LA’s Best Dining Neighborhoods of 2023 | Eater LA

"I found Heng Heng Chicken Rice—in deep Hawthorne and also referenced as a regular stop in Thai Town—to be a cool, lesser-known spot that became a regular stop for me this year." - Eater Staff

Google
Their Hainan chicken is good. The rice is pairs well with the sauces. If you're a fan of Hainan chicken, this place is a good to try. However, I noticed that after a customer left, a server poured a small amount of leftover drinking water from the customer's glass onto the table and used it to wipe the table. I felt this was not very sanitary and is something that should be improved.

Google
The Hainan Chicken here is so good. Traditional Chinese recipe mixed with South Asian (Thai) sauce tastes incredible. A side dish has extra Thai pepper and ginger grounded. Restaurant is a bit hot though, nothing can beat the food. And the price is so nice. A small dish (not really small, actually is so enough for my dinner), a big surprise! Don't miss it!

Google
Fried Chicken & Fried Pork is the best I've had in LA. Ordered online for pick-up and food is ready by the time we arrived. It also comes with a soup and sauce that compliments the fried chicken & pork.

Becky T.

Google
The best Hainanese chicken rice in LA! It's always perfect. Got the 1/2 crispy pork and 1/2 dark meat with chow mein. I think their food pairs best with rice (specifically the garlic rice) but I was craving noodles today. Their sauces are super delicious and always bright, with the perfect amount of heat. I can't recommend this place enough!

Google
Favorite hainanese chicken spot in the South Bay. Came with broth, fresh ginger and chili and a flavorful dipping sauce.

Google
All is very perfect . Portion also the texture of chicken is very good .the sauce is nice as well

Google
Nice little place! The food arrived quick and server was very sweet and catering. We ordered the 2 pork dishes (fried) and loved them. It was a little hot because they don’t have AC. However, we went after sundown so it was not a problem. Food had good portion size and they gave us complementary soup. ❤️ will be coming back to try other dishes.

Google
Welcome to the new location in the South Bay Area, extending from the first one near Thai Town in LA. This spot is perfect if you're craving Thai-style Hainan Chicken Rice. The chicken rice is incredibly flavorful, especially when paired with the garlic rice. The owner is exceptionally friendly and provides excellent recommendations. With a variety of sauces to choose from, my personal favorite is the sweet chili sauce. While the food is top-notch, I can't help but wish they were situated in a more vibrant area in the South Bay, surrounded by other restaurants. -1 star for atmosphere and location. Quick tips: Heng Heng Chicken Rice is located next to a liquid store, and they do not offer dine in option as of Nov 2023.

Yelp
A bit confusing here, as the restaurant has a student sign but I assure you you're in the right place. If you like hainan style chicken, either poached or fried, this is the spot to go. I had the fried pork and chicken plate over garlic rice she loved every bite of it. Food came out sick and hot and the individual was incredibly friendly and a delight to order from. There are a few places to sit inside or take away, you can't go wrong. Will be trying a noodle dish on my next trip.

Yelp
Parking: small lot shared with other businesses. Can get busy. Ambience: small, casual/fast casual--a lot of people popping in for pick-up orders Service: very hospitable Food: -half dark chicken/half crispy pork--very good. -half dark and white to-go. Standard, no complaints. -jumbo noodles with level 3 spice--biggest mistake of my life. The noodles were incredible but I was not aware that this place is Thai. A level 3 spice at a Thai restaurant is significantly hotter than a level 3 spice at a different restaurant. I survived but i was definitely sweating after a while. Note: don't forget to get all the sauces! They're all very good and essential to each dish! I'm definitely coming back here, but maybe I'll just get level 2 spice instead

Yelp
I drove 20 minutes to pick up the food and another 20 minutes, so of course the food was soggy when I got home. The restaurant is located in a very small shopping center and there was a lot of sketchy people hanging around - I was scared. I ordered the fried chicken with garlic noodles and the fried pork belly with garlic rice - the flavors were there, but the food was so soggy. The fried crispy chicken was not fried. This really wasn't a sizable order - disappointed since it looked nothing like the pictures from other Yelp reviews. The also gave me 2 soups but it was a chicken broth with a lot of green onions - very bland. Maybe next time I'll use Doordash and have a better experience.

