"The 24,000-square-foot space has TVs everywhere you look, so you won’t miss a single play, and six bars are on the premises, so you’re never far from a drink. This season, the bar is offering more mega-sized trays of food that serve 8 to 10 people, like the Tender Bender on a Tot Yacht which has five pounds of chicken tenders and tater tots and the Tailgate Party which has a variety of bites, including buffalo popcorn chicken, cheese fries, cheese sticks, and empanadas. There are also mega-drinks, of course, that server three." - Courtney E. Smith, Kevin Gray

Hero is the perfect spot for a Sunday football outing! I went with my boyfriend to catch the game, and we had such a great time. The atmosphere was lively, with lots of energy from the crowd, but it was still easy to have a conversation. We shared the steak nachos, and they were incredible, with crispy chips, tender steak, and plenty of toppings. I also had a hibiscus margarita, which was refreshing and just the right mix of sweet and tart. The staff was super friendly and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the game. If you’re looking for a fun place to watch football, enjoy good food, and sip on a tasty cocktail, Hero is definitely the spot. We’ll definitely be back for more game days!

Decided to try this place prior to a Mavs basketball game. They did not disappoint! We arrived about an hour before the game. Very big building, seats a lot of people. We were seated within 2-3 minutes, a waitress brought us water before we even settled in our seats. Menus are downloaded on your phone. I went for the western burger and it hit the spot! Very tasty, came with a large pile of seasoned fries. Many different staff come by to help, not just your waitress/waiter which makes for very speedy service, not rushed though. Loved the atmosphere, big screen tv’s everywhere. Will definitely return! Finished with about 25 minutes to spare before the game, perfect timing!

Google
This is a fun, lively, and LOUD place to grab a bite to eat before a Mavs game. Service was good, food was good. Our order came out so fast we were wondering if everything was pre-made, but the food was good, so… Don’t miss the giant TV screen in the back portion of the restaurant, one of the bigger indoor screens you’ll find.

Google
We enjoyed an excellent night at this restaurant, they have $5 drinks and appetizers! Also, they validate your parking if you park in the victory garage, can’t get any better. Loved the food and ambiance, we will definitely return.

Google
While in Dallas I actually came here 2x not my normal routine to return to a restaurant or bar twice in a trip. The first night we ate had a good time the food was great. I was surprised. We returned the following night because we went to the mavericks game. The bar was packed and had a great pregame atmosphere. Service was fantastic both at the bar and the table. Paisley was out waitress she was quick, friendly and efficient.

Google
Placed a to go order. Forgot dressing for my salad and gave tots instead of fries! Should check your orders. I’m paying $50 for a meal I should trust it comes the way I order. I would have left the review off if I got a response to my email letting them know. The food was good but I don’t like ordering from restaurants that can’t get my order correct and do not reach out to me when I try to communicate an issue.

Google
First time here, and it was during the winter weather of 01/09/25. I was expecting it to be a rushed, skeleton crew service because of the concern for the weather. I was so very wrong. This place has OUTSTANDING customer service from the greeting hosts to our waitress. I sincerely wish I could give 10 stars. We were asked multiple times by different people including our server if everything tasted good and of there was anything else we needed. My son's drink was barely being finished, and he was immediately asked if he needed another. I highly recommend this restaurant, and kudos to management and ownership. You're doing it right!

Google
This sports bar was a fun place for our group to eat before the hockey game but It also made us a little late for the game. We got there at 1140 and waited 38 minutes to be sat after being told it was a 25 minute wait. When we did get sat the service was really friendly and the waitress was pretty speedy but the food took forever and we only had 15 minutes to eat before we had to go. On the upside the food was fantastic. The burger and chicken tenders were both very full of flavor and the portions were generous but still reasonable.

Yelp
Location Just outside American Airlines Center, Dallas Parking Take the DART and walk Service Outstanding Menu Note-happy hour menus-off season We had the tuna tostadas-loaded. The salad kept on going-we shared and had to get a to go container. Summary New fav sports bar Dallas downtown. See you there!

