The 15 Best Restaurants in Tuscaloosa, Home to the University of Alabama

"This cozy spot to enjoy a cup of coffee is a favorite among UA students. According to the company, when the original location, on Towncenter Boulevard, opened in 1993, it was the first coffee shop in Tuscaloosa. At the time, the owners couldn’t afford to buy matching furniture, instead decorating the room with donations and thrifted items; owner Rebekah Wanstall has since taken over the operation, but the mismatched chairs remain, a charming staple for lovers of the shop. Each location offers 40 different coffee syrups, along with assorted teas and baked from-scratch pastries, while the North River location offers full-service dinner." - Jen Bowman

The Heritage House Coffee Riverfront on Jack Warner Parkway is a must-visit hidden gem! I hope the locals realize and appreciate what they have, I could tell that they do by the consistent influx of patrons, the countertop service moves rather quickly! The quality is top-notch and the execution is unparalleled. Their breakfast menu and lunch menu are available from open to close. I spotted this place outside my hotel window from across the street. I took a stroll over, and I am so happy that I did! Customer service is genuine, personable, professional, and not forced, they warmly greet you with bright smiles and truly care about your experience and enjoyment. JD, Leah, Krisrina, Grace, and the rest of the team went above and beyond, their hospitality is warm, accommodating, hospitable, welcoming, and memorable! The food and drink service is made quickly to order! This place has a great energy and ambiance with an antique charm in aesthetics, using repurposed facades, a couple of my favorites are the antique spiraled stairway leading to wherever your imagination takes you, and the antique light fixture and mini chandeliers! The place has a special charm and spirit with different views to gaze upon and helps to spark the imagination. There is plenty of seating with access to plugs for studying, writing, business simply relaxing while sipping on a cup of tea or a latte. What impressed me the most was the impeccable execution of their unique pastries and variety of options! Their biscuit recipe is by far the hands-down best I've ever tasted, they would win first place in any biscuit competition across the nation, its beyond blue ribbon quality and rivals any recipe from celebrity chefs I've tried! From the texture to the flavor, there is zero let down! I can't fathom how it could be any better! The biscuit currently only comes in the Conecuh cheddar and is also used for the blueberry scone. The blueberry scone is also out of this world, not the normal dense must be dunked variety! The texture is delicate, fluffy, loaded with real blueberries, not overly sweet, and perfectly balanced! I thought that I would only have a few bites and take the rest to go but it instead vanished! My only request is that they should also serve plain biscuits and breakfast biscuit sandwiches! I would buy their biscuits by the dozens if they added a plain biscuit to the menu! I rarely write reviews it has to either be really bad or beyond good! Speaking of drinks they made a couple of my custom favorites for me, today I had an old time favorite combination of mine the toasted marshmallow white mocha latte, and the execution was superb, rarely is the balance perfectly executed by baristas, because it is hard to achieve, but this drink was a 10 out of 10, my taste buds can not believe that I have zero complaints! Aaliyah did a fantastic job! The espresso is very smooth! Today I had an a la carte breakfast plate with scrambled eggs, cheese grits, bacon, and a conecuh biscuit, again the execution was perfection! The scrambled eggs were heavenly, fluffy and nicely presented, the bacon was cooked to the perfect texture not too crispy and not too soft, the perfect thickness and flavor, the grits were also flavorful and correctly prepared they needed nothing added! If I lived here I would visit every day! The menu here has to be chef-inspired, I appreciate the quality, passion, and consistency in their top-notch execution! Anyone from a foodie to a culinary expert would enjoy what Heritage House by the River has to offer! This sure beats my hotel's free breakfast by 1 million points! There is something for everyone here, please give Heritage House Riverfront a taste, trust me you will not be disappointed! Thank you to all the staff front and back of the house! You all deserve a standing ovation! I wish had taken photos but I was so excited to dig in that I forgot to!

