavily priced for a cookie. Still, the experience for a kid makes it worth considering at least once. For drinks, we ordered the cocoa cloud cold brew and the strawberry cloud latte, both priced at $8 during our visit. They were decent and nicely presented, but I personally prefer my drinks Starbucks sweet, so these leaned a little mild for my taste. Where this place really shines is the ambiance and service. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the space itself is packed with photo opportunities. From the neon lit decor to the pink Christmas tree, the cafe has a fun, playful energy that makes you want to linger and snap a few pictures. Overall, we were satisfied with our visit. Hello Kitty Cafe may not be about value pricing or bold flavors, but it delivers on atmosphere, smiles, and that simple joy of stepping into a world designed to feel happy. Sometimes cute really is enough.

Yelp
Hello Kitty fans, you all need to come experience the official Hello Kitty Cafe for yourself and immerse yourself in this intensely pink Sanrio world! You and your little ones will surely have a splendid time dining in a glorious themed room on scrumptious little savory and sweets all within theme and sipping from a variety of teas served in cute tea cups and saucers or lemonade from their exclusive tiki cups. Located within the Valley Fair mall in Santa Clara on the second floor, the Hello Kitty Cafe benefits from an abundance of foot traffic from shoppers for their desserts and drinks but in order to secure a spot for their fixed menu brunch tea time, you'll need to make a reservation beforehand (like months ahead). They also have an evening dessert menu but it's much easier to get a spot during that time. Also due to its shared amenities with the mall, parking is relatively easy to get and the first two hours are free. Once you've arrived during your reservation time, they'll check you in and walk you into the dining room. This time around, it was simply decorated with pink walls and Hello Kitty everywhere including the giant statue perfectly erected for photos. Each table is furnished with a collection of plates and saucers but what drew my attention was the pink Hello Kitty shaped sugar cube meant to be used with your tea - but beware, it's sweet and dissolves quickly so don't use the full head for the entire cup. As part of the fixed menu, you get a choice of drink among teas (caffeinated and decaffeinated), lemonades (regular, strawberry or lavender), ice teas (mango, peach or strawberry) and mimosas/champagne. If you do end up getting the lemonade, you'll get to use the special tiki cup that is also available for purchase exclusively from this dining room (it was quoted at a whopping $45 a cup). Everything else on the menu is set which includes a collection of savory and sweet bites. This was all stacked on a Hello Kitty shaped rack and was either enough to serve two or three patrons. There were certainly highlights and some that were not my cup of tea. Strawberry Cocoa Cream - this cup of rich cocoa cream had a bed of fresh strawberry quarters. This decadent opener was beautifully decorated with a cocoa powdered Hello Kitty face and delicious! Chicken salad croissant - this hearty sandwich has great flavor and decent texture. It's a bit light on the chicken but it's enough to fill you up. Cucumber open "face" sandwich - in the shape of Hello Kitty, this light bite has thinly sliced cucumbers layered on top of a thin slice of white bread and cream cheese. Egg salad cone - fun crunchy twist on a classic and the handheld snack was beautifully crafted Apple crumble - solid rendition of an apple pie or strudel; the flavors were solid and familiar. Scone with strawberry jam - scone was a bit dry but with the jam, it tasted decent. Nothing too special but tea time wouldn't be the same without scones Strawberry tart - cute morsels packed with a whole lot of flavor. The layered tart has mousse and jam with a soft pastry shell. Layered cake - beautifully decorated but a bit too sweet for me Macaron - vibrantly colored and layered with fresh raspberries; this bite was fruity and sweet and provided a nice highlight to the end of the meal For my drink, I ended up getting the Earl grey and it was pleasant. I believe all their teas are simply from accessible teabags so they're not too exclusive. I did end up using the sugar cube but after my first pot and getting a refill, I didn't have any more Hello Kitty sugar cubes to pair with the rest of the tea. After our meal, we took some time to take photos with the room, Hello Kitty statue, and our party. The staff were helpful in capturing moments on our cameras, providing exceptional service during the meal, sharing additional information about their evening service and supplying take out boxes for our leftovers. Overall, if you're a Sanrio fan, you will have a tremendous time here dining in the themed venue and chomping on cutely crafted bites. For the younger crowd, the meal has a lot of food and they may not be able to finish it all but the small bites are great for tasting and anything unfinished can be packed home to enjoy later. The drinks are decent and the food is good, however on the sweeter side. The high price point is definitely reflective of the decor and effort put into crafting the food into fun bite sized snacks. For the foodies, it's nothing amazing but again, for the experience, it was fun to do. Who knows? You may end up becoming a fan of the long standing franchise!

