"Herbivore Indian Cuisine is our designated Georgetown spot for a delicious meal when we’re in a hurry (and may or may not be double parked down the street). Ordering takeout at the counter is usually speedy, though if you’ve got more time, you can opt for a sit-down meal. Hang by the bay window and people-watch the Wisconsin Ave jaywalkers, or head to the back of the converted rowhouse where there’s a spacious outdoor seating area that’s typically quiet and a good place to chill with a book. We’re big fans of the velvety paneer tikka masala and perfectly crispy kari pakora. If you’re feeling under the weather, the savory chicken soup will be downright soul-restorative and much better than anything coming out of a can." - Mekita Rivas

My friend had come here a couple months ago and said it was amazing. We were walking around with today and decided to drop in for something small. I was not disappointed, the food tasted homemade and the ambiance was so cozy and comforting. We were met with waters, menus and instructions on where to order. If you’re in the mood for some delicious Indian food that tastes fresh, healthy, and like it was made by a loved one you need to stop by.

This place is absolutely breathtaking. The food is amazing and reminds me of a good home cooked meal. We had brunch here and I can not praise this place enough. The service, atmosphere, and food are very inviting. I will be bringing my friends and family here :) hope you enjoy too

First visit to Herbivore in Georgetown, nice small cute place. Very neat and clean restaurant even the restrooms. Food part we ordered Aloo tikki chaat, Chicken seekh kabab and veg machurian. Aloo tikko chaat was good and so the veg manchurian. Chicken seekh kabab was ok, not that good, as lack of spices and too much of bellpeppers and grill onions on side. Green Chutney was horrible watery and was lacking the flavors. How can you get wrong on chutneys. Rest its worth a try.Sunday parking is free in DC which will save you lot of time finding a spot.

I had an incredible dining experience here! The portions are generous, ensuring you leave completely satisfied. The food is absolutely delicious—packed with rich, bold flavors that keep you coming back for more. But a word of advice: if you’re feeling adventurous and decide to try the spicy dishes, be prepared! The heat is intense and will blow your mind (in the best way possible). A must-visit spot for food lovers who appreciate both great taste and a serious kick!

Really enjoyed having dinner here last week. I ordered the Aloo Gobi and Chicken Pakora. Both dishes were tasty and good portions. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I’ll be headed back to here again soon.

The name herbivore and the rating of 4.8 stars stood out to me, as my family is health conscious. However, we felt disappointed by the food quality and overall experience. The restaurant is small and well patronized, and the staff was friendly, but the food was overpriced, plus you must pay at the counter and tip in advance. The food was prepared quickly but served on paper plates with plastic cutlery and cups. The food did not taste like it was prepared with fresh ingredients but primarily pre-packaged and/or frozen ingredients. I would expect lower prices or higher quality food.

The food was very well cooked and the service was very quick. There was a 15 min wait on Saturday around 9 pm for us. One thing I would want to point is that, I think this catered towards non-Indians so the spice palette here is very toned down and might not quite hit the chord with people expecting some smashing Desi food. We ordered Pakora, Manchurian for apps and saag paneer, malai kofta for entrees.

The food and service in this tiny Georgetown restaurant. Loved the chaat, the saag mushroom, bhindi masala, and baingan bharta. Other dishes were less notable. Will definitely go back. The price point can’t be beat in this area, and is related to the plastic cutlery and paper plates.
