The 5th floor nurses and staff are wonderful people. I was in their care for 9 days and I felt like I was at the spa. Excellent care was given by all involved. Dr. Tanaka has a God given talent and fantastic bedside manner.

I just have to say my thank you to the Henry ford team that took care of me on Christmas night. I was in so sick, I first went to Beaumont hospital, left because I wasn’t going to be seen until the next day. My mom took me to Henry and they took me 15 minutes of waiting. The nurses wore super sweet, and so was both doctors. They were very busy but still helped with my needs and I’m truly grateful- I feel so much better, thank you so much

Absolutely great security Star program. At Emergency entrencs and front desk. Great treatment from all. Nurse Lauren-18099 was exceptional. Went beyond what I would call great nursing. Case Manager RN Jill Z. Was also highly professional and had the patients best interest at heart. Thanks to all!

I don’t know where to begin… my 73-year-old mother missed a step and fell shoulder-first into a parked car before rolling onto the concrete curb. I rushed her to the nearest hospital, which turned out to be this cesspool Henry Ford. After taking an EKG, we were left in a freezing cold hallway for 2 hours. My mother was in agony, but nobody checked on her. Then we were carted to a “room” where the attention was barely better than the hallway. Her pain kept growing and we felt completely alone. Once I got our nurse, she was great, but she was so stretched thin she barely had time for us. I’m sitting here with her right now still waiting for X-ray results. We’ve been here for 6 hours now and have not received the care I would expect or that she deserves. The nurses are saints, but the system is completely failing. Do not come here if you can avoid it. I would have gone almost anywhere else had I known what awaited us. Editing this review (1.5 hours later and I’m still here, so why not?). They just took my mother to get more X-rays. Again, 73 year old who’s been here all damn day in agony. Again, the nurses are trying, but my god, how is this possible? How can a place be so awful? So dirty?

I had been in the hospital 2.5 days. 1.5 was in the ER with great people giving great care. I was there for seizures, from alcohol and an Abcess that cannot be drained. It needs constant IV antibiotics. Say nothing for the pain from the abcess (2 one is a golf ball, One is a Raquet ball) they give me appropriate meds when I was in ER. Then upstairs they cut out my W/D med immediately. . . I got upset and paged the attending physician ASAP and was told 2 lies. One that there is Maximum amount they are allowed to give 1,400mg and id exceeded that the previous day. I replied, I knew one infusion that takes an hour is less than 100mg, and I CERTAINTLY wasn't on one for that long. So now im complaining all morning about how I feel like I'm going to have one and the people on that floor, for whatever reason, I feel collectively positive that as a group they decided not to like. So 2 hours later lunch comes, Im Sitting up on the edge of my bed trying not to shake food all over, and BAM. . . I fell still on the floor, for about 3 seconds and came back to. Nurses all around me and the attending physician telling me after the fact. . . You didn't have a seizure, I had words, nothing racial, but not nice things. I later apologized but by then Security was kicking me out. IDK what to do, still very sick, Don't need a repeat of doctors not believing me bc im 39 and wear a hoodie. . . Thanks for reading. Henry J. Ford was a great American Patriot. He revolutionized the entire world's industrial revolution. Anyway thanks for reading this. It was hard. Always try things the hard was first. Easiness teaches complaceny. Owen S.D. Johnson.

UPDATE: My belongings were returned just a few days later. Somehow they went home with my roommate while I was at dialysis before my heart catheterization. The security team, nurses and customer care team were great at investigating and keeping me in the loop! I updated my review to reflect 4 stars vs 2, despite this mishap my care team was thorough and professional. Well, I was going to leave an exceptional review until I realized my belongings had been stolen while getting dressed to be discharged. My coat, slippers and fanny pack that had $200 dollars, my debt cards, insurance cards, license and house keys. I’ve been here for almost a week. I’m still recovering from yesterday’s surgery! This is the LAST thing I should have to deal with! I am originally a U of M patient! And was very hesitant to come to HF, but decided to because it’s 6 mins from my home and I was having severe chest pains. I now regret my decision. The nurses and medical teams were great but this just ruined my stay. I can’t stand a thief!