Yelp
Made a reservation here about a month in advance. The hype has died down a bit so it wasn't overly crowded which I loved. It's located inside the valley fair mall next to Eataly. We were escorted to the back of the cafe that had a few small tables. The ambiance was so cute and nicely decorated. Hello kitty stuff was everywhere! So pink and so bright. We went for afternoon tea and our server, Jasmine, took care of everything. She walked us through everything on the menu and answered all of our questions. Each person gets their own choice of tea. The birthday tea is popular and it had a nice fruity flavor. Most of the treats you get are desserts. You get a few savory items as well. If you can't finish it, you can take it to go. It was a great place to have a girls date or to take anyone that loves Hello Kitty.

Yelp
We had the most amazing high tea at the hello Kitty Café at Westfield mall. Check out my video of it on my channel at dog minded. The service was impeccable and the ambience was so charming. Everything was thematic and pink and so fun. I know kids like it, but this is part of my childhood also even though my childhood was over 40 years ago lol I took lots of pictures so check them out because it's hard to describe how cute everything was but I think that the great thing about it is that everything tasted so good also, I loved the pretzel croissant with chicken salad and the egg salad and a little cone it was so cute. I highly recommend it. Check out my video of the experience. https://youtu.be/MyH_HTU7CfM?si=lnVixsuu-vzPONSp

Yelp
I was able to nab a reservation for the Bow Room shortly after they opened. My friend lives nearby so we were able to enjoy afternoon tea and catch up. The ambiance is so cute with Hello Kitty touches throughout. We both wanted to take the Hello Kitty stand home. The food and tea were good and we both left satisfied. There was a mix of sweet and savory items. I really liked the macaron and chicken salad sandwich. The tea was delicious and my friend and I were able to choose our own flavors. They didn't have bubbly yet, so I cant attest to how they were. Overall a very cute spot that's nostalgic and would be a special treat for a child. I would return for the dessert menu if I was able to snag a reservation.

Yelp
Background I grew up with Hello Kitty (my favorite character!) and loved visiting the Sanrio store back in the day, so I was really excited to finally check out the Hello Kitty Café. Service Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. Most of the staff looked unhappy or unapproachable, with the exception of one girl who was actually friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, she wasn't the one who took my order. The person who did seemed irritated and honestly made me wonder why he was working there. The line situation was also confusing, there was no clear system until the nice girl came out and directed everyone to line up by the ropes. Food & Drinks We decided to try the cinnamon sugar donuts. At first, the cashier snapped at us that the donut machine was broken, but another worker quickly stepped in to say it was actually working again. At least they make the donuts fresh, which was nice to see, and they tasted good. We also ordered two lemonades: the strawberry mint (very pretty presentation) and the lavender. Both, however, were extremely sweet, so much so that we couldn't drink them. Since there's no seating, we had taken them elsewhere, but I ended up walking back just to ask for an extra cup so I could dilute mine with water. Overall While the donuts were enjoyable, the overall experience didn't live up to the excitement I had. The service was lackluster and the drinks were a letdown. Cute concept, but unfortunately, the Hello Kitty Café didn't capture the charm or magic I was hoping for. 2 lemonades + donuts was $25.

Yelp
My wife has been to the Las Vegas pop-up version and they had more variety there than this actual permanent spot. Donuts and other items were not available. Service was semi-quick, lots of employees helping out but not enough space for them, bumping into each other. The concept is what it is...to attract customers to buy HK branded items but that's all, nothing really special. Maybe more of a special treat for little kids who are Sanrio fans.

