"Homewood-based Hero Doughnuts may be acclaimed for its pastries, but folks haven’t really enjoyed Hero if they haven’t eaten something savory sandwiched between the brioche buns. Those uninitiated should try the fan-favorite Hero Burger or Spicy Chicken sandwich, or the sleeper hit, the chicken salad sandwich, which is available on Thursdays. With satellite locations in the Summerhill neighborhood of Atlanta and in Charleston, it’s clear Birmingham isn’t the only city that can’t get enough of Hero Doughnuts." - Sarra Sedghi

First timer. Newly diabetic and my food choices are limited but I am glad I was able to still indulge. I enjoyed my hero salad and pistachio donut.

Jason Patton

Google
The original doughnut is good but the gimmicky ones aren’t, to me. The space is so loud on a Saturday morning because everyone brings their kids!

Mike Muncher

Google
I saw a review that said the donuts are a bit sweet. I don’t disagree, BUT they’re amazing! They’re not the sort of thing you’d scarf a dozen of in five minutes of self-loathing. They’re the sort of delicacy that you enjoy as a treat for a big win, or to make yourself just a little happier on a sunny morning! Simply delectable! The staff was amazing - the atmosphere is warm, inviting and professional. Everything you could hope for! I can’t wait to go back and try a burger! Go. Enjoy. Treat yourself!

My cheeseburger was fabulous. But we were not impressed with the donuts and chicken salad sandwich. Fries were good. Service was done with a smile and with an abundance of attention.. Great atmosphere. Location is superb.

We travelled to Birmingham from Gainesville, GA to celebrate my sons birthday. We met for breakfast at Hero’s and it did not disappoint! It was a Sunday morning between early and late church services and the place was hopping!! The menu was a little different than a typical breakfast spot which I liked. (I’ve since heard their burgers are fab). The wait to order was minimal and we lucked into a table right away. My granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed the bear claw we ordered to eat while waiting on our breakfast. The coffee was outstanding. I forgot to ask what it was but it was far better than an institutional brand. The self-serve coffee bar had three milk options; half and half, almond and oat milk. I don’t use sweetener but I’m willing to bet they had good choices. The food arrived promptly by a super friendly young man. Everybody’s order was different and yet everybody’s order was spot on correct. I had the Hero Breakfast and picked turkey sausage for my side. The meal was great but the sausage was soooo good. My son and DIL had the French toast and it looked divine. After breakfast we walked across the street to the cutest playground/park and had a lovely time. We actually chatted on our way out with the same friendly young man who brought our food to us. He noticed our car tag was from Hall County, Georgia and that’s where he grew up! He was adorable. The location of Hero’s is easy to get to, we had no trouble finding a place to park and the food and service were outstanding! I highly recommend Hero’s!

Google
Very disappointed. I ordered three dozen donuts. At first, they shorted me a box of donuts. After I brought it to the person's attention, she got another box but once I got to work I noticed that the donuts I had ordered were not in the box. I mainly got all plain donuts which is not what I asked for. I left almost a $15 tip which was a mistake. Why would you tip anyone to not get your order right?? I'll know to pay better attention next time, if I ever go back.

Google
They have pretty solid doughnuts. It’s the typical yeast type that are more fluffy than dense. Good flavor. Plenty of seating inside.

I'm never disappointed when I come here. The food is wonderful the presentation is great. The donuts oh man lol my kids can't have enough.

Akita Z.

Yelp
I love this place and their vibe! Their banana pudding donut is my absolute favorite. I don't know what they do to make it so heavenly but when I get to the vanilla filling, it just bursts and overwhelms me in a good way. In my opinion, it is by far their best donut there. I recently just had their original burger too, and it was quite good. Nothing fancy or unusual, it was actually just the usual but it was good! It's almost as good and juicy as 5Guys, but you're paying less for the burger and don't get to choose your toppings. A splendid lunch!

Kylah G.