Yelp
Ok, it's a sports bar so ALL is balanced against that basis here. It's not haute cuisine, it's bar food, but certainly passable as such. So now that you've got your adjustments on level of food... here's the FUN part! This place is cavernous, screens at every angle, attentive staff, it's got to be one of the premier sports bars in the country. We watched Texas/OU there, with a much younger group of OU fans beside us "older folks," including my Swiss companion for whom THIS was a total cultural realignment, but we had a great time. Even WITH their team getting beaten, our nearest companions were gracious and the atmosphere simply maintains that feeling that, no matter, you're having great fun. It's right beside the arena where both the Dallas Mavericks play basketball and the Dallas Stars play hockey. I'm sure they have other great events there, too. If you are the type of person who finds sports bars are your thing, THIS one is NOT to be missed!

Yelp
So I don't give out many 5 stars. This is a great sports bar for many reasons. The location is prime!!!! Right by AAC. The service is pretty quick even when busy. The place is HUGE so usually no waits. The food is solid even for bar food. It's a great place to watch a game....tvs and screens all over the place. Finally, things are a bit pricey but reasonable considering all the other factors. This is our goto place for any events in the area. Tonight we saw Trans Siberian Orchestra at AAC and Hero had us on our way in no time. Will be back soon.

Ronnie B.

Yelp
Popped in for a cocktail prior to attending the R&B Forever concert at the American Airlines Center. My choice was random as I really don't care for margaritas on the rocks. But I must say this cocktail was a treat indeed. My damage was seventeen & some change with tip my total was twenty dollars. Sports bar atmosphere, nice staff, decent looking menu with a more mature clientele.

Danny K.

Yelp
Great for pre concert drinks and food at AAC. Very spacious and lots of different rooms, some with games. Food tastes good and the service is fast and efficient.

Jacky C.

Yelp
This sports bar right by the AA center is crazy. My friends and I popped in after the Dallas Stars game and got drinks while watching multiple college football games and multiple screens. It's packed, but servers manage to come and ask every table for drink orders on a consistent basis. Kudos to them. Didn't get food so can't comment on that, but this seems like the spot to be for pregame and postgame.

Jesse B.

Yelp
Hero is a massive, impressive sports bar with an awesome setup. It's packed with huge TVs, making it a perfect spot for catching any game, and the food and drinks are top-notch. The steak nachos, in particular, were some of the best I've ever had. Being right next to the American Airlines Center, though, drink prices are sky-high, which was a bit of a shock. Our experience started great with an attentive and friendly server, but after she clocked out and we closed our tab to tip her, things took a nosedive. Our next server completely ignored us - even though she took care of the tables on either side of us, she didn't say a word or check in. Great atmosphere and food, but service really left us disappointed by the end.

Ebony E.

Yelp
Perfect location if you're attending an event at American Airlines. Customer service 5 stars we never had to wait for our waiter lol he was always making his rounds. Handling the crowd well. The sampler platter was great for our group of 4, everyone liked something. My favs. Beef patties and the mozzarella sticks. The space was amazing large tv screens, outlets for chargers and plenty of room for everyone's gatherings! Take me back lol

Bradly P.

Yelp
Hero by HG is a massive indoor outdoor restaurant bar venue focusing on farm fresh food and drinks. They are located off the main entrance in by the American Airlines Center. This is a perfect place to attend a d pregame before catching a Maverick game, a Stars game, or even a concert. The bar sits right in the AAC area, and you can't miss it with the big lighted signs in front of the bar. We came here before a Stars game to get some quick drinks and were serviced at the outside bar. The place was packed with Stars fans wearing their Victory Green jerseys coming in and out of the bar enjoying themselves. The service was quick and efficient, and drinks were served with a smile by the lovely bartenders. They have indoor seating inside the restaurant and bar seating as well and have a patio bar adjacent to the arena, which is great for people watching and enjoying the outdoors. The prices were decent for drinks and probably cheaper than what you would pay inside AAC. The bartenders were friendly and eager to serve you and kept the drinks coming. Im looking to come back here again and maybe try out some food off the menu and enjoy my time here before I watch another Dallas Stars game.

