Hemingway Bar

This bar is often featured on Prague’s must-visit lists, but based on my experience, I can’t give it more than three stars. We were a group of four with a reservation, arrived on time, and everything started off well. The bar itself is small but beautifully decorated, with a true speakeasy vibe. Their drinks were well-crafted, with a wide variety to choose from, and served in creative glassware that added to the experience. However, the seating arrangement really impacted our visit. Since we were four, we were crammed around a tiny table—two of us squeezed onto a small couch, while the other two had to sit on uncomfortable stools. One of us tried moving the stool in order to better hear what was said when one of the waiters, with an arrogant attitude, told us to move the seat back, as it was place there for a reason. We would’ve been totally fine and understanding to move any way, but we didn’t appreciate the tone and the way it was said. To make matters worse, people heading to the bathroom kept brushing against my back. For a high-end bar with premium-priced cocktails, I expect to be able to sit comfortably and actually enjoy my drink. Since the place was so crammed, it was really hard understanding others as the noise from all the people talking around was pretty overwhelming. Maybe others had a better experience, but for me, it wasn’t worth it. There are other speakeasy bars in Prague where you can truly relax and appreciate your drinks.

Freshly renovated bar with a really thought out menu, very good selection of different liquors, very knowledgeable bartenders, really kind waiters and pleasant warm atmosphere. Inspired by Hemingway drinks and bartenders knowing the actual passages from his books that inspired them are a great bonus that makes this place unique. Definitely worth a visit.

This bar has such an amazing cocktails, very unique taste and unusual combination, of course they have classics too but if you want to try something new this is the bar to go. Mixology with awarded bartenders who are ready to create and experiment based on your favorites. We have tried so many and they were all fantastic. Staff are very welcoming, professional and happy to recommend if you can’t choose. Attaching pictures from my visit. Ambience it’s very cozy with limited space so if you are coming at the busy hour make sure you have a reservation or if you coming as a big group. Will come back to try more of your cocktails. One of the absolute best drink bars I've ever visited. If you are interested in absinthe, the real absinthe, and having it the right way this is the place! Special thanks to the bartender who was serving us, the two finnish people visiting Prague in our honeymoon.

Great service and atmosphere. The staff is exceptionally polite and attentive. If you’re into absinthe, don’t miss the signature cocktail served straight from the tap.

Killer cocktails, everything was so thoughtfully made and the bartenders are so damn good at what they do. All of the cocktails on both the new age and old age menus were 10/10, my favorite was the aprichoco caipa (caipirinha riff). They literally have 10 pages of rum selections from every country under the sun, definitely try some of them out. Only thing would be more comfortable seating since the stools are not my favorite since we were there long enough that it hurt my back after a while. Drinks, vibe, and servers were amazing! Also insane steal of a price for the quality of the cocktails.

Wonderful experience! We were warmly greeted and our table was ready immediately upon arrival. The bar menu was expansive. We ordered 1 drink each, one of which was the absinth cocktail. Both drinks tasted great. We appreciated the presentation and explanations as we were served. It was a wonderful experience and we will surely be back. Highly recommend, and reserve ahead of time!

Very interesting bar with unique cocktails. We tried several cocktails from the menu, including Savoury Habit, Under the Sea, Hemingway’s Garden, Winter’s Warmth, Men at War, and Rituals. Our favorites were Under the Sea, Winter’s Warmth, and Savoury Habit for their unique and well-balanced flavors. Highly recommend making a reservation to guarantee entry!