Worst experience ever! My husband needed leg bypass surgery and we were referred here. This was a scheduled risky 5 hour plus surgery and we were told he would be going in around noon, so we could see him before he went under. They ended up taking him at 7:30 and didn't bother to inform us until 2 hours later, so we never got a chance to see him beforehand. Then when he was in icu recovering from surgery they called to tell me they were prepping him for surgery! When I explained that he was already operated on, they asked me if I was sure, then asked me if his name was someone completely different. Apparently they mixed up who they were operating on, luckily they worked on the correct leg. I would imagine this is how patients wake up to find the wrong body part was operated on or removed. There were many other mistakes and issues, too many to even mention, no one even called after he was discharged to see how he was doing, and very little information was sent home with us regarding aftercare, in fact, we've received better patient care information after a simple colonoscomy than we did with this critical risky surgery. This is no longer the henry ford they used to be, and I have zero confidence in them, there was a time when they were considered the best, sadly, not anymore.

I want to send out a huge thank you to the valet attendant Draven. I drove 1 hr and 45 minutes to bring my mom here and she had just gotten some bad news. When they brought my car back from valet, the tire was flat and off the rim. It was freezing cold and Draven was kind enough to change my tire and direct me to the nearest tire shop. Thank you so much young man. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that.

Yelp
I am Yelping for a one Dr. Nolan Hayden, MD that is a resident at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit. I had to have a paracentisis procedure done and he perform the procedure under rhe watchful eye of his Attending Dr, Thomas Keimog, MD. Hadens Attending he did it "no better than I could do it" There is a point in the procedure where you will feel a deep zap feeling. I waited for it and never felt it. He did fantastically! Very well done Doc!!

Yelp
My daughter's podiatrist gave a referral to the neurology department for autonomic neuropathy. It's been 2 months of repeated phone calls to them to schedule this appointment. They say they never got the referral. The podiatry office says they have called and sent it over and over. I have faxed it myself too. Nobody can take responsibility and get this appointment scheduled. It's the same thing every time. TWO MONTHS OF THIS.

Yelp
My family has used the service of Ford Hospital for 60 years with great satisfaction! Thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and staff! Keep up the dedicated work you do. Sheila Stackpoole Rabaut

Yelp
My sister is a patient at the hospital in Wyandotte in the ICU. The care team there needs to transfer her to another facility. They would have preferred the main hospital, because it's closer to our home in Southgate. The ICU at Henry Ford in Detroit refused to accept her as a patient! We now have no choice, but for her to be sent to Detroit Receiving, which is further away. We cannot understand why this Hospital is being so unkind to my family at a time like this. Wyandotte ICU has been amazing. We would expect the same from its sister hospital. Their ER is also not recommended. We had taken my sister to Henry Ford Main ER once, and the wait time was so long that we had to take her somewhere else.

Yelp
I'm not one to leave reviews but I signed up here just to warn everyone. Horrible hospital. First of all stinks of piss. Came in for heart issue, was sent to an "emergency" bay... No vitals taken for 30 full minutes. Heart issue shaking cold sweat and you don't even want to take my blood pressure and bpm? Followed by 3.5 hours of pure waiting inside near the rest of the patients. Bed "rooms" are just sheets and thin walls, you're like 2 feet from the hallway at all times, makes for a very uncomfortable experience in an emergency. Usually overfilled with beds in the hallways. Practically no contact with nurses for hours despite pain. Curtains shut don't talk to me is the vibe. Second or third time coming here for a heart emergency over the years due to proximity and it is the same every time and worse every time. I can complain about facilities all day but no vitals for half an hour to an hour after entry feels like malpractice. In other hospitals it is your vitals upon entry that determine how long before you are seen.

