After over 100 live shows, I can positively say that the security at this venue was the worst I have experienced.
Security had been consistently turning guests away and telling them not to queue until the evening before I arrived. I arrived at 2pm and they reluctantly started to let people queue around the back of the building but made sure to tell us that 4 people who were there at 9am were given a wristband before being sent away and told to come back at 4, meaning they were allowed to join the front of our queue.
The issue is, things need to be fair. Not one rule for 4, and another for everyone else. Had this been an option for all, anyone who wanted to be at the front would’ve arrived at 9am to get a “skip to the front of the queue right before doors” wristband.
Fast forward to 6pm, the 4 with wristbands turned up right before doors opened. For all of us sat waiting in the cold since 2pm, it wasn’t a happy experience and left many feeling cheated as we’d all bought the same ticket and now we were being told that these 4 were “on the guest list”. The 4 people said they were not in fact on the guest list and had just arrived early. Security were rude and very unhelpful, refusing to listen to us. A black woman with braids was consistently talking over anyone who had an issue and just all in all was so unpleasant to speak to.
Other people in the queue had arrived before 9am and were sent away without wristbands so it was just confusing why these 4 were allowed to jump the queue for arriving early and the rest of us were penalised.
Safe to say, many of us likely won’t be returning to this venue unless the security improves and is able to treat all guests fairly.
