The 16 Best First Date Bars In London - London - The Infatuation

"Chic but comfortable, and cool but not trying too hard, Henny’s is a wine bar in Balham that exudes the kind of first date energy we’re all striving for. Pull up a stool, opposite the mirror, for a night fuelled by one of the wines of the week. Towards the back is a mustard booth that curves round the corner, where tucked-away dates order Yard Sale pizzas and bottles of something orange and hand-harvested. If you prefer a buzzy atmosphere, come after 8pm." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, sinead cranna

London’s New Bar Openings - London - The Infatuation

"Henny's, as in the owner’s grandfather who was partial to a glass of wine, not henny in the RuPaul’s Drag Race kind of way, has cosy countertop seating, by-the-glass wine options, and Yard Sale on hand to deliver pizza. This new Balham wine bar is ideal for catching up with your nearest and dearest henny—be it your fabulous mate or very chic grandad." - daisy meager, sinead cranna

Where To Go When Drinking Chilled Reds Is Your Whole Personality - London - The Infatuation

"“It’s really weird but I don’t get heartburn when I drink chilled reds” you say, on your fourth glass of chilled cabernet franc, while that pack of Rennie on your bedside table rolls its eyes. Excuses flourish at Henny’s, a Balham wine bar with mustard booths that will swallow you whole and a sincere understanding that sometimes you need to order in a Yard Sale pizza to keep your reflux myths afloat. Come after 8pm if you want as many locals as possible to hear your thoughts on chilled Loire lore." - heidi lauth beasley

The Bar Hit List: The Best New Bars In London - London - The Infatuation

"Chic but comfortable, and cool but not trying too hard, Henny’s is a wine bar in Balham that we want to drink in but also be. The walls are deliberately, artfully slap-dash plaster—not like yours where you’ve swatched five different variations of custard—and the bar is the kind of sea green that demands relaxation. Pull up a stool, opposite the art-deco mirror, for a civilised post-work catch-up fuelled by one of the wines of the week. Towards the back is a mustard booth that curves round the corner, where larger groups order Yard Sale pizzas and tucked-away dates try bottles of something orange and hand-harvested. If you prefer a buzzy atmosphere come after 8pm, although we rate Henny’s for quiet solo drinks too. " - Heidi Lauth Beasley, Daisy Meager, Sinead Cranna

In the day henny’s is the perfect co-working space. In the evening it’s a 10/10 date spot, great wine, perfect atmosphere, lovely staff. We also host our bookclub here!… and such a cool website!

A wine bar in Balham that functions as a coffee shop/ workspace during the day. The shop is gorgeous, service is friendly and the coffee was great!! Prices are also very reasonable.

Great little wine bar! Luckily we got there quite early in the evening so were able to get a table (as it’s mainly walk in only). The serve a small selection of wines (3/4 of each colour). The red wines we sampled were okay, not the best I’ve had, but decent enough. You’re able to order Yards Pizza if you’re hungry and their pizza is amazing! The atmosphere is great and the service also amazing. Fay was lovely, warm and bubbly. They’re also dog friendly!

I held an event at Henny’s on Sunday and could not speak more highly of the venue! The team all went above and beyond both in the lead up to the event, and on the day to ensure everything ran smoothly. The guests all had a wonderful time and kept commenting on how amazing the venue and staff were. A special shoutout to Jacob, Fay and Vas for being so amazing and taking care of everything we needed! Will definitely be back here again.

Henny’s kindly hosted 25 of us and we all had the most amazing evening. We had a selection of red, rosé and white wines and they were all gorgeous. Love the intimate but buzzy atmosphere and decor. You can order Yard Sale pizza to the wine bar which was incredible and came super quick. The staff were amazing, especially Jacob who we emailed prior and sorted everything out for us which was so appreciated. Very cute outdoor area out the front and back too. Can’t recommend enough!

Super cool wine bar just south of Balham tube. Loved the decor inside. Nice to be in a place that’s not overdone. Has Californian vibes (but I’m no interiors expert). Great wines. Very friendly service. Good prices. 10/10 negroni. Wasn’t a fan of the beer but don’t let that stop you. Defs recommend. Over and out.

GO TO THIS PLACE AND DRINK WINE AND LIVE LIFE. I had always walked past Henny’s and seen a decent size crowd of nice people…like every night…even when the other bars nearby are empty. Interesting. My visit was fantastic. This place has nice decor, good chilled music and brilliant wine & cocktails too. But what makes it special is the team and service. A fella called Ryan looked after us and was super helpful and charming, helped us choose the wine but without being judgy or trying to ‘educate’. As the night went on Ryan and his colleague (terrible memory but I think her name was Kay) were so lovely and chatty to us, and to all the guests. It just elevated the night so much. Please enjoy my two very unhelpful photos, one of us (that Ryan kindly took) and one….of the loo?! Anyway, this place is a vibe and I now know why it’s busy and popular. Go on the lads.