Craig F.

Yelp
Not too crowded when I made a visit to Hero by HG, a sports bar that's a short walk to the American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas!! Gotta love this tender basket as its fan-favorite!!

Jono B.

Yelp
Went after a Mavs game and was surprised at how many tables they had available even though they were packed and how good service was. Great place to watch games. Service was great and our server was awesome. Also, they do not shortchange you on food! The appetizer nachos was enough to feed a family. The brownie was loaded with ice cream and whip cream. I was very impressed. The burger and fries were good too. I really like this place and would be happy to return for future events.

Chris T.

Yelp
Went before the stars game Monday Dec 16th. Food was spot on and pricing was at expected price for downtown. I got the Cowboy Mule and loved it. Only negative was how hot the temperature was. I was sweating during my meal.

Izzie P.

Yelp
We went in a little more than hour before close on a Friday night (posting closing time on their website is midnight). They were closing early with no explanation & the service was suuuuuuuuper rude! I wanted to love this place after seeing it all over socials & was hoping to try the gluten free chicken tenders but I'm not sure I'll be back after that!

Kori E.

Yelp
Hero is the perfect place to stop in if you are doing anything at the American Airlines center. The place is massive. I didn't realize it was so big. Service was a little slower at the bar but it was super busy. TVs were everything and lots atmosphere just felt happening! We had the massive tower of Mules. It was so fun and felt never ending! We had some nachos and a spicy chicken sandwich. So good!! I'd for sure be back again soon!

Art D.

Yelp
This was a cool spot. I was staying at the hotel across the street so did not have to deal with parking. It is quite big and has a big bar. We sat at the bar and watched the Astros play. We did not have anything to eat so can comment on that we just a few beers and enjoyed the atmosphere. As far as the people there were a lot of people eye candy for both men and women. Because of the location and being a sports bar the demographic is mid 20's-late 30's I do recommend and would visit again

Vania B.

Yelp
This is a sports bar / restaurant located right outside of the American Airlines Center! Although the food is average, the service is amazing. Came on a Friday afternoon with a huge group (20+) and the staff seated us right away and were friendly and accommodating. They even split the bill individually and our server took great care to make sure we all had what we wanted. The food is average though. I got the Ranchito burger and enjoyed it, although I would have expected it to taste more special with the queso + pico de gallo + aoili but it tasted more like a regular burger.

Brandon S.

Yelp
I'll start with the good. Right next to American Airlines Arena & nearby hotels. Tons of tvs everywhere. Clean and nice design layout. The meh. The food was okay. The cheese fries had a queso on them that were really good so I would recommend those. The Dirty South chicken sandwich was just two chicken tenders with some honey butter and pickles on a bun. The chicken was fried OK and the honey butter was decent but not what I would consider a chicken sandwich since it was just tenders and not an actual chicken breast. The burger was OK nothing fancy just pretty much an all American burger although both tater tots for both sandwiches were fried a little bit hard. Now the bad. The service was weird. Our waitress started by demanding a card to start a tab. When I said no tab & paying, she seem to get an attitude. We had to pay for our food when we ordered it, just felt weird. We felt rushed as we were trying to watch the game as she kept trying to clear our table of food we were still eating, but never brought drink refills ‍. Other options in the area, so will not be back.

Jamie C.

Yelp
My husband and I went to our first Mavericks game recently, and we decided to try Hero for brunch before heading into the arena. This place has a fun, festive atmosphere. Brunch is served on the weekends from 10am to 3pm. The "brunch" menu included a few non-breakfast items, and a few drink specials. The service was fast and friendly. The food was tasty and our bill was a fraction of what one would pay inside (especially for alcohol). I recommend stopping here for your pre or post game celebrations.

