Great spot with excellent coffee (the pistachio cold foam was delicious), the cookie too. Only the salad could have used a bit more toppings. A bit pricey for the ratio salad / topping imo. But would still recommend!

Aesthetic cafe with a variety of offerings. Coffee and pastries were quite enjoyable, and setting had a nice vibe. The cafe was quite busy, so it was a bit difficult to get seats. Overall, would enjoy if you are someone who just wants to have a relaxing afternoon and enjoy a few pastries or drinks.

Several vegan baked goods every day, all of which are moist and delicious. The Aloo Happy Breakfast Sandwich is vegan, and is a delight with all of its pickled toppings. Coffee here is excellent, and the staff know what they're doing. Bonus points for nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

The food was good! Coffee was a little lackluster. I wish there were more dedicated eating spots but if you come by yourself to study and have a drink it'd be a great place for that!

We ordered a passion fruit cruller and a west coast cookie for dessert. For drinks we had their features, tonic & espresso and copycat. I’m happy with all the items we have and love how refreshing my tonic & espresso is. It is a bit too sweet for my taste but still love it!

Super lovely as always! I got the sesame latte, a bag of coffee, and later their passionfruit cruller. The service is friendly and fast, the coffee variety is always excellent and fun, food is super tasty (and also fun). And! If you want some Canadian-owned beans they have a nice selection.

Very cute café downtown Victoria. Lots of seated places and great ambiance. The staff is lovely. You can enjoy a lot of different café specialties as well as a few bites of you're hungry too. Nice stop after a yoga class 😊

Lovely cafe. Food is great, I got the "hey hash" and it was very tasty. The cafe has a great atmosphere and there are a lot of seating options (with lots of outlets if you are looking to study here). It was pretty busy when I went but was still able to get a table pretty quickly.

If you were to get one item here, get the black sesame latte, it's the best!! The matcha and sandwiches were very enjoyable too!

The vibe here is amazing and the food was excellent. We got the Matcha Strawberry Dream and fell in LOVE! So good.

We walked into the cafe to a fellow just smiling at us from behind the counter. What a wonderful welcome. The service here is very nice. The signature drinks are very interesting. I wanna try them all. We got the coconut espresso and a London fog. Both were the best drinks we've had all week. I'm not usually an overdress drinker, but I really liked the iced coconut. We also enjoyed the peach pop tart. Cute shop. Sanitized tables. Colorful with comfortable outdoor seating.

Amazing ambiance and awesome music. The best coconut milk latte I've ever had, and my boyfriend got the seasonal white chocolate peppermint mocha. I got a banh mi with fried tofu and boyfriend got the breakfast sandwich. 10/10 We talked about if we lived in Victoria, we would make this our regular morning visit. I even asked one of the employees which vinyl they had playing, and he gladly showed me on his phone. Love it!!

Just say no to the old time brands. Come here and take photos of the old buildings and have spectacular coffee. First date is yummy hot or iced

Their signature iced coconut latte was so good that I had to get it both days I was in town! The coconut milk is what makes it delicious - tastes like the canned coconut milk you'd use in Thai dishes. Staff is super friendly. Pastries and cookies were delicious! We tried the strawberry milk Cronut, peach poptart, chocolate chip cookie, & coconut oatmeal cookie. Decor inside is very pretty with plants and brick. Definitely very Instagrammable.

Great place to sit, have a coffee and a snack. They have a variety of filter coffee, teas, some pastries and some food. We didn't get any food other than the donut so can't really comment on their food. The coffee was subtle and good, not bitter or acidic like some other coffee shops. The seating reminds me of a small school desk with the wooden table top a little to your side. There are some regular tables along the wall.

Everyone has to come try their coffees, it's out of this world. Service is kind, vibe is cozy and warm. Will come back next time I'm in this country for sure.

Very cool coffee spot! You pick a coffee blend and they create your cup of coffee! Very clean and upbeat atmosphere. Staff is friendly. Coffee is great, nice and smooth. There are tons of outlets so it's a perfect place to work from. Can get busy and a little loud.

