Thanks to Yelp reviews, I found the Hen House Eatery prior to flying to Minneapolis. It was my first stop after my one-hour flight.
I Ubered there with no problem.
It was about 20 minutes from MSP, and a few blocks from my hotel. I only had one carry-on bag, so it wasn't a huge deal to bring it with me.
The place was packed at 9:30 am on a Saturday.
I expected a crowd after reading the reviews.
Upon entering, I was greeted by the yummy smell of syrup, butter, baked goods, and bacon. You know, that weekend morning smell that woke you from your slumber as a child.
I was immediately seated at the counter as I didn't have a party with me.
There's also booth seating.
The vibe was very New York/big city lunch counter.
Unfortunately for me, and for Yelping sake, I wasn't able to capture many pics and didn't notice much for moving so fast.
I saw a few cute decorations, but I didn't have a clear shot to capture them. I also saw merch for sale.
The menu was vast, boasting of breakfast and lunch classics and specialty items. It was a difficult decision to choose what to order, so much of it sounded delicious.
They serve different Benedict's, I had the Crab-Baby, others available are a Foxy with fried green tomatoes, a California with guacamole, and a traditional version.
There's a corned beef hash, pancakes, caramel rolls, a chorizo bowl, waffles, omelets, sandwiches, and much more.
They close at 2 pm on the weekends.
The Hen House Eatery is a must try.
