Google
Was in the area and looking for ice cream on a hot summer day and ran into this place!! Very cool little shop, customer service was great! The lady me and my mom met was very nice and told us all about the layout of the shop. Huge selection and vegan flavors, as my mom is dairy free. Ice cream was amazing, highly recommend!

Camille H.

Google
Here is the scoop is awesome! The owner and staff were so nice, there were cookies, cake slices, ice cream, sorbet, and italian ice. I had their summer breeze drink, made with the blueberry pomegranate and strawberry lemonade sorbet. Sat outside and enjoyed that, then went back in and bought a cookies and cream ice cream cone. This place is good and I will be back!

Google
Oh my goodness! Not only do they have delicious vegan ice cream and regular ice cream, that cake box is amazing!! That Red Velvet cake is absolutely delicious! My husband doesn’t care for Red Velvet cake but I put a fork full in his mouth and he changed his mind about This one! Whew! I really didn’t want to share it. 😄🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

Google
Absolutely amazing experience, I’ll be back! Staff was nice and patient. I came in 30 min prior to closing and still wasn’t rushed. (I didn’t look up the hours prior). I had a milkshake and a sundae. Flavors are really good and easy to mix and match. The graham crack flavor they had was actually really good and their chocolate flavors were well balanced. My coworker gets their beef patties and says they are super good. You can tell it’s a small business in the best way. I recommend it!!!

Dana D.

Google
My favorite place I got ice cream during my vacation in DC - I went a few times and every time was excellent. The graham cracker one was to DIE for. Wish I had an ice cream place like this where I live!!

Eric B.

Google
We had high expectations for this justifiably loved place. It did not disappoint. Best rum raisin ice cream I’ve had. Georgia Peach was good too. But the banana pudding may have been the highlight.

Cedric Bridgewater J.

Google
I went in tonight and Smyah and Brynna really took care of me. I barely made it in before they started closing. I let them know I'm visiting, and leaving tomorrow. They patiently waited for me to order. They were so nice, helpful and welcoming. AND the ice cream (birthday cake, salted caramel truffle and southern peach), pound cake and coconut pineapple cake and a chocolate chip cookie were ALL amazing. Great people, great desserts. I highly recommend it.

Brenna C.

Google
Hands down the BEST Banana Pudding in DC!!! Amazing customer service, great atmosphere, Black Woman-Owned and tons of fresh ice cream flavors and other treats (banana pudding, cakes, brownies, pies, etc.) + great hot dogs and Jamaican patties! Super reasonable prices and always the freshest quality! My only "complaint" would be they have odd hours, so make sure you check their hours before going - but definitely go!

Yelp
Sunday 6/22/2025 I've had this spot on my list ever since my dad told me about it a year or 2 ago. It's a black-owned spot, which is always great to see, and I became very intrigued by the many different items they had. Sadly, when I went nearly all the items I was hyped for were unavailable. (unavailable items I wanted: double chocolate fudge ice cream, banana pudding ice cream, mango ice cream, banana pudding, pound cake, carrot cake, and jerk chicken patty) I was able to sample the strawberry flavor and the strawberry cheesecake flavor for my limit of 2 samples and got a large 3-scoop cup of cookies n cream & cinnamon churro $6.95. - The cinnamon churro ice cream was my favorite flavor. The cinnamon is present and comes through to deliver enjoyable flavors to your taste buds. - The cookies n cream ice cream was alright. Nothing impressive or special about it. - The strawberry ice cream was cool but didn't do much for me. - The strawberry cheesecake was alright, but it kinda tasted freezer-burned and/or icy. Overall, the ice cream is solid, and I would surely be interested in returning it if the items I want are in stock. -- For more FOOD content, follow me on Instagram: @issa.cheatday

Yelp
You want the scoop?! Well, this place is an authentic Black woman owned business! I'm a first time customer here to say that this place has won me over! Very helpful staff, cute ice parlor vibes and decor..what's not to like! First, I can only indulge in dairy free products so while the selections here were few, the choice that I made was surprisingly shocking-all cashew milk are not enjoyable lol. I ordered the raspberry cheesecake ice cream and honey, after one bite, I thought that I was eating dairy because it was THAT creamy and good! Filled with flavor and delicious to the last drop, I thoroughly enjoyed it on a sugar cone. But here is where I laugh to myself because I sat outside, enjoyed a delicious ice cream and decided to then try a patty lol yes! I ordered one of the curry chicken patty and as a native Island gal, this place knows how to blend their flavors. Those patties were buttery soft and filled with flavor inside-ENJOYED IT! Would I return? YES! I do hope that they expand their vegan flavors but yes yes yes! It's hot in the District, stop by local and enjoy a well deserved treat.