Yelp
Ambiance: it's a small restaurant located in Hawthorne, packed plaza and good for takeout orders Service: very fast, served water and food promptly Food: simple menu and good combination for proteins Half & Half Over Rice - **** Choice of Garlic Rice, Steamed Dark Meat and Crispy Pork Belly, tasty with sauces, recommend Thai Style Hainan Chicken Sauce - *** Made of garlic, chili, ginger, and soy bean paste, sweet and sour taste, spicy taste Good for Crispy Pork Belly - **** Made of dried chili, lime juice, and fish sauce, recommend Price: large portions and reasonable prices, expect $20 per person for a hearty meal

Yelp
I first tried the zaab crispy chicken at head in the clouds and instantly feel in love! The store is a hole in the wall place, but the flavors here are immaculate. Just the right balance of spicy and zingy and honestly just very flavorful! Since we were the only ones inside, our food came out fairly quick and everything tasted very fresh!
google avatar

Yelp
I gotta say, I was looking forward to this place after reading the menu, but im honestly very disappointed. All of my food has little to no flavor. I ordered the zaab chicken and the flavor was pretty weak. The chicken wings had zero flavor. The sweet and sour sauce it came with was okay. Nothing special, but it made the wings edible. The chicken was cooked well and was juicy, but there was not much going on with both dishes. The garlic rice was fine, but I will say, the broth they gave me had great flavor. It was the only thing in the bag that had any flavor. I come back for just a cup of their broth. That alone is why I went with a 3 star and not a 2 star. Just stick with Taishi Hainan Chicken in redondo tbh.

Yelp
Very small parking lot with a lot of spots reserved for laundry or 30 min only. Very small restaurant with limited tables and seating, but the service was exceptional and very friendly/attentive. I was going to order the Hainan chicken but the server asked if I wanted to do half and half, which I want even aware of. It was a great decision because everything was delicious. My friend got the zaan crispy pork over rice, which was also very good. Overall, a great restaurant!

Yelp
Tried this on a whim after seeing a post showing the food from the Hollywood location and it was legit VERY good. We ordered the hainan chicken ($13.50) and Zaab crispy over rice ($14.50) - did a mix of pork and chicken for the latter. The food was super flavorful and just packed a punch. Really did not skimp on the portions - we basically took home a whole dish because it was so much food. The dishes came with chicken soup. The shop is pretty small - just 3 tables (and they do dine-in, despite the sign outside still saying to-go only). The service was especially good - she was suuuuuper nice and always kept an eye out if we needed anything. Just one of those experiences where you are very happy to have found a new place!

Yelp
Delicious food! Great lunch spot. Will definitely be there again soon. Noodles were on point.

Yelp
Discovered this family restaurant by chance, but glad i did. The area looks a little run down but the food makes up for it forsure. The chicken broth and rice was flavorful while the crispy pork was crispy and delicious. It was definitely the star of the show! It was the best crispy pork belly i have ever tried, so good that i thought i was eating jowl. The chicken was a lil dry but i got white meat so next time i will get dark. All of their sauces pair well together and can't be skipped. Show this family restaurant some love if you are ever in the area and craving some rice dishes!

Yelp
Extremely basic, no-frills place for what is a generous and tasty portion of Hainanese chicken rice. The chicken itself could be a tad more moist, but service is quick, the broth they give you is hot and delicious, and the vibe-- pure ordinary strip mall-- somehow seems oddly appropriate. If I lived closer I would come here regularly as the food is good and the value game is strong, but sadly they are a bit of a haul for me.

Yelp
The service here is great. Very friendly and patient. They also went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our food such as their delicious sauces. They kindly accommodated us sitting in and eating with no problem. They even gave us fresh sauce to take home, we had a little leftover because the portions are great! I got full off of my Hainan chicken and I'm picky about portion size. I recommend getting their half and half option. Their fried fare is especially good , if you want crispy fried chicken you can't go wrong. They also have wonderful soups and stir fries. The ambiance is cozy and quaint making you feel at home for a great casual meal. The food tasted really good, it's a very reasonable price , and the service is excellent. I recommend you try this place!

Yelp
Heng Heng serves great steamed chicken: one of the best I've tried so far in OC. Our group ordered two half-and-half dishes, which included steamed white meat chicken and crispy pork. With our order, we got a complimentary Thai tea, which was delicious. The chicken was very flavorful and juicy, and the Thai-style chili sauce that accompanied it was a nice, tangy/spicy match. The rice was also done nicely, with rich chicken and ginger flavors coming through. However, my experience with the crispy pork was mixed. On my plate, the pork was dry and overcooked, making it tough to eat, even though the breading was well done. In contrast, my friend's plate had the pork cooked perfectly- very tender, with the right amount of fattiness and freshness. You could really see the difference between the two plates in the photos I took. Aside from that, the service was very good. The staff were knowledgeable, helped us find the right sauces, and were incredibly friendly. The shop itself is small with just a few tables, which added to its charm in my opinion. Overall, I'd definitely come back for the chicken, but I hope next time the pork is more consistent.

