Where to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in San Diego | Eater San Diego

"This pub’s menu features a variety of options that will please everyone for dinner, but their particularly Irish-inspired Ol’ Hank’s Rueben is sure to be a pleaser. The sandwich includes Guinness-soaked corned beef." - Grace Cassidy

We made a quick stop here before heading back to Denver and the food was amazing! We ordered calamari and loved it! It was seasoned well and fried perfectly, the sauce was a bonus since places usually do some kind of tomato sauce but this place offers more a of mayo based sauce. I ordered the steak and shrimp, the steak was cooked perfect medium rare, super juicy and comes with garlic butter. The shrimps were big and the seasoning was amazing. This week's side dish was the elote on cob and it was great! For desert we ordered the bread pudding, which was sweet and baked perfectly. We will definitely return!

We had a great time here. Nice atmosphere, strice staff was great and attentive, the food was amazing! I had the medallions and my husband had the fish and chips. We also had an appetizer, the fried calamari. Everything was fresh and delicious 😋. Definitely a must if your in downtown Loveland ❤️.

Stopped in after exploring RMNP. Didn’t have to wait for a table, order taken quickly by friendly staff. I had a poutine burger which was really good but I couldn’t eat it by hand. Once I resorted to knife and fork I thoroughly enjoyed it. Just know it is messy but delicious!!! All of our food was awesome and service and atmosphere was great! Highly recommended!!

Every year I come visit my son I always make sure we stop and we to downtown and have dinner here. Always great service. The pair martini was delicious and my son enjoyed his schnitzel. Wait staff was fantastic!

It seems every city along the Front Range has either an Irish or English pub. The Henry’s Pub in Loveland is quite popular among the locals. The menu is typical pub fair. My friend had the shepherds pie and I had the schnitzel sandwich. The price was reasonable, portion for both was large and also tasty except a little heavy on the salt. The service was fine, our server really did her basic duty with a smile.

A great place to eat some great food in Loveland, Colorado. Portions are not large, however, you will remember how you felt in the place and the amazing food taste.

First visit, and we loved the place! From the outside it looked completely full (on a Thursday night), but we were seated immediately. They have a great menu full of my kind of food. My wife had the Fish And Chips, and I had a Shepherd's Pie (it being a pub and all). We shared so as to try both. Fish And Chips was the home-run order - it looked amazing and tasted just as good. The fries are lightly seasoned but are so good that I ate them as-is (no condiment). I'd recently had fish-n-chips at The Airplane Restaurant in Colorado Springs, and that wasn't bad, but this is on a whole other level; "Perfect" seems appropriate. I enjoyed my Shepherd's Pie for variety's sake, but was openly envious of my wife's order. We both had Killer Boots beer, and it was good but not a new favorite. On tips: A recent review basically said "the service sucked but I tip 20% no matter what". That's as wrong as you can get! Good service deserves to be rewarded, and bad service should be discouraged in a meaningful way (monetarily). I was a little put off by the 3 tipping options - 20%, 22%, 25% - fabulous service deserves only 5% more than lackluster service? But, speaking of service, we were really impressed. Nothing but friendly servers really hustling. Exemplary!

Google
I was led to the bar for to-go orders. The hostess had beautiful pink hair and was very friendly. The bar tender was efficient and offered me water while I waited. I ordered the beef stroganoff because of the reviews. Not only was the portion small for the 20 I paid, it was also not very flavorful. Not impressed and do not recommend. I also ordered the Irish nachos which were tasty but the toppings were not proportional to the amount of fries that were given. So, maybe ten fries had toppings and the rest did not. Pretty disappointing. Probably will not be coming back as this was expensive and not worth the price, at least to go.

Yelp
We recently visited Loveland, Colorado to see a Michael Martin Murphey concert at the Rialto Theatre. The theater is literally right next door to the restaurant. Since it was a Friday night and also a concert night I had made reservations in advance and I recommend that as it was very, very busy! Service started off sort of slow but in fairness the place was packed. Once service started it was fine. I got one of the specials. Chicken Fried Steak. My husband got a cheeseburger and wedge fries. Food was excellent! Highly satisfied with it all the way around. If you're attending an event at the Rialto Theatre, I would highly recommend this place for dinner before a show.