Yelp
If you're looking for a sweet treat in the DC area, you MUST stop by Here's the Scoop. Their motto is "bringing the community together one treat at a time" and they are doing just that. Despite the shop being small they have a large variety of options for you. This includes ice cream, brownies, cookies, pound cakes, ice cream and my all time favorite banana pudding. I've had a lot of banana pudding in my lifetime so for this to be my favorite says something (don't tell my grandma I told you that lol). I even love that they offer single serving banana pudding in the perfect size container so that you can enjoy without over indulging. Check out Here's the Scoop, it's right next to the historical Howard University. You will not be disappointed and may just end up spending $20+ every single time you go because it's that good. Support this Black owned and women owned business :)

Yelp
I really loved the s'mores ice cream here! They had a unique graham cracker base with a marshmallow ribbon and larger chunks of chocolate that really did capture the toastiness of s'mores. I topped it with their delicious fudge, and I felt like it was a really great take on a seasonal flavor. The ice cream was rich and creamy (my preferred style!) and ordering was smooth. It's a tiny store (it can only fit a few people at a time), and there's only a table and a couple of chairs outside, so I would plan to order to go. I was interested to see that they also sell Jamaican patties and cakes! I really want to come back and try their sweet potato cake now. I would definitely recommend checking out their ice cream if you're nearby! The flavors rotate, so there will always be something new.

Yelp
Cute little ice cream shop off of Georgia Ave! They have vegan options and also empanadas. If you're in a rush, don't go here because they only had one staff member working. I enjoyed my ice cream a lot and it felt like a good deal only being $5.50 for two scoops.
google avatar

Kelsii D.

Yelp
It's a quaint little shop near Howard University. The staff was lovely and although it was a tight squeeze it was packed. I had a scoop of chocolate and a scoop of cookie dough, but thanks fyi their generous serving sizes, I could hardly finish it. Would definitely go back!

Yelp
HERE. IS. THE. SCOOP. Everything in there is THE BOMB! My new favorite has got to be the banana pudding! The first time I brought it home I accidentally ate it all without sharing with my sister. Best believe the second time I got her her own and both of us were licking and scraping the container for the last bit of pudding. THE PUDDING IS DANGEROUS!! I would eat it everyday if I could lol. Aside from the pudding, the brownies are amazinggggg. Very moist and chocolate and paired GREATLY with some milk. The sweet potato cake/ cupcakes also one of my friend's and I's favorites. Very moist cake with cream cheese frosting... PERFECTION! Only thing: if you're lactose intolerant you may wanna have some lactate supplements with you lol. But I love this place and I would recommend it to want one who wants some quick sweets! AND it's black owned so go support a local black business!!
google avatar

Quin B.

Yelp
I went on a cookie excursion while in D.C. with my sister. Seven spots in 2 days! It was quite exciting and adventurous with surprising results. Here's the Scoop, which is actually an ice cream place, was our first stop. I love that this is a family black owned business serving the community and we chatted with the nephew to get a little bit of some of the history. The snickerdoodle cookie I had was trash, completely inedible, however the cookies are sourced from another company. It's challenging to rate this business accurately because I didn't have any ice cream. My sister had a scoop of the banana pudding ice cream and raved about it. I believe it was heavenly and one of the best scoops she has had. I hate I didn't try any of it, but it was too cold outside for me. That beckons me to return in the future for some delicious ice cream. They had a nice selection of flavors, some traditional and some unordinary!

