This bar is often featured on Prague’s must-visit lists, but based on my experience, I can’t give it more than three stars.
We were a group of four with a reservation, arrived on time, and everything started off well. The bar itself is small but beautifully decorated, with a true speakeasy vibe. Their drinks were well-crafted, with a wide variety to choose from, and served in creative glassware that added to the experience.
However, the seating arrangement really impacted our visit. Since we were four, we were crammed around a tiny table—two of us squeezed onto a small couch, while the other two had to sit on uncomfortable stools. One of us tried moving the stool in order to better hear what was said when one of the waiters, with an arrogant attitude, told us to move the seat back, as it was place there for a reason. We would’ve been totally fine and understanding to move any way, but we didn’t appreciate the tone and the way it was said. To make matters worse, people heading to the bathroom kept brushing against my back. For a high-end bar with premium-priced cocktails, I expect to be able to sit comfortably and actually enjoy my drink.
Since the place was so crammed, it was really hard understanding others as the noise from all the people talking around was pretty overwhelming.
Maybe others had a better experience, but for me, it wasn’t worth it. There are other speakeasy bars in Prague where you can truly relax and appreciate your drinks.