Yelp
Was in for minor surgery. Rather than showing the incisions used to get into my chest cavity, I chose to show pictures of food. In my 2 hospital days, I had 5 meals and was satisfied with the quality and would rate the food 4 stars. Nursing care in pre- op, surgery and my room nurse was caring and professional. They explained and kept me updated on procedures and my progress. The surgeon and his staff were using their expertise with the latest technology for cancer. I was impressed. Was happy with everything, and of course, I hope that I never have to go back.

Yelp
I don't know what happened to this place since the merger, but they are now lumped in right along with Michigan Medicine and Trinity Health as one of the worst healthcare organizations I have ever had the displeasure of using. They have royally screwed up my billing and if they don't fix it, I hope they enjoy waiting on that exorbitant amount of money they are trying to charge because they'll never get it.

Yelp
The Hospital Staff was great. I had to get robotic assisted lung surgery and of course didn't feel very good. They were great, I am so thankful to have found these good people in Detroit of all places. The problem was parking. Where did they find these animals to park cars? let me guess DETROIT ! Didn't mind the $10 Parking but, my A/C went out and wasn't working. It was a nice day about 75 degrees. Had to go back out to the car, was surprised they started the car and left it idling. I shut the car off after they started it since I was on fumes from getting there. I went to roll down the window after my procedure was done and it didnt work. It worked fine when I went back out the 1st time. I am sure it made the person parking cars mad that I shut it off but there was no cool air from A/C. I might not have shut it off if I wasn't so sick and tired from driving for hours. I could just see some animal holding the window up switch intending to ruin it. As I said the Hospital was great but Henry Ford should screen Parking Employees better. Since they don't have any experience doing anything but parking cars you should know who you are dealing with and hiring.

Yelp
does not give quality care, no proper accommodations for family, no proper communication. They misdiagnosed my boyfriend's dad to where it could have resulted in him dying. This hospital is not reliable.

Yelp
Security staff is rude as he'll. Especially the bald head security lady. 1st time here and father is in for 2 surgeries and so far staff all seem rude as hell. No wonder this hospital only has a 2 star review.

Yelp
I've always liked this health system and see majority of providers here. Most of the medical staff (doctors/nurses/lab techs) are great and provide excellent care. Office managers in a lot of locations seem to be on a power trip. Have had some bad experiences with newer providers so hesitant to seek out anymore if needed. It was way better before when you could call the direct office a physician worked in. The switch to a generic call center has lead to a LOT of problems while trying to schedule appointments. An employee should know the doctor's they are scheduling for. This helps place a patient with the right person. This entire rebranding thing.... it seems as though the health system is starting to behave the way for profit hospitals work- where a patient is treated like a number vs a patient. Even your physicians are having issues with this. Listen to them and your patients. The old way of doing things worked just fine.

Yelp
The absolute worst care possible. My mother has been sitting in the HF Macomb emergency room for ten hours so far and there's 25 more just like her here. Absolutely zero patients have been taken back for care in the last three hours. When I asked the staff if they can give an ETA for her to get looked at, they said no - ER policy prevents that. Total BS. The best care they could give these patients tonight is to tell them we can't help you, do that they can get care somewhere else. This place is a disgrace to medicine. the one star review was mandatory - this place is azz

Yelp
Large facilities. Has all the specialist types of services available to a patient. At this facility again. Parking is nightmare and chaotic.

Yelp
I stopped by this hospital to visit a relative and I was definitely pleased. The hospital was extremely clean and the rooms seemed to be updated. I was also told that the Doctors and Nurses were amazing. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars out of 5 is because of the parking... It's a complete headache.

Yelp
Surgery was botched by Dr. Wu and ENT. She did the same to another patient earlier that morning of August 29th 2024. We both had to go to emergency for internal bleeding hours after she discharged us. We were told by Dr. Oslin the on call Ent we would not be on the hook for her incompetence. We then received a bill for 15k extra for the Er visit. Avoid this hospital network and doctors. Zero accountability and a phoney grievance process where they do not even respond to the complaint. It's all profit and no care. Filed a secondary grievance and they claimed it was never received.