Yelp
I enjoyed my food at this restaurant. I ordered the half and half combo Hainan chicken and crispy pork belly. It was tasty. I really liked they're sauces very yummy flavorful. The spring rolls where ok.

Yelp
Heng Heng is my thang thang. Family owned shop and everyone is super nice. Ordered Hainan chicken over garlic rice, fried chicken over garlic rice, and fried pork over garlic rice. I don't know if they're running a special only on 2/24/25 or the whole week but they let me get a free order of fried wonton skins and a new menu item (forgot what it was called). Everything was good and I love all the sauces it came with but my favorite was the Hainan chicken. It looks like they just bought or brought a bunch of random chairs and tables, but it works out for seating.
google avatar

Yelp
They now serve noodles soup and some more popular thai dishes like pad thai & pad see ew. We tried the jumbo noodles soup and they were not exaggerating when they call it jumbo!! We were too excited about the food and forgot to take a photo which is always a good sign. The food is consistently delicious and the staffs are super friendly. Highly highly recommend!!

Yelp
My family and I love love love everything we ordered (see attached receipts.) We will be back when we were around town.

Yelp
Hooray! A closer, great chicken rice! Sorry, the slightly further and only ok Taishi! Online ordering on their website is the same price as the paper menu. Pick up was fast, friendly and easy. They're running a promotion right now where you get a free $6 Thai iced tea with two entrees or two teas with three entrees. Everything was delicious! I love chicken rice and it's more common to see hainanese than khao man gai in LA, and really, pretty rare to see either in the south bay. Dark meat for the win! Get that half and half and add a bonus side to try all the meats. The crispy pork and fried chicken are both amazing. Broth was light and flavorful, perfect to balance out all the funky sauces. Zaab fish was a delight and maybe my favorite dish of them all.
google avatar

Vincent T.

Yelp
Amazing food for an amazing price. I come here often and order the Dark Meat Hainan Chicken along with the Crispy Pork, both with garlic rice. They also give a cup of soup along with your order! Great service and there are some dine in seats as well.
google avatar

Christianne T.

Yelp
I think I may have found my new favorite place to get chicken rice. The food is very tasty and they give a lot of portion as well so the prices are reasonable. Parking is limited and tight but this place is meant for takeout orders mostly. The place is small and there are a few tables for dine in. When I called in an order, it was ready when I got there. The staff were very friendly and even gave me another free chicken rice. I am very satisfied with the food and the service. I will be back!
google avatar

Mira M.

Yelp
OMG this place is SO DAMN GOOD! My friend and I ate here for lunch. It's kind of a small hole in the wall as there were only 3 tables for indoor seating. But seriously, the zaab chicken and pork (and garlic rice) with side of broth and pad sa ew with crispy noodles was so damn delicious!!! Hit all the spots - sweet, sour, salty, crispy... Can't wait to eat here again. Would love if they operated a third restaurant in Long Beach, hint hint... it'll be a hit there.
google avatar

Yelp
The best Hainan chicken rice in the area! This is Thai style, so a little bit different than the Chinese style in terms of dipping sauce. They have a terrific housemade tangy sauce for their chicken. You can get their poached style (dark or white - I recommend dark) or get it fried. Or you can do half and half! Don't overlook the crispy pork zaab - another standout item. I would skip their garlic noodles ($2 upcharge) - their default garlic rice is so freaking good. This is truly a hole-in-a-wall. There are about 3 tables (~4 top) and minimal service. You get a menu, order at the cashier, and pay upfront. No public restrooms. Takes credit card. They have a posted promo on their door right now: - Order 2 entrees, get a free Thai tea - Order 3 entrees, get 1 free (free entrees include only Hainan chicken rice, fried chicken rice, or crispy pork rice) I don't know if they offer the promo via takeout/online ordering. I dined in and inquired about the promo. This is definitely a take-out kinda place, not much for ambiance. Parking: small lot in a strip mall