Yelp
I've been here several times, and I always have mixed emotions. The food is overpriced for what you get, in my opinion, and it's also hit or miss on taste. The glazed donut was really heavy without much flavor or texture, the banana pudding donut was okay but nothing superior or special. The breakfast fried chicken sandwich is really yummy, but the red spread they put on all their other sandwiches is pretty out of place to me. The quality of the chicken sausage and regular sausage was really good, but all the sandwiches had way too much sauce on them. We ordered 2 lattes, 2 coffees , 4 breakfast sandwiches, and 2 donuts, and it was $68.

Laura M.

Yelp
Hot chocolate and coffee were good. The place was clean with ample seating. The staff were nice. This review is only for the doughnuts and I prefer a light glaze or cake doughnut. The doughnut itself was good just too much topping . We tried 6 different ones and the only one we cared for was the vanilla glazed. Just too much topping for my taste and my child's taste.

Ranita S.

Yelp
Pricey but good. Apple fritter feeds 2. Donuts are large and of high quality Coffee was really good wish there was more in the bottle for the price

Yelp
Eat more hole foods! My wife & I made our 1st trip to Hero Doughnuts for Sunday brunch & donuts. Hero Doughnuts started as a pop-up. They eventually opened their 1st business here at the Homewood location in 2017. Today, there are 9 locations...but let's get to the food! I had the Loaded Hashbrowns featuring a folded egg, onions, jalapeños, cheese sauce, pepper jam, cracked sauce & the Super Crunch Chicken. I LOVED this dish! The hashbrowns are crispy, almost layered squares. The pepper jam was sweet with just the right touch of heat & was my fav part of the dish. The onions were almost caramelized which really enhanced everything. The way the Super Crunch Chicken is described was irresistible...I mean Super CRUNCH Chicken. It lived up to its name, super crunchy yet moist on the inside. The cheese sauce was congealed & did the dish no favors, but there wasn't enough of it to detract anything. My wife had the Egg & Cheese Bun (minus cheese) featuring a fried egg served on a toasted HERO bun with cracked sauce, pepper jam & she added the Super Crunch Chicken. She was as impressed with the chicken as I was. I'm not a huge sweet eater, but I decided to try the donuts. I'm so glad I did because they are phenomenal! That brioche dough omg. You can tell that the ingredients are very fresh. My fav was the Cereal Milk donut. We also got Strawberry & a Bread Pudding donut. Though this was my 1st time at Hero, I've spent thousands of hours in this building. Hero is located in the former Nabeel's Market. I worked in the attached cafe for years. At one point, walking down the stairs that led from the restaurant to the market came as natural to me as blinking. I walked in Hero & did not recognize the place. Not that it should look the same, Hero has done a lovely job of defining its own space. It's adorable & the aroma of fresh baked donuts hits you as soon as you walk in. Service was friendly & my wife said the coffee was very good. I highly recommend this place. Have the chicken!

Yelp
Wow! Not just doughnuts! They make breakfast, lunch and have alcohol to!!! We drove all around Trussville looking for breakfast, even Cracker Barrel was a 30 minute wait! We got a wonderful tour of how great the food was with Brady at the helm. He was sooo friendly and he described the food with such vibrancy and accuracy. He should be the poster boy for the restaurant. I was craving crunchy loaded waffle House style hashbrowns. Now I no longer need to go there. We ordered the: *Loaded Hash browns fried egg, onions, jalapeños, cheese sauce, pepper jam, cracked sauce. Add choice of meat for +3 They bake then, fried them for a delicious texture crunchy creamy texture. They came cut up in the shape of tater tots served with their signature cracked sauce which was tangy and savory and completely complimented the dish. Every bite brought a surprised smile to my lips! I added the fried chicken for +3.00 and it was just another delightful surprise. It was crunchy and tender! *Hero Breakfast 2 eggs, hash browns, choice of meat, HERO brioche toast with jam. Choose Bacon, patty sausage or sausage *The beniegts come hot, with plenty of powdered sugar and a sweet and tangy jam to dip into, and I did. *Pumpkin Latte - it was awesome! Eat your heart out Starbucks, burnt coffee. * Orange juice * lemonade Squeezed fresh and so good. We wanted to order a gallon, but it only comes in singles. The food is fresh and made to order. There will be a name change soon so It doesn't seem like a typical doughnut shop. They are putting in a drive through soon. The only things that would be cons, if I didn't inform you first are: 1. It's a rather small place so a large family and friends (church) gathering would be inconvenient. 2. The restrooms are one single for each sex.

