"The classic steakhouse, known as a celebrity magnet in its heyday, will return to its original home at 782 NW 42nd Avenue with a refreshed design and menu. While prime cuts remain the focus, the kitchen plans to incorporate Latin American, Caribbean, and Mediterranean influences. The 250-seat restaurant will feature indoor and outdoor dining spaces and a private dining room for events." - Olee Fowler

I really don't know why, but in my latter visits to restaurants I decided to pick a few of Miami staple Cuban restaurant, even against mine own advise. This places have stayed in their own little world noticing little of what is going around them some has done better than others ones. Hereford is one that has changed very little since my last visit in the late 1990's. What I saw was a place that needed updating both in menu and decoration The server was quite upset that the restaurant was closing(understandable) but that was not what I wanted to hear on my last outing before being in total quarantine. The palomilla steak lunch special for $14.00 was totally worth it. The New York Steak for $28.00 could use some improvement from taste to presentation.

Google
I’ve been here couple time. It’s an excellent place to go just for a beer at the bar or to eat. Their special lunch is just AWESOME. And their service is above and beyond. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Google
Delicious! Excellent service! I especially liked the salad and house dressing, it was the best salad I've ever had. The steak was seasoned to perfection and the dessert.

Google
Great food, ambiance and service. I've been coming here for more than 20 years and have never been disappointed.

Incredible dining experience. The service was top notch & the food was extraordinary! If you want an amazing steak experience, stop by and give them your business.

Had the 16 ounce butterfly Angus steak. It was absolutely fabulous. Staff great and the restaurant had a nice family feel to it.

Hereford Grill is an excellent option if you have to take a flight in the Miami airport and you are craving some good meat with a touch of Latin flavor. You can make a quick pit stop and enjoy their flavorful dishes. Once you arrive the server greets you with arepas, bread and Nata. All of it is wonderful. My usual pick here is the punta de Cadera with Congri, boiled cassava, salad with avocado, palmito and watercress. You can’t go wrong here. They also serve Presidente beer which is an excellent Pilsner beer from Dominican Republic, they serve it ice cold.... DELICIOUS. After you enjoy your meal don’t forget to ask for dessert recommendations, my personal favorite is the bread pudding, the flavor is perfect, is not super sweet, it is just right. The restaurant has an older feel, it has not been renovated but it feels right. The people there seems to be a bit older, I think they could do a bit more to attract a younger crowd. The food is goo, so why not? I heard the have a piano bar which is worth going to, I will do my best to come back to See it.

Google
Thank you for wonderful experiences at Hereford Grill. I have tried some of their dishes and they are exquisite, I miss the live music, I really liked the piano it was divine!. Today I was for lunch with a friend and we both felt great, the portions are still very generous, as a starter they serve arepitas and hot bread accompanied by cheese and cream. What detail! It is a great place to celebrate birthdays, a romantic dinner, business or family lunch / dinner. This restaurant is charming, the attention is excellent, the meat is fabulous. Thank you very much for making us spend pleasant moments.

Yelp
Fantastic, I have not been back in my country for over 15 years but today I got very close, perhaps only my countryman will understand the filling wen you take a bite of a little fried arepa with a slice of queso blanco, you will be transported to a better place, where you do not have a waiter, you have the entire staff at your service, just like it was at the Tiuna, glass of wine, fresh French bread, remember the palmitos, berros and avocado salad? well they have it and to top it all up, punta trasera, definitely vuelta y vuelta, cook to perfection, this afternoon my wife and I had a great time, we appreciate you guys taking us back to wonderful memories and the owner is there to make sure everything goes smoothly and it did, thank you again, will be back soon... PS: don't forget to try the homemade tres leches, excellent!...