My favourite cafe in Victoria. I love the space. It has bright colours, fun decor, large windows, lots of brick and wood, and tons of seating (indoors or outdoors) for your leisure or work needs (also a lot of outlets). Their Iced Coconut Milk Latte and Honey Latte are my faves but they are on the pricier side as both drinks are $6+ and oat milk is an extra $1! 4.5

Yummy coffee and cookies! The branding is adorable. The staff was not friendly, but if you don't mind that, definitely take a chance on their coffee. I found it to be delicious. Their honey latte is a must try!

Hey Happy is a must-visit for coffee, baked goods, or breakfast, brunch, or lunch. I adore the atmosphere and the unique seating arrangement. We were greeted by the friendly host, who gave us some great advice. Fantastic vibes. They provided excellent service. The "hey hash" and the breakfast sandwich were our orders. Both dishes were amazing since they were tasty and flavorful. The flat white and the London fog made a wonderful pair. highly suggestable

I've had the chai latte two days in a row along with the breakfast sandwich. Chai is as expected and the same each time. The sandwich is very tasty and worth the money. Wife had the honey latte which was very nice. She got the yogurt parfait each day and very much so enjoyed it. Nice little coffee shop with friendly employees. Seating is tight when busy but for a coffee shop there is a good amount available. Would recommend this little coffee shop for sure.

Get the coconut ice latte and skip the breakfast hash Sit outside and enjoy the summer weather with one of the best ice coffee's in all of Victoria.

When visiting new places I look for local shops, cafes, and restaurants foremost. Chains I have in my home town so finding places like Hey Happy is just a treat. First thing you get is a fun attitude. They make you feel like your visit is really appreciated. From the counter to the person that drops off your food to the person that offers to clear your plate. Light b'fast in a cute place...perfect!

A bit shocked at the positive reviews, but maybe we are spoiled with our coffee spots in seattle.... the service was great and the interior was warm, fun, creative, and aesthetic. I'm such a sucker for light wood, plants, and an open/tall space. What surprised me most was they don't have vanilla syrup? The only sweetener they had were random syrups (which chocolate, honey) or sugar. It was the first time I've heard of a Cafe not having basic vanilla sweetener. I got a Chai latte and my friend got their white chocolate peppermint mocha. The Chai latte was very dilute and had a little Chai flavor but couldn't taste the cinnamon at all. The white chocolate peppermint mocha had such an artificial syrup flavor that was very heavy at the end.

Second time here and this visit was even better! We got the honey latte this time around which was DELICIOUS! Cannot wait to visit next time we are visiting Victoria!

Getting major LA beach vibes from Hey Happy. Fun and bright decor, good tunes, great coffee, and also a food and wine menu (the last of which we did not partake in on our morning ventures here). The honey latte and the strawberry peach pop tart were *chef's kiss* delish. My sole complaint is that I wish they allowed you to have your "for here" order out on their patio, but you have to order "to go" if you want to sit out in the sunshine.

Best coffee drinks in Victoria, IMO. Not that this place needs my review!! Lines constantly out the door, but well-deserved.

5/5 for their coffee, baked goods, and vibe. Their chocolate chip cookie is just the right amount of soft and fudgy . That sprinkle of salt is the perfect complement to the cookie. A must get. Chocolate cruller worn london fog- perfect balance of salty caramel, sweet chocolate, and tea flavour. Highly recommend. Honey latte- subtle yet distinct honey flavour. Really liked this. Smooth. Oat milk latte - very fragrant oat flavour. I still preferred the honey latte though.

Hey Happy definitely has some of the best coffee in town! Every time I go I like to try one of their rotating special drinks and they're always amazing. I do wish they came in a larger size however. If there's one thing you can count on from hey happy, it's that it will be busy. You can't really run in for a quick coffee, because you'll always end up waiting in line and waiting for your drinks for a while. The coffee is definitely worth the wait though! I can't imagine it's a very good place to work from, as it can be quite busy and loud. It's a better environment to meet with friends at or to take your food to go. I felt that their vegan breakfast sausage left something to be desired. I don't feel that mushrooms are a good vegan substitute for protein, because they're not actually a protein replacement at all. I felt pretty hungry after eating my breakfast sandwich and wished there has been tofu or something on it. I also tried their mint chocolate chip cake which, although it looked very pretty in the display, I would not recommend it at all.

