Hewelke more than deserves the Michelin Bib Gourmand recommendation. We don't generally tend to visit a restaurant twice during a single holiday, but this time we just had to make an exception.
Both times the food (maguro tartar, beef tartar, Peking duck, Panko pork chop; duck carpaccio, beef tartar, halibut, vegan fish) was out of this world - nice twists on restaurant classics with very generous portion sizes.
Service was attentive and professional without being stodgy. The drinks (both wines, beers and cocktails) hit the spot; the decor inside is subdued and comfy, and having dinner outside on the terrace on a sunny day before catching the plane back home was a delight.
All in all, a must-visit if you, you know, like good food.
Oh, and we also had breakfast croissants and egg muffins from the bakery - those too were outstanding.