Yelp
This restaurant has a good location close to the Miami International Airport, easy to park with valet parking. The quality of the food is superior : the meat is usually right in your face and you can pick your own piece! The flavors are measured with the right balance! This is a place with white tablecloths and water glasses, which is kind of Chic nowadays The Service is one of a kind, professional and they tend to do all the necessary to make you feel happy and confortable! The Executive Menu is a secret gem in the city not just for the price but the quality and and the variety of options. The caffe is really good! Please enjoy it ! And is the perfect place to a business lunch, client meeting and family reunion!!!! You will be pleased

Yelp
So why don't I give this place a better rating even though the food is pretty good well the service sucks. They had no hostess during busy lunch hours so my group was standing around for about 12 minutes before a waiter passed by and told us sit wherever you want. That was the initial interaction then when I placed my order the waiter looked more interested in walking around aimlessly than taking my order and it took FOREVER to get our food. Very sad because the food is truly good but I won't be going back because I can eat the same way and get better service elsewhere.

Yelp
Generally, a restaurant that gets a five stars ratinG from me has to be really good in their taste and presentation, customer service, and the cleanliness of the establishment, particularly the restroom. This place has met all those criterion. We had a party of 7 and everyone loved their food Ann's the wine. The steaks were so juicy and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were delicious. The deserts were addicting. The wine. If the day was 40% off that day and it was very good. The waters were friendly and helpful. The environment was awesome, particularly the setting and the music. The restroom was clean and smell good. Our team will definitely be visiting this place regularly if they continue to live up to this reputation and expectations. If there one area for improvement, it would the mixed vegetables. The broccoli was a bit overcooked and bland. A little seasoning and a little undercooked would have much flavor.

Yelp
Took a stroll and stumbled upon this nice steakhouse. And lucky for me it was lunch time,I had the grilled fish with lobster sauce, potato, and mixed veggies. It also came with chicken soup, bread, and some really good corn cakes with two kinds of cheese!! Bomb.Com and all for under $20 to ask if I'd ever return when in Florida is a silly question, because I'd answer Hell Yeah!!

Adriana M.

Yelp
So disappointed! This restaurant deserves 5 stars because of the Excellent food. However, they get fewer stars because they are always closed!!!! I'm so upset. Saturday's closed and weeknights closed. So basically only opens for lunch.

Yelp
What a find! Was staying close by at the Crowne Plaza looking for a good place within walking distance. Based on the reviews, we decided to give it a try and are glad we did!!! Nice decor, very casual, waitstaff very friendly with great suggestions. Though they didn't understand what gluten free was and we had difficulties getting them to understand what a member of our party could not eat. Once we got past that issue, everything was smooth and delicious. I took my cue from the waiter, who might have been one of the owners. We ordered a pitcher of the sangria, and it was fantastic, just the right amount of sweetness to make it a perfect and subtle drink. Ordered the French Onion soup at the recommendation of the waiter, and though I thought it might be a chicken broth based, it was not and it was the traditional French Onion soup with melted cheese, bread and hot, bubbling soup. Made for an exceptional beginning to this meal. The waiter also highly recommended the Butterfly New York Strip Steak and it came perfectly prepared at a cool medium-rare, exactly as ordered. Seasoned and flavored to perfection. Paired with a root vegetable, maybe turnips and rice with black beans. Delicious and extremely filling. Like a glutton, we got the Coconut Flan to share amongst the three of us. As if we weren't stuffed enough from the appetizers and entrees we each got. The Flan was light and very good. The dessert cart had some outstanding choices and there were literally several excellent dessert choices for me to consider, but just way too stuffed to consider. Reasonably priced for what we got, how it was prepared, the attention to detail. I highly recommend that you check out this amazing Argentinian steak house. In my opinion, it ranks right up there with top steak houses around the country, with a flair.

Yelp
First and last visit! Horrible customer service! The food is good don't get me wrong but if I have to come to a restaurant to get treated like trash I rather go somewhere else. Slowest service ever as well; even though we went during lunch hour the place wasn't full so I don't understand why their service was extremely slow. They asked us for our drinks but never got them - we ask to ask 3 times because the baby kept asking for water. All in all, the food was good but not AMAZING to make another trip here. Shitty service is not worth coming! Stay away!

Ahindris V.

