At £21.50, I had fairly high expectations for the roast dinner, but unfortunately it fell a bit short. The food itself was tasty, but it was the first time I’ve had a roast and still felt quite hungry afterwards. The portion included a small serving of potatoes, a quarter of a carrot and parsnip, three thin slices of seitan, and a small Yorkshire pudding. I would’ve loved to see a bit more variety of vegetables on the plate — though you can add some green veg for an extra £6.50.
The cheesecake was delicious, but again, quite a small portion. Altogether, at £42 for a roast dinner, dessert, and a mocktail, it felt like rather little food for the price, and I left not feeling fully satisfied.
That said, it’s a lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere, and I’d happily return for a special occasion — just perhaps not for the roast.
