Great place to stop in for a drink. When you do, you will want to stay for the membership. Patrons are friendly, chill and mixologist Adrian knows exactly what you might like. He's smooth and so are his creations. I especially like the idea that it's in an undisturbed industrial area on the weekends...CHILL...

Absolutely gorgeous spirit!! I tried this due to my amazing friend/family. Not a strong kick, very smooth and sweet. I can't lie the first time I smelt it I thought of mouthwash but once I tasted it was sweet with strong tones of cinnamon. Just thought it reminds me of cinnamon rolls and if you do mix drinks I DON'T but I imagine you could do an orange slice and cinnamon rolls glaze to have fun but straight up.. it is a fun drink. It's definitely a dinner party with friends or you have a bold peppery cigar drink. I highly recommend getting a bottle or two. It's also DEFINITELY top 2-3 bourbons in San Diego and probably the best infused one I've had. As far infused bourbons go.. it's definitely my 3rd favorite. I only have two bottles in front and those Leopold Bros BlackBerry and; Peach infused whiskey. Which is saying A LOT!! Honestly surprised the bottle is so cheap too. LOVE that this is a local drink.

It pains me to do this review. I had been coming here for years but now they sneakily did a "convenience fee" for card payments without telling me. Some would say I am being "cheap" but to me it is the principle. I think it is dishonest of them. They lost a very loyal customer. Take cards without trying to sneak in more money. Sorry, you lost a very loyal customer. I don't care what others think. It is the principle.

Absolutely love this place. The drinks are next level and the staff is amazing. Lots of care and knowledge are put into the craft. They host some great events too so recommend keeping an eye out for upcoming holiday parties. NOTE you must be a member to buy bottles or a drink during the members only after business hours.

This review is based on only tasting tour at Henebery spirits. Tina and Linsey received us and they were very warm and friendly. Looks like the regular to guide was not available, So Linsey gave us the tour. She was not the regular guide so she was not fully aware of the distillery process but she gave us the history information. Even though she was not knowledgeable of the entire process of distillation she was honest and gave us as much as information as she could. Henebery spirits Is not easy to find, it is hidden in an industrial area behind the buildings. On tasting we tried Rye whiskey, this was my favorite. It was very smooth and dry. One of the best rye I ever had. This is best had it neat. 2nd round was on stronger rye, it was too strong for me. 3rd was Carolina reaper pepper, it was very spicy. The after taste was very strong, may be good for some cocktails, not as neat. Apart from tasting, this place makes great cocktails, wow. We tried Manhattan and Old fashioned, great cocktails. Best Manhattan I ever had. After the tour, I was very impressed with the great man's history, Henebery. Glad I took this tour. Hope to take this tour again to learn more about whiskey process.

To be fair, I thought it would be gut wrenching drink. To my surprise it’s super smooth, much flavor, and no horrible after taste. I will continue to order from this outstanding brewery. It is THAT good!

I love whiskey, and Henebery makes, by far, the best whiskies and ryes I have ever tasted. Their recent release of "Hooded Assassin", a collaboration with Battlemage Brewing, is unique and just fantastic. Anyone lucky enough to get their hands on the three-bottle set of straight malt whiskey made with the last beers brewed at Iron Fist by Chris Fitzgerald, who is now Henebery's distiller, is in for a real treat. I always have multiple bottles of their "Celebrated Rye Whiskey" on hand even though I live 175 miles away, thanks to Henebery's fast California shipping!

Delicious drinks, very well-priced, warm and cozy atmosphere, fun and chatty locals, fantastic spot to hang out for the night in north county. Whiskey lovers paradise and they still serve other drinks for non-whiskey lovers; I had a vodka blackberry cocktail and a seasonal/special spiced apple margarita. Awesome owners and staff.