Google
This place is so wonderful! We rented the fireplace room and had them cater. The food was so good! There was an employee quietly taking care of everything from bringing in tables to bringing out food and drinks. Everyone was so gracious and the food was outstanding! The environment was warm and relaxing and all our guests enjoyed the day. I highly recommend The Heritage House for any event or just for coffee! You have to try the cinnamon rolls and muffins! Yum!

Google
Stopped in here for breakfast on our road trip, the food was amazing! Definitely worth the extra five minute detour off the highway. We had breakfast burritos, they were authentic made from scratch. Cruffin was tasty and coffee is spot on. They have a large variety of pastries and muffins. Service staff is super friendly and helpful and the the place has a causal antique atmosphere/vibe. You won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend!

Google
Like I always say, it’s a Heritage Home🫶🏻 Every location has the nicest staff and the most delicious food & coffee! This place will ALWAYS be my fav! The blueberry pancakes are top notch & the iced caramel macchiato is so good! Eat local, y’all!

Google
I Googled “best coffee in Tuscaloosa” and this came up! Game on! Being the coffee snob I am, challenge accepted! Maps brought me to the address but it wasn’t apparent that I was here. The gold letters on the glass door made it hard to distinguish. Once I figure it out, I’m happy I did! Great atmosphere with a laid back vibe. Ordered a medium latte and cranberry orange scone for a little over $6, I believe. I asked for ristretto shots to see what they knew. Cashier didn’t but barista said she knew but couldn’t do it (pre-programmed shots, I’m sure!) I had fun explaining to cashier. Foam was extra silky smooth but disappointed it was in a to-go cup when I was sitting in. It looked wonderful! All in all, nit picking but seems like a GREAT place. Thanks for serving!

Google
Awesome and extremely fast, friendly, & affordable coffee shop. Great location by the river walk. Gave me a free sticker! Did I mention the coffee is outstanding!!!

Xabier G.

Google
Been coming here for years and never thought to give them a review. As a coffee shop the place is excellent - really good coffee and outstanding baked goods. I recommend their cranberry orange scone the most (though all scones are great) and their bran muffin is also ridiculously good. There’s plenty of other options, even blended smoothie types - the chocolate mint is particularly tasty. They’ve been doing light food like sandwiches for a while too, their BLT is quite good if not as good as if you were at a regular full restaurant. Tons of light everywhere, super friendly staff, it’s a great place to come get some work done on your laptop, read a book, or hangout with people. Doesn’t usually get noisy and I find it fairly priced. Definitely my Saturday morning spot most weeks. If you’ve never been, you won’t be disappointed.

Jason E.

Google
I probably come here too often, but I do because it is fantastic. We’ve reached the point now where I hardly ever have to even say my order — once my food was in my hands before I could even say good morning! The early crew here is great, friendly, fast, and thoughful, and the price is better than the competition. Happy to be a regular!

Yelp
We really wanted to like this joint. The interior decor is very nice. The staff were pleasent enough. Boss lady had a sweet crepe, which has decent flavor, but the crepe itself was tough and chewy. Her hot latte was served cold, she had to return it for another one, which wasnt much better. I had some type of breakfast sandwich, which was lack-luster. The pastries are good, but the coffee had a burnt taste. There are better places to spend my money. One and done.

Yelp
Yall... this is probably my favorite coffee place on Earth. My boyfriend got me a honey lavender hot latte from here, and I just had to go the next day to get the same latte and an everything a bagel! The environment is so unique! Multiple different seating areas. From the singer seeing machine, to an original type writer, it is a cool vibe all around! Great study or work spot. Not to loud. Nice staff! Quick service! Great coffee selections!
google avatar

Leslie B.

Yelp
Little quaint spot in a beautiful area. Staff were really friendly and quick. Prices were very reasonable. I had the breakfast sandwich and my daughter had the bowl. She said hers was good, mine was just ok since my eggs were a little crunchy (if you know what I mean) I would give this spot another try.

