The Best Irish Pubs in Los Angeles, According to Eater Editors | Eater LA

"Hennessey’s is a staple bar name for the South Bay and beyond. Eight locations stretch throughout the coastline from the beach cities to San Juan Capistrano. Founded in 1976, this collection of Irish pubs has a decent price for a pint with Irish sausage rolls, sliders topped with Irish cheddar, and some truly excellent Irish “nachos” served on potato planks with cheese, bacon, scallions, and sour cream." - Mona Holmes

This is a kick-ass Irish pub full of wonderful people and epic staff, amazing karaoke with singers who have real talent and bands that can play a diverse range of songs from Michael Jackson to rock to 90s to surfer. The damn chicken nachos are so good I could inhale them with a straw and is a huge portion. The bartenders here deserve raises and awards because they treat you like you're a superstar! They made my electric lemonade like it was from my home state and always made me feel like I was at the Cheers bar. The crowd is diverse as hell from surfers, skaters, businessmen, locals, out of towners, goth, cougars and more that anyone fits in with such positive vibes and fun. I have never seen such spectacular energy and joy! It's like a mental vacation to just BE HERE. The women's bathroom is so small that it's like being in an airplane, but you meet people in there while waiting and have a great convo laughing about it. They have a huge patio, too, so if you get hot from the crowd, you can go outside and chill out. The heart of the wild and the fun you seek, lies within this bar and you'll kick yourself if you don't come down now and imbibe of the epic food, awesome drinks and amazing musical talent. Get down here now! You know you wanna!

Wide range of all the adult beverages we all can appreciate if we so choose. Food menu proves I need to return another day when the kitchen is open. Friendly and helpful staff. Lively crowd. A lot of cool history to this fine establishment is the cherry on top. Thank you, Hennessey's for a great evening for this newbie to Cali! 🤩

Cool Irish bar vibes right in the heart of Riviera Village, but let’s be honest—I came for the $7.50 fresh-squeezed Greyhounds and stayed for Mikey behind the bar. That man knows his pour game. Charming, quick, and easy on the eyes—he had me ordering a second round before I even finished the first. If you’re looking for a laid-back spot with strong drinks, fun energy, and the kind of bartender that might just become your new bestie—this is it. I’ll definitely be back. (And Mikey, save me a seat at the bar. 😉)

Came here for brunch, and it was the perfect time. Glad it was a little overcast so it wasnt sunny, and outside seating was perfect for the weather. I had the the mushroom swiss burger and it was delicious! The fries were the perfect crisp and complimented the burger well. Coffee was great, too (black)! Servers were attentive, bathroom was clean. Will come back to try the other dishes.

Seriously Amazed about a few things here. Went with a friend to try something new in Redondo. Walked in, no host to be seen. Went to the bar and they told us we can sit anywhere, which was nice. Our waitress approached us, and didn't even mention her name, didn't ask us how we were doing or even if we had been their before. She layed the menus down and her first words were if we wanted to start with a drink, we ordered our drinks and I couldn't figure out what to get at this location so I asked the waitress, when she had returned what they were famous for or what they specialized in. It had honestly seemed like a new question to her, as she hesitated a bit and told me what was good, but didn't seem at all sure of herself. Her attitude was a bit weird, she wasn't rude but just seemed like she was there to take our order and lay down the food. When the food had come she came by, placed it on out table and said "there you go" and immediately walked away. The order of fries was beyond "really greasy". They were so soggy due to all the grease. I had the chicken avocado sandwich which looked beautiful! but taking a bit nothing really had flavor to it which was bizarre. My friend had the Nachos which we understood had potatoes in place of classic tortilla chips. these too were extremely greasy, that the potatoes we thought would be at least cripsy but weren't. Overall the experience here sucked. Attached are photos of the grease on our food.

The $6 Bloody Mary is a great deal, especially with how decent their house mix is. Usually they just taste like shrimp less cocktail, but their spices and herbs are well balanced. The club left a lot to desire, the bread was kind of rubbery like they tried to toast it for 30 seconds on low heat, and very dry. It made it difficult to eat. The Irish nachos are good, just be ready for all the grease (cheese and bacon.)

Came in on a quiet afternoon pre happy hour and was greeted by a very witty bartender by the name of Dan. Dan made me a great bloody and engaged me throughout. I returned the following week only to meet MOLLY 😁 another fun and personable bartender with quality adult beverage pouring skills and great specs. The cocktails here are stiff and at a great price considering the overpriced places around the Riv here in Redondo Beach. I haven't ate here yet but from what I have seen of others stuffing face around me the food quality looks fresh and people enjoy what they are consuming.... I know this because I generally ask if they are within shout range. I highly recommend you come in on a day shift and have a few cocktails with Dan or MOLLY 😁

We went in and was able to sit anywhere we liked. Liked the casual welcoming atmosphere there. We had breakfast and everything was very tasty there. Received great service there. Will be back!