Yelp
My husband and I went to Hero's new location in Homewood on a recent Sunday for lunch. I was surprised at the large menu, I guess I haven't been to one of the larger locations. Lots of things sounded good but we both opted for classic burgers and fries. I love that they use Duke's mayo, it's the only one we use at home. We ordered at the counter and since the inside was crowded took our number to a table outside. In the shade it was comfortable. It wasn't long before the burgers came out. They were great and we enjoyed them and I was pleased that the fries were still so hot, so many times when you order fries they are not pipping hot when you get them. It wasn't clear if we were to bus our table so we just tossed the trash and left the dishes on the table. It was a good experience, I'd like to go back and try one of their breakfast dishes.

Angie M.

Yelp
This place has not held up. Brought a friend here on Monday as she has never been. Customer service was absolute trash. There were 3 people running the floor. All of them had major attitudes. The dining room was disgusting. With plates and garbage left all over the place. There was even a leaky pipe and a table with water on it. I know Wil is opening new locations, and that is great, however, since this is the first location, it is important to keep this one up to par with everything else. The food was alright, but not what we ordered. Not at all. This location is going down hill and I am sad to say I don't want to come back to this location again. Since this is where they first started, please keep this one up to date and up to par with all other locations.

Frankye J.

Yelp
My family picked Hero for After Sunday Dinner sweet treats. They wanted me to try the Beignets. I enjoyed the delicious hot beignets so much that I scarfed them so fast without taking a pic! My daughters were worst than me because their donuts were eaten under 2 minutes. I should've taken a picture of my white powdered lips. Their donuts were warm and delicious. We had a fun sweet time. Bring your family for a sweet trip. Staff was friendly and helped us in our donut selection.

Jada C.

Yelp
Donut were so, so tasty! Especially warmed up! What I enjoyed most about their donuts were that they weren't overwhelming sweet. The raspberry filling donuts were my favorite but the chocolate covered donuts were delicious as well. When they're room temperature they're good... but when I popped mine in the microwave for about 10 seconds it transformed into a miracle. Service was nice.

Chandler B.

Yelp
I am most certainly a repeat offender at Hero, but this location seems to be poor representation of the brand. The food is still amazing, don't get me wrong, but this location always seems be battling issues such as: Availability of donuts, cleanliness in the dining area, the absolute BATTLEGROUND that is the parking lot, service is very hit or miss, and so on. I will spare the details. I love Hero, but I highly suggest going to the downtown location if you want to experience Hero in all of its glory

Keeshia P.

Yelp
Ran into this place for a quick lunch and decided on the Dad Burger: All beef patty, Pepper Jack, spicy mayo, bourbon bacon jam, oh my!! To say it was delicious would be an understatement. And the fries were amazing and even had seasoning salt on them. The seating area quickly filled with family's, groups of teenagers, and others simply dining alone. Either way, I think the experience fits and group and the food doesn't disappoint.

Yelp
For Thank You Thursday (11:16/2023), I want to send a huge thanks to the Hero Doughnuts in Homewood. My mama celebrated a birthday back in May. I did not have time to take off from work, but I wanted to do something special for her. She likes doughnuts and cinnamon rolls, so I did a DoorDash of Hero Doughnuts to her house. After looking at all the amazing flavors they had available that day, I decided on three: Original Glazed, Chocolate Glazed, and Banana Pudding. Since it was morning, I also sent her a fresh squeezed orange juice to go with it. You made her entire morning that day in May of 2023, Hero Doughnuts! She inhaled the chocolate glazed and told me it was still warm and gooey. She loved the other two also, which she spread out over four more days. We have not been to the actual restaurant to experience the ambiance of the place, but it is my plan to do that one day soon. To Hero Doughnuts: Please continue to provide excellent products and I have zero doubt that you'll become a rock solid staple of Birmingham. You are already incredible in our eyes. Thank you SO much! Happy "Thank You Thursday"!!

Jeanie M.