Yelp
It took me a month to schedule a colonoscopy and endoscopy. It's a shame that every other service, including payment collection, miraculously happens in HFHS myChart, but scheduling, lord forbid. Got to play phone tag and deal with incorrect phone numbers and every other human error. I'm only back in Detroit for a year or so to help my elderly parents so I've been fortunate not to deal with the poor Detroit metro services in every aspect of daily living for the 25 years I've been gone. HFHS is behind other health systems nationally as well. I schedule my appointments in myChart at other health systems even if they are tentative and require staff to confirm. At least, I can initiate the process and do everything electronically. Scheduling can be automated for almost every service. THIS is ridiculous HF.

Yelp
At Henry's cafeteria. What the hell is Grogg? Why not rearrange the coffee bar and have the creamers, sugars and lids at the end? Having them at the start causes mass confusuon.

Yelp
Came here on 12/2/2022 for an all day living organ donor evaluation. Literally ALL DAY- from 7:30am- 4:30pm. The hospital is super easy to find, conveniently located right off the Lodge 10 freeway on West Grand Blvd. They have garage parking, which can be validated or free parking in front of the main entrance. Tons of parking in free area, as that's where I parked. While here for my 9 hour day I had the pleasure of meeting the entire living organ donor team, a total of 9 people. They consisted of the surgeons, social worked, psychologists, nurses, medical doctors and a handful of others on the team. Each and every single one of them was welcoming, professional and patient, as I sent approximately an hour with each person. They listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions throughly. It was a LONG day, I'm glad I was able to have a support person with me which was my 13 year old daughter. She was super awesome keeping me company. Plus, all the entire donor team was very engaging with her- I appreciated that the most. I've been communicating with my donor advocate Emily since June, when this process began. She's amazing! She's been so supportive this entire process, which has been a half a year in the works. I cannot thank her enough for everything she has done for me, not only my advocate- but along the way became a friend. My gratitude for her has no words. While here the entire day, my daughter and I got a 30 minute lunch break. I truly wanted to just take a nap, but both of us were starving. We were both given $5 vouchers to eat in the cafeteria, which was awesome. The cafeteria had tons of items to choose from including gran and go items, cooks making hot food and a grill with burgers, fries and chicken. Their was hot soups, salads and tons of snacks and beverages. Daughter was happy with her sandwich and fries and I got 2 super fresh garden salads. Our vouchers paid for everything we got, so the prices were super cheap for a good lunch. At the end of my meetings with the entire donor team, I was sent to X-Ray for pictures of my chest and abdomen. From there I was send to get a complete cat scan. Both the technicians where very welcoming and friendly. I was exhausted by then, and I appreciated their compassion. I couldn't have had a better experience for something that wasn't/isn't required. My intent was to donate my kidney anonymously. Fast forward Tuesday 12/6/2022. My cat scan revealed that my right kidney has 3 arteries, they one they wanted to take. My left kidney has 2 arteries. Most people only have 1 artery to each kidney. 10% of people have 2 arteries, and only 1% of people have 3 arteries. This coupled with the fact that I have sepsis just less than 2 years ago, ruled me out for donation. It's unfortunate because all my test these last 6 months have proved that I'm one of the healthiest people alive. But my risk factor with so many arteries makes the doctors worry for my health. I don't regret all the time and effort put into this experience. If it would have worked out, it would/could have been life changing for someone.

Yelp
I did change my name because of I was worried that I may get nasty messages somehow from the "manager" and "office manager" As for HR we (myself and other employees) all agree that they won't do anything to help with the problems so none of us have tried. Some of the employees that have left and some that are still there and verify all of my claims.

Vicky S.

Yelp
To start off, my review does not reflect the care of the patient in question. The patient was my cousin, who was more like a much older sister than a cousin. We had also became very close friends. Her illness was very fast progressing, and she was under the care of Henry Ford Hospital, first at the Wyandotte, MI location, then at main campus on W. Grand Blvd. in Detroit. The nurses and Drs. were great. The problem is that my cousin passed away this morning, April 28, 2025, and NO ONE called to let me know. I called the Hospice Dept. around 3:00pm to check in to see how my cousin was doing today, because no one had called, as they usually did. I was put on hold, only to be told she died around 5:30 am; almost ten hours before my phone call!!!!! I am sooo angry, I can't even cry right now!!

