Had lunch here recently. Ordered a quarter duck and added on a tau kwa and an egg. Duck gravy was savoury enough. However, duck meat given was quite little and didn't seem like it was truly a quarter of a duck. Duck meat was moderately tender but a little dry. Underneath the layer of duck breast was all cucumbers. Cucumbers were, unfortunately, not very fresh. Overall, an average duck rice meal. That said, the stall commands long lines of office workers during lunch.

A very tasty braised duck, teochew style. Tried the duck rice with braised tofu. Duck meat was flavorful and tender 😋😋. Rice was top up with braised gravy - this was very nice. Chilli sauce was a nice complement with duck meat and rice. Herbal soup was good. Next time I'll try with added pork or egg. Reasonable hawker price. Queue during peak hours. Definitely will revisit again.

Braised duck is superb, but a bit pricy. I like a soup they provide to each customer, it is good with rice and braised duck. We also ordered pork and egg, but I still prefer duck.

The hawker centre could really use a deep clean and improved ventilation. The food was decent, though given the hype, expectations were higher. The duck was tender, with a thick, well-balanced sauce that wasn’t overly salty. The rice was of good quality, nice and grainy. The accompanying soup was flavorful and not just plain, colored water.

Fabulous food, genuinely an insanely tasty duck and rice dish. Also came with a bowl of soup/broth which was DELICIOUS. The stall only takes cash but there is a cash machine about 1 min away from it. It was $8 Singaporean dollars for 2x duck and rice with the broth. That's about £4.50 GBP. Cannot recommend enough, insanely good especially for the price, I've paid so much more for such worse food 😫 it's so good. And the staff were super friendly and helpful. 5***** for everything. Also came with a chilli sauce which I can safely say was one of the best chilli sauces I've ever tried. Perfect combination of heat and tasty-ness!!

The duck is braised to perfection, and the gravy pairs well with the rice, very old-school flavor. It's so yummy that I even dabao some duck wings home👍

Google
Highly recommend this delicious duck rice The braised taste is very rich and tasty and make the duck very nice. Too bad drumstick sold out so left breast n rear. Note prices abit high as it cost $6-7 for rear/drum Somehow when paired with cilantro is eve bc more delicious though I usually do this I also like the soup with herbal flavorful taste Chilli is ok but not wow

Having been underwhelmed by the Bukit Panjang branch, I decided to give OG another chance. Despite the lunch crowd, the queue moved swiftly. I went for the standard duck rice set and added pork for a total of $6. The price tag seems reasonable considering current inflation, but the portion size left me wanting more, especially on a particularly hungry day. The braised egg and tofu, which could have made the meal more filling, were unfortunately sold out. While the duck meat was decent, lacking any unpleasant gamey smell, it wasn't as tender as I had hoped. The herbal soup also tastes quite flat. The chili sauce, too, was too acidic for my taste. Perhaps I visited on a bad day but it is unlikely I will revisit them again.

Yelp
I should periodically revisit this review. Today's duck rice set was very good, $3.50, better value for money than getting the $15+ duck. Still a queue, but it moves fast. The duck is still tender, its skin fat still meltingly flavourful.

Yelp
During my visit to Tekka Market, I noticed a long line for Heng Gi, so I jumped in as well. Basically, all they serve is duck and rice, so guess what? I got duck and rice. For 3.50 SGD, you get a plate of duck, rice with sauce, and a bowl of duck soup. The duck was very tender, and the soup had good flavor as well. For the price, it is hard to beat.

Yelp
Just writing this review make me drool - that's how good the duck at Heng Gi is. My dad used to do takeaways when the stall was still at Hill Street Hawker Centre so this is pretty much my benchmark of how duck should be. The dark sauce in which the duck is simmered in is always slightly on the saltier side but I am not one to complain about that. What I like best about Heng Gi is that the meat is always tender and tasty - I usually avoid having duck because most stalls aren't good at getting this right. Here, the duck is served up with soft beancurd and braised eggs, topped with sprigs of coriander and a bowl of steaming white rice - probably in the running for the last meal I would want to have. Oh! Not to forget the chilli because I think that is what seals the deal for this stall. Smashed chilli with garlic mixed with vinegar acts as the perfect dip for the fragrant salty duck meat. Sells out in a blink of an eye so make sure you get there before 2pm!

Yelp
Sorry not sure what the fuss about this stall. Meat is mostly dry but strangely they got followers. Ordered a plate with meat, egg, tofu and liver. Que was mostly quick to clear. Total cost with 3 rice came to 16.50. Cheap and can't complaint but certainly not a cut above the rest more like the norm. Think this lose out to the once almighty Buana Vista duck rice which is now passed to the brother in law and is located at at odd place and does not taste as good. Sadly all these skills will be gone.
