Henry's

"The simplicity of the name is reflective of this laid-back bistro as a whole. It sits on a pretty pedestrianised lane and has a simple yet appealing interior, and chef-owner Henry runs it with passion and pride. Dishes are modern and original and include some interesting vegetarian options." - Michelin Inspector

I have just tried the breakfast at Henry’s. It was fantastic and I would definitely recommend you go and try it out. I will be back to taste the other dishes on the menu. The place is also dog friendly which is a bonus.

Definitely a fine dining place to try if you want something delicious. Each meal was curated for the season. They were balanced in flavour and the servers were educated on wine pairings for each dish. The place is small so booking is required but it had a beautiful atmosphere and the services was wonderful. It is pricy but you get what you pay for and you are paying for wonderful food in the centre of Bath.

We had been very much looking forward to our meal at Henry’s but sadly we’re a bit disappointed with our visit. The table we were given felt like there shouldn’t be one there, it was pushed up against the coffee machine and we spent most of the night with the serving staff cleaning glasses and grinding coffee stood looking over us which made it very hard to feel like you could have a conversation in private. It felt like they might have added the table last minute to enable them to take an extra booking? If so, I would suggest they don’t keep it, it’s not a good place to eat! The food itself was also quite disappointing: we had the seven course tasting menu, but of these seven courses; (i) one comprised of a single piece of bread which had started to go stale, (ii) one was a lone, rather sad looking scallop, (iii) one featured just two wafer thin slithers of tuna ceviche with a few mustard seeds on top; (iv) one was just a small cheese board that could have been bought at Tescos; and (v) the ‘main course’ of lamb, while quite nicely cooked, was also very small for a main, even for a tasting menu. The cheese and beetroot dish and chocolate tart with Szechuan custard were both very tasty and easily the two best things we ate all night. It would also have been nice if the serving staff had told us what we were eating when they gave it to us, they seemed to be a little confused and a bit fed up. We only knew what the food was by checking on our phones after it had been served. It also took over two and a half hours to work our way through the whole meal with very long waits between some of the courses, I think we were probably forgotten a couple of times. Overall we left rather disappointed, tired and still quite hungry! However, I do get the feeling that perhaps we might have just visited on an “off night”. Most of the other reviews seem very good and the pictures of food other people have posted also look better than what we had. So maybe give it a go and you’ll be luckier than we were!

We had the 7 course tasting menu, I had the farm & sea then my partner had the land option which we shared the lot. Thank God we did as it would have been an incredible shame to miss out on some of the dishes! Every single bite was truly incredible, so many levels of flavour and such perfect combinations, truly hats off to the chef. The wine pairing was such a highlight as well, some very unique wines that fitted perfectly with the dishes but were also devine on their own. The service completed the evening, it was so attentive but not at all in your face, they were both very knowledgeable on the dishes and the wines. They also added a really homely, welcoming vibe which was so refreshing. Far too many places doing this level of food have a element of snobbery which can be off putting but not these two, they made us feel so welcomed and created such a warm environ. Without a doubt would visit again and will be recommending to anyone and everyone!

I was looking forward to choosing from the land / sea or farm (Veg). We went for a 5 course tasting menu and were very well looked after and it was a great balanced menu. Not rushed out but with some real quality plates of food. Some creative flavours and styles (crab first course was lovely and the venison was perfect but would of loved the next size up. Sauce was great. Wine was lovely and good choice and a nice environment (not too noisy) well worth a visit for a nice evening out.

If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience in Bath, look no further than Henry’s restaurant Bath, a modern British restaurant that will leave your taste buds tingling and your heart content. From the moment you step inside, the elegant and sophisticated ambiance will take your breath away. The staff are friendly and attentive, making you feel welcomed and at ease. The star of the show, however, is undoubtedly the food. The seven-course menu is a gastronomic journey that will take you through the very best of modern British cuisine. Each dish is a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. From the delicate amuse-bouche to the sumptuous dessert, every course is a feast for the senses. The wine list is also something to behold. The white wine that was paired with our meal was simply exquisite - perfectly complementing the flavors of the food and elevating the entire experience. Overall, Henry’s restaurant is an exceptional dining experience that should not be missed. The food, the wine, and the service all come together to create a truly unforgettable evening. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough and I can't wait to return.

We visited Henry's on the weekend and were blown away by the food! We opted for the 5 course farm & sea tasting menu which was stunning and worth every penny👌🏻Whether you are a foodie or not, the restaurant is such a gorgeous little spot for a date night or special occasion and if you want all the quality of a Michelin place but without any pretentiousness or overly formal vibes then Henry's nails it! The setting is intimate and relaxed, the staff were lovely, friendly and attentive but most importantly every course of the meal was incredible 😍🙌🏻 We loved it and would definitely visit again 💛⭐

Beautiful food with very considered service in a lovely atmosphere. We had the 5 course menu and there were some amazing flavours and textures. I could have eaten slightly larger portions while other members of our party were fine with theirs.