Yelp
- Sweet Potato Cake - Vegan Options - Rum Raisins - should I say more? Here's the scoop - they don't make anything there but they are a collaboration of several minority owned dessert businesses in the area, many of which black businesses. The staff is friendly, they like to see you smile and the dessert is awesome. I went with the Caribbean run raisin, and they delivered! They even have vegan dessert and ice-cream options. Tips 1) Cake - call ahead or get there early, they do sell out! 2) Try the fish fudge; the name does not reflect the taste; the only thing fishy is how good it is 3) They are the basement unit; don't miss them 4) They have apple IZZY, but they sell out

Sherelle L.

Yelp
Loved everything about this ice cream shop! The owner was so sweet and I loved hearing the history about their opening and how the community had been supporting. They had some creative flavors that you don't see at other ice cream shops. They had the toppings, cones, and anything else you would want !
google avatar

Julia G.

Yelp
Decided to stop in for the first time after getting a wax next door - glad I did! The ice cream is soft and particularly creamy - great texture and the flavor is awesome. I got the banana pudding and cinnamon bun in a cup and loved it. The inside is small like most ice cream shops. I didn't see space to sit down but wonder if they set up chairs/tables in the front come spring.
google avatar

Chelle R.

Yelp
Here's The Scoop is my new go-to ice cream shop when visiting my alma mater Howard University! It is small, but the scoops are big and packed with flavor. A great neighborhood small business with a great product and good service.
google avatar

Molly K.

Yelp
I was shocked to not only learn this business has vegan flavors but also that they have creative vegan flavors. I got baklava ice cream and loved the creamy sweet base with bits of pistachio and baklava in it. They also give very generous sized scoops. This small scoop was triple the size I expected. I loved every bite and will definitely be back to try more flavors!

Yelp
I was in the area running errands and had a craving for something sweet. I found this little shop on Yelp and decided to check it out. I was able to get parking right across the street even though it's on busy Georgia Avenue. The shop itself is small, but I love that it has patio tables outside if you want to sit and enjoy your ice cream. The staff was great and they let me sample a few flavors before I made a decision. I really loved their honey graham flavor - so good. I ended up picking my tried and true - mint chocolate chip and cookies n' cream. Because I'm greedy, I also got extra oreos sprinkled on top. So good! The ice cream was very creamy and the dark chocolate in the mint chocolate chip was surprisingly good (and big chunks). I didn't love the food coloring in it because I usually try to avoid that, but it was good so I got over it lol. Overall, a really nice shop with delicious ice cream. I'll try a brownie with ice cream next time.
google avatar

Shalini R.

Yelp
Perfect place for a scoop of ice cream with reasonable prices! Got the "blue bison" flavor in a cone and it was good!

Yelp
Want some tasty desserts or ice cream ?? This is located a few minutes from Howard University. My girls discovered banana pudding here and I will say it's one of the best I've had !! I also tried the coconut pound cake that was to die for!! Staff was extremely kind, patient and helpful, guys, they even had Jamaican Pattie's here... chicken, beef , veggie, n calalou. And let's not forget the ice cream - didn't try any but going back next time to get them toppings with butter pecan! All reasonably priced items.
google avatar

Yelp
I probably eat ice cream twice a year, if that! However, it was my birthday weekend and decided, what the heck?? Let's get some ice cream. We were able to have two samples and I tried the cinnamon crunch and blueberry cheesecake, both were delicious, but I went with a scoop of the blueberry cheesecake. My husband got the honey gram flavor which tasted exactly like honey gram crackers! The service was friendly and quick. We will definitely keep them in mind when we need another ice cream fix!
google avatar

Bobbi D.

Yelp
What a fun spot! We just stopped in on a whim on a Friday night and we got a free light up cup! Such great vibes! And the ice cream is obviously delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
Love their brownie sundae's! Great flavors too! It's small but very cozy. The staff are very nice too.

