Henriqueta

"This “tasca” style restaurant in the southern part of Rio de Janeiro showcases the best of Portuguese cuisine in a bright environment with a glass façade, open kitchen and Portuguese ceramic decoration. The cuisine on offer dispenses with unnecessary frills, focusing on the quality of the ingredients and dishes designed for sharing, among which the “biff-anas açorianas”, a crispy bread sandwich filled with pork escalope marinated in wine and garlic, stands out. As a main course, we recommend the tender octopus “a lagareiro” roasted in oil, served with onion confit and mashed potatoes, followed by the “toucinho do céu” made with egg yolks, almonds and cinnamon, an authentic Portuguese dish if ever there was one!" - Michelin Inspector

Seafood is excellent, would absolutely eat here again, skip the guava, it needs to be served with ice cream not goats cheese, the version at Giuseppe’s is way better

Friendly and attentive service and delicious Portuguese food. Both the octopus and squid dishes were recommended by the waiter and they did not disappoint.

Really nice cosy spot for dinner, with outdoor aerea. Unfortunately the overall food was mediocre with nothing particularly great. The octopus was okay, but the cod fish was way too salty. Most of all, what really annoyed us was the fact that they took advantage of us as tourists. When we asked for the check, they added a 13% charge in handwriting, assuming we wouldn't question it. However, when we did question it, they claimed it was a service charge. We noticed that it was not printed on the bill, which seemed suspicious. Later, we found out it was a tip, and we felt forced to leave a tip when we are not obligated to. We were gonna leave some tip anyone, but being forced to give how much they wanted I don’t think was nice.

Charming spot in Leblon with very good seafood and great wine selection. We loved the chipirones and the steak sandwich appetizer.

Had dinner at Henriqueta and was disappointed. The food lacked the expected Portuguese taste and flair, it tasted bland. Service was poor, adding to the disappointment. Over proved for what it was. Not the standard you’d expect in Rio.

Great Portuguese place, pretty busy and popular. There food was really tasty, we especially loved the croquettes with cheese filling. The offered red Portuguese wine was just excellent. Friendly and attentive staff. Three thumbs up for this place! 👍👍👍

Sitting outside under the umbrellas in Rio was magical enough, and then there's the food. Takes it completely over the top. Highly recommended place for delicious Portuguese food and a great vibe.

Great little place just off the main strip. Didn't have a massive line like the other places, but it was still busy. Food was fantastic and the staff were very pleasant.