Jessica M.

Yelp
Great service, super fun atmosphere but just okay food. I didn't realize it was an HG concept, if I had known that I wouldn't have eaten here. Personally I'm not a huge fan of their healthy-ish food, it always seems to be missing something for me. We tried the Caesar salad (really not a fan), and cheese sticks (just okay but not terrible). The strawberry lemonade however was amazing, so that was a positive. Again, the service was super awesome and this place is huge and literally next door to the stadium so definitely a fun place to be for any sporting event.

M M.

Yelp
Good food and fast service. Waitress was very helpful as well. Definitely will be back.

Rosa H.

Yelp
we had a last minute reservation for brunch for one of my best friends birthday! this place was amicable, the food was delicious and we had such a great time! I would definitely come here again. I ate from the brunch menu and really enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros and I had a mimosa! everyone was also ordering the burgers! parking is hard there's a garage across from the w but it's $15-20

Leoda P.

Yelp
The place was busy when we got there but we got our table for 9 right away. Our server was attentive enough. There was a time that he took time to come back to take our orders that we had to wave him over. When I requested a different meal because I cannot eat my previous order, he came back with my food immediately. Everyone agreed that the food was good. The place was too loud so we cannot have a decent conversation. I heard it was not usually like that on a Wednesday night. But overall, we had a good experience and will probably come back when we come to Dallas again.

John M.

Yelp
We got the huevos rancheros, which were very good. I highly recommend them and then for a breakfast option we got mom's omelette with the red potatoes, which was also very good and would recommend.

Joanna T.

Yelp
The food here is surprisingly really good for bar food! The crispy chicken honey mustard salad is delicious and probably one of the best salads I've had. It has avocado, nuts, chicken and fruit which are all the things I like in a salad. I'm not sure if the honey mustard vinaigrette is made in house but it was very tasty! My husband ordered 1/2 chicken and asked to be tossed in buffalo sauce, yum! The fries and tator tots also had a great flavor. The vibe is upbeat and loveeee that it's in the same plaza as AA center! It was the perfect place to grab some food before a show. Although it's a bar it is still kid friendly. We'll definitely be back!

Vic C.

Yelp
Dropped in for lunch & I have to say it was OK. The staff was Very friendly & on top of things. Nice Sports Bar theme next to American Airlines Center. The Dirty South Chicken Sandwich was OK, fries were good. All in all, middle of the road restaurant, in a good location before or after a Mavs or Stars game.

Kevin R.

Yelp
Good food and drinks. There are a lot of TVs if you want to watch the Mavericks or other sports. Also a great place for dinner before going to a game. It's a large place, with a nice patio and cool section in the back to watch the Mavericks games on the big screen. Service has never been something to hype or complain about. Pretty average, no concerns. Don't forget to see the statue of GOAT right outside.

Matthew P.

Yelp
Food, drinks, service all that great. Im writing this for the manager to see. Let someone else pick the TV schedule for CFP games. You are not good at it. I would do it for free. But you cant put bad matchups on the big screens. Out source that to someone who knows football, please, and people will come more and stay longer

Julie C.

Yelp
Everything was wonderful - food - service - ambiance! Looking for a reservation steps from American Airlines Center with a great menu - this is it!

Carlos P.

Yelp
Great spot to catch any game or hang out before catching an event at the American Airlines center. The lights, music, and chaotic atmosphere is one of kind. Waiters and waitresses are all on a mission to get your items you ordered to you!

Kevin H.

Yelp
Dirty, smells bad, unfriendly bartender. Not a great experience and surprising considering its location. I can only assume everything is better during NBA and NHL season. Really disappointed.

Arielle M.