Yelp
Way more than doughnuts! Great spot to meet friends and have a delicious breakfast with eggs, meat, hash browns and gourmet coffees. The doughnuts were delicious too!

Jerry T.

Yelp
Had takeout. I had the Dad's burger. Very tasty. I would order it with bacon next time. My wife had the classic burger, which she also enjoyed. We plan to go back.

Stan D.

Yelp
What a great value this restaurant is offering. They have weekly specials for $10. We had the hero cheeseburger, fries, and a drink for $10. In today's inflation, that's a great value. The burger was large, flavorful, and the fresh made bun that day made a huge difference. Because I usually don't eat the bread. But this Brad was amazingly good. I didn't need anything more after that, but I decided since it's close to the holidays, I would try donut to. I got the chocolate covered donut, which was one of the best I've ever had.

Jimena S.

Yelp
First the place is very welcoming! Doughnuts are amazing! Hands down they make the best orange juice! Workers are extremely friendly shout out to the girl that works there on Wednesday you see the best!

Brooks B.

Yelp
Hero first impression is amazing. Looks good from the outside, then when you walk in, you're overwhelmed with the smell of fresh doughnuts and other delicious food. But that's not it. Music is fantastic, Prince-Little Red Corvette...come on! How can it get better. The employees are VERY courteous and welcoming. Everything is so clean. If you come in the afternoon, the doughnuts may be few or gone. They get really busy on beautiful Saturday mornings so what can you say? I had a hero Dad Burger which was delicioso, and the buns, so soft. I love soft buns. Also had ranch fries which were covered with cheese sauce and some ranch and they were great too. I really don't see how you can go wrong with this superb eatery. I highly recommend it and also a visit to the park right across the street... Homewood Central Park

Tayler H.

Yelp
the donuts are too good and the staff is very polite! I would definitely recommend getting a box!

Lauren C.

Yelp
The donuts are decent, overpriced for the quality, but the real kicker here is the service. My husband took our son (both of them black) for a treat and was completely ignored. Caucasian woman walks in and is immediately greeted and offered service although my guys were there at least two minutes prior to her arrival. Now, I could easily call this racial, but based on other reviews, Hero might just not be a good place. We will never know, because we will never return. Also, the floor was sticky, there were gnats and flies about, and it had that weird mop water odor. Do better, or don't.

Kimi W.

Yelp
It's hard not to love Hero Doughnuts. I first came across this delicious local brand when they started as food stand at Pepper Place Farmer's Market. It was then that I had my mind blown by the maple sea salt doughnut which savored of the best, fattest pancake you've ever had in your life. Artisanal, creative, hearty, comforting, everything a craft doughnut should be. Of course I had to check out their brick and mortar. The decor is vintage inspired and beautiful with its tile and neon signs. The space has an energy to it, which is good, because I usually feel anything but energized after stuffing doughnuts in my face. It also doesn't hurt that Hero faces the beautiful park in South Homewood where less sluggish diners could walk their doughnuts off if they so choose. The doughnuts are killer, the kolaches are to die for, and the coffee is...fine! Going to Hero Doughnuts always makes me feel like I'm spoiling myself in the best way. Hard to walk out without a smile on your face.

Lauren N.

Yelp
Let's discuss the doughnut. Perfection. They're light, airy, not too sweet and come with a variety of toppings. Our personal favorites are cereal milk, sugar and spice and todays find- old fashioned bourbon. Worth a stop!

Suzanne S.

Yelp
Heard about these doughnuts on some travel show I was watching and finally had a chance to visit! So many different flavors to choose from! All wonderful! Parking is a little tight at this location, and the inside gets crowded, but they are super quick! The workers were all so nice and efficient. The doughnuts themselves are yeast doughnuts that are very fluffy and somewhat light. Not as airy as a Krispy Kreme, but not dense at all. The maple was a favorite as well as the chocolate caramel. I also got some fun flavors, like cookie monster and Fruity Pebbles crusted. These doughnuts made the house very happy when we showed up with a dozen in hand. Would definitely return.

Emma F.

