Hermetikken

"One of the few restaurants around that is owned by its sommeliers, Hermetikken is unsurprisingly characterised by its superb wine selection, with an impressive array of producers on the list. It’s not all about the wine though, as the cooking proves to be a fitting counterpart. The chefs’ skills lie in finding well-judged contrasts and mining depth of flavour from just a few ingredients; duck served in three ways (succulent breast, rich ragout and full-flavoured sausage) is the perfect encapsulation of these considerable talents." - Michelin Inspector

The restaurant has good food and the plating as expected from a Michelin. Recommended to take the table at the kitchen counter if you're into culinary arts, which is where the experience went down hill for us. The restaurant has a lot of practices which are simply not expected from a Michelin star or even a high class restaurant as it's posing to be. They do not have a juice pairing for non alcohol customers.

Felt like having a fancy meal at a loved one’s house. The food: I have no words to describe how delicious this meal was, every course was a stunning surprise. I have never tasted such a beautiful array of flavours throughout a meal or genuinely enjoyed so many different courses and flavours. Each dish was better than the last and presented perfectly. The chefs are clearly extremely talented and it was nice to be served some of our dishes by them. The people: The second you enter the restaurant you can feel the relaxed, warm and cosy atmosphere. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and were sat down with wine in our glasses almost immediately. We received exceptionally friendly service and enjoyed our conversations with all those serving us throughout the meal. The personnel are incredibly knowledgeable and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our meal. We even received a signed card to celebrate our honeymoon, which was a lovely touch. Thank you so much to the whole team for serving us such a lovely honeymoon meal and creating wonderful memories.

I recently dined at that restaurant and I was absolutely delighted with my experience. This restaurant offers an omakase menu that is simply exceptional, and every dish I tasted was a true work of culinary art. Among the dishes, I particularly loved the hamachi with ponzu, which was both fresh and flavorful. The combination of tomato and raw prawns was a refreshing delight, while the scallops were perfectly cooked, melting in my mouth with an incredible texture. The lobster was also a highlight, prepared with care to enhance its delicate flavor. For dessert, the raspberry and vanilla soufflé was a sweet marvel, combining lightness and intensity. The selection of wines by the glass was excellent, featuring a well-chosen array that complemented each dish perfectly. The service was top notch professional and attentive while remaining warm and friendly. The atmosphere of the restaurant is both relaxed and chic, providing an ideal setting for a memorable dinner. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a refined and enjoyable dining experience. It is a true culinary gem!

We came across this place after som research and decided to book a table for 4. The location is cosy with friendly and knowledgeable staff. We decided to go for the 5 course dish and it was delicious. All regards to the chef for creating a tasteful combination and a wine pairing that was spot on. This is probably a hidden treasure in Stavanger and well worth a try. Next time I will go for the full tasting experience.

Had spent the day hiking Kjeragbolten and was feeling a bit tired. A friend had made a reservation here and I wanted to cancel. Best thing I did was make this reservation! We arrived late (but let them kbow , and they were so accommodating and pleasant about it). This is the most lovely restaurant. Beautiful marble chefs counter and bar. A few very comfy tables and an incredible wine list that encompasses the world. I was tired and not looking forward to a fussy tasting menu after our long hike. From the moment I entered Hermetikken, I felt relaxed and so happy. The vibe is so beautiful, relaxed but classy. I had one of the best meals in recent memory and the owner, his wife, and all the staff were not only knowledgeable about the food and wine, but seemed to have a genuine comaradery which is hard to find in many places. If I could give this place six stars I would. We dined at stavanger three star Michelin the night before, which was very nice, but if I had the chance to do it all over again — I’d go to hermetikken two nights in a row. It’s truly that good. If I’m ever back in stavanger. This is my first and last stop! Thank you!

We ate here this week, and the experience was exceptional. We decided to go for the omakase menu option which was 15 courses, and every single dish was amazing. From the presentation to the variety of tastes and textures it was a singular experience. The staff had a level of "ownership" that is rarely seen with great knowledge about the food and the paired wine that my partner indulged in. The only possible downside is the pricing, but ultimately I absolutely think you get what you pay for and I hope to go back again soon.

Great wines, friendly staff who know lots about wine and food. I had an excellent Cesar salad and delish pizza.
