Google
I don't give out all 5s often but when I do the places earn it. This little diamond in the ruff is a great location in all categories. Staff is friendly and straightforward, the regulars are as well. It's a chill semi upscale dive bar is the best description to give and it's worth a visit

Google
Came to watch an NBA playoff game. Super chill atmosphere with great decorations. Beer was cold and the staff was super friendly. Didn't order any food but everything coming out looked and smelled great. Would definitely recommend for a nice place to hangout.

Google
Food options were limited (no southwest eggrolls, no chicken sandwich, no Henderson burger). The burgers were very small. Their mixed drinks were good, but overall, I was not impressed.

I have been going here for years! It is a great place to hang out with friends. Everyone who goes here are down to earth and chill. They do karaoke on Tuesday and Friday nights! So if you love karaoke this place should definitely be on your list. Service here is always amazing, no matter who is behind the bar!

Google
Great place to hang out. Ashley and the staff are wonderful and very attentive. Food is great, plenty of choices for drinks, and reasonable prices! Lots of TVs to watch any sporting events, dog-friendly (outside), kid-friendly (during the day), regular specials/events. Inside and outside spaces are both nice and large. Check it out!

Google
This is the perfect balance between dive bar, sports bar, and casual lounge. Plenty of seating and most had back support! Exactly what I love now that I’m almost 30 and I can’t deal with Christian’s tailgate or Woodrow’s anymore. Fried chicken sandwich had awesome flavor. Wings were delicious and had a decent amount of meat on them. Tots were not anything special. Everything was made FRESH and came out hot which I appreciate. Service was great!

Google
Never had a bad time there. I’m a cigar smoker. Once I asked the bartender if she mind if I smoke and she said “as long as you don’t blow it in the dogs face”…love it. Give her a raise!!

Google
A casual place with a nice ambience that allows kids until 8 pm. We went there for drinks and bites after a walk in the Park. We went around 6 pm and could have kids with us. Liked the beer and the ambience with fun quotes all over that’s bound to make you chuckle. They had outdoor sitting which worked great for us. Except for our server majority staff was not wearing masks though. Their egg rolls were nice.

Yelp
small private parking lot. street parking. dive bar vibes. patio seating available. partial menu unavailable. attentive bartender. offer food menu + happy hour.

Yelp
My husband and I frequent Henderson often. It's a great local bar with good food and nice atmosphere. The patio is great for fall weather and the entire place has lots of tv's so it's great for sports watching. Last night we had the tots, burger bowl and wings and were super happy with our food. The bartenders offer great service and are always friendly. They also have a great happy hour!
google avatar

Brian R.

Yelp
The burgers here are THE BEST in Houston. I've had burger bodega and burger joint, and while they are good, this place is better. So much better. Awesome patio. A hidden gem in Old Sixth.
google avatar

Yelp
Classic dive bar with plenty of TVs, good drink service, a cool patio, and your typical bar bites. Convenient to get to off of Washington, with some solid street parking. Shame the longhorns lost the CFP semifinals :(

Yelp
Went there on a Monday to check it out. Ordered the pulled pork tostadas and beers. The tostadas were nice and crunchy and the toppings were fresh and tasty. The only thing I wanted was a little more heat (spice) on them. Other than that, the serving size was great for the price. I missed having a happy hour, but the prices were good regardless. Nice choices for beer too. The atmosphere is pretty nice and laid back. Give the place a try and see for yourself.

Yelp
LOVE this place. Patio is great. Food is good. Love the cozy neighborhood bar vibes. I do get annoyed about the $5 misc mixer fee per drink so I will just get beer going forward. A tab that could have been $21 for 2 beers & 2 frozen 8 ounce drinks is now $31 excluding tip...

Yelp
Stopped here one night for a beer and burger. Service was great. We sat outside as the weather was nice and the outside seating was spacious. It was a weeknight so not packed. The menu had great options and loved that popcorn was an option. My husband and I ordered a burger each and tator tots and fries. Everything was tasty, the beer was ice cold, and our bartender was very kind. Several tvs were on showing different sports which is always a plus for me! Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was really good, no complaints whatsoever. Unfortunately, the new menu (as of July 2024) does not list what any of the dishes' prices are. It currently only tells you how much additional ingredients are, like $4 to add chicken to a salad whose base price is a mystery. If this gets corrected by the business, you'll see us again!