Yelp
A sweet little ice cream shop that we ended up going to because it was the closest one to the Ethiopian restaurant where we had dinner. It was a chilly and rainy night, and this was a bright beacon with a friendly gentleman working, but....there's nowhere to sit inside and outside wasn't available with the weather, so we kind of just had to hang out awkwardly by the display case to have our treats. One us got a cup with half campfire s'mores and half blue something-or-other. Really good! The s'mores was so graham forward and we loved the extra large chunks of chocolate that they used. The blue was the typical flavor that's become ubiquitous in ice cream shops, but we liked it. Another cup was half black cherry chocolate and half moose tracks. The black cherry was definitely the best flavor of the night--so rich and tart and jammy. Moose tracks were fine. We do have to note that the ice cream was REALLY hard when we received it and the plastic spoons were not up for the job--ours practically cracked, so maybe the temperature needs to be adjusted. Or get some sturdier spoons! Our only real complaint about this place is that our daughter ordered a birthday cake flavor on a cone and the guy gave her campfire s'mores instead; she was a sweetie and gladly accepted it and told us that she didn't want to waste food and was happy with her flavor. But still--the order should have been correct. Anyway, we liked Here's the Scoop, and it seems like they're doing good community work too. 3.5 stars, rounding up.

Yelp
FIRST OF ALL this place is open according to their Yelp hours! A friend was looking elsewhere (Google? Unsure?) and the posted hours implied this little hidden gem would be closed on Monday, but they aren't! My birthday was on Monday and, after a wonderful lunch nearby, I found this treat shop on Yelp and begged for my friend to go with me. We ended up buying a ton of stuff! Their ice cream is SO GOOD (I got a scoop of the s'mores kind, and a flavor that was similar to moose tracks, but it had soft chocolate blobs instead of the tiny peanut butter cups) and, in sundae form, IS WONDERFUL. Two scoops of fun flavors, plus whipped cream, hot fudge, and a cherry on top? YES PLEASE. I literally said the word "bussin" as I was sitting on their stoop inhaling my scoops, which has to mean something amazing whenever I utter lingo that the cool kids say these days. So, on top of our ice cream, we also got pieces of red velvet cake (if you let it settle to room temperature it is even better -- it was such a classic taste and the cream cheese icing actually tasted like cream cheese and not a pile of sugar) and my friend got banana pudding (which she said was out of this world). If I lived locally, I'd be stopping here too often for my own good. I was lucky to get birthday treats from here!

Yelp
This is a great spot with a variety of flavors. The two important things at an ice cream shop in my opinion are having a variety of flavors and good customer service which this place fulfilled. I've been trying to eat more dairy free ice cream and the bananas fosters ice cream was good and I was not able to tell that there was not dairy. The sugar cone was fresh tasting until the end which added for a great finish to the good overall experience. And it's a Yelp validated black-women owned business!
google avatar

Heather Marie V.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! It's in the 90s today and I was craving some fresh ice cream instead of the pints in my freezer. I am not sure how I never came across this delightful shop but I'm so glad I did! It's a small place but packed with treats! They have a bunch of different flavors and offer a handful of vegan options too. I didn't have any of the desserts but I'd love to try them again. They still aren't offering sample tastings due to the pandemic so I had to make a guess on what flavors would complement each other. I asked the woman behind the counter if she thought the churro and cookie dough would go together well. She gave me a really thoughtful answer about how they would enhance each other--she was absolutely right. The ice cream was BEYOND delicious. Really creamy and big flavors. I cannot wait to go back! Plus you can support a Black woman-owned business. Win win!
google avatar

Meka D.

Yelp
First time here and the ice cream was amazing! I ordered peach and strawberry. Customer service was great. I was able to sample the ice cream. They have a lot of flavors available.

Yelp
I really love this place, and it's right around the corner from my house. The owner is super nice, always friendly, always remembers me when she sees me inside or walking my dogs on the street. (She also made some amazing turkey chili for a neighborhood chili competition at Midlands Brewery in 2020 -she should put that on the menu.) Their strawberry cheesecake ice cream is my favorite. Today I got a milkshake - 2 scoops of double fudge chocolate and 1 scoop of cinnamon churro-- It was amazing. They should put that one on the menu too. (And they're welcome to name it after me! ;) They also have good desserts too, like carrot cake and apple crumble. In summary, this place is a great little neighborhood business run by some really nice people and you should go buy some ice cream.
google avatar

Enna J.

