Where to Find the Best Indian Food in Portland

"Hello Little India sits in a Lake Oswego strip mall just off the I-5 between an ophthalmologist and a hair salon, where, amid muted booths and plain decor, emerges some of the most flavorful and aromatic dishes anywhere in the Portland metro area. The move here is almost certainly the elegantly layered Hyderabadi-style biryani, served with a choice of protein or the chef's special, which features them all. The potent medley of herbs and spices lingers on the palate long after eating here, along with a nice bit of heat." - Rebecca Roland, Ron Scott, Eater Staff

My first experience at this restaurant, the service and food was great! Food was super delicious! I brought some home for my family and they loved it! We’ll be back! I would definitely recommend this place!!

Good Indian restaurant at Portland. They make amazing Kulcha(stuffing is great). Kulcha is a must try here 👌🏻 Lamb curry and chicken 65 are good too.

We love the garlic naan. Ordered and really enjoyed the chicken kormas curry and the chicken makhani curry. But the food is very rich and gave me gas all night.Maybe I can take a gas X or just visit for lunch instead of dinner. Overall, it was a very busy restaurant for Sat night. Yes, most likely will return again.

Looking for fresh chai? You can finally stop looking and come here! Chai was made fresh when ordered and tasted absolutely amazing. I can’t explain the happiness of finally finding good chai! ☕️ ✨ Mango lassi, Hyderabadi chicken 65 and paneer manchurian was top notch. This place is surely going on my “ don’t miss when you come to Portland” list! ✨ Also, heard they have another restaurant in town called Hamara restaurant, it’s gonna be my next pit stop! Can’t wait!

This is right off I90, hence we wanted to try without having to go into the Portland town. The servers are nice and welcoming. The food however is very basic. Don’t try the masala dosa, it was not good, neither was sambhar. The mango lassi was good though, the saving grace! We also tried the Paneer jalfrezi, which had too many spices and excess turmeric but still ok. Garlic naan was also ok. Overall, would have given a 2 star but 3 as we did not try other dishes.

I am disappointed because I gave this place 2 tries because of the good reviews. The first time we ordered dosas for take out. They were soggy and tasted old. I thought maybe it was a bad day and dosas are better when ordered fresh. Today, we went there for dinner with our family, and the food was still not good. The tikka kebobs and white rice and naan were the only things that were decent. The samosas were bitter like fried in old oil, very over powering coriander taste. The mango Lassi was warm and $8 for a small cup of warm lassi! They seemed to be busy which is good but food took along time to come out and they brought it out in parts. We were a bigger group but didn't order excessively. First came the chicken, but no rice or naan. 15 minutes later when the chicken got cold came the rice and naan. Its a nuisance to have to wait 15 mins in between parts of your meal to eat. Ordered a mango ice cream. After 40 minutes of waiting, we got up to pay the bill, and they brought it out when we were about to walk out. We declined and asked to please remove it from the tab. The chicken 65 looked promising but tasted rubbery, slimy, and flavorless. Our total cost for 6 dishes plus 3 mango Lassis and was about $170. Really not worth it. I feel sick after this meal. I was really hopeful for good Indian food, unfortunately this wasn't it.

I've never been here, but my girlfriend had dinner with her friends earlier today and I've just eaten some leftovers. The chicken korma is the tastiest thing I've probably had all year. I cannot oversell how amazing this leftover chicken korma was. I'm left wondering what it must be like fresh. If you're second guessing whether or not you should eat here, just go. If everything on their menu is even half as good as the chicken korma, you're in for a treat