Yelp
I've been to Hero about 3 times now. Each time, I was visiting from out of town, to go to American Airlines Center. The food and drinks are good. The service is up to par. It's a gigantic place with a fun atmosphere. I will continue to visit whenever I'm in town.

Wayne W.

Yelp
Having attended a couple Basketball Games during the Pandemic period this was our first Professional Hockey game in Dallas. Nothing was open during the Pandemic so we didn't even know there were restaurants around the American Airlines Center. We found this place and loved the Energy. Yes it was loud but March Madness was on and everyone was psyched. It was very busy but Lucked out with a seat for two along the wall. Our Server was on point, always checking on us, and our Drinks were cold. We didn't order any food but what I could see looked tasty. Will definitely return prior to games!

Breanna T.

Yelp
So I'm visiting for the month and I saw so many reviews about this place so I was like let me try it out. It is literally in the same plaza of the American Airlines center so it's def a great place to watch the game. I will say that the owner is def on Yelp watching the reviews of this place and I appreciate that just because it shows they actually are trying to provide the best service. I was skeptical of getting the mozzarella sticks just because they were 14$ and they were average I was gonna be sooo mad! So I went on and got them but I was mad because they were burnt and tasted burnt but i didn't complain or send them back. I just make reviews. Luckily the owner (who wasn't ever there) saw my review lol and called the manager on duty to tell him to come to me and ask me how everything was. THATS WHAT I CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE! I showed him my burnt cheese sticks and he said he would talk to the chef and come back. My boy came back with a fresh non burnt pair of cheese sticks and gave me a free shot! Yeah they had me sold. I asked the bartender what was good there and she said the chicken salad and that what I ate. The atmosphere of this place is great and the people are even better. If you need somewhere to watch the games in downtown Dallas make sure y'all pull up on them!

Clayton B.

Yelp
Been here quite a few games to watch different sporting events. Tons of seating, multiple bars, plenty of TVs and a massive projector in the back room. Staff are great and service is always solid. This time I went for a rangers World Series game and I decided to get dinner. I ordered the Buffalo popcorn chicken and the deluxe burger. Popcorn chicken had a nice crunch and crispy exterior and tender juicy chicken inside. The deluxe burger was damn good. Soft sesame bun, juicy patty cooked perfectly medium rare/medium, nice crunch to the pickles, caramelized onions and the thousand island tops it off perfectly.

Marley P.

Yelp
You cannot go wrong by eating here! The food is always consistent, the cheese fries are amazing and the queso on top is great. The honey mustard, chicken salad is one of my favorite meals and definitely recommend. it normally comes with crispy chicken but I got it with grilled chicken We came here to watch the first day of March madness, and it was definitely the place to go.

Tyler R.

Yelp
Not a bad spot to grab a bite! Right in the heart of the pregame festivities for the stars game we were about to attend. Service- Service was average, nothing stellar, nothing beyond the minimum. Ambiance- Tons of TV's to catch the many events happening. Unfortunately lots of seats on the patio but after requesting, we were denied. Not sure why, there was atleast 5 open. Food- ended up going with the chicken bowl option. Surprised that it came on a plate but the broccoli and chicken was cooked wonderfully and we enjoyed a nice, not greasy dinner!

Molly M.

Yelp
I was so excited to go for a birthday celebration for my friend. We made reservations ahead of time, so they knew our party of 12 was coming. Our server was extremely rude, didn't check on us for 30 minutes at a time, rolled her eyes, and was very unpleasant. Our food came out over an hour after we ordered. We were some of the only people in the dining area. It was cold and tasteless. When I went to the bathroom there was a very intoxicated man who vomited outside the bathroom and then walked away. We told our waitress, and it was still there when we left. The whole experience was a disappointment.

Belle R.

Yelp
It's been a few years since I last went to Hero and I am happy to report it is still as good as ever. I enjoyed the steak fajita tacos (everything I've eaten here is good but this is my go to). The service was great, atmosphere nice and calm for a weekday lunch, and we enjoyed catching up with friends. Looking forward to my next visit!