Joseph K.

Yelp
I had been hearing about this place for a while now and decided to give it a try. We went to their newer location in Townes. It had a nice comfortable ambiance with seating downstairs and upstairs. We had the Iced Honey Lavender Latte with an extra espresso shot and a Cafe Mocha. We also had the HH avocado toast, and we just had to try their french toast. The french toast was as amazing. For starters, it's made with homemade cinnamon bread. We it with both bananas and strawberries. Overall, that dish deserves a 5 star. The avocado toast with the chive spread and pepper flakes was a nice combination of flavors. Latte was as expected but nothing unique that stood out. I would like to try it without flavor next time to get a better feel for their coffee. Overall, very nice spot worth a visit when in Tuscaloosa.

Yelp
Great ambiance, great place for breakfast, friendly service and good food. They have outstanding eggs. My favorite is bacon, egg, and cheese bagel.
google avatar

Lexi G.

Yelp
I ordered a medium hot latte the other weekend with almond and shortbread syrup and oat milk. I loved their syrup options!! The latte was seriously amazingggggg. I wish I lived here to get it every day!
google avatar

Nicki M.

Yelp
Long line but worth the wait! The Cracker Jack latte was legit! Food wise, the turkey club wrap was delicious and fresh, nice crunchy lettuce and thick bacon. The veggie scramble was full of fresh veggies and fluffy tasty eggs. We ate outside because we had our dog and the weather was perfect!

Juliette B.

Yelp
Ok, this is the most amazing little spot! I don't usually write reviews, but I was in the area for work and went here twice in two days--the turkey breakfast sausage on my sourdough sandwich was incredible, and the vibes were so cute.
google avatar

Suzanne D.

Yelp
I'm always searching for local coffee when I travel. On a recent trip to visit my son, I tried Heritage House. It's a cute spot near University of Alabama campus. They have a wide variety of food, coffee, and tea options. On this visit I opted for a drip coffee and breakfast burrito. In spite of being quite busy, service was outstanding and super quick. The breakfast burrito was delicious. Skip the salsa--it tasted like it had come out of an Old El Paso jar. The coffee was also less than impressive. It was drinkable, but certainly not the star of my visit. If I return, I'd go for a latte or specialty drink, because they are definitely catering to the college student crowd. (of course!)
google avatar

Jacquie A.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Great atmosphere. I often go here after the stretch zone. It's a great place to relax for families, college students ets

Elise T.

Yelp
This place is the perfect spot for college students to work and the food and drinks are amazing. Bet best of all their staff is amazing. Today I ordered a drink and when I received it, it wasn't made as good as i remember I went up and asked if there was anything they could do and they happily remade my drink for me and didn't make me feel bad at all. Whenever they made it again they followed up and asked if it was ok and said if it wasn't that they would find something else for me. This place is amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
Caramel macchiato was gross taste like brown sugar water or nesquick mixed with water or something! Breakfast burrito was soggy and had no flavor ! Took one bite and one sip ! Waste of money ! Service was okay !
google avatar

Sean H.

Yelp
We were looking for a light breakfast to end our road trip and this place seemed to fit the bill. The staff were nice and the place looked really cool and modern. Food wise, they did alright. My strawberry crepes needed to be cut with a knife (never experienced that before) since they were pretty tough and dry but, the strawberries themselves were excellent and plentiful. My hubby's Eggy Veggy breakfast was fantastic with a nice mix of eggs, mozzarella cheese (I think), avocados, spinach and tomatoes. And he really liked his Cowboy Coffee. We would return.
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
Very cute decor in a nice area with delicious food. Worth the wait to order, IMHO. We recommend the Conecah Cheddar biscuit, breakfast quesadilla, crepe with Nutella and strawberries, and the chocolate chip scone. The cinnamon crunch muffin had a very hard top and my son didn't care for that but the inside of the muffin was fluffy and good. Service is at a fair pace, not fast and not slow, they were decently busy. The drinks and bakery items came out fairly quickly while the cooked items took a bit. Everyone liked their drinks, the kids had a kid's temp hot cocoa with whipped cream, my husband enjoyed his Kona frappe, and I liked the sugar free English toffee latte (but it was very sweet tasting so just know that if you don't care for overly sweet drinks it might not be for you). We would happily eat here again when we pass through in the future!

