"Herd Provisions is a Wagener Terrace neighborhood favorite. The regular menu offers an all-American burger with pickles, lettuce, onion, plus secret sauce, but on Mondays, the restaurant tries out new versions, like a recent special with barbecue sauce, crispy onions, arugula, pickled peppers, provolone, and burger patty mixed with Neuske’s ground bacon." - Erin Perkins
"Try to skip the burger and go for a soft shell crab at Herd Provisions. This version comes with Santee gold rice, Creole sauce, pickled okra, and a spring onion salad" - Erin Perkins

"It looks like the former Ark Lounge space at 106 Grove St. will finally reopen as butcher shop/burger spot Herd Provisions soon. The restaurant has been on a hiring spree since April, so an opening date is imminent. Herd Provisions comes from Virginia-based Leaping Waters Farm owner Alec Bradford. The farm raises Ancient White Park cattle, heritage breed turkeys, and a variety of pigs. Bradford brings this products, as well as a restaurant to Grove Street. To accomplish this, he partnered with chef Aaron Swersky, a former fishmonger for Abundant Seafood and cook at FIG. The establishment first announced its arrival in Charleston in 2017. To gain interest around town, Swersky has done a number of pop-ups, as well as manned a food truck, selling burgers, fries, poutine, and more. The chef says that Herd Provisions will test service with a few family and friends nights, but should be ready to go in early May." - Erin Perkins