Yelp
Steakhouse. We've been wanting to visit this restaurant for a few years and I must say it was what we expected and more. Place is kind of quaint and cozy. They serve South American style cuts, with latin style side dishes and the desserts are to die for. My cappuccino was very delicious too. Service was excellent. Valet parking available.

Yelp
Hereford Grill is one of those locations that you are hesitant to walk in to as a Miami local due to the outdated facade. I swear I thought I was stepping back in time to the Cocaine Cowboys days of Miami, IT WAS AWESOME. On to the service and food portion which of course matters the most! Service was a bit slow upon our arrival. I admit, they took what seemed like 5 years to finally acknowledge our presence. Luckily that only occurred in the beginning and the rest of the experience was seamless. The best part? They roll around a classic dessert tray like back in the 90s. The options on that tray all looked DELICIOUS, but we just couldn't handle life from how full we were. Started off with a caprese... not much to it. You can't mess up tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella cheese even if you tried. My boyfriend wasn't enthused... but it was as expected. I opted for the French onion soup. It was perfectly coated with a layer of super healthy (not) cheese. Main course - I saw a 24oz. Bone-in rib eye on the menu for $48 (half the price of South Beach) so I knew that was the winner. We asked our server to please cut it in half and he honestly went above and beyond. We had our steak butterflied, it came neatly portioned on two separate plates AND the server let us choose two of our own sides (all this was charged under the one plate). This genuinely made me happy. Instead of only allowing us two sides for the entire entree as per usual, they gave us a perfectly portioned amount of food... we were happy. Two glasses of wine and a near food coma later - I would definitely go back and that says a lot! Hereford Grill is a total win. Total spent: $100 even.

Yelp
VALUE, VALUE, VALUE... Had a business lunch with 4 associates. What a great value their daily Executive Menu. Food (mostly Venezuelan style) was very tasty and very abundant. They serve (together with the bread) small warm arepas with a cream and cheese that are delicious.. Ate too many of these and could not finish lunch... Valet parking is very friendly and only $4 (there is also self-park on the parking garage). The service initially was disorganized but recovered fast.

Greg H.

Yelp
I headed here with some colleagues for lunch today. I was not disappointed. Everybody except me the gringo had the New York strip and I had the fillet. Everything was cooked to perfection we enjoyed the soft baked bread and arepas with the spicy red and green tomatillo sauce. Tostones , sweet plantains, Moros and mashed potatoes were all delicious. It's easy to be a little apprehensive once first approaching the location since it is in a very busy area and once inside there is some construction on going on what seems to be some skylights in the dining room. That is not holding back the restaurant and they're very attentive staff from putting out great food.

Eduardo W.

Yelp
Excellent food best stakes in Miami I recommend punta trasera en plato caliente The guasacaca is the best as well as the arepitas Going there for more than 20 years

Ana A.

Yelp
The first time and it will be my last time going there. The reservation was made for 9 people and they sat us at a table for 4. We had to be constantly calling the waiters attention for basic things. They were unfriendly. The food was okay but super expensive. When asked to separate the bill, We had to go to the computer to do it ourselves. I would give zero starts but yelp won't let me.

Monica B.

Yelp
Hereford Grill. Impecable setting, amazing service by gracious and fun well trained staff. Pure tradition of a well designed place, great lighting, handsome bar area and beautiful life music by amazing pianist. Fantastic experience every time. Food ...A+ just delicious!

Willy S.

Yelp
This place was suggested by my hotel nearby. I have since told the hotel they are crazy to recommend this dump. I was there last night 10-10-19. The placed smelled horribly and their steaks were at best a 3 out of 10. All I can say, if you want to take a trip to the late 80's, this place is for you. Me? I would rather eat Waffle House!!!

Jordan N.

Yelp
I had the $12 media punta trasera which was good and came with two sides - (picked yuca hervida (boiled) and maduros (ripe plantains)). The yuca was delicious and with chimichurri (better made than many other places). Plantains were delicious too. Lunch specials are still available on weekdays - but for soup/salad choices, go with the soup. Salad is lackluster but the hen soup is tasty! And the chicken (bone in) is far much better than what you'd get at typical Latin restaurant (which would be the pollo a la plancha). Good prices, nice atmosphere, good service. Great option to dine if you can't get far from the airport (especially if the traffic going into Coral Gables is backed up on Le Jeune)!