Great breakfast items. We re brought another piece of banana bread. Hot chocolate was great. It was unlike the usual chocolate drink with cream added on top, but rather well mixed drink and not very sweet. Also ordered, honey latte which was awesome as well

The popular Hey Happy is a cool spot to pick up a coffee and cookies. I had their latte and it's pretty decent while travelling and their cookies are pretty on point: 1-chocolate chip and 2-ginger were very yummy. Unfortunately, both times we went, we weren't able to grab a a table but hopefully next time.

As i just moved in Victoria for less than 3 weeks, I'm still in my quest for best coffee ( in Montreal it's St-Henri in Berri quarter without a shadow of a lizards tail doubt !). The hey happy coffee is ok my girlfriend tried a cappuccino but didn't like it much so i did like a gentleman do and after she sip my americano and like it mucho i bought her an americano too. I always say if you want to really taste a good coffee an americano black is the way to go because you really taste coffee without anything to alter taste. Their coffee is really good but not the ultimate in Victoria as they don't roast their own coffee, but still better than any Starbucks of this world ( these bastards are everywere !). Comme je suis à Victoria depuis à peine 3 semaine. J'en suis toujours dans ma quête du meilleur café ( à Montréal c'est. Sans aucun doute le St-Henri qui remporte la palme, près de la station Berri Uqam). Le Hey happy coffee est ok, mais le cappuccino que ma blonde avait commandé n'était pas aussi bon qu'elle espérait. Et comme tout bon gentleman je lui ai acheté un americano après qu'elle eu goûté au mien. J'ai toujours dis que si tu veux vraiment goûter un bon café ça te prend un americano parce que tu goûte vraiment le café sans rien pour en altérer le goût. Le café du hey happy coffee est bon sans etre le café ultime de Victoria puisqu'il ne sont pas torrefacteur. Mais c'est toujours bien supérieur à tout les Starbuck de ce monde ( ces maudit là sont partout !

Perfect breakfast sandwich. That's it, that's the review. This was the best breakfast sandwich I've ever tasted - perfectly toasted fresh bun, delicious egg and magnificent sausage patty, with a delightfully tangy/spicy sauce.

The iced coconut latte is AMAZING! Such a cute vibe and very clean. Friends loved the yogurt, too.

I usually choose from espresso options, but the drip offerings here looked so interesting I had to try one. I had the Ethiopian, and it didn't disappoint. They serve in a little carafe with a small cup for drinking. I also had the Little Egg Breakfast, which was bursting with flavor. Although called little, it was quite a filling breakfast. My husband ordered the toast with ricotta and jam, and a cappuccino. It was also a large portion and tasty. I highly recommend this cute shop.

Genuinely such a cute spot. We tried their honey iced tea and frozen blueberry lemonade for an afternoon refresh and both were delicious! The interior is dreamy. Looks like they have a pretty extensive food menu (banh mi with tofu option!) as well as a cocktail menu and natural wine! Will definitely be back to try more here:) service was also superb, an absolute sweetie behind the bar!

I am a big believer of listing strengths of businesses so others can too enjoy these strengths: -your coffee game; huge fan of your coffee - and let's be honest, you have a lot of competition here in Victoria! Yours is definitely in the higher tier, especially a fan of your Americanos and Lattes! -your staff; makes the experience even better when you have a team of polite and friendly staff working for you! Having staff that are rockin' helps keep me at ease during accessing stores in a pandemic! -your location; need I say more? Grab a coffee and ocean walks for dayyyssss Keep up the rockin' work!

They seem to be forgetting about their customers, something has changed. They have had the best staff and customer service which keeps us coming back. Looking to other opportunities now.

I order the Honey Latte which has just the right amount of sweetness - not too much, just enough to cut the yummy bitterness of the coffee. It was the perfect drink to pair with the super sweet pumpkin spice pop tart, which was flaky and pumpkin-y and delicious. Staff was friendly despite it being a busy Saturday.

Quite a hippie vibe in this downtown cafe! I ordered the turmeric vanilla cashew and it was tasty. Since this cafe is in the heart of DT and cashew milk is probably a bit more pricier, the price for this was still a bit steep imo. I loved the cups that our drinks came in; very cute and a feeling of coziness. I definitely enjoyed the atmosphere and environment created by this cafe. Drawback is that the place is relatively small with limited seatings so it's not an ideal place for studying. Meeting up with a friend is great though!