Yelp
I really wanted to enjoy this experience completely. I've been to the location in Irvine as well as the san jose location when it was open. Our reservation was for 11:45 this past Saturday. We stood in line, were greeted, and seated promptly. When we were let in, the servers were still setting up the tables, and instead of being seated at our table, we were told to sit at either of the tables by the windows. So we picked a table, sat down and the first thing I noticed was one of the small plates were dirty. I later realized that the plate was just badly stained. I continued to notice stains and severe scratches on the plates. My goddaughter, who I was with, also had to wipe her utensils due to the water spots on them. We had a female server; unfortunately, I forgot her name. She took our orders promptly, and within minutes, our first dish was out, which was the strawberries and cocoa cream. This was actually pretty good and not at all sweet. Strawberries were fresh as well. For our drinks, my goddaughter ordered a mango iced tea, and I ordered the hibiscus cooler green tea. According to my goddaughter, she could not taste any mango in her tea. My hibiscus tea was actually pretty good. I did attempt to order a mimosa but was told they are not offering that yet which I don't know why it would be on the menu if it's not available or alteast have it crossed out temporarily. Our Hello Kitty tower was set on our table, which was extremely cute and adorable. Bottom row: Out of all the mini bites on the tower, the chicken croissant was the best, and the cucumber sandwich was refreshing. Middle row: egg salad, apple tart, scone. The egg salad was good, as well as the apple tart. The scone was inedible. We could not eat it. It was extremely dry and hard. I overheard another table complaining about it, and the reason the male server gave was that it was normal because it was supposed to be mixed with the tea. My question with this answer is, what happens if someone didn't get the hot tea? This was honestly unacceptable, and I could not eat that scone. The desserts, which were at the top of the tray, was the Hello Kitty mini cake, raspberry macaron, and strawberry shortcake. Out of this three, the macaron was the best. The shortcake was sweet, and I have no comment on that mini cake. Besides some of the food being inedible, their utensils and dishes that they used looked really old and overused. The teapot given to me for my hot tea was severely chipped and heavily stained (photo attached). Allowing this teapot to come out of that kitchen is extremely unacceptable and very disappointing. This afternoon tea was not worth $70 per person and I'm sorry to say this but I don't think they were deserving of the automatic 18% service charge they put on your check if they couldn't even check and make sure a teapot was good to be used. I've been to the bow room in Irvine, which has been open way longer, and I've never seen them use any dishes that are chipped or stained. Also, other tables also had chipped teapots. Honestly, it seemed like they took some of the used dishes and utensils from a different location and used that instead, cause how are all the items already severely damaged when they haven't even been open for that long? They need to do better. And don't even get me started on the donut machine and ice cream machine being broken. How can the two best things you offer be both broken? I do want to try their evening menu.

Yelp
We had a lovely afternoon tea service at Hello Kitty Cafe! The first thing you notice is how pink and adorable the decor is! There is a big Hello Kitty head silhouette on the wall and a cute Hello Kitty statue to take photos with. They provide a menu for your drink selection, and the food is a set menu. In addition to hot tea they also offer flavored lemonades and iced teas, and mimosas! I love tea, so I got the white tip jasmine green tea, which paired nicely with all the food. For food, they start with a delicious cup of strawberries & cocoa cream. Then they bring out the 3-tiered tower of savory & sweet items. The standout savory item was the chicken salad croissant. I wish the egg salad was in a sandwich instead of a very tiny cone. For the sweet items, I liked the scone and the apple pie tart. I did not care for the items on the top tier- the mini cake, macaron, and strawberry shortcake were unimpressive. Service was good. Definitely make a reservation. We made one for a Wednesday at 11:45am, and all of the tables were in use.