Yelp
Super awesome find, a rare gem!!! This is my return visit, not sure how I found out about it, but I come her when I'm in the area and want something different. It's a small place, mostly take out because the eating area is super small. But the service is friendly and the food prepared on time. But the food is awesome, I always get the combo, this time Steamed Dark Meat and Crispy Pork Belly, my son got the Fried Chicken. The meat was fully cooked and delicious. The pork belly and fried chicken were not greasy and they provide several sauces, a super spicy, a moderately spicy and a sweet and spicy sauce (my descriptors). We also got it with the Garlic Rice, tasty and delicious! I'm trying the Garlic Noodles as an option next time!!! Not sure if this is just because I'm a repeat customer, but they always give me a free treat, the last time was a Thai Tea, refreshing and not too sweet. Coming back to try something new soon!!!
google avatar

Yelp
I wanted to try this place for awhile, so I decided to go there today! I ordered the dark meat hainan chicken w/garlic rice and it came with the soup! The garlic rice, soup and the sauce were good, the chicken was a little dry! Although it was a good portion! The lady didn't seem to be too friendly! Not sure if I will go back again!
google avatar

Emily T.

Yelp
My family got takeout from here and the food was really good! I ordered the steamed white chicken meat with rice and it was very flavorful with delicious sauces! If I lived in the area, I would frequent this spot often!

Ross W.

Yelp
We arrived at the restaurant a few minutes after opening on a Sunday, and we already missed the first round, so we waited 1/2 hour to be seated. Also be ready to feel like you're in Bangkok because it was warm. Either they didn't have AC or they did not turn it on. Onto the food, we tried the Hainan Chicken, Fried Chicken, Veggie Spring Rolls & Fried Shrimp Wonton. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside & moist inside. My favorite part of the meal is the special sauce for the chicken. Each table has a big tub of sauce so you can lather the chicken to your heart's desire. Plus you can add as much ginger as you want. I recommend the garlic noodles, They are as garlicky as, if not more than, the Vietnamese counterpart. You can also choose garlic rice instead of white rice. The food overall is quite good. As a bonus, soup is complimentary, and you can have as much as you want. Service is decent. The restaurant shares a parking lot with the adjacent motel.

Yelp
Jumbo Noodles Best Hainan Chicken in SouthBay area. Nice staff and attentive. Eat and go, limited seats.

Yelp
There aren't many Asian chicken rice shops in this area so super happy this has opened! The flavors are really good and we tried two versions of the chicken rice - both were not dry at all and the sauces paired with the dish is so yummy. Honestly, would come back to get a bottle of the sauces if it was available. It's important to note though that the parking lot for this location is really small and they often run out of items in the early afternoon so if you have specific items in mind, best to come earlier. When we went, the restrooms had a sign that it wasn't approved by the health department. Not sure if that has changed since then.

Yelp
I was so happy to discover this place with hainan chicken that always hits the spot. Hainan chicken is just a classic Asian dish that sometimes I crave, but not a lot of places do it justice. Happy to say Heng Heng's hainan chicken is fantastic and they even have other delicious fried meats as well! The storefront is pretty small with 3 tables for 2-4 people each. It seems like they probably do a lot of takeout. Definitely call in if you are wanting to takeout. I've done takeout a couple times, but just ate in for the first time yesterday. I came with a group of 5 and ordered 6 dishes. It was way too much food, but they have a buy 3 get 1 free deal on main menu items and I wanted to try a bunch of different things. Food: - Dry egg noodles with crispy pork belly - This is my absolute favorite dish from Heng Heng now! I really like the garlic rice, but the thin dry noodles were so flavorful and went well with the crispy pork belly. The pork belly is my favorite meat from them, but only by a little over the hainan chicken. - Poached chicken with garlic rice - A classic dish that you definitely should try! Dark meat chicken is juicy and moist. The have a couple different sauces you can eat with the chicken to give it a kick or some sweetness. - Crispy chicken - good but not as good as the crispy pork belly! - Zaab crispy fish with garlic rice - the crispy fish had a different lighter breading than the chicken or pork belly. It was more like a salt and pepper fish fry batter. My partner liked the dish a lot, the roasted rice powder gives it a nice deep flavor and the onions/lime/cilantro are a nice twist. - Garlic noodles - not as good as the dry egg noodles, but better if you like thicker noodles The serve soup with all the dishes and its a nice side to go with the different meats, rice, and noodles. You can get refills if you eat in! The staff was really friendly and nice. They even gave us an extra thai tea on the holiday! Overall, highly recommend Heng Heng Chicken Rice. They do the classics right, but also have some additional dishes you should try. Definitely try the poached chicken and crispy pork belly!

