Hemingway Gin & Cocktail Bar

Great experience, such an amazing staff, very positive vibe and ambience... had few cocktails and a great time... the Hemingway named drinks and such an original glasses for each drink we had. We went there with 2 kids ( 10yo & 13yo ) ... Marco & Jordi ( the experienced mixologists there ) took extra care of our kids - give them special mocktails ( non alchoholic drinks ), give them to do the shaking in the shakers, give them extra attention .... they all had fun. Its nice place and we will be visiting it again soon for sure. The theme in the bar is so unique, drinks are prepared with elegance and detailed in the condiments - in order each drink to deliver the WOW effect. A must place to visit for people with sharpened taste and people who know how to enjoy a special beverage tailored up to your taste.

One of the best bars in the world that I’ve been to! Presentation was so beautiful and creative. Drinks were delicious. We didn’t have a reservation but a couple didn’t make it to theirs, so we were able to be seated in under 10 minutes. Good music, good vibes, lively atmosphere! Came to Hemingway’s Gin and Cocktail Bar our first night in Barcelona….awesome experience. Don’t let the outside fool you. Its inconspicuous exterior hides a gem of a find inside. Those that do not have an adventurous spirit need not apply. The handcrafted cocktails were out of this world (see a sample below). Nothing like it…the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Marco, our mixologist and “A” teamed up to make our night one for the record books. If you are in Barcelona, Hemingway’s is not one to miss!

If you're looking for a nice place where to have fantastic and particular cocktails in Barcelona this is the place for you... Nice atmosphere, really nice staff. We find this place on our weekend in Barcelona. First time and we felt welcomed by the staff. They recommended the cocktails based on our personal preferences. Absolutely recommend 👌

Best cocktails we had in Barcelona, hands down! This place is very clear on what they serve - no beer, no wine (except champagne), no orange juice or cola. Just delicious, wonderfully balanced cocktails that are beautifully presented. They have a small menu of bar snacks which looked nice but we didn't get to try. Our bartender was friendly and spoke English which was really helpful. Highly recommend the Jon Snow cocktail which comes with a mini cake, yum!

If your looking for an intimate bar for drinks this little bar is great for couples. The seating areas are very small and not friendly for large groups. The drinks are amazing, fun & unique. Price range from 10-20euros.

My friends and I came to Hemingway on our first night in BCN snd it was the perfect place to start our trip. The place is small and intimate but has such fun and chill vibes with good music. The bartenders were welcoming and engaging, and we never felt uncomfortable despite being a group of gals in a new city where we spoke very little of the language. Our drinks were all served beautifully in fun glassware, and the drinks themselves were all really good. I asked for a nonalcoholic drink with a ginger beer base and I honestly don't quite know what I got but it was tasty and I enjoyed it. I'd say Hemingway is more of a relaxed upscale lounge vibe which is exactly what we wanted (not like a rager bar scene), and definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!

Came here on our first night in Barcelona and it didn't disappoint! The place is pretty small and fits about 15-20 people max. Bar seating is preferred so you can see them make the drinks. Drinks were really tasty!

Hemingway is a snazzy little cocktail bar. The bar is small and intimate. The mixologists are dressed very sharply with a red leather apron. Both our bartenders were extremely nice and informative. I appreciated all the input they gave us when deciding on picking a drink. I've met my new favorite drink of all time - Scarlet Ramos Gin Fizz, this drink is topped with popped rocks and a rolled up biscuit. If you like sweet, refreshing, and candy - this drink is for you! The beau got the Don Pablo that was served in a tea cup with a biscuit. Don't let that fool you as it was a tequila drink. Both drinks were outstanding and presentation was 100. I'll definitely be recommending friends to stop into Hemingway for a drink on their travels.

Amazing cocktails, but the place is too small! We let the bartender "surprise" us with his best drinks and he for sure did. We were three people, and each of us had the opportunity to try two cocktails. My favorite one had wasabi, yes wasabi. But it's for sure something you will no try anywhere else, and at the end that's what you are looking for when you let someone else decide for you :)

This a belated review. This place is all that and more and thanks to YELP we found it!! The most friendly (non pretentious) mixologists. So refreshing compared to NYC where you're never too cool enough. The most amazing menu and maybe the best drinks we've EVER had and believe me, we like our liquor!! So if in Barcelona, this is a must. Just be prepared, the place is very small with limited seating. So best to go at off peak hours. The care and detail they put into each drink is amazing.

This is, hands down, the best bar I have ever been to. We had wandered passed here a few times as it was near our hotel, and on our last night in town decided we'd stop in for a quick drink. A quick drink turned into several drinks and several hours later. What a gem this place is. The bartender and manager, Daniel, is phenomenal. He, along with his barback whose name I did not catch, were so welcoming, accommodating, and interesting to watch. They not only made delicious drinks (DELICIOUS), they put on a spectacle. Every drink on the menu is thoughtfully crafted and presented, and twists on originals are well executed. The space is quite cramped but never feels overcrowded and overbearing the way a lot of bars in NYC can, and the crowd was a combination of locals and tourists. Even though we were tourists, we instantly felt like it was a bar we'd gone to for years, and a lot of that is thanks to Daniel and his barback. We were so disappointed we didn't discover this until our last night in town, but we will recommend it to anyone who asks. Tip: sit at the bar. Watching them make the drinks is half the fun. Also come thirsty and don't pregame this place because you'll keep ordering more and more drinks just to watch them get made.