Yelp
Think pink! This is so cutesy. You gotta experience it at least once. I made an Evening Delights reservation about one month in advance. It's $30pp for a dessert & beverage in the evening until 10:30pm. Friends and I had the following: *Tiramisu *Matcha Tiramisu *Strawberry Tiramisu *Pink Hot Chocolate made with Valhrona chocolate +$5 *Espresso We also ordered Peach Iced Tea and a box of assorted macarons. Cutlery is gold and napkins are pink just like the room. Service was great! Fun, accommodating staff. They checked on us pretty often and sifted matcha + chocolate powders on our desserts & drinks right next to our table. They have high tea during the day on weekends for $75pp. They have branded merch, sugar cookies, decorated single serving desserts, lemonade, soft serve ice cream, and more. Perfect for the Hello Kitty lover in your life.

Yelp
A fun experience. The room is pretty small, so I can see why the reservations are booked out. The finger foods are bite sized and yummy. Some are on the sweet side. You can ask for your drink and a box to-go if you can't finish everything. This is the perfect tea spot for the Hello Kitty lovers.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try this cafe shove it opened in Valleyfair mall and I'm glad I did! I got the mini apple pie and the pumpkin pie tart, and both were delicious! Each pastry's design was adorable, and they were packaged in cute little Hello Kitty window boxes! I also got their Strawberry Dream smoothie! While delicious, everything here was VERY sweet and this got to be too much for me very quickly. There was no line when I went, and service was fast! I would definitely pop in for a treat again; I'm glad it's finally here!

Yelp
Stopped by on a weekday around 11 AM and there was zero line. I grabbed an Americano which was just alright and definitely not worth the $7 price tag for the coffee itself, but I enjoyed the cute Hello Kitty-themed cup. The place itself is fun if you're into the brand. I'll come back with my family to check out the Bow Room next time.

Yelp
This is my second time at HK Café, but my first time here at this location. We did the afternoon tea for my birthday. The waitstaff was super polite and provided full details of the menu and food. I did not see a bar at this location, so unsure if they do cocktail hereor if it's in another room. The food was just okay, in my opinion. I do wish they had more savory options. There were four of us so we received two trays of food. I will say the price is pretty outrageous for what you receive and they do not validate parking here. I would recommend cocktail hour over tea. Of course it is cute and pink inside, and clean.

Yelp
I wasn't sure what to expect after reading the mixed reviews of the Tea service at the new Hello Kitty Cafe at Valley Fair but wanted to try anyway, I was not disappointed! We had a 3:30 reservation and was seated pretty close to our reservation time, we did show up early to check in though. While we waited we checked out the cafe walk up menu and they had a lot of cute pastries& drinks, several of them being seasonal pumpkin options. The storefront was absolutely beautiful! The bow room was a white door with a bow on it, it made me think speakeasy. Walking into the bow room was a treat, it's this small pick room with table and this big windows letting in lots of light. I loved that there was a big hello kitty statue in the back portraying her with a pink chef coat. We were greeted warmly after we sat down and explained the way the menu works. The food menu is pre-fix with many drink options, both hot and cold. We were also told that the cold drinks were free refills and the teas came with free hot water refills. We both ordered hot tea, I ordered the Pomegranate Green tea and my sister ordered the apple black tea. We were each given a hello kitty shaped sugar cube. I fell in love with the place setting, though sadly they do not sell their items. Our plates were hello kitty shaped, the mugs and tea pots were decorated with hello kitty designs and our napkins were such a pretty pink color. The gold plates silverware just brought the whole thing together. We were started with a chocolate mousse over strawberries with hello kitty designs on top and then was brought over the most adorable tea cart shaped like hello kitty as well. All the food was amazing, not just pretty. My favorite savory item was the chicken salad on a croissant and my favorite sweet item was the strawberry shortcake with was light and flaky. Yes, it was a little expensive but so worth it to do at least once. I definitely recommend!