Yelp
Came here after a nice dinner across the street. Our original choice for after dinner drinks was closed on Monday so we ended up here. This is a cool little spot off Washington in what looks to have been a house turned bar. I really enjoyed the quirky look of the place as well as the humorous signs all over the place. It looked empty when we walked in, but almost everyone was outside enjoying the space out there. We decided to take a seat inside. Everyone ordered random drinks. I made a basket in the hoop inside so I got a free shit as well. Drinks were just ok. Service was good. I would highly suggest sitting outside as the inside was pretty toasty which made is finish our one drink and hop to the next spot. I would come back if in the area.

Yelp
Server was very friendly and nice smile, made you feel very welcome. Patio was great nice a breezy/cool on a typical muggy Houston afternoon. Burgers cook to perfection, full of flavor. Onion rings homemade with a crispy batter, top 5 onion rings in Houston.

Yelp
Perfect stop when the weather is nice, great patio seating and dog friendly with available dog bowls if you didn't bring your own, and treats for your pets too. Order ahead and get a number, and the food gets brought to you. Parking is not GREAT, but doable, though I can see if it's super busy it being a little problematic. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it got busier after we left. Ordered a few apps: nachos, spicy curds and southwest egg rolls. They also had a brunch menu we just didn't want to eat anything that big. Food tasted good, seemed fresh too! Great place to watch the game, as they had several streaming on different screens.

Yelp
Great place to come with some friends, hangout, relax, have some great food and drinks! Everything we got from the food to drinks were really good and we definitely plan on coming back. Bartender was kind and fast as well!

Yelp
Karaoke Nights on Tuesday are the best! The bartender Katie is the sweetest. 10/10 would recommend!
google avatar

Kaylee G.

Yelp
Super chilled laid back environment. The food: corn dogs-good not really hard to mess up. Cheeseburger quesadilla w/tots- the tots needed to be cooked longer and the quesadilla was a little dry. Perhaps it just needed more mustard on it. Southwest burger w/tots-very juicy, onions and mushrooms where cooked great and was the perfect amount. The buns did need to be a little more crisper along with the tots. Our server had a bit of an attitude and wasn't all that friendly. Over all we would go back!
google avatar

Cecily C.

Yelp
Loved the environment! Food was a good price and service was fantastic! They had a fire pit and it was overall a great experience!

Laura M.

Yelp
Henderson is by far my favorite neighborhood bar! Love coming here for after work beers.. or anytime beers. Food is tasty, great wings and fried pickles! Love coming in and chatting with Sophie, she makes bad ass Jell-O shots!

Yelp
As good as it gets! I've been to this establishment many times and I don't know why I'm just now leaving a review. Henderson Heights is a really cool little gem on Washington avenue. They have a large sitting area outside that's perfect if you have a large party. Some of our friends have had their engagement party here as well as a guys baby diaper dump (Men's version of a baby shower). The inside isn't as roomy, it can get a little snug later on at night, but never the less I always have a good time here. Their drinks are nice and they have a food menu in the event you get the munchies. All in all, with pleasant staff, good food and drinks along with accommodating space inside and out I found no reason to give this place anything less than 5 stars.
google avatar

Lydia N.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this neighborhood spot while looking for a good happy hour. Cocktails were $6 and there was a wide selection. They were nothing special, but a great deal nonetheless. We ordered some popcorn chicken tossed in Buffalo sauce. It took probably 20 minutes for them to arrive, and when you bit into them, you could just tell how fake and frozen they were. The inside resembled a McDonald's chicken nugget. They tasted ok, but for $10 per basket, I was not pleased. The place itself is very cool and the bartender was kind. Good lowkey spot to watch sports

Yelp
Great restoration after the fire. Patio is nicer than ever covered and covered areas. Menu is new with flat bread pizza options. Dog friendly.