Yelp
Good portion of turkey in my sandwich The bacon was crispy. The fries were decent but I will say the service was great and the place was busy on a Monday evening.

Yelp
Neat old building in Loveland. Food was very good. Better than your typical pub. Service was great.

Yelp
Stayed in Loveland for the CSU graduation and my AirBnB host recommended Henry's. They take reservations and were very accommodating. Taylor's service was excellent and the food was amazingly good! The restaurant was cozy but a bit noisy, which for our group was needed . Thank you Henry's for making the graduation celebration so special. Highly recommend

Yelp
Pretty good lunch place in Loveland. Waitress didn't give my wife the option to hold the tomatoes, as they just 'come on the side', which means the juice gets into everything. I said I had a tomato allergy, so they did leave them off my plate, but they also left off everything else...lettuce, onions, and pickles, so I had nothing for my grilled chicken sandwich. My wife liked her quinoa burger, even though the patty was thin. My daughter liked her sourdough burger even though it was rather messy. Fries and tots were good too. We'd come back if needed next time we're here.

Jessica W.

Yelp
Food was fabulous. Service was attentive and friendly. My only complaint is the open and loud dining room was rather excessive for a quiet meal.

Yelp
Devon and the rest were amazing. Had a very nice dinner experience and the food was top notch!!!

Christopher S.

Yelp
Delicious food and amazing service! Best restaurant in town! The atmosphere and drinks are top notch too!

Yelp
Fantastic lunch. The fried chicken sandwich was great not too greasy, both my son and O loved it. My daughter liked the children's pasta and my son liked the grilled cheese. My wife loved the salad as well.

Yelp
My friends and I came to this restaurant and we each ordered something different and everybody enjoyed every dish. Very good food. Good service nice ambience.!

Yelp
Amazing! Off street parking, which a.bit tricky but we found some. The wait was about 20 minutes, but the bar was first come, first serve, self seat, and open, so we did that. I'm glad we did. Sarah was awesome. She was so kind and helpful answering any questions without an issue or attitude. We got buffalo chicken salad and the black Angus burger with white cheddar cheese. Both were amazing. The entire party was extremely happy. That is the best burger I have had in a long time. Tip: Bar is first come, self seat and the high top tables in the back with the benches and chairs is part of that.

Yelp
My husband and I were staying in Loveland for one night stay on a Monday and gave it a try. Henry is located in the downtown area which is currently under a lot of construction. It was so worth it! We went early, around 5 pm, and we so glad we did. The place was packed by 6. We each had one of their draft beers and I had a sandwich that you must eat with a fork, my husband had fish & chips. We followed up splitting a choc derby pie. Service was good! Food was better - not your run of the mill place. If we ever get to the area again - it's a definite !
google avatar

Yelp
The windows were dark but there was an OPEN placard next to the door. So, we took our chances, parked, and walked 1/2 block. Opened the door and the place was packed! Bustling and bursting of good vibes! Bubs had the Sourdough Burger and I had a Cheeseburger. Both made to order delicious. Came back a 2nd time the following week and I had The. Best. Fish & Chips! So good! I didn't even see nor cared what Bubs had! Whatever he had was devoured!
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant is my favorite in town. You might have a hard time getting a table after 5, but it's worth it. The food is amazing, and we've been here a few times, with co-workers and nobody has anything bad or a reason to complain. Can't wait to get back and try another dish.
google avatar

Ken B.

Yelp
I've been here before. I was in town to see a friend on my way back west. The food was good and the service was friendly. I just wish they wouldn't have put me in the only corner. The place was not full and it was still well before the dinner rush. The hardships of dining alone. lol. I still like the place and will probably eat here again next time.

