Hands down the best cheesesteak I've ever had. Very filling. The bread was soft and fluffy on the inside and slightly chewy on the outside. A perfect vehicle for the cheesy meat and perfectly caramelized onions. The fries came perfectly crispy and seasoned. Big portion as well

Came here to celebrate a birthday party- they have 3 sections of the bar: the main bar area which is well lit and lively, a back room that has larger party sized tables and dart boards and an outdoor area with a fire pit and plenty of seating. Prices reasonable and an extensive food menu as well- the sauerkraut balls were interesting and we also got the hummus plate which was a ice healthier option.

I only came here because of the name. But its a wonderful little spot. If I lived near i would visit often. I stopped for a burger and a beer. I got the garlic parmesan mushroom burger with jalapeño saurkraut balls. Both were wonderful.

Not sure how this business is open, or operating under their popular name… as they are not registered with the Secretary of State. Major red flag. HORRIBLE SERVICE!! Bought my home in GV years ago, & always said I want to try all of the local places. So after years of living here, I finally said let’s visit this bar & grill. I was so excited to try the Philly sandwich, but did I get it? No. Service was horrible. When you walk in there is no greet or warm welcome. Sat for a few minutes and the lady that was at the bar with glasses, middle aged didn’t even mention her name to us while taking our order.others sat down after us & were served almost immediately & food was brought to them in a timely manner. I was shocked. Had a colleague meet us at this bar & we were so embarrassed to have him meet us there because he didn’t even get a drink order until about 20 minutes later. At this point, we were ready to close our tab. The only person who gave us nice service or asked if we were ok, was a nice young lady who was also at the bar. It looks liked people were coming in for shift change. I tipped the middle aged bartender because I always tip, & frankly she didn’t deserve it.. however I know what it’s like to be in this type of Industry as I’ve managed many in the past. Front of house needs to get it together. Make guests feel welcomed! You want more locals to support? You can’t get that without giving great service. Owner/Manager needs to have daily huddles on how to start the day, there needs to be some serious coaching with the staff & accountability. & if THIS is the standard, you are giving the people that come the bare minimum & this area is amazing!! Do better, be better!

Google
This place is a hidden gem. Such a great atmosphere and location. The Staff is awesome and very attentive. The owners are very awesome and friendly. Food was great!!! Drinks are awesome!!! One of the best bars I've been to!!!

Michelle S.

Google
Went there for the MGK show! We were sitting in line in the heat starting at 3pm. The staff kept bringing water!

Amber C.

Google
Bar tender was extremely rude. Service was slow, which we were patient about as it was a busy Friday. After waiting quite some time for her to return after our first round I asked her “can we order more drinks?” She replied with “I don’t know, can you?” This was our first time in the bar and that left a horrible taste in our mouths. I had always wanted to come and it’s unfortunate that rude staff ruined our experience. We closed our bill early and didn’t order dinner after that, we went elsewhere.

Google
Great laid-back place to get a drink and relax. Plenty of indoor space as well as a pet friendly outdoor space. Great atmosphere and great prices.

Yelp
Hands down, THE BEST sauerkraut balls you will ever eat!! Beyond delicious! Please come back to the Circleville Pumpkin Show! I will gladly pay $10.00 for 4!!
google avatar

Zach M.

Yelp
Great service and ambiance. Can't beat the drink prices. 11 dollars for two. Will be back OH

Tommy L.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Even though it seemed very busy Will and Tyler were great. Also told me they were going to stay open later for daylight savings times. Not many bars in columbus would do that but they told me they love making people happy. Will definitely come again

Yelp
It's about time Gwen. I've been meeting to check out Hey Hey for a looooong time, like before Yelp was born long time. Long and skinny space just how any well-respected neighborhood bar and grill should be. I'm a huge fan of German Village, Meriam Village, Hungarian Village areas, as you'll easily find a row of houses on a street (busy and not) with local independent shops and eateries spattered within that same row. Upscale is not really in HHBG's vocab; not because it's scummy or anything, atmosphere just is what it is, take it or leave it. My friend has a chili cook-off here every year for her Lions Club fundraiser, so I was glad to come, watch the OSU/MSU football game, and support their cause. Two ladies manning the bar, I just walked up and waited for service, which was fast and efficient. There's more seating in the big back open room with a projector screen showing the game. Somewhat of a big bummer that the sound was not working, and it took way too long for staff to come and take a look at it - even after bringing it up to the bar staff several times. And, to add to the fact, there's only three medium size TV above the bar, not exactly great for viewing multiple games simultaneously.