Great place for craft cocktails! It's like dinner and a show! Very welcoming and wonderful service. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good cocktail in Barcelona!

Sometimes you want something different than a gin tonic, and for that, Hemingway has you covered. We stopped in Hemingway early in the evening for a quick drink before meandering on throughout Barcelona. We had the Black Bottled Negroni and the Scarlett Gin Fizz and really enjoyed the conversation we had with our bartender. The amount of work they put into their cocktails is impressive, and certainly worth the money. I loved the intimate vibe of here as well as their extensive menu of drinks!

DO NOT COME IF YOU ARE A TOURIST. The cocktails were great. Unfortunately, a lonely sad fellow in the center apartment on the second floor felt the need to toss a bucket of water onto our group, in turn soaking half of the people. As a person who interacts with tourists in my home country, I would never dream of assaulting strangers. Let alone hiding my face from sight and closing the window. What could've been a great evening was ruined and though the staff seemed annoyed, nothing was remotely done to address the issue. Again, tourists SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE, it's the safer bet.

Interesting cocktail bar. Fancy & amazing looking drinks and taste absolutely wonderful. Pricier than other places in Barcelona but worth to try. (€10-14) Super tiny bar in the basement but you can also sit outside if you don't like to squeeze in there. I personally prefer outside when the weather is favorable. My favorite drink is Mother of Dragons; Vodka, Blueberry & Blackcurrant Cordial, Pandan Syrup, and some sour mixed. Very refreshing. My friend prefer stronger drink and her favorite is Choke and Smoke...I did not try her drink but I ate the chocolate that came with it :) It was good lol. Another friend ordered gin base drink I don't remember the name but it was good as well. Overall it is a great hangout spot with a very interesting signature cocktail!

TOURISTS AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Sadly the drinks were great however this bar is below an apartment on level 2 to be precise and our tour group had a large bucket of water thrown on top of them while sitting outside with our drinks at 7 pm on a Saturday night. While the staff seemed annoyed, they really did nothing about it not even offer a drink comp. In addition the locals that were next to us at a table under an umbrella and dry didn't seem worried, frustrated, or concerned that we had three liters of water thrown on us. I cannot imagine treating anyone who visited my home town this way especially the people stimulating the economy of my beloved city. Tourists avoid this bar.

Best cocktail bar experience I've ever had, even compared to NYC, where I'm from. The bartender knew his stuff, was very friendly, and gave great recommendations. You can see they really put a lot of effort and detail into this place. The Montgomery and Dragon Queen was delicious and beautiful. Definitely try to come here!

We went to this place on our second night in Barcelona and were blown away. Not only are the cocktails extremely innovative and artistic, but Daniel (the bar manager) and Fabrizio and Marcello (the bartenders) were super welcoming. Whenever someone walked in the door, they greeted them with a warm welcome and helped them pick out the exact type of cocktail they would want. We went to another great cocktail bar the next night (La Bombilla) and mentioned that we went to Hemingway the night before, and the owner said "those guys at Hemingway are some of the best bartenders in the city and the nicest guys." Pro tip: if you're a mezcal lover, order the Ticla. It's delivered to you in a bus! How fun. Really you can't go wrong through - every cocktail is created with care and presented in a unique way.

This is where the Picassos of Barcelona Cocktails are. They are well worth the money. My friend and I had their Signature Gin Cocktail and the Vodka based "Mother of Dragons", plus two more gin and vodka based cocktails (I don't recall the names). They were both amazing with layers of complexity. The cocktails themselves were not the only feast for the eyes though, watching them being made was something else as well. I have never seen a mix of ballet and Cirque du Soleil in Cocktail showmanship. We are coming back here every time we visit Barcelona.

Amazing experience. Mike was entertaining, insightful and so I dare say... extremely charming? We were visiting from the US, being that I am a fan of Hemingway I had to make a stop. Was not disappointed. As hacky as it sounds, it was more then drinks but an experience. Mike asked us questions to determine the type of drinks we would love and customized them to our preferences. I still think of the drinks I had and the actual experience.

Visiting Barcelona? You need to visit this place!! Such a great bar with great drinks! It's hard to find a great cocktail in Barcelona but this is a hit! Bartenders are welcoming and the theme is a unique Will be back again this year :-)

Cool bar with very creative drinks. Price is reasonable and the bartender is super nice and friendly. My friend and I were randomly looking up for drinks on google map and felt so lucky to find out this spot. They have some interesting cocktails even in a matching glass. Both I tried taste great.

Thank you Fabrizio. This is a place where the drinks are more complicated than they should be and rightfully so. They take effort for each drink and make sure that you like it, enjoy it and remember it. A true cocktail experience.

This was such a cute little bar! The bar tenders really know what they are doing and put on a show! Definitely a hidden gem, I'm surprised they don't have more reviews. Don't be discouraged by how small and packed it is, GET IN THERE!