Yelp
Worst experience and did not even get to taste the food Walked in with my 78 yo mother and was told it would be a 20-30 min wait After 30 min asked if it would be much longer - told we were 3rd on list and would be soon At the 1 hour point and seeing many groups seated told we were still 20-30 minutes away and 2 groups in front of us Asked why they told us 30 minutes away when it was going to be closer to 90 minutes waiting with an older woman Hosted shrugged her shoulder an and did not answer - manager next to her had nothing to say either Week management and bad customer service

Yelp
After many recommendations for Henry's, we decided to stop in! To no surprise, there was a wait, but luckily there were a few spots open at the bar. To me, Henry's ambiance felt like a combination of a pub and a cozy family restaurant, it does feel slightly dated but that adds charm to the place. Their menu is large and all the dishes sounded amazing. Photos of our food is attached, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive. Pricing was very reasonable.

John B.

Yelp
When ever I visit the Loveland area I try to make a reservation at Henry's Pub. It is hard to get in otherwise. Some times an extensive menu raises a red flag but not in Henry's case. My favorite fall and winter dish is the cast iron skillet Shepard's Pie. I was just there and had the pork schnitzel which was perfect. The street in front is currently being reworked but Henry's is accessible. The staff has been uniformly good.
google avatar

Sarena R.

Yelp
Henry's is our favorite dinner spot in Loveland. Pretty easy to find parking nearby in the city, too. It reminds us of the places in Ireland you'd find. The hot cocoa was even done how the Irish pubs do it. Love the stroganoff and service is always super attentive.
google avatar

Kelley S.

Yelp
Everything about this place is amazing the service and the food! At least in my couple of experiences!
google avatar

Alec C.

Yelp
Always a go to stop for me! Great for a social meet or date night! Great food and even better drinks! Staff is always friendly and willing to recommend drinks, whether to pair or for desert. Food is perfect as always. I had the stroganoff and it is always a personal favorite! Creamy, al dente and a great flavor profile! I also def recommend their fish fry if you can make it! Always a great eat! One of my go to drinks is an old fashioned and they hit the mark every time. A perfect simple yet complex flavor topped with a hint of citrus and their cherries are always a good way to sip through the night! Definitely recommend to other locals and those looking for a good bite in the area!

Yelp
Henry's Pub is a real cool place to have a little nip & some typical pub favorites. Henry's has a large collection of liquor. I was impressed with the bourbon selection of Pappy Van Winkle, Col. E. H. Taylor, Jr., W. L. Weller & Blanton bottles. The atmosphere is lively & packed, so make your reservations. For our dinning, we enjoyed the beef stroganoff, bangers and mash, and salmon. they were all well prepared and delicious.

Yelp
This was our first dinner here. Have been there for lunch. Monday night anniversary dinner went early and got a table. Wait staff was quick to come and bring us some water and take a drink order. Little lag until her next stop when we placed our order Started with PEI mussels and they were wonderful. I had a cold Riesling and it was wonderful with the mussels. Dinner came and I had the filet medallions which were perfectly cooked. Sauce was a little heavy and too much. Next time I'll get it on the side. Husband had beef stroganoff which was great. We both got dessert. Brownie sundae for him and bourbon pecan pie for me. We took leftovers home from each! Only downside was they forgot husbands salad but they apologized and we weren't charged The restaurant was busy for a Monday night which made it a little noisy but the tables are spaced far enough apart that we didn't hear other tables conversations.
google avatar

Nicole H.

Yelp
Henry's is a great little pub and restaurant! The staff is amazing and so nice! The food choices were great. Started with the calamari, which was tasty and a good portion. For the entrees we settled on the fish and chips and the mahogany steak medallions, both of which were excellent! Would definitely recommend and will be back again!
google avatar

Harlee S.

Yelp
Had a lovely meal here around 3, and the place was packed. That's when you know the food is good. Service was great, and the vibes were there. I love the setup as you aren't too close to other parties where they can hear your conversation. Gorgonzola Carbonara. For $18, you get a hefty portion and delicious focacia. I only wish it was more saucy because the gorgonzola cream was so tasty. Fried Chicken Sandwich. At $13, you get a great bang for your buck. The sandwich was huge and my sister raved about it. The tots were seasoned perfectly and had the best crispy crunch to em.

Becki T.