Previously, I had come here a long while ago for a Yelp Elite event (probably 5-6 years ago?) It gave me the opportunity to try Henebery Spirits. I'm not much of a whiskey drinker, so you can bet I was surprised when I thought the drink was quite decent. I ended up purchasing a subscription for a year so I can bring a bottle back to my boyfriend at the time (now he's my husband). We came again recently after I was brainstorming presents for some of our close guy friends, and I thought of Henebery Spirits' old fashioned! I recalled he thought it was not bad. I convinced my husband to try a whiskey tasting to see if it was the one that he wanted. He does sigh if anyone brings this experience up, because we also didn't really have anything to eat prior and he wasn't originally planning to drink several kinds of whiskey. I wanted to try their battle mage (their collaboration with the battle mage brewery next door), and ended up not liking it, so he had did have to finish majority of the tasting. Note to self, invite another friend that can drink next time, so he doesn't suffer. We ended up buying a few of the Henebery's old fashioned bottles to gift to our friends, and then headed out. I would recommend if you're stuck wondering what to get a friend that likes alcohol, if they're partial to old fashioned, Henebery makes a fine one, and it makes a great present! Also if you like whiskey, definitely come by.

Amazing drinks, amazing staff, amazing venue! The people here are so cool and down to earth, its a great place to grab a cocktail and watch a Padres game. Food trucks usually are there Friday nights. We also held a school fundraiser at Henebery and the staff was amazing with setup and service. Cant say enough good things about this business.

This place is six years old. We moved into the area five years ago. I am mad at myself, and my friends for not telling me, about this awesome little gem right down the street. It is tucked away in a business center. There was a taco truck which was nice because when you are drinking it is nice to have food. The bartender was super cool. I like to order by talking with the staff. He asked, "Do you want a refreshing drink, or a spirt forward." Which, I legit, thought was the most classy way of saying heavy on the spirit side. I ordered both as my wife was in the restroom and I knew she would want the refreshing cocktail, and I, the spirit forward. The crowd was really unique. Everyone was polite. I even shared a loud laugh with a group outside. Great drinks. Great people. Super cool place. Highly recommend checking it out. We will return. Might become our regular night cap for date nights. It is wonderful to have such great establishments such as this in our area. Give them some love.

During this COVID pandemic I began collecting sanitizers from distilleries (IG @Boozy_Santizers) and Henebery popped up as a location. After having drinks and lunch at Belching Beaver Pub 980, we drove 10 minutes (if that) to Henebery to pick up sanitizers. Their tasting room isn't open and they don't have a patio. They also don't have a kitchen so they would have been closed, anyway. They did have items for sale to pick up and a nice lady patiently helped us with our purchase. We found out as we were leaving she was the head bartender, and her name is Tina. She totally made a great first impression on us, and Stephen ended up taking home 2 different kind of bottles, sight unseen. Looking forward to visiting again, when the ban is lifted.

Great cocktails and atmosphere. The servers were friendly. We ate from the food truck that was there that night. It was all good!

Stopped in and had a very, very tasty Old Fashioned, in a smoked glass. The staff was very friendly, and their Rye was beautiful. You're limited to one cocktail. It's "membership only" if you want to buy a bottle - I checked their website for what that means, but I still can't figure it out, and they didn't have pamphlets that explained it. They have very short hours. After hours is "members only".

Delicious sazerac cocktail. Dog friendly. Old fashioned was food as well. Could do without the screaming children inside so we sat outside. Not the establishments fault. No one wants to escape their stress with screaming kids anywhere.

I've been here 3 times- once for an elite event and twice on my own dime. I'm more of a beer person but whiskey is always enjoyable. The last time I visited with a friend, it was a Friday night. A long week calls for a ton of alcohol. We had already made a stop prior to this location but my friend said she had never been here before. Well, it's my duty as a yelper to introduce her to new places! The bartender was super friendly when I asked her to make me her favorite drink. I have no idea what it was called but it was a delicious strawberry milkshake type of drink. If we were planning on staying a while, I would've ordered another but we had to leave. There are two seating areas but this time, the back area was closed. Sadly, it made the only area very tight and almost impossible to get comfortable while enjoying your drink. I'll be back!