Yelp
I used to live in the neighborhood, but I have not been here for 20 or 30 years. It's a little different, but it's the same. It's a neighborhood hang out. It's getting towards the edge of German Village. The sauerkraut balls have been famous forever. Their menu otherwise has changed over the years. They have a Philly steak place in the kitchen, and so some of the menu is geared towards that. But there is plenty of other bar food. I got the balls, of course. They seem smaller thanI remember, but again it's been decades. And they were still excellent. They are essentially what I remember. Perfect combination of textures and flavors, served hot. They brought a collection of sauces to the table, but you don't really need any. So so good. I got wings too, because they looked good. They were out of one of the sauces I wanted, because they make the sauces from scratch. And the one I wanted, had raspberries in it and it's not raspberry season. I went with spicy peach, not very spicy, but very flavorful. Very peachy. The wings were meaty, juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. 6 of them and 6 kraut balls was plenty for me for lunch. Service was excellent. Prices are pretty darn good. The place was cozy. It was not at all busy at two on a weekday afternoon. It gets busy at peak, of course. I will keep it in mind since I am in the area more.

Yelp
Great place great people great drinks from Denver Colorado come here for an awesome night support local
google avatar

Runa M.

Yelp
A must-visit in German Village! The prices are as unbeatable as the outdoor vibes! Our server was the only one at the bar and was extremely fast with our food and beverages. Plus, they had a local church set up selling items for charity!

Jum S.

Yelp
Bartenders would rather be anywhere but working. Busy night, and the two lady bartenders talked to each other as much as waiting on customers. It felt like a post office line, waiting and watching them. Took over 15 minutes to get a bottled beer. Despite that, left a dollar tip for the beer and not even a smile or thank you. As soon as friends showed up I chugged it and talked them into leaving. Good luck !

Kyrliam S.

Yelp
Sat down on a Friday night at the bar. Place was medium busy, not too crazy. Bartender was making drinks right in front of us. No hello, no acknowledgement, nothing. After 10 minutes, we got up and walked out.

Yelp
Hey! HEY! You ought to check out this dive bar located in Merion Village. It has lots of character. They sometimes will have food but not often. If they do have food, it's usually the sauerkraut balls. It's a German food though, which is strange because this is an Irish pub. Of course the bar is located close to German Village. It kind of blends these countries. The exterior and interior certainly look Irish. It has lots of green. There's shamrocks on the windows. It has all kinds of Irish whiskey, even Bushmills. This is good for St. Patrick's Day withdrawal. I had the distant third of Irish whiskey with ginger ale. It's $5 for a glass. This is the same price as the better Irish whiskeys. Get those instead. The only food they had on the menu is the sauerkraut balls, which features pork. It doesn't have the menu always available. It also has a popular yak burger. There's not many vegetables but they do have a salad.

Yelp
I first reviewed Hey Hey in 2014 and now, here we are, almost 10 years later! Still amazing but the food is now done by Philgeddaboutit! Philly Cheese Steaks and amazing. Numerous choices for Cheesesteaks: The Original: Freshly sliced steak, grilled onions, housemade cheddar wiz The New Guy: Steak, grilled onions and peppers, choice of wiz, lettuce, tomato, and BabyFace sauce The Hot Shot: Steak, tabasco onions, green peppers, spicy wiz, house giardiniera The Black Eye: Blackened steak, Buffalo Trace caramelized onions, garlic mushrooms, blue cheese cream sauce The Edgardo: Cheesesteak meets Pizza! Steak, smoked provolone, housemade marinara, oregano, and pepperoni The Capone: The Boss of our Phillies: Steak, peppered ham, genoa salami, pepperoni, onions, bell peppers, smoked provolone, house giardiniera, BabyFace Sauce I had the Hot Shot which, while so good could have been spicier. When I order spice I want HOT. They also have chicken options and vegetarian options, lots of sides and apps! Highly recommended!
google avatar

Drew B.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem, friendly atmosphere, strong drinks and a surprisingly great outdoor seating area with a fire pit and tons of seating without looking into a parking lot!

Carl M.

Yelp
The lousiest service there is. If you're not a regular then you are invisible. The worst service and would not recommend the bar to anyone. It's to bad it used to be an awesome Irish tavern.
google avatar

Dina D.

Yelp
The Hey Hey has an interesting history, dating back to Prohibition days when the people delivering the beer would announce "Hey, Hey the beer is here!" I highly recommend the MINI BEER, which is a sweet and fun shot to drink. It's made with the Spanish Liquor 43 with a bit of heavy cream on top to imitate beer foam. SAUERKRAUT BALLS classic or jalapeno are a pass, but would be okay for general bar food. GERMAN POTATO SALAD, a bacon-y addition to the menu is a nice side item. Great ambiance in this historic local hangout. A great, low key place to pass the time with friends and loved ones.
google avatar

Monica W.

Yelp
What's up. We just paid $22 for 12 sauerkraut balls???? The menu I was handed was for Indian food? What the heck happened? Will not be back.
google avatar

Jenny A.