Yelp
Delicious food!!!! It's the type of food you crave AND the type you think you might not want at the time & then you can't stop eating it once you started. It's addicting & is for ppl who love their food seasoned. Not the best place to eat at the store, but perfect for take out. Sometimes it takes a while for the food to be ready depending on when you go, so it's safer to order via phone. SO MANY FLAVORS, SO MANY THINGS YOU WANNA TRY. Lemme tell you, I've tried a lot of their menu items & almost all of them will not disappoint. Our favorite is the hainan chicken (dark meat but white is ok too) & the zaab crispy pork. Regular rice, garlic noodles, or garlic rice EVERYTHING IS GOOD. If you can't decide, just get it all. Also, you NEED to always make sure to get ALL the types of sauces they have, so you can explore different seasonings when you get tired of the next one. They complete each other. Additionally, I love that they include the wonton soup broth w/ the orders, so you can cleanse the palette & extra love that they usually have a special promo going on. You just have to check w/ them or order for takeout there to find out. They are generous w/ the portions & you will be craving their food again sometime soon. So glad I found this place!! 10/10 chef's kiss

Yelp
Now THIS is exactly what the South Bay needs! Fried Chicken Rice, just golden chunks of the good stuff over a big bed of garlic rice. The meats are great, but I could just eat that rice all day. The regular Hainan Chicken Rice is among the best I've had. I barely tolerate blanched chicken, but their chicken still has flavor and I would absolutely get it again. Crispy Pork is an alternative to chicken, but I do think the chicken is better. The garlic noodle is great if you're into noodles, but I still prefer their rice. CALL AHEAD. They have 3 tables and your fried food is fresh so it's quite a wait with no seating if you're just going for a pick-up. It's staffed by a crew of sweet, hard-working people slinging some pretty fantastic chicken. The prices are good for quite a lot of fantastic food.
google avatar

Janet L.

Yelp
This is a smaller like a satellite location if the one in Hollywood. They don't have the full menu like the one in Hollywood. But it is still delicious and I don't have to drive out that way when I am craving their crispy pork with garlic noodles. They have 3 tables and that's it. It's really for take out. Staff are happy to see you all the time. At the current time of this review, buy 3 meals, get one free. Definitely my go to when I want crispy pork and garlic noodles.

Yelp
Heng Heng Chicken Rice has opened up in Hawthorne, California! This is the second location of Heng Heng with the first location on Hollywood Blvd in LA. Currently this location is takeout only and they are having a soft opening. As part of the soft opening they are having a special promotion of buy one, get one. There are a few things to note regarding the buy one get one promo: It only applies to the same dish. You cannot mix and match. If you buy one dish; you'll get one free of the exact same dish. The other thing I wanted to note is that with the buy one get one; you will get one large dish and one smaller dish. This one slightly surprised me when I saw a larger container for my chicken order and for my free one a smaller size container. It's really buy 1 and get one smaller dish. I chose to get the Half and half ala carte with fried chicken and Hainan chicken ($18) and a side of their garlic rice ($5). Overall I thought the flavors were delicious. The chicken was tender and loved it paired with the garlic rice. It also comes with a complementary chicken broth soup which I enjoyed. I also recommend getting the side ginger sauce and side sweet and sour sauce. They are great dipping sauces. I enjoyed both the fried chicken and Hainan chicken. The only one thing I didn't like was the few pieces of Hainan chicken where the skin was left one as well as few pieces of the fried chicken that were overcooked. Nevertheless the chicken flavors were great and I was pretty full and happy post meal!
google avatar

Hao W.

Yelp
I was craving for Hainan chicken and saw how they offer a variety of other stuff and not just chicken. I ordered the dark meat hainan chicken and the crispy pork belly over the phone. Took about 10 minutes from phone order to ready for pick up. Each order includes a soda. The food smelled SO good during the drive back. Finally took my first bite and wow the crispy pork belly with that sweet and sour sauce just made this restaurant on my rotation. The dark meat haninan chicken was good too, but the crispy pork belly was a clear winner. This place is to go only. Parking is a bit sketch!

Ivy P.