Yelp
I wanted to give an understanding review of an overwhelmed ER whose staff is fighting to give good service while fighting being burned out and too many patients because of the idiots that refuse to be vaccinated or even wear masks. Because of these idiots who either don't care about others or there brains refuse to listen to real science instead of their political side, the rest of us with serious medical problems suffer. I was called by my doctor when I was eating supper in the cafeteria after a doctor appointment with a specialist. She had ordered blood work that afternoon and I did it before the appointment. The lab called her to tell her my sodium level was dangerous low!!! I was ordered to the ER for another test of it and if it was confirmed, to be treated over night. I could die if this was correct and not treated in a hospital. I was quickly seen but since I was stable, I was sent to a hallway to sit in a chair to wait for a doctor to look at me. I was given an EKG in the intake part before that. There was about 15 others with 1 nurse and 1doctor trying to order tests and treat. NO BEDS were available and all of us looked stable enough to sit in chairs. It took them over 2 1/2 hours to have me tested. Another gentleman across from me had been sent to the ER by a specialist since his blood pressure was 80 over 50 ! In normal time, all of us would have been in a bed in ER and quickly treated. When my test came back just out of the dangerous level, I was sent home at 9:30. The EKG wasn't read until the next morning and it came back abnormal. Why the 5 stars after that experience, the staff and the system they set up are trying their best and it is not there fault that too many in America are failing them. While I was there, the ones who could barely sit up got help quickly. That male nurse was caring and tried to give individual service. If you think those who refuse to be vaccinated or wear a mask and fight for their children to not wear them will not effect those of us who are vaccinated and wear mask, you are wrong. If you need emergency care, you won't get it or have to wait hours. My problem is this is the second trip to an ER for this problem in 6 weeks. If I need a hospital bed, will it be there?

Yelp
My boyfriend had an accident many years ago and was finally able to get back surgery here yesterday. He is Deaf. HF provided an interpreter from 6am-4p yesterday and another interpreter was provided this morning at 6am. That's the only good thing that has happened since arriving here. My boyfriend woke up from surgery and was sent to recovery around 1:30p yesterday. He finally got a room at 8:40p. The beds in recovery are not equipped for someone, especially with back surgery, to be laid upon for that many hours. One person from the surgical team came to talk to him soon after arriving in recovery, but my boyfriend was still groggy and not quite awake to have a good conversation. We asked someone to come buy later so he could properly ask about the surgery and what was actually done. The recovery nurse tried to contact the Neuro Doctor on staff for 5 to 6 hours to have him explain the surgery, and he only finally came by right before he was transported to B5. He would not give my bf anything for pain other that a very small dose of Norco (which he has a high tolerance of due to living with back pain for many years). My boyfriends pain had gotten out of control soon after arriving to recovery and was never taken care of til even now. His bp has been very high (which he normally doesn't have) due to the pain? He has not rested at all...he sat in a chair all night because he couldn't get up and down from the bed without excruciating pain. The 3rd shift nurse didn't seem to know how to help or what to do. She did call the doctor to get some pain meds, but they did not help. At all. I basically took care of him because we couldn't get anyone to help us. I was his interpreter as well (until 6am this morning). He was brought to a CT scan this morning and the transporter was rude and hit every bump on the way there and back, without care. Many people on staff here look miserable and they seem overworked and under staffed. We couldn't even get anyone to bring us water until several hours after arriving to B5. I used to work at a large Michigan hospital and I can clearly see that this HF location is a place we will never go again. The surgeon did a good job with my boyfriends mom and uncle in the past...they had no problems. We are shocked at how bad my bf has been treated here. It's shameful. He's treated like he is a burden. We would have left late last night, but that would jeopardize insurance paying, so we were forced to stay. I called for a patient advocate and the message said they would get in touch in 1 business day, so I'm assuming we will be gone by then (hopefully). Update-OT came in this morning and helped so much. The new RN is great too. Finally getting some much needed help.