Tatiana E.

Yelp
Exceptional service that pairs perfectly with their amazing food. This is a great place for lunch, just as long as you can afford an hour or more here. Service can be a bit spotty so definitely plan accordingly. They offer a corporate price lunch menu during weekdays, which is always a delight. You are given your choice of soup or salad and a main course (fish, chicken or steak). Since I work next door, this is always a great option for a girl's lunch on Fridays. Great place to spend time catching up with one another in an exquisite ambiance.

Alex G.

Yelp
This is quintessential Miami with a Venezuelan flair. Ceramic tile floors, white linen tablecloths, way too many tables, and old fashioned music that makes no sense. Steak is the star here, but it's a fairly diverse menu. Service is polite but maybe a bit too "laid back" if you are in a hurry (or hungry). Bread and mini-arepas were delicious and served piping hot. A big YUM. Watercress, hearts of Palm and avocado was enough for two people and super tasty- another big YUM. Steak itself was incredible - Rump Roast on a sizzling plate was so tender and flavorful I can't describe it. Amazing! While this isn't a Capital Grille, this is a Miami-unique steak house that hasn't changed in years and years. And that's fine with me. Great steak, great sides, great salads, and a mellow old school environment. Check it out. Great

Patricia M.

Yelp
I love this place since their inauguration. I have been coming here since they opened their doors. The food is amazing. The owners are hands on. The attention is fascinating. I really feel at home here. There is music, good food and wine.

Mary e.

Yelp
Dinner with a large group on a weeknight. From so many cuts of beef to choose from I went with the 8oz New York, which was the perfect size. It was tasty but just a bit over cooked (I asked for Med rare and got medium). The sides were good: baked potato and steamed veggies, although there is quite a lot to choose from. Bread was delicious as were the mini quesadillas that accompany the bread. Service was good except that I had to ask for extra bread 3 times before I got it. But my water glass was constantly being filled and attentive waiters were conveniently always close by. The decor is elegant and the music was just right (although there was no piano player). A satisfying meal for sure. Valet parking is convenient and only 4 bucks, which is better than having to walk nearly a block to the parking garage.

Isaac P.

Yelp
Best latin steakhouse in Miami, they bring you the steak on a warm plate with an amazing variety of sides. Starters are also amazing (arepitas con nata y guasacaca) among others. I love the watercress with avocado and palms salad. Make sure to leave some space for dessert.

Gary G.

Yelp
Very nice restaurant and had live piano music when we were there on Saturday night. I had the chicken medallions and pepper sauce and the cream of corn soup. Both were very good dishes. The only problem that we have is the waiter brought out my soup and my associate's soup, but mix them up. After the waiter came back to check on us, we had him bring out new soups for us since we both had taken bites out soups. Overall service and food was really good. Would eat here again.

Jen F.

Yelp
Very nice steak restaurant with beautiful ambient! Service was excellent, we got treated very well and food was also very enjoyable. Also they had a very romantic live music. Prices are fair. We will go there again! I would give them 6 stars!

Reinaldo A.

Yelp
This steak restaurant has its origin in Venezuela, here you will find different types of cuts "100% Certified Angus Beef" prepared on the grill. The food and service are good, but the decor looks like 1984, so it's up to you to decide whether to eat well or look for a place that pleases more to your eyes than to your taste. Do not forget to try the "guasacaca" (similar to guacamole, but more liquid) and the fried arepitas with Guayanés cheese. What we liked the most: Hereford Rump 14 Oz

Mark C.

Yelp
Don't waste your money... You will get a better steak at Texas Road House or Outback. Way over priced for the quality of meat and service.

Shelby A.

Yelp
I have always liked this place. Great atmosphere and attentive service. One complaint though, the vegetables tasted like plastic and I could not eat them. I believe they might use boil-in bags which is leaving a distinct taste of plastic.

