The Best Irish Pubs in Los Angeles, According to Eater Editors | Eater LA

"Hennessey’s is a staple bar name for the South Bay and beyond. Eight locations stretch throughout the coastline from the beach cities to San Juan Capistrano. Founded in 1976, this collection of Irish pubs has a decent price for a pint with Irish sausage rolls, sliders topped with Irish cheddar, and some truly excellent Irish “nachos” served on potato planks with cheese, bacon, scallions, and sour cream." - Mona Holmes

Cool Irish bar vibes right in the heart of Riviera Village, but let’s be honest—I came for the $7.50 fresh-squeezed Greyhounds and stayed for Mikey behind the bar. That man knows his pour game. Charming, quick, and easy on the eyes—he had me ordering a second round before I even finished the first. If you’re looking for a laid-back spot with strong drinks, fun energy, and the kind of bartender that might just become your new bestie—this is it. I’ll definitely be back. (And Mikey, save me a seat at the bar. 😉)

Excellent breakfast!! EDIT: we gave 5 stars on first visit because staff and food were first class!! BUT we went back on second day and we've the following observation: 1. Had to go and find a wait staff after sitting on patio for quite some time; staff were busy chatting to each other 2. Food was cold when served 3. Gave feedback to manager who kindly discounted bill. So, in sum, inconsistent. We won't go back for third visit .

Came here for brunch, and it was the perfect time. Glad it was a little overcast so it wasnt sunny, and outside seating was perfect for the weather. I had the the mushroom swiss burger and it was delicious! The fries were the perfect crisp and complimented the burger well. Coffee was great, too (black)! Servers were attentive, bathroom was clean. Will come back to try the other dishes.

The $6 Bloody Mary is a great deal, especially with how decent their house mix is. Usually they just taste like shrimp less cocktail, but their spices and herbs are well balanced. The club left a lot to desire, the bread was kind of rubbery like they tried to toast it for 30 seconds on low heat, and very dry. It made it difficult to eat. The Irish nachos are good, just be ready for all the grease (cheese and bacon.)

Always the best vibes, best choice on a weekend, specially if they’re playing live music. Come and drink.

Reuben tasted like old oil, salad had too much dressing with old tomatoes, bisque has broken soup, chips also tasted like old oil. Had to get my own hot sauce, ran out of water for the rest of our meal.

Breakfast Gem! Scrambled eggs are light & fluffy, taste delicious; not drowning in butter or oil, they actually taste like eggs. Bacon ordered crisp, and was delivered as such. Husband's veggie omelette was also perfect, full of fresh veggies.

Seriously Amazed about a few things here. Went with a friend to try something new in Redondo. Walked in, no host to be seen. Went to the bar and they told us we can sit anywhere, which was nice. Our waitress approached us, and didn't even mention her name, didn't ask us how we were doing or even if we had been their before. She layed the menus down and her first words were if we wanted to start with a drink, we ordered our drinks and I couldn't figure out what to get at this location so I asked the waitress, when she had returned what they were famous for or what they specialized in. It had honestly seemed like a new question to her, as she hesitated a bit and told me what was good, but didn't seem at all sure of herself. Her attitude was a bit weird, she wasn't rude but just seemed like she was there to take our order and lay down the food. When the food had come she came by, placed it on out table and said "there you go" and immediately walked away. The order of fries was beyond "really greasy". They were so soggy due to all the grease. I had the chicken avocado sandwich which looked beautiful! but taking a bit nothing really had flavor to it which was bizarre. My friend had the Nachos which we understood had potatoes in place of classic tortilla chips. these too were extremely greasy, that the potatoes we thought would be at least cripsy but weren't. Overall the experience here sucked. Attached are photos of the grease on our food.
