Absolutely outstanding food. The flavours were next level – every dish perfectly balanced, full of depth and creativity. You can tell there’s real skill and passion in the kitchen. Honestly, the chef deserves Michelin-level recognition for what’s coming out of this place. The front-of-house team were just as impressive. The girls were fantastic – warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming without ever being over the top. Service was spot on from start to finish. What really makes this place special is that it has soul. You can feel the history and the philosophy behind the food, not just a restaurant trying to follow trends. It’s rare to find somewhere this authentic and consistent. I truly hope Hendersons continues for many decades to come – places like this are a real treasure. We’ll definitely be back.

Celebrated our son’s Graduation Day here last Monday and we all had a wonderful time. Couldn’t fault anything. Food was delicious, well presented and extremely filling! The pastry chef even makes dog biscuits for the canine guests. We will definitely be dining here again. Staff are very accommodating and friendly. Excellent service. Thank you for making the day special.

I had a very nice meal here this evening! For starters we enjoyed the nibbles board and then really really loved the cullen skink (a highlight)! We just went for a bottle of house white wine but that impressed too. For our mains we tried the haggis and the lions mane steak which were alright but the dishes weren’t as refined as they could be, with the ‘whisky sauce’ for the haggis definitely missing a bit of whisky, and the quinoa of the lions mane dish feeling a bit random. We still really enjoyed our meal and left full and happy with great service as well (forgot our waitress’s name but we were sat on the underground level and she was lovely!). We will hopefully return on our next visit to Edinburgh and look forward to what they do next.

Absolutely stunning food with such a gorgeous and varied menu that it was difficult to decide what to have! The service is always second to none, with wonderful ambiance and beautiful attention to detail in decor. My only criticism is that the restaurant isn't entirely vegan, otherwise I would go more often!

A very popular spot in Edinburgh for vegan Scottish food. We tried the mushroom steak and haggis which were unique in their flavours. Our favourite dish was the sweet toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream. As someone who tried Scottish food for the first time, it was a great welcome meal to Edinburgh. The ambience of the restaurant is beautiful!

I came here for my birthday during a trip to Edinburgh. The food and drinks were fantastic. Loads of vegan options, and the staff are so attentive and really made it feel special for me. 100% recommended.

We came here on our honeymoon and absolutely loved it! The food is astonishing (we’ve been vegetarian for over a decade and haven’t found a restaurant this abundant and diverse in choice) and the lovely waitresses were so welcoming! Thank you for a magical dinner :)

We were a party of six having a special celebration dinner felt treated like royalty by our server… personable, attentive and much attention to detail. The food was exceptional as were the cocktails! This was food that would reverse many people’s perception that vegan/vegetarian food is bland and stodgy! Unusual and imaginative dishes that we would not have thought of.