Yelp
Friendly service. The ice cream is creamy and delicious.

Yelp
I screamed for their ice cream! When you first walk in you instantly smell the aromas of baked goods that'll water your mouth. Which first caught my attention was that this place is BLACK OWNED and near Howard U ! I was recommended by a Howard Alumna and I can say I was very impressed. The place is kinda ducked off but they have a huge ice cream cone outside that you should see. The young lady that helped us was very knowledgeable about the ice cream and was very nice and helpful! We were able to taste flavors, the birthday cake was my ultimate fav. Just the smells alone intrigued me and I got the 16oz Cookie Monster milkshake which is 2 scoops of ice cream of your choice and a cookie blended inside. I chose the birthday cake with regular vanilla and a macadamia nut cookie and it was only $7! It highly satisfied my sweet tooth! Only thing is I wish DC didn't have the rule with the paper straws! I had to eventually use a spoon because my cookie chunks were too big! Support this black owned amazing ice cream shop!

John B.

Yelp
It's a quirky little basement space near Howard University, which has a strong neighborhood vibe. Several people asked me about the ice cream as I consumed it on a chair outside. DC is not generally a place where you talk to people you don't know; it felt more like I was in some small town in the South or something. They didn't have mint, so I ended up with a salted caramel and a cookie dough flavor, which were very caky and substantial. The waffle cone was a bit strangely uneven in color, like it wasn't cooked evenly, but it tasted alright. They had some kind of option for vegan flavors, which weren't on display but could be requested. They also had a cooler of beverages and a set of cakes and things on display. It was a very sweet place.

Yelp
As soon as I saw a friend of mine post this, I jumped up, on my off day, and immediately went to this spot. I thought to myself "How could I have missed this!!" Perplexed because I just finished a couple of reviews within the last couple of weeks in the same vicinity. The place I'm speaking of is @heresthescoopdc . An ice cream parlor located across the street from Howard University at 2824 Georgia Ave., N.W. Washington D.C. . . . Sourcing their ice cream from the Taharka brothers they have a plethora of different dairy flavors (at $4.75 a scoop). Chocolate, cookies and cream, strawberry, cookie dough, rainbow sherbet, and cinnamon churro are just some of their flavors. They also have vegan scoops ($6.50 small $7.50 large). Craft milkshakes are available in any flavor. You can get banana splits, sundaes, ice cream cookie sandwiches, and brownie a la mode!! They have cakes, and pies (red velvet, coconut pineapple, an apple crumb pie)sourced from Mr. Bake Sweets. Want savory?? Beef, chicken, and vegetarian patties are available too. . . . Firstly I copped their 20oz. Toasted s'mores milkshake (pictured at $7). Next I got a small scoop (which is sizable) of their Salted caramel pretzel (pictured $4.75). I also snatched up 3 of their Heath crunch cookies (pictured $3.25), and 3 chocolate chip cookies (pictured $2.75). Lastly I had to try their Jamaican patties (pictured at $2.75 ea.). I had their curry chicken patty, their jerk chicken patty and their spicy beef patty. . . The milkshake...STAMP!! Thick, creamy, and rich makes for a top tier shake. . . The ice cream scoop...STAMP!! Same as the aforementioned!! Top tier!! . . The cake...STAMP!! This cake is moist, sweet, and absolutely delicious!! REALLY!! . . The cookies...the Heath...STAMP!! These were EVERYTHING a cookie is supposed to be!! The chocolate chip...DELICIOUS!! . . The patties...Curry...STAMP!! The jerk & beef were definitely delicious. Handmade with quality ingredients. . . . Customer service was EXCELLENT, the establishment was definitely clean, online ordering was easy, they third party deliver, & parking was rough. Give them a shot!! That's it. #bigschlimsreviews

Yelp
Here's The Scoop! is the newest ice cream parlor in Washington, D.C. run by D.C. natives! It's in the Park View neighborhood in the basement of a row house close to Howard University. The inside is very small, but there are chairs outside on the patio to enjoy your ice cream. The staff who run the shop are passionate and very friendly. They will guide you along with samples and recommend their favorites. They don't make the ice cream themselves but get it from a distributor. Despite that, it's good ice cream. I had a scoop of the campfire s'more ice cream and it was so good. They also do milkshakes, cookies, and have two fridges of Coca-Cola and Pepsi products. If you like ice cream, add this one to your list!
google avatar

Wesley M.