Yelp
I'm impressed. This establishment is easy breezy. My friend and I sat on the patio. It was relaxing with fans and cozy lights all over. I came out during Covid. Needed sometime out of the house. I ordered the frozen sangria, 2 corn dogs, and some fried pickles. The sangria was nice and tasted of berries. The fried pickles were yummy and not salty which was muah! Only con I have is that the frozen beverages already have the alcohol in them. The sangria comes with rum, which doesn't do well with my system. It would be nice If you could choose which alcohol so put in it. I would go with vodka. Overall cool place. It's worth a visit.

Yelp
You wouldn't think a Wednesday evening at a bar would be a fun date with your 9 yr old, but you would be wrong. Wine was $5 a glass and I was happy with my choice. We didn't try steak night but opted for burgers and melts and weren't disappointed. While we waited we played board games the bar has in the corner, which sparked great conversation about a girl asking you to be your girlfriend during recess. It was great music and great night after a busy two weeks of work. I think this place might be a fun gem for anyone interested in some great deals, good food and laid back feel.

Yelp
I absolutely love Henderson's (Henderson Heights). Sexie Texie and I checked it out for the first time last summer, and we knew we found our new watering hole. Now that I have two pups, Tex and Chichi both love it for the welcoming vibe for fur babies. Clean dog bowls stacked by the water bucket, dog treats by the bar, a dog house, and a staff that gives bottomless belly rubs. As for me, I like the backyard feel. Picnic tables, swings, walk-up window/bar, TVs for sports watchin', free bug spray. And pretty damn good food. The classic cheeseburger is one of the top burgers I've had at a bar in recent years. Served with shoestring fries and for about $10. Filling. Split it so you can enjoy a corndog. Or a pizza. Wednesday steak night isn't too bad, but there are better in town. They have a brunch menu that I hear is popular - need to remember to give it a try since this is now in my new hood! There is an indoor area with A/C that's simply blasting, a few bar games and wifi. Yup, I've taken my laptop up there to work and enjoy a cheap dinner all by my lonesome. Friendly staff. Neighborhood locals. 5-stars for Henderson.

Yelp
I got the garlic Parmesan flatbread and was impressed. The flavor is great. It's more of a light lunch than a filling meal. This place also has a great atmosphere. Very relaxed. This is a solid spot to either eat lunch or grab dinner and hang out with some friends for a drink out back.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. This is a nice little patio bar/restaurant off Washington Avenue: ample parking, polite service, reasonably priced drinks/food, and plenty of screens to watch football/sports. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with sweet and sour sauce and a side of tater tots. The sandwich was delicious. The sweet and sour sauce packed quite a punch. The patio is dog friendly so, I'll 100% be back with my pooch.

Yelp
It's hard to find good bbq in Houston. (Yes, I know - sad). But this place makes up for what you can mirnally find in the hill country.
google avatar

Yelp
An old house converted into the quintessential neighborhood bar. Great atmosphere, there was a genuine sense of comradery and good spirits (pun intended )among the patrons you know high energy flowing I liked that. For being such a cold night it was packed. My husband is in a cycle riding group and the meet and greet was there so we headed out to the patio area where everybody gathered around the fire. They have a decked out patio that seems to be new and it is pretty cool has a big gas fire pit and warmers around, ample seating and ramps going in and out makes it accessible for everybody. They have a small menu we ordered a burger or sandwich for my husband and son and I heard it was pretty good. We had a good time there.

Yelp
A block off Houston's up and coming Washington Avenue and a five-minute drive from Downtown, Henderson Heights is quite the nightspot. It's a laid back neighborhood bar where customers can feel like they're at home. Makes sense since it's in a residential district. The place has an outdoor area with benches -- and get this -- swing sets! The proprietor(s) were probably inspired by backyard barbeques on the Fourth of July and Saturdays in the park when putting together the setup. When Mother Nature cooperates, this is where you want to be. Before it slips my mind, it should be worth mentioning that Henderson serves really awesome pizza. Since the pies are thin crust, you're able to enjoy the toppings. I can't get enough of their BYO Pizza with mushrooms, onions, and extra cheese. I'd like to a catch a game here, especially with the Rockets in the playoffs.