Alan C.

Yelp
Everything about this place is fantastic! The rump steak (Punta trasera) on a hot plate is an authentic take on Venezuelan steak. The new york is delicious as well and very moderately priced too. All the sides are fenomenal especially the fried yuca and the palm, avocado and watercress salad. The deserts are great too. Especially the flan. Price per value, it may be one of the best deals in Miami. Don't miss it.

M B.

Yelp
Superb quality food and customer service! Great teamwork among the staff. A pleasurable atmosphere. Felix has the establishment's best interest in heart!

Ken M.

Yelp
Whenever I'm in Miami I'll be stopping by this place. Hands down one of the best Steak Houses I've been to and I've been to a lot. Spectacular food, great atmosphere, superb service. Pianist was fantastic and really added to the experience. If I could give 6 stars I would. Pricey, but well worth it...go on, splurge a bit, you deserve it.

Vanessa I.

Yelp
Came here on Mother's Day and had to wait about an hour for a table after being asked if we had a reservation after being told we didn't need one when we called. The food was pretty good... The steak was devine. I had the "rump steak" which was amazing. Juicy and soft. The sides were pretty good as well. Didn't try the dessert as they had them sitting in a dessert cart uncovered traveling the entire restaurant.

Nena V.

Yelp
Miami has good food that's for sure and this one is my to go when I'm in town Gotta love the lunch specials and when I arrived too late for the special or I'm craving good meat .. Well " punta trasera " (-half is enough for me) is delicious.. Lost of flavor and juiciness...hmmm While you wait you get this arepas with nata and cheese and bread .. And huasacaca.. You will manage to keep yourself busy while the main course arrive. In the afternoon there is live piano .. I love it and recommend this little corner with lots of flavor ... Service can be too good ... And some times just some times ...not that good

Daniela M.

Yelp
Two words: Miserable service! The only reason I'll give it stars is because although the service is tje worst the food is Ok. The place could be so much more with just a bit of service, the waiters are rude and not helpful, its definitely not worth it to go out and try and have a nice time to be mistreated. Two stars is being nice

Bruce S.

Yelp
LOVED IT. Went before a Marlins game. Shrimp cocktail A+ and my lamb chops WERE the best I can remember eating. Steamed veggies, mashed potatoes fine. Pricey and worth it, would def go back again.

Jana A.

Yelp
I used to come here a lot and loved the place, today I got disappointed food was good but the service was not the same, the servers were kind debating who was gonna bring us the bread, and the desser table guy was coughing a lot while offering them.

Calvin C.

Yelp
One of my favorite place for New York Steak / Bistec de Churrasco (available in 8, 12, or 16 oz). Best price for steak. This is one of the few places where your steak will come out the way you ordered it, not undercooked or overcooked. The complementary arepas with cheese are to kill for. Nice fancy place conveniently located off 836 and Le Jeune road. Usually there is a pianist in the evenings. Save room for dessert. Must try the "Flamed Pancakes with Milk Candy / Panquecas de Dulce de Leche Flambeadas". Its a pancake with Dulce de Leche in the middle with two scoops of vanilla ice cream surrounded by rum on fire. :D

Jan N.

Yelp
Down a star. How sad. I've always liked this place, but last night's experience left me disappointed. The meat was still good, but the sides and desserts were NOT what they've been in the past. Mashed potatoes and mixed veggies? Nothing wrong with those, but when they're placed in front of you and you think "cafeteria food" (in my niece's own words), that's not a good thing. And when they actually taste like cafeteria food, you know it's over. The family and I ordered several desserts to share. I tried 3 of them - eh. Aaaand I was surprised they didn't have Tres Leches! What up with that?! I'm sure I'll be back since my dad loves to bring us all here on holidays, so hopefully this 3 star will shoot back up to a 4 star rating!

DK C.

Yelp
EXCELLENT SERVICE. Good food good people good environment clean ... great simple family place...love the hot sauce.

Giraldo G.