Yelp
We arrived 15 minutes before close and the hostess promptly told us "we close in 5 minutes," which was not true. My husband replied "so you're not serving food at all?" She just gave us a hateful look, grabbed our menus, and begrudgingly took us to our booth. She was clearly angry and made us very uncomfortable. Note to manager: this employee needs a job where she isn't dealing with the customers.
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
If you look at my account, I know food. Too much as I'm too fat! No lie, I've waited to post about this spot because I've been searching the menu for something I would hate on. Seriously, I haven't found it. Everything here is crazy good, and trust a kid from Chicago they have the best cheese curds I've found since leaving the Midwest. Everything has been cooked to spec, never missing my temperatures, the service top notch, and it's a great place to bring the family or a date. If you're looking to rage downtown Loveland, start here!
google avatar

Becky S.

Yelp
The service was friendly and prompt, though the hostess was a little grumpy. The food vas very good, my burger was a little over cooked but still good. Lots of blue cheese on my blue cheese burger. It was like any old pub in side average noise normal lighting.

Jerry B.

Yelp
Walleye was great, beer was cold, service was good. Who could ask for anything more?
google avatar

Ira P.

Yelp
Love Henry's Pub! Always take my out of town visitors here for lunch. Great shepherds pie and cocktails. Of all the places in Loveland this is one of the best in my opinion.

Rhonda G.

Yelp
Sorry I named this as Harry's in a priori review when it is Henry's. Oops. Food delicious and atmosphere very pleasant. Staff thoughtful with prompt attentive service.
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
Bangers and mash fantastic. Salmon pasta full of flavors. Calamari the best I've ever had, the sauce was cheese based not the typical marinara. Great menu selection to choose from. Service was fast and friendly. Cool place. Cactus kombucha was delightful. I will return. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Richard H.

Yelp
Ordered calamari and fish and chips to go. Food was good the only down side was the to go containers kept the steam in and the fish ended up as little soggy. I'm sure eating in it would have been great.
google avatar

Inspired C.

Yelp
We were visiting family who suggested we go for the variety of food. Large selection to choose from including drinks! Due to the wait we ended up in the bar area and I am glad we did. We had fantastic service! The sauce served with the calamari was delicious! We tried the Brussels Beer Cheese starter-TRY IT! I don't think you will find this anywhere else! Drinks, food and service! Cannot go wrong trying out Henry's! In downtown Loveland!
google avatar

Cherie K.

Yelp
Love this place, definitely recommend reservations to it. Consistently great food and service!
google avatar

Elijah C.

Yelp
It's all about the little things, which isn't to say this place doesn't have a huge variety of drinks worth a shot, pun intended! From the herbed focaccia to the expertly seasoned tomato basil soup for my cheese curds, this place is just getting it right. My only gripe is that the fries were not altogether crisp which was a bummer, but I'll give them a pass for all they've done right. Leaving absolutely stuffed with leftovers, well worth a visit whenever you catch yourself traipsing through Loveland for a special bite to eat. Extra Scoop: One of the few places that can get away with serving any cuisine they please, I wanna try the whole menu!
google avatar

Holly S.

Yelp
Shout out to Sara first of all. Amazing service. Friendly and fun. THE BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH I have ever had. The crispy tender crunchy fry was perfect and that sauce!!! Get the walnut cranberry salad. Off the charts fresh and my son loved his Reuben thin buttery brisket stacked high. Ambience is top notch. Rustic. Cozy. We will be back.

Emily D.

Yelp
We found the last two spots at the bar, and when we sat down, we were instantly greeted by a very kind bartender. I never know what I want to drink and once I told him I like spicy, he asked if I trusted him, and made me an amazingly spicy and delicious cocktail. Then we ordered our food, I'm from Alaska and felt weird ordering fish and chips but I decided to go with shrimp instead and was not let down. Whatever breading they use is fantastic. 100% recommended. Good atmosphere. Good people. Good food!