Yelp
One of the few places in DC (besides the food trucks on the Mall) that has soft serve ice cream. I feel like they should be advertising this fact widely. A treasure.
google avatar

Yelp
Their ice cream is always bomb and their service is spectacular. Always here to support black owned businesses!
google avatar

Nicole F.

Yelp
I loved my vegan ice cream cone from here! I got blueberry cheesecake and Mexican cocoa. I loveddd the cinnamon flavor in the cocoa ice cream. The blueberry cheesecake was sweet with nice chewy morsels of "cheesecake." I was told it was gluten free, as well as vegan. (I had a total brain slip and ordered a cone, but end up giving it to my friend instead and just ate my ice cream out of a cup because I'm gluten free and vegan right now.) 2 single cone/ cup ice creams ran me about $14. My friend ordered butter pecan with pecan praline pieces on top, and mystery flavor and they liked both flavors! The service was phenomenal; very nice woman who helped me shortly before close on a Friday. There are a few plastic chairs outside the store, so they have a little outdoor seating. I would definitely return to try more vegan flavors!
google avatar

Amber M.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this black-owned establishment and got my chance today! Located on Georgia Ave, the shop is incredibly small, but good things come in small packages, right? My wife got ice cream and I tried the strawberry lemondade cake. The cake was mediocre to fair...but only because it was being kept in a cold case and tasted both cold and stale. Had it have been fresh and room temp, I can tell it would have been delicious. My wife has declared that this is her new fav ice cream spot in the city...and that's a big statement coming from her. Staff was helpful, albeit a bit on the sloelw side...but hey, it was fine. Will def be back.
google avatar

Jessica J.

Yelp
It was so good I forgot to take a picture! I got the brownie sundae with butter pecan and churro ice cream and l can honestly say that this was one of the best sundaes I've ever had in my life! The brownie was homemade, chocolatey, and moist. Definitely not the prepackaged mass made type of brownie that you would normally get at an ice cream shop. The churro ice cream was my favorite. Nice creamy ice cream with crunchy cinnamon pieces of churro. If you haven't been here, GO!

Krystal Q.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed these ice cream flavors - s'mores, horchata and strawberry. It was so good, we came back for a second serving of all 3! The owners provided us with great customer service and it was just overall great experience.
google avatar

Hannah C.

Yelp
Super delicious ice cream and desserts! My friend got the carrot cake and I got two scoops of ice cream - cookie dough and s'mores. Everything was delicious! The cake was moist and full of raisins and nuts and other delicious stuff. The ice cream was rich and creamy, with really strong flavor. I got each component of the s'mores flavor (marshmallow, chocolate, graham cracker) in a really nice way. They're still limiting capacity inside, but there are some chairs outside if you want to sit and eat your ice cream. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Here's the Scoop is a little scoop of heaven right on Georgia Avenue. When I heard that there was a brand new ice cream shop in town and that it was BLACK OWNED, I just had to go. Though tucked away, You can find this establishment by the painted ice cream statue outside. There is no sitting room inside but they have a small patio out front. Upon walking in I was happily greeted by the staff and invited to sample not one but THREE of their flavors. They all were so good. I enjoyed that Here's the Scoop carried the basics but also stepped out of the box with flavors like southern peach and blueberry pomegranate. They also carried a wide variety of other desserts and drinks if ice cream is not your thing. They are fairly priced if we're comparing to other ice cream competitors such as Ice Cream Jubilee or Jeni's. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to HTS and think that they have something special. They are bound to become a staple in D.C.
google avatar

Apephanie P.

Yelp
Definitely the best ice cream I've ever had. I don't really like ice cream but if it all taste like this I'd definitely eat it a lot more. I got strawberry cheesecake & the first bite I was hooked. It had strawberries throughout & even graham crackers inside (I don't like those either) but thats the point of how good it was. I wish this place was closer to home.