Yelp
Katie is so rad!!!!! She is an amazing bartender. But for the love of god this place is so bright! I feel like I'm in an interrogation room. Please dim the damn lights!
google avatar

Joseph R.

Yelp
Great place with great prices! Play Keno and do scratch offs while drinking cheap beer! Gotta love it
google avatar

Shannon S.

Yelp
Well, don't play keno here if you're planning on having three beers and not wearing your glasses... bartender paid me out with a fake $100. I called and the owner/manager told me that they don't keep 100s on the property, but that she would look into it, but refused to write down my number.
google avatar

Kay K.

Yelp
How have we lived just down the street and not come here till now! This place is your classic casual divey type bar. It's casual and clean, and the staff here are so SO nice. He came over and welcomed us right when we got here. And of course we HAD to order their famous sauerkraut balls which were amazing! They have a good beer selection, we all got Rhinegeist brews which are always great! The vibe here is chill, laid back and relaxed! I definitely recommend checking this spot out!
google avatar

Julien B.

Yelp
Sunday brunch by Wright's Soul Food was really good. Shrimp $ Grits. Potatoes are amazing. Old Bay Sauce. Hidden gem worth checking out.
google avatar

Ness S.

Yelp
They have great music. Went here recently to see the switchback band with a big group. Even though I was quite tired before heading out, I enjoyed myself --- the band and the atmosphere was great. They've made some renovations to the restaurant do that it doesn't look as dark as before. As a result though they haven't been serving food except for the sauerkraut balls, which are really good. They have some great beers on tap here as well as a full bar. It's been a while since I've had dinner here. I recall it to be quite average. This review is mainly about the music and the drinks.
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
What a cute little n(Hey!)borhood bar! I met some friends who just moved to Merion Village here for dinner and drinks. We started with beers and mixed drinks (my vodka/soda could have been a little stronger TBH) and their "famous" Jalapeno sauerkraut balls. They came with horseradish and honey mustard sauce and were little gems of delightfulness to whet our appetite. The menu is pretty simple. One side was regular menu options printed out and the reverse was handwritten specials. When in doubt, always get the specials. I had the reuben which was a greasy morsel of yummy. Very good with thick slices of corned beef--got me into the St. Patty's mood really. Service was great considering there were only 2 guys tending to the bar and the front end of the establishment which was pretty full. A very eclectic and inviting place. We hung out with the locals and regulars for a few hours while catching up. Watched people playing darts and were invited back for live music. I'd def be game to meet up there again for casual fare and drinks.
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
Lovely little spot with the kindest staff. They have a small menu, but the food we tried was phenomenal. The chicken and noodles is homemade by one of the owners! Definitely recommend this spot for the atmosphere, staff, and food.
google avatar

Tammy T.

Yelp
Best bar and bartender in Columbus!! Patrick and crew always deliver a smile and a refreshing beverage. Huge patio too. If you are in the German Village area go check out one of my favorite little spots.
google avatar

Elizabeth A.

Yelp
If Hey Hey was in my neighborhood I would be there every day. This is the perfect dive spot. They normally have darts and other games. Beers cheap and the food is surprisingly good!!! The mozzarella sticks are a personal fave. All the staff are super nice too which always helps!
google avatar

Yelp
I just want to express the experience I had with the owner, not as a guest, but as someone who works for a scooter company, and just doing my job. There is a drop lock in front of this bar, so I unloaded the 3 that are supposed to be placed there, and the wretched old woman comes out and tells me I need to move them elsewhere, because she doesn't want them there. I tried to explain that I have no control over it and I'm just doing my job, so she said, I'll just throw them in the dumpster. I would think that as old as she is, and having employees, she'd respect the fact that I'm doing what I'm supposed to do, instead of acting like a toddler throwing a temper tantrum. I td her she should contact my company and see if they can move the drop location, that wasn't good enough for her, she demanded I move them. I'm sure she doesn't care when people ride them there and spend their money.
google avatar

Brian F.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place. The inside is spacious with a pool table or two. There is ample free parking, and a $ off most beer during happy hour is pretty cool. The draft selection left a lot to be desired, and those weren't on special any way. The bottles weren't too bad at all, and they seem open to having events there, but service was slow as the bartender was a bit overwhelmed. Anyways, it's a cool spot in a fun part of town, so I'd definitely go back and check it out again.
google avatar

Tiffany Y.