Yelp
Maybe we came in on a low stock day. Apparently we ordered two different beers were out! Service was slow but sure when it was not busy.
google avatar

Yelp
Just started coming to this place with some friends of mine and man was it the best decision! Veronica and Ashley are the best bartenders ever.. we all instantly hit it off. Ashley makes amazing cocktails like the hibiscus sky drink she made me and Veronica is great at concocting some interesting shots. All of the frozen drinks there are amazing.. especially the sangria and green tea. The outdoor area is huge and an all round great place to be on any day of the week! They have swings, huge chairs to climb on and lots of tables.

Yelp
Tucked away off of the Washington Ave. craziness, is Henderson Heights. It's a cool little bar, with a divey feel. Anyone who is familiar with Liberty Station has probably seen this red building across the street from it. The place has a spacious patio with a bunch of quirky signs and it's equipped with tvs too. Make sure to bring your four legged little ones, it's pup friendly too! It also has indoor seating but it's a little drab. If you're sitting outside, you can go up to the window on the side and place your orders. The bartenders are always friendly and are always ready to help make drink suggestions. The frozen lemonade is delish and the last time we went, they had a frozen watermelon-lemonade, it was tasty and strong! The drink prices are decent and they have nice happy hour options. Now on to the food. The times we've been here, the food has just been "meh" and not really worth the price. In my opinion, if you come here, I would stick to the drinks and maybe little appetizers. I like the atmosphere and this place has lots of good potential. When we're in the area, we like to stop in here for a few drinks. I've never been in the evening hours so I can't say how it is for late night drinks, but it's chill during the day. Stop in and give it a try when you're going down Washington.

Yelp
I am so glad we found this place!! It is set back off the main road a little bit but it is such a cool little place! Drinks: My boyfriend had a frozen lemonade with a raspberry topper and it was pretty tart but still was really good! I had the frozen jack and coke and it tasted like a coke slurpee!! Food: we had the chips and queso, southwestern egg rolls, and a burger and fries. Our favorite by far was their fries! They were so good! They did have good queso which is always appreciated! Happy hour: we went during happy hour (M-F 3-7) and so the chips and queso and southwestern egg rolls were $5! Ambience: It is a very laid-back place and dogs are welcome! There are cute little swings on the porch and plenty of TVs! Overall we really enjoyed this place and will most definitely be back!

Yelp
Good place to bring you dog and have a beer and snack on some nachos .. place is really friendly. Has a good vibe and well vented outside patio. Plus if you pay cash you get a discount
google avatar

Samantha V.

Yelp
Came here on a rainy Sunday night because since I had my dog with me. There was a lot of outdoor seating which would be a great to enjoy on a good summer day. I only had a Moscow mule which was just your standard mule. The food was meh. I ordered a burger and loaded tots and requested the onions to be left off. They both came out with a tons of onions. The place had maybe 4 other customers who were only drinking so to incorrectly prepare a meal on such a slow night was strange. I can see the food being good after a long night of drinking but other then that, I'll pass. I'll definitely come back for the drinks and big patio, but won't be waste me money on food.

Brady J.

Yelp
Walked in shortly after open, we liked the rustic look. The service was not good service, I think smiles costed extra. Happy hour prices were not applied to the receipt until asked. It was added after a, " So you you want me to refund you a $1?". We were treated as if we were in the wrong for having an incorrect receipt. The bartender, bless her heart, seemed like she didn't want to be there and her actions body language showed that. The food was over priced as well. Fries tasted like the freezer, flat bread was the size of a pop tart, and the mint in the mojito was wilted and dark. We were also the only customer there. Over all a rough experience and wouldn't recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
Moved into some offices down the street and was looking for a place to have lunch. Saw this on yelp and thought we would try it. Ordered burgers and tots. Everything was really good-they have a variety of items on their menu. The bartenders were also our servers and were very attentive. We will be back!! Creative decor and seating! There is also a patio area for seating that is covered.

Kara P.