Yelp
Excellent place to drink a great Sangria the bartender Felix is very nice and explain us the menu when We have questions. The give us arepitas ( little corn cake) with bread cheese and Nata for free appetizer was great. The atmosphere is classic but very clean and friendly. They have live piano music that make a very cozy and beautiful night. The first time We tried the punta trasera was delicious that meat melted in your mouth. This night We come only for the sangria and appetizers. We want to tried the empanadas (beef pastries) and deditos de queso ( cheese fingers) this place is a gem hidden in the le jeune road. If you want to spend a good time with great food and excellent service you need to try this restaurant. Like us We see good reviews in Yelp and We are very glad to find this place. Take place to the bar and enjoy a relaxing night!!!

Nataly S.

Yelp
Foods great i like having my lunch here service is good here and i love it more because you the movies right there so dinner and a movie!

Leilani D.

Yelp
So here's the deal: *This place looks like it's still stuck in the 80's. It's like it was once a nice restaurant, and then it was frozen in time, and now here we are. There's nothing in the way of ambience here. *The service is also amazingly slow - even during a weekday lunch when you assume that most people are on their lunch hour. However, even if you order a steak medium rare/medium - be prepared to wait. *They offer lunch specials, but if you want any steak specials at this steak house - you won't find them here. And if you do order a steak at lunchtime it'll cost you, I think the cheapest one was around $20? maybe more? So why not 1 star? Because the aforementioned expensive lunch steak I ordered was AMAZING. I couldn't stop talking about how delicious it was once it finally arrived. It was simple, yet so flavorful. Perfect. I could go on... It's a shame really because the hardest thing about running a restaurant should be cooking up better food than anyone else. Hereford Grill has actually mastered this, and failed to do any of the easier things right. I'd love to eat this steak again, but I don't want to have anything to do with this hot mess.

Ari J.

Yelp
I went here today for a lunch meeting. Parking was easy enough in the ocean bank garage. I think I also saw $4 valet. When I walked in at noon the place was empty. They brought warm bread and some cream cheese type spread which was good. The waiter quickly took our order. We both had the New York strip with congri and boiled yucca. Food came Fairly quick and it was good. This place is not your typical Miami steak house though it has the prices like it was. I have been to Prime, STK, Flemings, Christys, Mortons and those are have more of a real steak house feel. This place felt like a fancier and more expensive "la Carreta". I give it 4 stars because the food is not bad, it had flavor and the yucca was just right. Waiters don't seem to know English but were very attentive when it came to refilling our glasses. By the time I left at 1:30 the place was packed but not too loud or uncomfortable.

Katherine M.

Yelp
Place is very consistent which is why I'm giving it 5 stars. Their arepitas are to die for, and the food is always great! Service is a tiny bit on the slower side, but quality of food makes up for it. If you're a steak lover, you'll be glad you came.

Daniel G.

Yelp
Awesome lunch spot, although a bit pricy it's great to take some clients or even a significant other. If you don't get full off the arepas & bread that are to die for, order the boneless half chicken, delicious! Definitely recommend it for lunch! If you want something for dessert have the flan de coco!

Fernan A.

Yelp
Great steak house, venezuelan style, sides are very good especially the fried yuca. Very good value.

Mitchell M.

Yelp
After driving past this place for 20 plus years and wondering how this off beat location for a steakhouse has continued on, a client took me here with the promise that it's very good. And surprisingly had a very good meal here. Started off with these mini corn discs which were very addictive. Followed with a very fresh tomato and avocado salad. For my main course had a Latin (thin) cut 6 ounce filet mignon which was excellent (and cooked perfectly) with a great (non microwaved) baked potato. The steak was so good that I wanted to order another one (and I loved a thin cut since I am much more accustom to a large bone in style). Service also was excellent. I will try this place again and if they are consistent then I will bump up my rating to 5 stars.

S F.

Yelp
Our expectations were kind of low for a place near the airport hotel, but we wanted something convenient. However we were happy with our dinner. Steaks were very good as was the grilled chicken. Chicken Milanese was not as successful. Stick with the grilled items. Plantains were quite good. Service was prompt.