Fantastic breakfast. Discovered Hey Happy just walking by, read their menu and had to try the hummus toast (with falafel) and eggs. Also tried a rhubarb pop tart because, of course. Discovered an excellent Rwandan coffee as well. Service was helpful, friendly. And love the cafe itself. Well laid out and good tunes.

We stopped in for a mid day coffee and a bite to eat. The decor on the inside is very modern and warm so was cool to sit at there unique bench setup. The crispy chicken Sandwich was perfect and was great size to split with someone. Lattes came out quick and were light and delicious. Great spot to visit at any time!

We walked over and had a iced dirty horchata. It was incredible a tiny bit sweet, but so delicious that we sat and enjoyed it before venturing out again. I would have loved a green tea latte, but they didn't have one on the menu.

What a great little coffee and bakery shop. Very cool and modern. So modern they had a record player playing Michael Jackson's Thriller. Very cool. Coffee was really good - and I'm picky about my coffee. We both ordered the granola with cashew milk and it was so good. The perfect light breakfast. The baked items were also quite lovely. We bought a few for the ferry ride home. Will definitely stop back in here on our next visit to Victoria.

Nitro cold brew?? Oh yes. What an amazing glass of coffee. Watching it being poured was like watching the pouring of a fine pint of Guinness . It was smooth with a hint of effervescence. Truly memorable.

The best cashew milk latte I have ever had! There is a special place in my heart for cafes that not only perfectly craft their espresso shots BUT also make their cashew milk (or other milk alternatives) in house! Seriously, thank you! The flavor is so amazing and stands out against store bought milks. I will definitely be back (I went 3 times in my 2 days, couldn't get enough!). Thank you hey happy!!

[Out-of-Towner Review] I had to try a cute coffee shop in Victoria. It as a must. So after we perused Lulu Lemon, we happened to saunter past Hey Happy. It was too cute and welcoming, not to go check it out. I was pretty full, but I can always make room for a coffee of some sorts. I was struggling with what to order. Since it was warm outside, I knew I wanted a cold/iced beverage. I was chatting with the barista, since there was no line. I was asking her suggestion on what I should order. She was sweet enough to let me try their Nitro Brew, which was way too much for me to handle. I did not like the taste at all. Then she suggested I go with the cold brew of the day...which I did. I loved how simple the coffee shop was. Minimal seating, very clean and fresh from the huge window in the front, letting all the sun shine in. I enjoyed my ice coffee as I walked around the new city. It was a great decision. Their name says it all!

One of the best espresso experts in Victoria. The Cappuccino was made perfectly and the place has great food as well.

So I was craving some java and sweet treats. Came here on an afternoon because it seems recommended on yelp.. Ambience and decor is nice. Seating is limited and staff was friendly. I ordered a chai latte with an espresso on the side and a power cookie. The power cookie was great. The rest horrid. One of the best ways to judge a coffee place is by just having an espresso. It was rude. Like sipping bitter vinegar. Absolutely nasty.. The chai was slightly better but compared to the Whole foods Chai's it did not measure up. Bland, too much milk, and while presented nice it was all show. Would have to see if there is anything else worth it otherwise not a good first impression

Coffees and lattes are top notch! They even had geisha options for the conoisseur types. They place reusable "Sanitized" stickers so you know where you can sit. Would recommend!

I thought I had just enjoyed the best Golden Milk Latte of my life a few days back in Seattle. Nope. Hey Happy delivered so well I had to get a second one to take it all in again. This was my last morning in Victoria and I needed to slow down and enjoy it. This latte helped me do just that. I found the balance of spices to be quite on point and distinctly appreciate that this latte is not too sweet, but more like just the right amount of sweetness to enhance the other flavors. They make the cashew milk and the Golden spiced "syrup" in house. P enjoyed 2 different pour overs. We agreed these tasted great, we're brewed perhaps a little weaker than we are used to, but the taste of the coffee did not lack, and this seemed to possibly enhance the flavor profile. It was unusually smooth coffee! I typically take cream in mine but would not have wanted any to fully enjoy the flavor of I had ordered the pour over for myself. The fact that they offer pour over and that there are a variety of single origin roasters to choose from speaks to their coffee expertise, passion and palates. I chose this as our final coffee experience because reviewers seemed to mention the coffee itself more than for other shops. If you like coffee - this place is a must.