Yelp
As soon as I walked in the lady with purple didn't acknowledge me it took her awhile to approach me at the table. I asked her about a substitution on the food and she gave an attitude. Then I told her if they can't do it, it's fine I can order something else she was still giving an attitude. At that point I wanted to walk out. In the kitchen it sounded like she was complaining to the kitchen about the order. She was yelling in the kitchen. Honestly I don't know why this place would be open if they don't want people dining here. Just stay home if you don't want customers. If you wanna feel unwelcome don't come here. Btw they don't let you use the restroom. lol

Yelp
All the hype behind Heng Heng is 100% well deserved!! Their chicken rice is excellent- and trust, I've eaten at most of the popular Hainan places! I usually won't touch the fried chicken but the fried here is honestly the best I've had! I had it delivered and it still remained crispy! I'm so glad I finally gave this spot a try and now that I know that I can avoid the drive and they can Postmate it to me, I'll need extra gym runs to work off the carbs!!

Yelp
This Thai style Hainanese chicken and rice. The chicken and rice are very good. The difference is more in the condiments. Minced fingers with green chile, and two other sauces that are not what one expects with traditional Hainanese chicken and rice but equally complimentary. Both are darker with one having more roasted chile profile and the other even more unique with what seems to be a lime juice base with maybe some fish sauce, soy sauce, dark chile and herbs. They also have katsu style chicken and pork, which were also well prepared. We didn't try the roast pork. You can order the chicken or pork dishes a la carte or with the traditional chicken stock infused rice, steam rice or garlic noodles. While there are some tables, consider take out as it's very basic. The server behind the counter is traditionally sweet and kind that one always gets in the Thai tradition.

Mary R.

Yelp
New location, replaced a vegan place. Came first the pork belly and it was sublime! Never thought anything could outdo chashu pork, but this crispy-skinned pork belly rules supreme. Nothing is premade - cooked to order so don't be surprised to wait for a bit. The rice was flavorful and perfectly complemented the sliced pork belly and crispy chicken. Plan to return to try more menu items.

Yelp
Take-out first, dine-in available; cozy, casual spot but kinda lonely. location is not good because it's next to a liquor store. Includes an exhibition kitchen and fast, friendly staff. The is just cooked to perfection tender and moist. The fried chicken is so crispy on the outside with moist juice inside. The rice is so rich in flavor oily and addictive with sauce with cucumber on the side.

Yelp
Landed in LAX and this was much needed. Such a good meal like everything on the menu is good. Good and quick service. Very chill to eat there. A lot of my friends love this place cuz their chicken r so good and the rice is so tasty

Yelp
This is true asian comfort food!! Authentic/legit hainan chicken! The sauce that goes with it is real good too. It is sweet, vinegary, garlic, gingery, and tangy. The jasmine rice is fluffy & fragrant. The garlic rice is short grain and taste so good. Because this is my first time, I went simple. Honestly? Order the Hainan chicken with garlic rice. It is fragrant and not overpowering with garlic. It complements the chicken quite well. The garlic noodle is garlicky and noodles are tender; not mushy at all. If you're a fan of garlic noodle this place makes it right. The fried chicken & crispy fried pork are cutlets. (They look almost like katsu). The breading is battered, not panko. Good flavor and it's different from your typical katsu. The sauces that came with these 2 entrees were the thai sweet chili sauce and a dark sauce that has some hoisin in it. The orders came out fairly quickly. Girl at the counter was nice and read the order back first accuracy. It is not a sit down restaurant and is only set up for to go service only. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Overall great experience. Chicken had a lot of flavor and they offered several dipping sauces which paired well. Staff was pleasant and inviting

Yelp
It's Thai comfort food. They offer dishes I couldn't find in the area before. I would recommend the steamed chicken over rice. That's my staple food.

Yelp
Wow. This place is so rad. Cozy American style diner serving Thai comfort food. This was the first stateside restaurant I've been to that served food on par in flavor and spice as in Thailand. We had a late lunch with our very slow eating toddler and they didn't rush us at all. They were super accommodating and offered non-spicy versions of different sauces so she could have her own taste explorations. We'll be back!

Yelp
Went back to Heng Heng Chicken Rice and ordered some different items. It was so.so good. I ordered the shrimp Wanton Soup and the garlic noodles with crispy chicken. I have to say it was so so good. I love the way the soup ingredients were separated from the broth. It kept the chicken and vegetables fresh with every bite. The garlic noodles are probably my favorite. These noodles are 5 star restaurant worthy. You also get really big portions, which was perfect for me and my wife to share. The staff was super nice, of course. I will be back, and I'm adding this restaurant to my hot spots. This place is a HIDDEN GEM!!!