Heather J.

Yelp
I recently tried the breakfast tacos at Hero by HG Supply in downtown Dallas, and they were a slam dunk! The restaurant is incredibly spacious, making it the perfect spot to grab a delicious meal and a refreshing drink before catching a hockey or basketball game. The service was impeccable, and I was pleasantly surprised by the availability of arcade games, as well as the abundance of huge TVs throughout the place. A great spot for sports fans and foodies alike!

Zack H.

Yelp
There is nothing more to expect from a fancy sports bar. Decent drinks and bar food. Cool interior with giant screens for sports fans. Go Mavericks!

don j.

Yelp
Came in before a Stars game and it was very busy. That being said you guys have some of the best bartenders..Eric and I think her name was Kay! Very knowledgeable and our margarita's were hands down the best..we came back after the game again lol! Thanks

Mykie D.

Yelp
Had a great time at the HERO. Good drinks. Nachos were good. Great service and ambiance. Location is great too

Bill U.

Yelp
My nephew and I were searching for a spot so go watch the Chicago Bears game and since he lives in downtown Dallas we chose this spot to watch this horrible game for the Bears. The upside was the service and the food. They had 5 games going so we had the opportunity to see this debacle from all angles. Sorry I'm off topic. I ordered the Farmhouse Chicken sandwich which was delicious. The mix of roasted chicken, avocado sauce, pickled cabbage and arugula was perfect. It also came with a small side salad with vinaigrette dressing which was fantastic. Now if I could order an offensive line for the Bears i would leave a six star review.

Grace Z.

Yelp
Ahi tuna tostadas were pretty good, but I felt for $17 there should've been more than five as they were small. With our group of 10, there was an automatic 20% tip to the bill. But I didn't appreciate when we were paying our separate checks the waitress skipped to the screen to add an additional tip so we assumed the tip wasn't included. It felt a little underhanded of the waitress to try and trick double tips out of us. So if you are here with a large group be aware of this.

LaKiesha O.

Yelp
I've visited Hero several times. They have always been good to me BUT today when I went there I was shocked to see that they allowed horses in the restaurant. I totally understand service animals or emotional support animals being allowed.... but a horse? This wasn't on the patio outside. There were literally 2 horses standing at the bar like we were in the old west or something. Then to make things worse, one of the horses started peeing. It was like a swimming pool of urine all over the floor. The floor and surrounding area, including chair and table legs need to be sterilized. I felt sorry for the guy that had to come out and clean up the mess. In my opinion, it was totally unacceptable and unsanitary. The poor man that cleaned up the mess should be rewarded or something. I'll probably reconsider going there again.

Sarah S.

Yelp
A decent option for lunch. The service is relatively slow. The menu changes often, but thank goodness the bowls are back on the menu as a healthily option! Worst part: Smells like sewer!

Savohna B.

Yelp
I came here for brunch two weeks ago with 6 people and the food and service was great. We were going to get the mimosa tower before brunch was over, but the kind waitress saved our pockets and suggested that the $5 glasses were more bang for our buck. I highly recommend getting a strawberry mimosa. That was everybody's favorite. I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken and enjoyed every bit of it. The chicken was nice and crispy and the chorizo gravy had such a delectable flavor. I also loved that it came with a green salad for "balance" with all the heavy food. After learning it was our friend's birthday, Mike (or Money Mike as he preferred haha) treated us all to a really yummy expensive drink. That was a very pleasant surprise. Overall I would go back. The ambiance was great and the service was even better.

Jazzmyn C.

Yelp
We came a few hours before closing. We were seated immediately and placed our order shortly. Our waiter and the manager regularly checked on our table. The waiter knew the menu very well. I enjoyed conversing with Mike, super personable and helpful. The beef empanadas, buffalo popcorn chicken and turtle Sunday were delicious. Highly recommend