Yelp
I've tried so many coffee shops in Tuscaloosa. Heritage house is one of the better ones. Their coffee is very light and weak. There's not a strong espresso flavor, but I personally I enjoy the flavor. I've gotten a latte a few times here. I've tried a few combinations of their SF syrups. The best one so far was the SF French vanilla and SF hazelnut. Not too much of an artificial taste and good rich flavor. They have lots of different pastries and things to eat and TONS of different syrup flavors, with a good amount of Sugar free varieties. The inside is adorable and it a a popular place to come study with couches and tables. They do offer Wi-Fi.
google avatar

Melyn G.

Yelp
What a darling place to have coffee or tea. You would never guess the inside looks as it does from the outside. One could easily miss this driving by. From the mismatched mugs, antique plates to the mismatch of old tables, chairs, sofas and even church pews! I loved every bit of this place. It is a casual quick serve restaurant, and from what I've been told by the baristas and waitstaff, this place is typically wall to wall full of University students and young professionals. That afternoon was an anomaly.. food is good, coffee is great, ambience is superb. They do disclose matter-of-factly they are not a gluten-free or nut-free kitchen so hopefully that won't deter one from meandering in to enjoy an afternoon tea and crumpets! One less star because of limited parking and no drive thru service
google avatar

McKinley H.

Yelp
I'm never disappointed when I visit Heritage House. The bama blitz had great flavor and wasn't overly sweet. My bacon egg and cheese on a bagel was also great. The bacon had great flavor, the cheese was nice and melts, and the eggs were fluffy. Will be back!

Rachel L.

Yelp
I'm obsessed with the Heritage House Special with oat milk. I'd go every day, if I could. They also have a blueberry muffin to dieeee for.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by this Heritage House last Friday for something to warm up with and a little snack. There are apparently several locations throughout Tuscaloosa, but this one is near the Black Warrior River. There are no huge signs or anything, so I never knew it was there until I went looking. The inside is extremely welcoming and very nicely decorated. It smelled delightful--coffee, cinnamon, and baked good galore--and I imagine it would be a great place to study. Unfortunately, I was in a rush, so I grabbed a hot chocolate and a chocolate chip scone to go. The two gentlemen who rang me up and warmed my scone were very polite and friendly. They even yelled after me to keep warm as I was leaving. Awesome service! My hot chocolate was really good here, much better than what I had at O'Henry's, a competitor of theirs. The whipped cream on top tasted like magic, and in a way, the chocolate and milk tasted like Coco Puffs (a good thing!). My scone was tasty too, especially since it was heated up. Gooey chocolate chips with a faint cinnamony flavor, and a large portion too! I enjoyed coming here and look forward to when colder days are more frequent, so I have an excuse to stop by and try something else.

Rachel C.

Yelp
A Tuscaloosa must! Always go when I visit the vibe is so cute & their coffees, matchas, and pastries are delicious.
google avatar

Shann S.

Yelp
My favorite time of the day is early morning. I have my simple routine of quiet time over a steaming cup of coffee or hot tea. While in town visiting friends, this adorable coffee house was beckoning my name at 8am on a Saturday. White walls, mismatched furniture and limited decor was perfect for this charming oasis. The sounds of George Ezra alternating with older Fleetwood Mac classics were piped through the speakers creating a chill groove. They had several rooms to choose from, so I headed to the back to spread out my gear and take in the surroundings. My order of a hot latte and cranberry scone arrived in under five minutes and all I had before me was a quiet morning of relaxation and bliss. Yes, by nine the place had amassed college kids cramming for exams and families finishing their walks from the nearby park, but even this made me smile. A community haven for making everyday memories. Tip: parking can be limited during brunch time
google avatar