We got a Groupon for a tasting & a tour. We came during one of the Padres game & it was busy! They have plenty of seating outside, but all were taken, so they were able to accommodate us inside, which was perfect so we could watch the game. Unfortunately, they do not do the Groupon tasting & tour anymore but they honored our voucher & we just did the tasting. We sampled, I believe, 6 of their whiskeys. It was cool to see that they had a collaboration the local brewery Latitude 33. Everything that they serve is exclusive to the shop except their Henebery Celebrated Whiskey, which can be found at BevMo. They also serve serve cocktails, strong & tasty! Great customer service! & there was a Mexican food stand set up when I was there on a Friday.

I'm so happy that there is a whiskey spot somewhat close to me!!! I've been keeping a close eye on Henebery because I love to try new drinks and I'm getting sick of beer. So first I their hours are a little different but that's okay because hopefully they will change them. So I finally had the chance to come in and have a drink and the bartender was so helpful, knowledgeable, and just a nice guy. When I think of whiskey I think of strong and smooth! The whiskey here is definitely smooth but I had a mixed drink so it wasn't very strong at all which I like. The menu is a great size with some amazing drinks that are very unique! Whiskey may not be for everyone but the drink menu has something for just about everyone. I'm not a fan of drinking whiskey neat so thank goodness that they have mixed drinks. I'm so amazed with what they're doing hear from the layout which is very clean and has the history of Henerbery to the mixed drinks which are fantastic! Yes it's a small spot but it definitely works!!!

This is such a fun place to try all kinds of deliciously flavored whiskeys! Everyone you will sample is out of this world! I can't wait to go back with my family! I purchased every flavor for my home bar so we can make some of their creative drinks at home too!

Do yourself a favor if you are a whiskey lover go here! Henebery is a whiskey distillery where they make the best drinks. So far my favorite is the balboa. They have such a good vibe! Outside seating as well as indoor, pet friendly too.

I used to be a member of Henebery in 2019. Unfortunately in 2019 my mother was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer and due to helping her with all of her medical appointments I did not have free time to come into Henebery anymore. Thankfully the staff was nice enough to freeze my account so I would not incur more charges. At the time I froze my account I was informed that I had 2 bottles on hold (from prior membership renewals) and could pick them up whenever. 2 years later my mother passed away and when going through old emails, I realized I had never picked up my bottles. I contacted Henebery and was assisted by Jesse and Jorge. Even though the employee who helped freeze my account no longer worked there, Jorge honored the 2 bottles that were on hold and let me come in to pick them up. I was very pleased with the customer service and happy they let me get the two bottles of whiskey after so much time had passed. I would highly recommend this place based on how they take care of their customers. Thanks again to Jesse and Jorge.

Had the pleasure of visiting Henebery Spirits on Sat 11/4/23. Wow great place for a party drinks off the charts. Perfect venue.

Groupon find - my fiancée bought me a 4 personal tour + tasting. It was a bit difficult to use and schedule but was able to make it work. The tour itself was very short and learned very little. The tour was led by a very nice and welcoming bartender but unfortunately did not have very much insight on the whiskey process. The whiskey was tastings were good. All made in-house. We got to sample 4. Small pours but enough to sit on for a tiny bit. Cool tasting room to relax, hangout, play board games and they even have a tv go watch games on. Bottle prices were a little high. They have a quarterly club you can join which is kinda cool but ranges from $50-$75ish... I would consider joining at a discount to this.

Sometimes it can be hard for me to write a review and this is one of those times. It took me a while of thinking about it and I decided to go ahead and post an honest review even if it gets me some backlash. I have been to Henebery numerous times. One of my friends is a regular there so I have been her guest many times and I have also attended events here multiple times. I love the drinks and the facility and I think the bartender Tina is amazing. My friend gifted me a temporary membership and I finally got my husband to visit with me so he could see if he wanted us to actually get the full membership. Unfortunately this visit did not go well. This was my first time visiting without my friend so I was not given the service I had experienced in the past. The bartender working was very unhelpful and not friendly in the least. There was also another customer that I believe might have been an off the clock employee, or en ex-employee, or at the least a very regular customer that was super rude to us. I in no way expect Henebery to be responsible for their customers but if this was an employee that is not cool. Either way, the bartender should have many tried a little harder to be nice to us since he was clearly seeing the other person being rude. It just felt very unwelcome and that we shouldn't be there since we weren't regulars. Overall, I still like Henebery and that is why I am giving them an average review of three stars. I just feel like they need to be careful about how they treat non-members and/or new members. You can't grow your business if you turn off prospective members by being unwelcoming to them. Hopefully this was just a bad one off situation but due to the very bad vibe we were given by the bartender and the other person we decided not to join.