Yelp
Our family has had more doughnuts than we can count from here but today was the first time we actually tried their burgers so now I feel like I can accurately rate them. We tried the kids cheeseburger, dad burger, and classic. All were delicious and savory. I wish mine had a little less butter (something I very rarely say) we all did like the sandwiches. As for the fries, they were slightly overdone but seasoned to perfection. When it came time for sweets we got the doughnut holes, cereal doughnut, sprinkles, and blueberry. We've also tried the regular glaze, cinnamon, peanut butter, strawberry, and caramel doughnuts. Like always they were light, fluffy, and devilishly tasty. You seriously cannot go wrong with any pastry you get there. Best part might be the lovely face you're greeted with, Sarah. She's funny and friendly and is the epitome of excellent customer service. We may have brought home some doughnuts but we are already excited for our next dozen!

Katrina P.

Yelp
An update to my former review: I think with the opening of another location (Railroad Park), demand at the primary Homewood location has stabilized a bit. I no longer seem to be having the issue of being able to purchase donuts, which is always a good thing (or is it?)

Jarred S.

Yelp
Good, not great doughnuts. Good pork chop and chicken sandwiches...and hamburgers. Doughnuts are overrated and overpriced.

Rob S.

Yelp
The location is great! The atmosphere is great! The staff is great! Located just steps away from Railroad park, they are located perfect for a quick stop off for a snack or drink if you're already in the area exploring. The atmosphere is very casual and laid back. They have two different serving areas, one for the food ordering, but if you want one of the adult beverages (looks like they specialize in local breweries) then there is a full service bar in another section. Staff were all so friendly and helpful. My wife had got a coffee and needed some creamer. They guy working the counter was busy, but yelling (nicely) for the other person to work to help and get her what she needed. Really good attention to customer service. Kind of the low point, was the actual donut snacks that we got. I guess in all fairness it was the end of the day and they had probably been there since the morning, but non the less, they were somewhat underwhelming. I would like to come back and try some actual menu item stuff or a fresh donut. I imagine the experience would be different. We'd for sure come back here again, when we do I anticipate a review update!

Natalie G.

Yelp
Our #1 spot for doughnuts. Not to heavy, not too sweet! Don't miss king cake season- Best king cake in Birmingham... trust me, I would know.

Bruce C.

Yelp
Bread Pudding Donut! Awesome! This was a very good idea for day olds. They are a bit pricey but I can't get enough of them!

Lexi K.

Yelp
Well, this isn't what I was expecting to give as the rating. I have seen Hero on social media and they have an amazing social media presence that gives them sort of a hype appeal - with that there was a certain expectation in my head. I had attempted to order through UBEREATS one morning but after several minutes of placing my order, realized my order was rejected. I attempted again the next day at an earlier time as I really wanted to try the amazing Hero donuts! Ordered the conecuh, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich with an original glazed donut and strawberry donut. The sandwich was good, but not anything special. The original glazed was alright. And I did not enjoy the strawberry one at all. Not sure if maybe something was off with it or what but I took a bite and could not eat anymore. The order was prepared correctly so kudos to that. And maybe I just had it in my head that it was going to be something other than what I had experienced. It's not that I wouldn't eat here again so to say, but it won't really be a top choice for me.

Dee W.

Yelp
I've only been to the Homewood location, and only had doughnuts. They're really good. That said, they seem to run out of every popular flavor, no matter how early you arrive. The parking is tough.

Michael H.

Yelp
Hero by Railroad Park has a nice ambience but can fill up pretty quickly on a busy day. The staff is always welcoming and a draft latte get me going every time. They have a nice brunch on Sunday's.

Ashlie S.

Yelp
Yummy! Cheeseburger was delicious! Wish the fritters were warm, but we just took them home and warmed them up.

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
Absolutely love coming here!! The staff is very friendly and the donuts and food is amazing! I really enjoy the iced mocha with an extra shot! Perfect brunch spot! Also right across from a park.

Katie J.

