Lovely venue, wonderful ambiance. Upstairs from Passenger. Great music and decor. Cocktails sit around $15 each; I tried the Aries and the Cancer, which were both delicious. I also ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, which was semi-spicy and tasty.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Kit is a great manager and bartender and the cocktails were amazing. The Gemini was especially full of delicious surprises! If you can't choose a cocktail there is a bag full of rune tiles you can pick out of to help. There's a tarot card reader some days of the week and I will have to come back!

The drinks were delicious and the service OUTSTANDING, also the decorations are beautiful and is a different and fun bar. We got 3 different drinks each was better than the one before, my favourite was the Gemini cocktail. We left there kind of tipsy thanks to the 3 drinks we ordered and a complimentary shot that the manager, Kit, invited us. We’re going back today

Love this place. Great vibe, music, the cocktails are amazing. Bartender/owner really cares about the unique experience he shows his guests through ambience and drinks. Some might think the cocktails are over priced, but they're not. Meant to be sipped and savored. You can taste the thought that has gone into the preparation of each sip. So many other places doing the same thing, however, Hex is step outside the norm in every way. If you're in or visiting DC...Hex is a must. <3

I cannot say enough good things about this bar. Absolutely incredible drinks, aesthetic/decor, music, and service. There are even tarot readings available! If you consider yourself goth, alternative, or witchy in any way, this is the bar for you. Kit is very welcoming and accommodating, as are all the staff. If I didn't live in Atlanta I'd be here every weekend! I will definitely be back the next time I visit DC.

Phenomenal. Beyond the unprecedented harmony between the bartender and the vibe of the bar itself, his drinks are truly remarkable. Can’t find what you’re looking for on the menu? Don’t know what you want? No worries, just pour your heart out and the cocktail for you will appear. If you’re looking for a basic gin tonic, come in and he’ll steer you in an awakening direction and teach you the art of cocktails.

It’s about time DC got a bar like Hex! Upon first impression, you’re taken aback by an expertly balanced, muted and dark ambiance, great music, and a warm and cozy aesthetic. The theme and vibe touch on witchy while remaining inclusive and tasteful to a myriad of folks from all walks and trades. That paired with an extensive 36 cocktail menu, and paying attention to every detail, Hex has hit it out of the park for me! Staff quickly greets you with water, menus and suggestions of drinks if you’re unsure. I went for the Eostre which has pisco and elderflower in it, and it was delicious! They have a drink crafted after each of the 12 zodiac signs as well, so naturally I had to try mine, an Aquarius. I never really would order a gin forward drink, mostly because I don’t know much about gins, but I was pleasantly surprised and loved it as well. My friend and I were a little hungry and went in for the Death Roll. It’s grilled alligator and I was like... whoa!!! So good, we ordered another! I had a great time and will definitely be back, and can’t wait to take other friends and family here too! Hex was top notch, made me feel adventurous and expertly satisfied my pallet. Check it out! You’ll be glad you did! Oh, and they have a tarot reader as well most nights!! How awesome!

The worst experience I've had at any bar, ever, full stop. The bar was empty save for me, my friends, and about 5-6 others. Somehow, it still took the bartenders almost half an hour to serve us our drinks. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but this was just absurd.