This place is dangerous. The whiskey is way too smooth. & it's way too close to way too many breweries. I mean, beer before liquor never been sicker, right? C'mon, everyone knows that. Seriously, though, Henebery is making some damn fine whiskey that's fabulous neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails. & the staff was very friendly & knowledgeable. This place may be dangerous, but it's worth the risk.

Henebery choose an interesting location to open up a distillery surrounded by so many breweries. I have a feeling this will work in their favor since there isn't anything else around to compete with! Everyone coming to drink at the local breweries will end up having to stop by and taste some whisky! Going to their soft opening was pretty awesome! They give you a nice tour and explain how Henebery started and how they distill whisky! It is a pretty cool process to hear all the details of what it takes to make whisky! After the tour you get to try their whisky with various cocktails! They have a barrel aged Old Fashion that is to die for! It is like sweet nectar on the lips! It has a fine balance of the bitters, citrus taste, and the sweetness of the barrel aged. My wife isn't a fan of old fashions and she couldn't stop drinking hers! They also have a barrel aged Mint Merlot Julep that taste like candy! Get it neat instead of on ice and it almost is like drinking a fine Cognac! Their celebrated rye whisky is not your typical rye. Since it is infused with spices it isn't as spicy as a typical rye. It has a nice notes of vanilla and citrus in it! You can drink it neat or on ice and will enjoy it! The owners Jesse and David seem extremely passionate about their brand and it comes through as they talk about Henebery! They did an awesome job educating everyone about their brand, whisky, and what they have in store in the future! I will for sure come back to drink here again! I am looking forward to their future barrel aged cocktails and small batches that they will be producing in the coming months!

The whiskey is amazing! The staff is amazing! The place is amazing! The only downfall..... we live 10 hours away. Our friends are members here. We have had this whiskey with our friends many times, but never checked the place out. So to our excitement, we happened to be in town when they were having an event. Our friends invited us to come with them. Of course we said yes!! We show up, and our bar tender Tina greeted us, she was the perfect mixture of fun and professional! She explained the event, showed us to a table, and started slinging whiskey. Round after round of unique whiskey drinks came!! Each better then the last! All the staff we encountered were amazing!! Chatting with the owner, you can feel his passion for the craft!! We can't wait to come back!

Great whiskey, staff, and environment! However, it's only semi-open to the public and more of a members only+ people that they bring with them venue.

They built a really nice tasting room and have an excellent line up of mixed drinks. San Diego local is one tasty drink. Great experience here! Such a cool place to hold an event! Tons of space to work with and amazing bartenders!

Cool environment, family owned, and an incredible product. It is currently my favorite whiskey. I can drink it neat or on the rocks anytime. The craft cocktails here are incredible too if you aren't a straight up whiskey drinker. I go with my cousin every couple weeks and she has loved every single cocktail and she hates whiskey on its own. The staff knows what they are doing and are super friendly. They will even taylor whatever drink want to exactly how you want it. The Local is a definite favorite. Be careful with the Reaper drink. It has the hottest peppers consumable by man. I'll probably skip that one next time. Seriously though, check it out. Become a member. I did!

Interesting distillery. We did a tour and tasting after buying on Groupon. I found the tour informative. The whiskey tasting is good, but found the immediate introduction to the "membership" a little bit of a turnoff. Tell me about your distillery, show it to me let me taste the product then introduce the membership. Also at the conclusion of the tour we were told we couldn't get a cocktail unless we were members. Very unwelcoming in my opinion. Won't be back!