Yelp
Stopped by this great place in Homewood the other day and really enjoyed it! Located just across the street from the Homewood park, this doughnut shop is wonderful. I chose the Maple Sea Salt doughnut and my friend had the vanilla cream. It was late in the afternoon, but both doughnuts were soft, fluffy, and delicious. Maple has always been one of my favorite flavors, and I loved this version with the sea salt to balance the sweetness. The Inside of the shop was clean and bright. They have taken over the space that used to house Nabeel's grocery store and are in the process of renovating it. There wasn't any noise or commotion though. We will definitely stop by in the future to test out other flavors!

Virginia H.

Yelp
Called in our order for a couple of dozens a few days ahead and picked up at the exterior window today. Staff are all very friendly and efficient. The store looks crowded and too COVID friendly inside, so I was glad that I didn't have to go in to do a simple pick-up. Everything tasted fresh and great. Almost 70$ for less than 2 dozen mixed, so not something I would do often.....but very tasty when I do!

Benjamin C.

Yelp
A great place for a snack or lunch. I got the pumpkin creme donut, a hamburger and chips, and a sausage kolache - all for about $12.50. All of these items were great. The donut was excellent, the burger was a bang for the buck win, and the kolache had Conecuh sausage in it! The burger is a great deal for $4.50 (creme filled donut was $3.50), and I recommend that you try it. It packed a punch in the taste category as well as the value category. The Conecuh sausage made all the difference in the kolache. I would take this burger and kolache as winner in a head to head match against most other Birmingham area semi-fast food items.

Yelp
**** Updated Review **** I have been back multiple times now. Since my office has moved and with the detours due to the downtown overpass construction, it is a little more convenient to stop by and pick up for breakfast. My most recent visit, I tried the Peach Fritter. I also recently tried the Carrot Cake and Ugly Donut. My favorite so far is easily the Carrot Cake. I do like that there seems to be more choices of the smaller size at $2.50 each. I have also tried the Double Cheeseburger for lunch and have to agree that it is a really good burger. I am now looking forward to trying the Chicken Sandwich. *** Previous Review *** I tried the Maple Sea Salt and Side Kicks (similar to doughnut holes) and my son had 2 of the OG Mini. I thought they were really good. As others have mentioned, I also thought a bit overpriced. While the regular size were very large $3.50-4 is a bit of a stretch when other options exist that I can get 2 or 3 for that price that are just as good. I also tend to prefer a variety, so I would rather have 2 different flavors than 1 giant one. My suggestion would be to have a bigger variety of the "mini" (normal size) and fewer specialty available at the "regular" (jumbo size). That would be more likely to draw me back for breakfast or a doughnut craving. I do intend to stop by and try a burger for lunch soon. For breakfast, it is just not convenient enough and not a big enough of a draw for me to come back.

Amber G.

Yelp
Ever since moving to Birmingham 3 years ago, I have heard that this place is the best doughnut place around town. With family in from PA over the holidays, I thought I would bring them here. We arrived around 12:15 pm, and the place wasn't too busy. The options for doughnuts were pretty slim. There weren't many options to choose from, which was upsetting since I raved to my family about this place. I went with the sprinkled one. It looked yummy. While it wasn't bad, it wasn't anything to write home about. My family thought the same. I am glad I tried this place, but I feel there are better doughnut places around town.

Emily C.

Yelp
Always hits the spot! Hard to find someone who doesn't love these doughnuts. I've picked up individual or catering orders for offices/etc. Great way to surprise coworkers, friends, or clients. The flavors may run out so get there early enough on the weekend to grab your first choice!

Emily D.

Yelp
I'm officially obsessed with Hero Doughnuts! I stopped by with a friend the other day and found out that they actually serve breakfast and brunch options in addition to their amazing donuts and burgers/chicken sandwiches. We ended up each getting the breakfast plate with a mimosa and oh my goodness they were so good! The hash browns were crisped to perfection, the bacon was such great quality, the orange juice for the mimosa freshly squeezed, and like heck I'm addicted to the jam that they served with the bun. Also, can we just take a moment to appreciate the huge portions that they put on the plate?! All of their employees were masked, customers were required to wear masks inside, social distancing was enforced, and outdoor seating was available so we both felt comfortable enough to drop in. Huge respect to the owners for making sure that they're taking care of both their employees and their customers!

Erica A.