Yelp
Like many of the reviews here, the Hello Kitty Cafe is cute for the aesthetic and underwhelming for the food. I guess you're really paying for the HK themed food and cutlery. When we arrived, there was a sign that said to wait for someone to check you into the reservation. We waited maybe 15 minutes since they were serving guest in the to go cafe area and when it passed some time for our reservation, we went into the line to let them know. We weren't sure if we could enter through on our own since the signs said to wait. It's really cute inside and everything is HK themed, even down to the sugar cube. They had pretty standard tea options, nothing spectacular. Their sweet and savory options were decent. It was interesting because the staff told us which ones weren't a fan favorite and which ones were, but the one we liked the most was the non fan favorite. The scones were hard and cold so they were difficult to enjoy. The serving size is also much smaller than typical afternoon tea places. I recommend it if you want to go because of the aesthetic, and not afternoon tea experience.

Yelp
The whole reason my family and I visited Westfield Valley Fair Mall yesterday was to check out the Hello Kitty Cafe. There was a line when we arrived which didn't move all that quickly unfortunately, but we did entertained ourselves while we waited. We ordered the Cocoa Cloud Cold Brew and S'mores Chocolate Milk. I was not a fan at all of the Cocoa Cloud Cold Brew, it was bitter and just lacked so much flavor, but we did enjoy the S'mores Chocolate Milk. They offer little cakes, cookies, soft serve and freshly made mini donuts as well as other items. We were able to watch them make the donuts while standing in line which was pretty cool. Staff were friendly and I am really appreciative to the Manager for remaking my niece's chocolate milk after she dropped it right outside the store at no charge! Great customer service! I would not come back to stand in line for what they offer at the counter, but I would come back to check out what they offer in their Bow Room - I tried to make reservations ahead of time, but unfortunately they were all booked up. The Hello Kitty Cafe is definitely worth it for the aesthetics and photo ops! If you have not been, I would check it out at least once especially if you have kids who are Hello Kitty fans!

Yelp
Came here on a weekday & there was NO line. When it initially opened, I saw the line wrapped around. Oh hell no, I ain't waiting in line. I'm not THAT big of a fan of Hello Kitty. It's all about Pochacco. But I digress. It's a super cute cafe. Yes, I get it. Go here for the aesthetics. But I think once is enough, maybe 2x to show someone who loves Hello Kitty. The staff were really attentive & helpful. The doughnut machine was out of service. Bummer. I got the Strawberry Mint Lemonade. Goddamn, for $7, it was just average. I'd rather get a huge strawberry lemonade at Auntie Anne's or Wetzel's Pretzels tbh. It's definitely overpriced for what you get. Then again, it is Hello Kitty. Sanrio stuff ain't cheap. But! It did bring a smile to my face & that's priceless :')

Yelp
How many times can someone say "cute"? 100 times? That person is me. The minute I walked into the cafe, I thought it was cute. The table setting was cute, the huge Hello Kitty statue was cute and the tea set was cute. Everything was very cute, pink and girly. The overall experience was nice and welcoming. The workers were friendly and polite. I thought the tea and food was good, but for the price it is an expensive experience. When we were done, I went out to the front and bought a few of the pocket pies to go. Why only 4 stars? Price and I didn't think you got your moneys worth. But it was about the experience and the beauty of the Bow room.

Yelp
The whole place is sooo cute and fun, but the prices are too expensive. We tried their evening dessert pairing for $30 which means you get to dine inside. You get 1 drink + 1 dessert. Maybe we should have just tried their desserts for takeout.

Yelp
What a cute little shop inside Valley Fair Mall! There are lots of cute decorations that draw in visitors, independent of whether or not they're actually ordering. Even the food has cute, designs, and patterns, fitting with the hello Kitty theme. The service was also pretty fast, considering the crowd that was present. They also have a "Bow Room" that you can access with a prior reservation, for high tea in the afternoon or some light snacks in the evenings (see pictures for details). While we didn't have any reservations this time, we may go back in the future for this experience! If you don't have reservations for the Bow Room, there aren't really places to sit within the store, so you'll want to get takeout. However, there are many places to sit with within the mall. The closest parking to this location is likely the Stevens Creek garage, and enter entering on the second floor, next to the Starbucks.