Yelp
Wonderful place with great coffee and food. Great location and atmosphere and above all a very friendly and accommodating staff! Love coming here when we are in Tuscaloosa! #theantistarbucks

Yelp
Another great visit- I stopped in today and Rachel made me a coffee drink that was awesome, but my favorite there still remains the Toffee Coffee. Looking for great coffee, awesome food, and a place to relax? Go check them out, I really think you will like it.

Grace H.

Yelp
I love heritage house!! Their food is so good and the servings are very generous. I love how they take comfort foods and add a healthy twist. Their Turkey sausage burrito is my favorite. Their coffee and pastries are delicious as well!! It's decorated so cute and eclectic with a lot of seating. It's the perfect place to study or grab a bite and coffee with a friend. People who work there are awesome too. Definitely head here for breakfast or lunch if you're ever in Tuscaloosa!
google avatar

Parker S.

Yelp
Love coming to Heritage House for a relaxing morning. The atmosphere is nice with lots of wood/ rustic looking furniture, and they play Christian music in the background. Service is always top notch as well. I enjoy coming to fulfill my sweet tooth and hang out (the muffins never disappoint, trust me). If only it were a little cheaper, it would be the perfect place for breakfast compared to anywhere close. But I do love Edelweiss and how cheap it is comparatively.
google avatar

Matthew H.

Yelp
A favorite for years. By far the best all around coffee shop Tuscaloosa has to offer. Fresh baked pastries and and a coffee selection to die for! The service is impeccable and the staff at all of their locations are extremely respectful and nice. Each location with its own homey-theme makes them great for different occasions while keeping that comforting feel.
google avatar

Chloe W.

Yelp
This little cafe is perfect to grab a quick cup of coffee, breakfast with friends, or study and work. The parking lot is shared with a couple other local businesses, and there is outdoor seating and a large dining room. The prices are reasonable and they have extensive food and coffee options. Definitely a cute place to check out!
google avatar

Renae R.

Yelp
Roomy and cozy shop. Tables and couches. DELICIOUS coffee!!! Love it. Will be back. I will say the 2nd time I went the coffee was a little overly sweet. I got the Toffee Coffee.
google avatar

Jen C.

Yelp
My son and I were in Tuscaloosa this weekend for UA Student Orientation. We wanted to grab a quick bite and some coffee before heading back to ATL. We decided on Heritage House on the Riverfront. I ordered an Amaretto Mocha Latte and a ham and cheese crepe. My son ordered the Caramel Macchiato and a bacon, egg and cheese bagel. Everything was very good, but the coffees were especially delicious. They were the perfect temperature (hot!) and very tasty without being too sweet. The bright space is very cozy and inviting. I liked the eclectic collection of old tables and chairs and benches. There is plenty of seating. The baristas were friendly and competent. I look forward to visiting again next time I'm in Ttown.

Yelp
This time last year, Daniel & I were in Tuscaloosa AL for the Kenny Chesney concert. We stayed at Hotel Indigo, literally right across the street from the amphitheatre, and on the river. Fortunately for us, we were also a hop, skip, and a jump away from Heritage House Coffee shop! If I had my own coffee place, it would probably be much like Heritage House! It has a Parisian bakery feel. Spacious and comfortable. The kind of place where anyone would feel at home. Quaint, but not too fru-fru for the masculine types! Many eclectic seating options. Antiques and vintage items for sale...sip & shop-yes! Even the Ladies Room had a unique touch (see my pics). I also found a prayer wall in one corner-so endearing. Oh boy, the tempting treats at Heritage House- bakery case chock full of cookies, muffins, croissants...chocolate, cinnamon, fruity, you name it! But it was breakfast time and I decided on the turkey sausage breakfast burrito. It was huge and very tasty! The coffee was good too. Wish we'd been in town longer and returned for some sweets. The following day we walked a little further to another coffee shop. Big disappointment there! We should've gone to HH again. If you find yourself in Tuscaloosa, you should go! I know I will.
google avatar

Chelsea T.

