"Hell’s Ramen is a new ramen spot in the Mission known for its very spicy ramen broth. It occupies the space formerly known as Dante’s Weird Fish and is a project by the Iza Ramen team. The venue is currently in its soft opening phase and operates from Tuesday to Friday, 5:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m." - Caleb Pershan

Very nice ramen shop with cool decor. Me and my fiance went on a Saturday night and were seated immediately , restaurant wasn't very crowded which after eating there I was a bit surprised by. We started with the garlic edamame it was good but similar to most garlic edamame I've had. Next we tried both of there vegetarian ramens , the Special Tomato and the Tokusei Miso. The special Tomato was different but good it's a tomato based broth with little cherry tomato halfs in the ramen( if you dont like tomato soup this isn't for you). The Tokusei miso was our favorite just a really good bowl of ramen with a little impossible meat patty and fried egg plant is a very nice miso borth. Hells ramen probably rates number 3 for my favorite ramen in SF

Came in the other day as ramen always sounds good when it's cold out. I am always on the hunt for spicy ramen, and this place did not disappoint. As an appetizer, my boyfriend and I got the takoyaki. They were perfectly crispy on the outside yet soft in the middle with a light flavor. The mayo and other dipping sauce complement them perfectly. I got the Enma ramen while my boyfriend got the yasha. The Enma is served in a hot bowl so it stays hot as you eat. I'm a kind of sensitive eater so I had to wait a while before it was a comfortable temperature for me to eat. It is truly spicy! For me, it was exactly what I was looking for. The flavor was very spicy but not too much to handle. I added a marinated egg and mushrooms. The egg is cooked to perfection, I would highly recommend it. The yasha did come with far less broth it seemed. It would be nice if this option came with more as the bowl looked a bit empty. My boyfriend got bamboo shoots on the side. The thin noodles are less chewy than the thick, so I recommend getting the thicker noodles if that is what you are craving. All in all we would come back! The location is small and fills up quick, but you can add yourself to the wait list via yelp.

Tried this place for the first time and got the Hell ramen. The waiter made really sure I knew what I was getting myself into. I’m pretty into spicy so I was like yeah bring it on. Later, while waiting I realized the menu states you have to try the one step down ramen to qualify to order Hell ramen. I guess I looked like I could hang. I ordered Pork Gyoza, Garlic Edamame, and Piri-Piri Karaage. They were all really good. Here’s my thoughts on all three. The Karaage intrigued me when I saw Piri-Piri was the spice used on it. It’s basically the jalapeño of Africa and I grew to love it in my time down there. Also, Karaage is great in general and I had to sample theirs. The vibe was great. The service was slow at first but they had 20 diners and one waiter and just opened, so I’m totally forgiving. Our waiter was awesome and once he got our orders we were eating in no time. The first bite of Karaage hit me like a punch. I was so excited to eat it that I forgot it was spicy. There were 4 hunking pieces of juicy chicken there. They didn’t overbread it which is fantastic, I hate when there’s too much batter. In the end I couldn’t even finish it. They gave me such a generous portion. No aioli sauce like some other places have but I found the flavor on its own more than sufficient. Garlic edamame was awesome. A sneaky little bit of heat and a lot of flavor. The Gyoza were great, the only non spicy thing I had. They came out as five all stuck together as if they were made fresh. Flavorful and juicy. And now for the main course. The ramen. The Hell looked pretty much like I would imagine hell. I stared into a cauldron of magma...it just looked spicy. I could swear some of those pepper seeds onto of the broth were winking at me... I’ve had a few spicy ramens and have been pretty comfortable with Lava’s molten or Goku’s ‘Goku Spicy’. But just looking at it I got the vibe it was gonna be h o t. It did not disappoint. From the first spoonful it was pure fire. I enjoyed it. It only got hotter as the peppers had more time to soak. It was my first foray into spicy ground beef as a meat option. I think I’ve decided I’m more into the bigger piece of pork. I found my self slurping the broth at first and kind of dying but really enjoying it. The noodles that come with the Hell are different and thicker than what my girlfriend got with the more tame Tonkotsu they have. It was so hot I was hunting down the noodles. I think I drank 1/2 the broth and ate all the meat and noodles but decided to call it. I was so full and it was so spicy. The ambiance was very enjoyable. Non-pretentious and cozy. Very small, good use of space. A classic narrow room. Lots of red and a badass logo of Satan stirring a pot of ramen. All the staff looked like they were having fun and I liked the music. I ordered a pitcher of Sapporo—which was huge by the way—and that really went well with the Hell ramen. $24 seems like a deal. Honestly my ears popped from how hot the Hell Ramen was. I’ve never had that happen to me but I felt pretty alive. I’ll be back to finish the whole bowl next time.

The restaurant is semi - hidden behind a buys stop. It's small inside, but adequate seating since there was one person servicing every table. This is really good ramen. I had the Enma with mushrooms. The noodles were good, the broth was flavorful and just spicy enough. Next time I'll opt for the meat free bowl. Green onions are extra. Actually everything is extra. (There are no condiments on the table. Just chopsticks and a napkin) That may be a good thing since there's a $15 minimum to pay by card. But the price is right on this menu. The meal was definitely worth the price and the visit.

I'm no ramen pro! But the ramen here was pretty good. We had the Peri Karage, Ashura and Yasha ramen The Karage was good! It isn't with mayo , but with a brown sauce. The Ashura was creamy and spicy and noodles were delicious. Al dente-ish. Price is good for the portion and the location . I'll definitely be coming back for more!

Staff were friendly, atmosphere was great, food actually had spice to it which I never expect in SF. The Enma was fantastic and I hope that I can get them to bump up the heat a little bit next time for that full Hell Ramen immersion. I'll be coming back with more of an appetite to get some appetizers with my ramen and beer next time!

Loved the chicken keema curry! Paired with a Sapporo and I'm in heaven.

The spicy enma ramen is really really Spicy, but quite tasty and enjoyable too. The spice did something to my taste buds that made everything else (even Coke) extra tasty. We also tried the chicken katsu, the coating for which was refreshingly crispy and light, and the chicken curry, which was yum, but I wish had chicken pieces instead of ground chicken. Would recommend!