Al R.

Yelp
there is a lot of money being put into this hospital to make it look nice. but the service and knowledge of the employees (doctors, nurses, security guards,) is horrible. their sense of urgency is none existent. just a bunch of none caring individuals in scrubs milking a clock.

Rebecca T.

Yelp
I live less than a mile away from HF Main Campus in Detroit. They used to be the best. Then they became a hedge fund about 5 years ago. Now they overbook appointments, the parking is a nightmare, they are understaffed, and they try to turn patients around as fast as possible. It is not the fault of the medical staff. So, now I drive all the way to Dearborn to go to small Corwell facilities, to be treated like a human. I needed a cardiologist back in December, I couldn't get an appointment until mid February with Henry Ford. Within 2 days, I was able to change my PCP to someone in Dearborn, and he got me into a cardiologist in early January. I wore a heart monitor for 2 weeks and already had my followup, diagnosis and medication by the time I would have seen the HF cardiologist. I even forgot that I had an appointment with a HF cardiologist in mid February, so they charged me $100 for a no-show. They suck.

Yelp R.

Yelp
In the cafeteria, the water machines (both) are broken. They force you to pay for water as a result, likely on purpose to gauge money. The chicken of a grilled sandwich didn't fill half the bun. The chicken meatballs dinner included a whipping 2 meatballs. And the Caesar salad did not include dressing. I had to go back and purchase Caesar dressing for my Caesar salad. And the soup needs salt. It's just hospital cafeteria food, I know. But the nickel and dime'ing is pathetic.

Yelp
Horrible experience the wait time over there is crazy nerves choose this place go anywhere but here, they don't care about anybody at this location never again

Yelp
Service communication from patients to nursing staff numerous times no one answered my call on the call button I sat for hour and half till someone finally answered my call waiting to be discharged no one told my nurse she finally came to my room and got called away she didn't understand why no told I was buzzing her I got no pain medicine sent home with me there was numerous other things I was not happy with

Yelp
BEWARE- unsafe place for Elderly. I'm completely disgusted with this hospital. You literally should be ashamed of yourselves. My 79 year old father comes in to have a FN biopsy and after the procedure as he is about to return home, he texted his children to say he was out of surgery and that he would call us after he was home and rested. However, he was unable to call or get that rest because his phone was stolen. He set it down while getting into the wheelchair and forgot to grab it. Duhhh, I'm quite sure he was still groggy from anesthesia. When he called to the hospital he was told they had it, but then given the run around on when to pick it up. Then all of a sudden it's mysteriously gone. I HATE THE WAY YOU DUMB ASS HOSPITALS TREAT VUNERABLE POPULATIONS OF PEOPLE. SHAME ON YOU!!!! I HOPE TO GOD YOU GET EVERYTHING COMING TO YOU FOR BEING DISGUSTING. Now instead of resting and waiting to see if he has CANCER, he has to put his mind on figuring out how to get everything lost on his phone and a new phone. I WISH ALL THE KARMA THE UNIVERSE CAN MUSTER AGAINST THIS PLACE. BEWARE Don't let this place near you or your elders.

Terri S.

Yelp
Great care for our emergency!!! Super attentive, extremely knowledgeable, gentle and immediate care. Our nurse, Chris, was especially good at making us feel calm and safe! And thanks to all of the staff, things are going well now. HENRY FORD HEALTH, PLYMOUTH

Yelp
I have responded to Henry Ford to request an update to correct the error to my medical records. I have followed their instructions. I'm waiting to see if I can get this issue resolved in a timely manner.