Yelp
I found Henry's Pub on Yelp during a recent stay over in Loveland. The reviews and food pics convinced me and my group to try it. This is a fantastic restaurant. Very casual atmosphere. Terrific service. Everyone is very friendly. Okay, now to the food. I started with the Brussel Beer Cheese dip. Blew me away. Outstanding. Next, I ordered Bangers and Mash with a side of Pub Slaw. Also terrific. My table also had burgers and Garganzola Carbonara. Everything was delicious. I'm guessing everything on the menu is awesome based on the reviews, packed house and local clientele. Great job Henry's Pub and a special thanks to our wonderful server Maggie M.

Melissa H.

Yelp
Had a wonderful birthday dinner while visiting family in Loveland! Service was quick and friendly and the food was amazing! I had the pumpkin ravioli which was great! Others in our party enjoyed the schnitzel, french dip and shepherd's pie... all were fantastic! the drink menu is also great and the cadillac margarita was delicious. Cozy and comfortable atmosphere! will be back for sure!

Sumukh T.

Yelp
This seems to be the place in Loveland which I don't really know what that may mean but went there on a Monday at 6 pm and needed to put us on the waitlist. Luckily it was a nice evening so just walked around this area of Loveland for 15-20 minutes before a table was ready. Their vegetarian options are limited but at least present. I ended up getting the quinoa burger along with tater tots. It was good in delivering on that option. Service was pleasant. It is a nice setup of a pub/restaurant for a good conversation which was the goal. Ultimately I enjoyed it.
google avatar

Yelp
What a great place! The food is delicious! My buddy and I were on a business trip and heard about this place. First off, having to make reservations for a Pub is unheard of! But please do make reservations if you want a table. We are in a Wednesday night. Only table available at 7:15. We ordered two appetizers. Potato nachos and calamari strips. The potato nachos were wonderful! Thick cut crunchy fries covered with cheese, jalapeños and steak. Super yummy!! The tender calamari strips were perfectly tender with a crunchy coating. For dinner I had the schnitzel which was delicious! Two tender juicy pork cutlets covered with Panko crumbs slathered with a rich mushroom gravy. Super yummy! My buddy had the Cod dinner and seemed to like it as well! The service was spot on and the ambiance was just wonderful. We will be back!
google avatar

Jacque B.

Yelp
The food was amazing! We started with the beer cheese Brussel sprouts and it is a perfect starter. It is out of this world! Order it. You won't be sorry! For the Main dish, I chose the Gorgonzola Carbonara and the creamy Gorgonzola sauce over the pasta was rich and flavorful. My husband chose the steak and shrimp and according to him , it was excellent and cooked to perfection. We were out of towners, and as advised, made reservations in advance and so glad we did.
google avatar

Elizabeth N.

Yelp
This place has delicious food and a great vibe. I had their chicken masala very spicy and my husband had the bison ravioli with a side salad. They brought out the side salad at the same time they brought out the dinner plate. Would have been nice if they brought out the side salad first. Maybe needed to tell them that and not assumed it would have come out first. Pecan pie for dessert was tasty but would have wanted it to be a bit warmer. As far as drinks go, I ordered their martini of the day which was Bees Knees and it was good. The old fashioned was not balanced well. Overall we enjoyed our dinner and had a nice time.

Marsha H.

Yelp
Henry's always produces tasty food. The waitstaff is friendly and very helpful. It's a reliably warm and welcoming place for dinner. I think it's far better than the Chophouse or other restaurants downtown.
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
If you like horseradish get the steak sandwich!! The French onion soup was amazing. If you want pub food that is high quality, this is the place for you!! Friendly staff and a classic pub feel
google avatar

Barbara S.

Yelp
First restaurant meal in Loveland on our month long visit. Vietnamese grilled steak salad was the lunch special and was delicious- my husband had a German style Cuban that he loved as well as a French Onion Soup side. Another party member raved about their bacon blue cheese burger- my next meal at Henry's!
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
I decided to go here at 1 pm and it was a very good decision! Not too crowded and plenty of seating. The fish and chips were good but the tartar sauce has a slight sweet taste that was a little odd but I still liked it. The waitress was an absolute sweetheart! The orange chocolate cheesecake was really tasty!!