I almost didn't want to rate it because I want to selfishly keep this place a secret. Our group did the groupon for the tour and the tasting. Being a whiskey guy I had a 100 questions but the main distiller wasn't there to answer them. Still pretty cool none-the-less. On to the tastings... The bar manager Tina is amazing. You can tell when someone is just a bar tender or if they genuinely care about the experience. She cares. A lot. So much that she makes a lot of the syrups and bitters personally. When someone puts that much personal effort into the drinks you know they are going to be good, and she didn't disappoint. The rye itself is very good/smooth even though they have only been aged two years. Small barrels, so that's awesome. I left there with a couple different bottles, including their pre-made, 80 proof Old Fashioned. Already half gone... I was sold on the membership and can't wait to return for some rye neat, or a few mixed drinks. Hidden gem.

The energy of this place is rad. Its rich in history and the whole staff is warm and professional. Its a great place to frequent on the weekends, they have a safe outdoor set up with bomb food and live music on Saturdays. Also, the whiskey and cocktails are smooth and delicious.

This whiskey is smooooth! It's delicious and it's found its home in the middle of an industrial complex in Vista. It's a small spot with a tasting room and a distillery in the back. They offer a few membership options, which I hopped right on because it's a great deal. It's $50/quarter, which gives you a bottle of their whiskey and a cocktail from their tasting room along with some other member benefits. The tasting room is open from 6-? and is for members only! It's small, but I can't wait to go back and try it out. I tried their strawberry mule (which they always have on tap) and it was so refreshing and surprisingly light. The owner was very informative and you could tell he was really into the product. It's a really pure product making the after effects almost non-existent! If you like whiskey, this is a must try!

The whiskey is so smooth and almost refreshing. My hubby loved it! We are now members of the whiskey club and can't wait to go back! Luckily for us, we camp at local beaches so it's so wonderful to visit the area! See you in November!!

Love this find in vista business park. They are always so kind and accommodating and have some of the best whiskey drinks I've had. After so many months without live music it's a real treat to be able to enjoy it here while safe and socially distanced. Robs BBQ is here often which is another treat!

The Walter White of Whiskey. The Heisenberg of Henebery. These might be fair ways to describe Henebery co-founder Jesse Fanning. His team's product "...kicks like a mule with its balls wrapped in duct tape!"!!! Filtering out the acetones--nail polish remover--and methanols--make you go blind--to levels simply unachievable in commercial grade ryes given the amount of automation in their processes, Henebery accomplishes something very unique and rather remarkable in terms of not only its taste but also its aftereffects. As a fellow chemist put it: "I can guarantee you a purity of ninety-six percent. I'm proud of that figure. However, that other product (Henebery) is ninety-nine. Maybe even a touch beyond that... that last three percent... it might not sound like a lot... but it is, it's tremendous. It's a tremendous gulf." Thanks to that lack of impurities, 3 mules and a decent sized sip of 150+ proof white whiskey later I had no HANGOVER. Thanks Henebery. Thank you Jesse. So glad to have the opportunity to join the Henebery community as a Celebrated Citizen. They are "A time bomb, tick, tick, ticking." And I have every "intention of being around for the boom."

Such a cool spot!! I'm not a huge fan of drinking whiskey neat but I enjoy Henebery! The tasting room has a nice relaxing vibe, the owners and staff are so nice and welcoming and it's a great spot for a drink. They make an amazing Old Fashion and I also love their Mint Julep! While you're there they will give you a tour, tell you the history and you get to learn how whiskey is made! Sign up for their membership club online!

Easily my favorite distillery in San Diego. Aside from their cocktails, their rye is probably my favorite... although the Salted Carmel Whiskey is a must taste. Staff and bartenders are always super friendly. When tours are available again sign up for it if you have the time!

Great spot for a whiskey drink. You can only get one drink because of California law which I had no clue was a thing. The bartenders(mixologist) not sure which is correct were very helpful in recommending a drink that would be enjoyable. It's a cool spot definitely will go back during their open to the public hours which are limited.

I've frequented a number of local breweries, but when I heard that there was a local distillery in the area, I had to check it out. The people are great, very friendly and knowledgable about whiskey and their different drink recipes. They have events pretty regularly for different holidays, and even have other distilleries in for events to learn about other types of alcohol. The best part is that the whiskey is great!

I met Jesse at Regal Seagull and invited us to henebery so happy he did joined the first time we were here what a knowledgeable group of people and amazing cocktails so happy to have been introduced to this spirited place