Yelp
Everything here was sublime: the food, the decor, the coffee, the service... I felt like I was walking into a Victorian house for an official tea party. And, oh my goodness, try the raspberry macarons! Another bonus, all of the furniture was super comfortable and functional and, despite its old fashioned style, There were outlets literally everywhere. Perfect place to go for a study session!!!
google avatar

Marie L.

Yelp
Really cute spot with amazing coffee! I got their snowflake royale and it's so good, lovely service considering that the lady taking my order looked a little tiresome. It's definitely a spot to come to catch up with friends or study away. It has a relaxing ambiance and at a convenient location!

Jill H.

Yelp
Great place to just have a cup of coffee and sit with friends. Great food and service. One of the best places to eat in Tuscaloosa.
google avatar

Sue M.

Yelp
Absolutely awful in so many ways. Rude service, especially considering we waited a half hour in line and over 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Food arrived UNCOOKED after that ridiculously long wait. Many tables around us had their food sent to the wrong table, which meant they waited double the time for their food. Eggs Benedict and waffles were raw! It's not hard to make breakfast food and the management should do a better job at anticipating what kind of staffing they need on the weekends.
google avatar

Amy B.

Yelp
I had the baked oatmeal with strawberries and an orange roll - AMAZING!!! I love they serve the food on random, unmatched dishes. It reminds me of my grandmother's kitchen and that's such a lovely memory. The menu is definitely extensive for a coffee house and I cannot wait to try more!

Jon L.

Yelp
The breakfast quesadilla was gas. Straight fire. Karli, the new barista, was very pleasant, and chose my coffee, the sugar daddy. A different sugar daddy than what I wanted, but it was the sugar daddy I needed. Thanks Karli for a fantastic visit.
google avatar

Ashleigh W.

Yelp
A sweet, cozy spot in Tuscaloosa with 3 locations (Northport, Riverfront + Alberta) with good coffee and lots of sweet treats! My favorite is the Buca blend with a blueberry muffin. Those who work here could not be more kind and are so willing to help you make a decision or modify their current menu to suit your needs. Many of their speciality drinks are very sweet and they never flinch when I ask for 1/2 sweet. Some days are busier than others but it's a great place to study if you like background noise and lots of people. Riverfront by far has much better natural lighting which is more conducive to studying. Northport has a drive-thru! Major
google avatar

Carol S.

Yelp
Cutest coffehouse award winner, in our opinion. Breves were yummy. Service peeps were really nice. A good croud of people so it's a busy place but not too crowded. The cranberry orange scones are the number 1 scones anywhere. If you do not like butter, I would recommend that you not get these because they are butterylicious. A taste of butter in every bite and the cranberries and orange really pop. It's a party in your mouth and you will not be disappointed. They are not like any scones we've ever had.
google avatar

Janet E.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place. I stopped in with my boyfriend for brunch and was shocked to see how packed it was. That is a great sign. But as we stood in line, I started to realize there was absolutely no where to sit. More importantly, people who were filling the seats were not customers who had bought coffee or food, just students studying. We ended up leaving the line because we did not want to pay for food to have to stand up and eat it while all the tables had been filled by people who had not bought anything. Seats should be reserved for paying customers first.
google avatar

SS D.

Yelp
I had a great Americano. Love the decor. Lots of space to spread out. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Ranjani P.