Yelp
The menu changed recently and all the best things are gone. Bring back loaded tots and cheese curds
google avatar

Meredith B.

Yelp
Wonderful service and good food. The frozen lemonade is a must and they have lots of flavors. The menu is small, but that means the food sis well made. We had the grilled chicken sandwich which was par for the course and bbq pulled pork sliders. The sliders were really good and everything you would expect for a good bite to eat. The bartender/server on sunday mornings was outstanding and very friendly. Would definitely come back if I lived in the area. Recommending to my houston friends and family.

Yelp
Broken glass from light bulbs and bottles in gravel. NOT FOR DOGS BUT DOGS ALLOWED. Ordered dog beer for my dog and she made a face saying "they are $8"... I ordered it, i didnt ask price. Hipsters everywhere, just an observation. Gin mule was good, the atmosphere is basic and relaxed. Most should feel comfortable at the least.
google avatar

Todd R.

Yelp
Plain and simple don't be fooled by the reviews of the food. It's marginal at best. This place is truly just a bar although it seems like it could be a fun bar it's not a place to go specifically to eat.
google avatar

Orze K.

Yelp
This is one of our go to spots because it's DOG friendly and we always bring the puppy along to the patio. The menu is pretty good with solid food selections. There's always some games on so it's a very casual and cool environment. We've been here twice and I'm sure over time that'll only increase more and more over time. Great lunch spot on a beautiful day in Houston!

Yelp
Enjoyed this place for a quick late night dinner & drinks. We participated in the daily special that was going on: $5 whiskeys & 1/2 off pizza (Thursday's). We also ordered a burger with fries as well. I wasn't impressed with the burger (way smaller than the bun itself), so that was a no go for me. However, I loved the shoe string fries & the union pizza was pretty tasty as well. Do keep in mind it was a very thin & crunchy crust. Service was excellent, bartender was very kind & friendly. You order at the counter & someone will bring your food out to your table. The atmosphere was my favorite about Henderson Heights. The outdoor patio is spacious and fun! I would definitely come here again, but maybe skip the dinner (unless a good daily special or happy hour) and just do drinks.

Yelp
Saturday chillin and found this place. Service was great, patio was super chill, loved the swings and drinks were tasty and not overpriced.
google avatar

Ken M.

Yelp
Web site says happy hour 3:00-7:00. Did not specify days, went on a Saturday afternoon to discover its mon-fri. Crap!! Frozen lemonade was barely drinkable....service was lacking, they were more focused on some slightly drunk guys playing mini-basketball
google avatar

Sabrina F.

Yelp
What a cute little spot! We stopped by on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised by the good food and relaxed vibes. // Dog friendly with complimentary water bowels // Spacious patio WITH rotating fans // Great parking situation (for the area) // Easy menu with your go-to bar favs (burgers, wraps, flatbreads and even a few salad options!) We'll definitely add Henderson's to the rotation when frequenting The Heights!
google avatar

Caroline B.

Yelp
As far as patio bars go, this is a good option for happy hours and light bites. The patio is very spacious and it has so many clever, hand-painted signs that are sure to make you smile. I'm a sucker for frozen drinks, so I tried both the frozen vodka lemonade and the frozen sangria. They were delicious and decently strong! For dinner, I shared the fried pickle spears, bacon ranch quesadillas, and cheeseburger quesadillas (the menu is right--don't knock them until you try them!). My only issue with this cute little place was the staff. The whole time I was there, one of the bartenders was not wearing a mask...I made sure to stay away as much as possible. The staff also seemed to favor the regular customers and they were not overly friendly to newbies. If it weren't for the staff, I'd definitely give this place five stars. I will give it another try in the future, but when I do, I'll turn around if there's a lack of masks!

Yelp
This is such a great indoor/outdoor bar. The bar tenders are amazing and all the drinks are delicious!

Yelp
Love this place! Megan is the bestest ever!! Such a warm and friendly staff. Gumbo festival April 7th. Live music too

Nick L.

Yelp
Food was pretty bad, very small beer selection, and not cheap. Service was good but not worth another visit
