"At the foot of Cathédrale St Front, this restaurant that pays homage to the fictional detective occupies a 16C room with a pale stone vaulted ceiling. Thanks to his little grey cells, Poirot would no doubt have detected the sincerity behind the deliciously revamped recipes based on produce from the exceptional terroir of the Dordogne: terrine of semi-cooked foie gras and rhubarb pickles with Monbazillac; pan-fried magret de canard; tarte Tatin with salted butter caramel ice cream. A warm welcome and dynamic service." - Michelin Inspector

We've been here several times and it never disappoints. It's all the little extras that make it special. Amuse-bouches packed with flavour are always amazing. There's only about 35 seats so I'd recommend booking because it's always been full when we've been. We generally pay about 30 - 40 EUR each for 3 courses (alcohol not included!) depending upon which menu we choose. Enjoy!

The restaurant, located in a quiet side street in the very picturesque city of Perigreaux, offers a great menu with unbeatable value/money proportion - and it’s cited by Michelin. At lunch time, it was very busy. As such, we had to wait a fair bit even just to receive menus. At least 20 minutes. When we asked, we got told that “there are no more menus”. So the start wasn’t the best. But the food was worth the wait. For around 25 euros (drinks excluded), we had a choice of appetizer (veggies were very fresh) and a main (we went for puree and meat). The final price, under 60 euros for two (including drinks) was extremely fair for the ambiance and quality. So the only downside is to be ready to wait at lunch.

Very good food, Service was perfect and the ambience is cosy. Just a bit loud when full.

Like the name of restaurant, as we are the fans of Hercule Poirot! And, we really enjoyed the lunch there today! The location is closed to the cathedral, it’s given a bit mystery when you find it is in an medieval-time alley. We had a set menu of the restaurant specialty and a set menu of Périgueux, glasses of monbazillac wine, and fruit dessert. The food quality is good, the food presentation is beautiful! For people who don’t know much French like us, the staff are helpful and friendly, we really appreciate it. All in all then, I recommend this lovely restaurant .

We enjoyed a great lunch with cream of mushrooms as an « amuse bouche », red beet salad, scallops, duck and local chicken.