Yelp
A spacious layout with delicious hot and cold drinks, HHC is my place of preference when needing a quiet afternoon to get some work done. I've been several times and never been disappointed by the drink selection. Want something cold? Order the iced peach tea, sweet but not overly so. Or for something cozier any of their lattes will satisfy your sweet tooth. The atmosphere is my favorite, calm and mostly quiet with students doing their own studying. Although they have an equally extensive food menu, both the Eggs Benedict and Caprese sandwich I've tried were lacking. The staff is very friendly though and this will remain my go to coffee shop spot.
google avatar

Mackenzie H.

Yelp
Heritage house is a staple in t town for breakfast and lunch eats and drinks. You can't really go wrong with any item, but their eggs Benedict is insane. I tried it for the first time this morning along with the chocolate croissant I can't stop thinking about. This place is a must visit!
google avatar

Ally S.

Yelp
You won't be disappointed if you stop in. SO thankful for this coffee shop. I have not tasted any drink or food item and dessert that I haven't enjoyed. The environment is so calm and peaceful. Genuinely a good place to meet up with friends and chat, or a place to cram study for that BIO exam you procrastinated for weeks. The staff is extremely welcoming and thorough. They get everything out as quickly as possible and it's always delivered with a smile. HIGHLY recommend the California Club and the Eskimocha.
google avatar

Grace R.

Yelp
If you want a great cup of coffee or tea or muffin or nice people, come here. I can't say enough good things. Always pleasant atmosphere, staff are kind, noise is minimal if you're trying to work (but still feels like a social atmosphere), and I think it's the best cafe in ttown. This location is better than the other one in town because it's larger and wait time is generally less. It's worth the drive.
google avatar

Allison B.

Yelp
Have visited this place so many times when I come to visit my sister. All bakery items are delicious!! Cannot go wrong with their cookies, blueberry muffins, scones, etc. I did try their breakfast quesadilla and it was good. I'm more of a pastry person though. Their coffee is amazing! I highly suggest the cinnamon lattes!

Jennifer E.

Yelp
Heritage House provides a great spot to hold bible studies, do homework, and catch up with friends. I personally don't drink coffee, but I love eating food. I will say that their sweet foods are the best - cake, scones, macaroons, cookies, pancakes, waffles, etc. are absolutely delicious. But their savory foods, like their avocado toast, bacon & egg biscuit sandwiches, breakfast burritos, etc. need some seasoning. It's always so disappointing to get something that could be so good, but to have it fall short because they weren't bolder with their flavors. In all honesty, if they added some seasoning and provided some spicier salsa with their savory food choices, it would be delicious. Also, their food options are a bit on the pricey side. So if you want something sweet, this place has a lot of good options! But if you want something savory and hearty for brunch or lunch, then you might want to look somewhere else.

Tarryn G.

Yelp
Simple, quaint, warm and inviting... those are a few words that sum up this cute little coffee shop in a nutshell. It's the type of place that makes you want to curl up on the sofa with a warm blanket and a hot cup of Joe even when it's 90 degrees outside! The coffee was delicious and every pastry and breakfast item that I tried were TO DIE FOR! After several trips I've been able to try the white chocolate raspberry scone (8/10), maple pecan scone (9/10), chocolate chip scone (8/10), blueberry muffin (8/10), cream cheese danish (10/10... you need this in your life!), chocolate croissant (8/10), baked oatmeal with bananas and strawberries (9/10), oatmeal cream pie sandwich cookie (10/10... it has a hidden layer of caramel in the middle... DO NOT LEAVE without ordering one of these!), a waffle with Nutella and strawberries (10/10... it was perfect in every way!), and a white chocolate/chocolate chip cookie (9/10). HH has officially become a location that is a "must visit" every time that I'm in the Tuscaloosa area!

Yelp
I am in love with this place! My mom came in town for a visit, so we wanted to find a nice coffee shop for breakfast. We were not disappointed! The staff was friendly and helpful, and I thoroughly enjoyed the mocha kahlua as well as the crepes. I will most definitely become a regular here.

Yelp
Such a cute coffee shop! My latte was excellent! I did not give in to trying a pastry but it was difficult to pass up. They all look amazing!