Yelp
horrible doctors the la behind the desk don't care if you need help they will tell you to sit down have been here for 7 hrs not seen at all crying in pain just told to sit down avoid this place at all cost worst voted #1 worst doctors office in Michigan

Yelp
Without a question, one of Detroit's worst hospitals is HFHS. It is intolerable how much carelessness and dehumanization occur here. I had to use the Henry Ford healthcare system to get care because I was born with an abundance of health problems. It's a terrible experience every time. Through HFHS, I have never experienced empathy or compassion, nor have I ever felt listened to. They'll label you, tell lies, and treat you like a statistic. You won't receive care, you won't get medicine, and you'll be ignored. Please get care elsewhere for your own sake. This travesty should not be tolerated. At the main campus, I have experienced physical assault. Ignoring mental health concerns will make you feel accountable for the trauma you experienced. The doctors are unable to distinguish between trauma survivors and drug seekers. They will pressure you to agree to pointless procedures that will make your situation worse. If you have a low income, you are a test subject for the students at HFHS. They have trouble with basic healthcare; nurses will not fill your prescriptions on time; they will be supervised by a trainer and not understand how the equipment operates. They will not stand up for you. All they want is your cash or insurance.

Yelp
My five stars are for Edwin J, the CNA in I-unit on the 5th floor. He was excellent. He took good care of my mom while she was there, and made sure my family was good when we came to visit. He was such a sweetheart, with a really nice personality! I told him I wish I could take him home with us.

Yelp
DO NOT GO TO THEIR EMERGENCY ROOM. Their staff is very rude, impolite and unprofessional please save yourself in an emergency and do not go here! My father waited in severe pain in a wheelchair for three hours as he watched people who could physically walk and were clearly addicted to drugs be seen. When I arrived and brought this up to the staff they told me he was a low priority compared to abled body walking people. I was also told they could not give out a wait time. Once they seen we were leaving and it was unrealistic to ask us to wait for 4 hours all of a sudden then knew we were next on the list to be seen. When I asked is it any where I could submit a review or complaint she replied all she had in 2024 was a yellow piece of paper I could fill out that can be easily thrown into the trash. I later went to the main front desk and got a phone number I could call. This emergency room shouldn't even get one star.

Yelp
Slow response by nursing staff but I image they are short staffed. Doctors seems good. The patient room is disgusting. Room is cleaned and mopped daily but rooms needs to be completely stripped and deep cleaned.

Yelp
Not the newest or fanciest hospital in the Detroit area..but the care and compassion of the staff and doctors is much better than all of the others I have been to with my now 87 year old father.

Yelp
I have only been to the Henry Ford Hospital Detroit for Orthopaedics when I was treated after a dislocated hip. While the doctors, nurses, and everyone I dealt with then were all Professonal and very good at what they do, the main issues I have with coming to this location are the traffic (depending on the time and day), the parking, and the generally older feel of the facilities here. Recently I have been experiencing a pinched nerve and have been in Physical Therapy for a number of weeks to help with recovery. The Orthopaedics Surgeon I was scheduled to see to review the results of an MRI only works in this Henry Ford Hospital location so here I am. I allowed plenty of extra time to be able to be on time or early for my appointment. After dealing with the usual morning rush hours, I finally arrived plenty early and followed the signs for self parking entrance where I got in line that was backed up. Then I played follow the leader around and around looking for an open spot. Because of my condition, I watched for the handicap spots...all full! Duh, it's a hospital. I finally found one not too far from the elevator and proceeded inside where I searched for the right elevators to get to my appointment. Oh, and the nominal charge for being able to self-park is $2.50.

Yelp
One could DIE waiting for a call back. My husbands primary Doctor wrote a script for a colonoscopy to be done earlier then the 5 year recommendation due to blood in stool. It has now been approximately 4 weeks after he initially called to get something scheduled. Told Gastro dept will contact him to schedule. I called today and was told he is not due for another two years... Also was originally told by his primary may take a while to get scheduled because they are so busy. We just wanted a CALL BACK to get a appointment set...NOW they are saying he has to go to get a consult from their gastroenterologist to see if its necessary...REALLY???? I could see this if we were dealing with the insurance co but this is the HOSPITAL...His sister passed away at the age of 42 from COLON CANCER so this is pretty important.