Yelp
I am from Texas and a die hard fan of Blue Bell Ice Cream. I can be tough on ice cream, but we really enjoyed our Juneteenth order! Our goal was to order all or most of our food for Juneteenth from Black-owned businesses in support of the www.myBlackreceipt.com movement. The owner is kind and professional. I was called to make payment over the phone, and my order arrived on time. We ordered three flavors: strawberry, cookies and cream, and butter pecan. They were all yummy. I mixed my strawberry with cookies and cream. Delish! We even received cones and cups. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Over the summer when it opened, I stopped by a couple of times to try something new and to support a business with a great story. With the change in the weather I was left to be optimistic from afar. Recently I decided to get some ice cream for the crib and instead of buying it from the grocery store like I had done, I decided to see if Here's The Scoop sold half-gallons. They don't but they do have pints and honestly, that's even better for my health. What I don't think I saw last time was vegan options which I did see on this visit. I didn't buy any but that is good to know. I also see that they now make milkshakes which I don't ever see myself buying but it is a step toward an expanded menu which should hold it down during the winter months. Now when I have a hankering for a pint of ice cream in the freezer, I will stop by Here's The Scoop.

Yelp
My favorite ice cream shop in Petworth/Park View/Northwest DC. I love getting cookie dough with hot fudge. Staff is extremely friendly, and will explain the flavors if you ask. I think they have about 10 different flavors, plus a few different toppings and sauces to make this a successful ice cream run. Enjoy your ice cream outside in the beach chairs, or a block down at the park.

Yelp
Read an article a while ago about how this was a new Black-, woman-owned business and finally got to check it out. Great ice cream and service! The ice creams are interesting flavors and have good "chunks" in them (one of my favorite parts). They even have some vegan flavors I was tempted to get even though I'm not a vegan myself. It's not far from Howard U. or some of the other restaurants on Georgia Ave, so it's a great place to go grab dessert! For COVID they are allowing one party in at a time to order and take out, which seems to work well and feels pretty safe.

Yelp
I love the cinnamon churro ice cream. Delicious and creamy like Cinnamon Toast Crunch mixed with homemade vanilla. This is a small, black woman owned business and it feels good to support an amazing product along with a kind owner (met her outside straightening up the patio and greeting customers). Highly recommend.

Yelp
A third generation of DC business continues on with an ice cream shop. The owner Karin treated us with a brownie sundae and it hit the spot. I discovered that the ice cream they serve is a Washington favorite, that of Gifford's ice cream. I have not had Gifford's in a long time and it reminded me of the sweet taste and rich creams of birthdays gone by.

Yelp
After spending a warm summer afternoon blissfully chillin at the park, we decided it was time for a bit of ice cream to cool us down. Luckily this place is a short walk from Malcolm X and closer to home than Jubilee so we decided to check it out. SO glad we finally did - had been wanting to since they opened but never found an opportune moment. Let me just say that this place is a true gem not only because it is local and black-owned but because they have THOUGHTFUL vegan options. None of that "raspberry sorbet" bs. I'm talking baklava, blueberry cheesecake, cardamom and cinnamon, etc. Humina humina. Let's just say I practically inhaled my large scoop of ice cream. I also love that they let me pick two flavors (1/2 blueberry cheesecake and 1/2 coconut pistachio) for my one big scoop. Pro tip: their pints are $10. Will be back for that next time!

Yelp
Good location, street parking, clean place and welcoming greeting at the door. I wanted to celebrate National Ice Cream Day and support a Black owned business. They not only offered a variety of different flavors of ice cream but food as well. The patties and ice cream were both delicious. I'll go back the next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
This is such a cute Ice cream shop. They also sell AMAZING meat pies or empanadas. They have a good variety of different ice creams that all taste really good. The owner was such a sweetheart! If your ever in the DC area please give them a try. It's so worth it !

Yelp
Best peach ice cream EVER. I'm scared of leaving a review in case people come and clean them out of the peach ice cream before I get the chance to. Lady I spoke to on the phone is also the best and nicest lady ever. Support this local business, but also, leave some peach ice cream for me?