Yelp
The customer service is immaculate alone! I absolutely love this place. So does Drew Berrymore I've heard. I always get the hero burger. Was too hungry to take a pic but take my word for it'--all yum.

Jamie H.

Yelp
One of the best burgers in town! Doughnuts are awesome too! I have to have one of these every couple of weeks.

John L.

Yelp
Came back to try more of the donuts and had the super crunch chicken sandwich. It definitely had a "super crunch" to it. Fresh and hot from the fryer. Delicious sauce and soft fluffy bun. Great chicken sandwich that id come back for many more times. Can't get enough of the doughnuts, and chicken sandwich here. Lovely setup and spot. It's no wonder, it's always packed with customers.

Caroline S.

Yelp
Another great experience at Hero! This my time to get takeout from Hero. The whole takeout process can be a bit of a pain, but not at Hero. When you call to place the order, you're actually directed to their website. The online ordering process was actually very simple and they even text you when your order is ready. I arrived a few minutes after their text, and my meal was waiting for me at the bar, so the whole process took less than 2 minutes. Their staff could not have been nicer and they were following all of the COVID precautions. I ordered the Single Cheeseburger and added a fried egg, since I wanted something a little bit brunch-ey. The egg was a tiny bit overcooked, but I'd rather it be overcooked than undercooked, and It could have been since it was a takeout order. Their fries were just how I like them, crinkled and thick, not thin and crunchy. Next time, I might ask for some of their special sauce for my fries. I'll be back soon! Next time, I'll make sure to get a donut too :)

Joy S.

Yelp
We stopped by Hero Doughnuts today on our way to Railroad Park. It's really nice inside and out. The staff was super friendly. I especially love the outdoor seating area. They have really nice plants and greenery. Unfortunately I don't love the donuts but it's probably just a matter of taste. I saw that they are brioche type donuts which are not as sweet, more bready. To be fair, donuts are not my favorite snack anyway. I'd like to come by sometime and try the actual food on the menu.

Cynthia W.

Yelp
Delicious! Try the kolache with cheese! Try it with mustard. It made my breakfast so satisfying. Great way to start the day. And it's a hearty item, very filling, so you'll have a full and happy stomach for the day so you can focus on getting stuff done!

Yelp
I stopped in this past weekend to get a few doughnuts. I haven't tried all of them, but the fritters are delicious. The chocolate-covered ones seem to be dark chocolate. They were very nice. I was surprised that they that breakfast sandwiches and other food options, so it really it like a one-stop shop for desserts, breakfast, or lunch. There is ample parking in the back and they have a very nice and spacious outdoor patio as well as ample seating in their dining room. They have a very cheerful and welcoming spot. I love the color scheme and the food.

Yelp
We had finished eating at Nabeel's, and before returning to work, we decided to try out Hero Doughnuts before we went back. This was my first time here, and my coworker highly recommended this place. We walked in and wandered to the display case. Having just eaten my meal (and also trying to watch carbs), I wasn't super hungry/eager to eat one, but when I saw the "lil John" I was super excited. The lil John is basically an eclair on steroids.... filled with icing, covered with a maple glaze, and topped with bacon. Nom Nom Nom! I wanted to share with my husband, but upon splitting with him, I realized that the icing only went 1/4 of the way into the doughnut, and the rest of the doughnut was super dry. I paid $4.50 for this doughnut, and it def wasn't worth that amount. It left a bad taste in my mouth (literally and figuratively). Maybe I got a bad doughnut. Maybe that's how they're filled doughnuts are done.

Yelp
After hearing about the Buffalo Super Crunch, I had to stop by to check it out for lunch. I ordered this large chicken sandwich with a side of hashbrowns. I have to say the Buffalo Super Crunch lives up to the hype. Tender chicken, fried to crispy and crunchy perfection. Topped with hot sauce, and served on a fresh roll. I will definitely be ordering this again. The hashbrowns, not so much. They seemed like an afterthought, as did the fries ordered by my lunch companion, and I don't think I'll be getting them again. On a second visit, I ordered the SuperCrunch Salad as a side, which was much better. The mix of cabbage, fruits, and nuts with a vinaigrette dressing complimented the sandwich well.