Yelp
BEWARE OF Dr. Hammoudeh Truly disappointed with parts of this hospital. The doctor Dr. Hammoudeh advised my Mom she needed to be on oxygen months ago. My mom didn't get approved for it when the doctor submitted the order because the doctor didn't properly handle the first visit. Yet they placed an order to Hart Medical Supply and said the equipment was ready to pickup. My mom was informed to return in May to have everything properly done. This time they went through the proper procedures and told her it would be ready after sending the order downstairs to the medical supply store. Fast forward a few weeks later at the end of my, still no oxygen tank and my Mom landed in the hospital and had to be placed on oxygen. I drove here from California when I was informed on 5/28 and arrived 5/30. I investigated this error even deeper aside from what my step father told me and discovered the medical supply store sent several request for my Mom's chart notes. The chart notes support the request for medical equipment along with the proper diagnosis code. I interrogated the medical supply store and the department on the 15th floor that saw my mom because this the chart notes wasn't sent. Within 24 hours I able to get them to fix a long winded situation because this dated from her original visit months ago in March when it was determined she needed to be eligible. However, the doctor did not do the proper steps and they were contacted severs times from March 31 - End of May right before my Mom went into the hospital. BEWARE OF Dr. Hammoudeh. I will be reporting her to Michigan Board of Medicine.

Yelp
Reading the reviews, I'd say Detroiter's have very low standards about service time expectations. As a visitor to the area from Atlanta and checking into ER at 2:30 pm and still sitting in the ER lobby after 10:30pm (that's right 8+ hours in the lobby, waiting to see a doctor). All I can say is I hope you never need to visit the ER while you visit. Coming from another big and dense city, I expected a wait, but if an 8+ hour wait in the lobby is acceptable for you, then come here for your ER care.

Yelp
Best hospital in metro Detroit. Staff is friendly and well informed. Everyone was helpful and explained things. I have elected to have 2 major surgeries there

Yelp
@HFHS_WLassiter3 Sir just let congratulate on a totally inept and incompetent logistics and supply chain at HF Detroit. I had to go through three supervisors to get a care package sent to my Mom in I414. An Af/Am attendant at the visitors desk Female was rude and insulent. @HenryFordNews @HFHS_WLassiter3 Please address this before I recover and compose something more damning for FB. E.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible! The staff is deplorable. Very mean, Impatient & CURT. Starting with the nurse at the starting nurses station.. The wait is unreasonably long & when you make any inquiries, the response is so rude. It's unbelievable how many times I've heard nurses say "don't bring me any more patients" or "oh I'm just here"... what a a way to make sick people feel comfortable in your care. Not to mention, it's dirty. So disappointed & dissatisfied in my visit.

Yelp
Worst hospital I've ever been in ,we were treated like criminals in the emergency room, not one person was helpful, my father came here from an other hospital, so we came to be with him, Why are all the people working here so rude, is it because of the area they are in??? I don't want anyone to be overly nice to me but I don't want to be talked down to, shame on them if they don't like what they do, shame on the administration for keeping there people working here...shame

Yelp
I came in because my chest is getting really tight when I breathe the nurse at the emergency check in thing said o chest pain for three days he will be fine I'm very upset you work in the medical field and I'm a person in pain yes I ignored it for three days I'm a man I have to provide so I went to work but now that I can't take the pain a nurse says some crap like that like my pain isn't valid I'm highly upset and if I wasn't in so much pain I would drive to a different hospital

Yelp
One of my issue with this place is the parking. It costs $2.50. I'll never understand why one should have to pay for parking at a HOSPITAL. I've even been told that I still had to pay the $2.50 for being inside for literally 7 minutes, dropping off paperwork with an advocate at the front desk. I didn't even see a doctor, but I had no choice but park in the structure. Aside from that, you need to have ample time to even search for a spot, before your appointment. Which leads to my next issue. I've never had an actual appointment, at THIS location, that started on time. Ever. Always a 20+ minute wait. For the most part, the staff is polite and seem to care. I came through emergency, once, and had a procedure done and my engagement ring went missing. The nurse made it her mission to find it. I wish I could remember her name, but I'll never forget her face.