Yelp
Debated between 2 or 3 stars, but since I'm reviewing food, I'm sticking with 2. I get it, this is a great neighborhood bar: cheap drinks, low key vibe and friendly bartenders. But, this is not a place for dinner. We ordered the yak burger and the buffalo chicken biscuit. The burger was double stacked (cool) on a nice tasty bun (cool) with two paper thin yak patties (not cool) drowned in mayo (not cool) and served with a side of 6 vinegar soaked potato wedges (not cool). And by paper thin patties, I mean that if you were to combine those two patties, it would still be half a regular burger patty. The buffalo chicken biscuit was pretty well put together except the fried chicken was dunked in an oil well and shot by a shrink ray which turned it into a 3 inch sandwich - no fries. A big fat WHOMP.
google avatar

Aaron K.

Yelp
Favorite place in the neighborhood. Sue and Tim are amazing. Say hi to Pat. Eat the sauerkraut balls and thank me later. Just had the pizza and it was so good!!!
google avatar

Alexis C.

Yelp
This bar is super chill and very friendly. It was my first time at this bar so I didn't know what to get. I asked the bartender to make his favorite for me and the drink was super tasty and well thought out.
google avatar

Brian Y.

Yelp
Hey Hey, the food's here! After a long wait, the kitchen is now open. I believe I heard the chef was poached from TAT, and he and his wife definitely know their way around the completely revamped kitchen. The "temporary" menu features traditional favorites like burgers and wings (with four or five diverse sauce choices) but there are also fried chicken livers, deep fried deviled eggs and goulash. I had the goulash and I have to say that the broth flavor was intricate and delicious. The thick noodles were al dente and stood out from the stew. My wife had the chicken livers and they were also a fine pairing with my usual Lone Star. Service did not miss a beat with the addition of a food menu. The dishes and place mats look like they came straight from a hipster's garage sale, which is very endearing. Great place to grab a bite after work or for a nice friendly dinner.

Dominique S.

Yelp
Best pizza in columbus. Staff is cool. Lots of liquor options - even Jell-O shots! Stop in you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Lauren T.

Yelp
Lovely staff and fantastic happy hour. Love the vibe of this place. I'm a shy and antisocial person and let me tell you, I'm pretty sure I said at least "hello" to almost everyone at the bar. When the patrons are crazy friendly, you know you've found a great neighborhood spot! I heard the food is amazing but I didn't have any this time. If you don't want to sit to eat/drink, there is room in the back for games, reading and darts.
google avatar

Luke T.

Yelp
Hey Hey is a shotgun style bar in an older building sitting just inside Merion Village on the southern border with German Village. I'd heard good things about the place for a few years, and seen their booth at Octoberfest so I knew they served some German food too, but due to its southerly location, I'd never stopped in. That changed some months ago when I was waiting for a friend who lived a few doors down to get ready. I told her I'd just chill and have a drink at Hey Hey because I'd been meaning to check it out anyway. The bartender began talking to me immediately on account of having never seen me before. I was carded for the same reason, which didn't bother me at all. Once establishing that I was indeed of age and a real customer, the bartender began a line of inquiry into what brought me to the place. He's apparently been tending the bar here a long time. He said he knew everyone in the neighborhood, and even ended up knowing my friend's roommate, who owns the house in question. So it would be fair to say this is a neighborhood bar. This has been some months back now, but I believe I recalled at least one pool table at the far end of the bar. The bar itself is immediately to the left when you walk in, and is an L-shaped number running toward the back. There were a few TVs, tuned to the news as opposed to sportscenter. I ordered a Jameson on the rocks, which was average priced, because I like to nurture my beer and didn't think I'd have enough time to sit and enjoy it properly. The other patrons were friendly too, a few exchanged niceties with me while I sat. All in all, this is a decent bar that I might frequent regularly if I lived in the vicinity. The bartender was probably the highlight, and if you live in the area and haven't gone, you should give it a try.

Yelp
i love you Hey Hey bar. Untill this summer I lived a halfa block from the St. James Tavern for 4 years (me and the Mrs.'s pic is on the wall as proof of my constant patronage there). After we moved to German Village there was a gaping hole in the "cool bar I can walk to in any weather" quadrant of my life. Enter the Hey Hey bar. It's kinda like the James but bigger, and thursdays at the Hey Hey put St. James to shame. 2 words, BLUES JAM. We stumbled upon this blues jam on accident a few months ago, and now go back whenever we can get away from the 1 year old for an hour or two on a thurs. The jam only lasts from 9 - midnight, but usually rocks. **side anecdote** One thurs there was no blues jam on account of Jerry Lee Lewis' son being there with his band the Super Annoyings. The Mrs and I distanced ourselves as far as we good from the ruckus but band's set was soon over and Lewis Jr must've knew we wanted no part of his ruckus cause he came right up to where we were minding our own business just to annoy the hell out of us. At least an hour and 6 shots later we were still stuck there, unable to catch up with the drinks that he was buying us. rumor has it the s kraut balls are awesome, but I've never seen anyone get food while i'm here

Yelp
I'm not really sure where these reviews are coming from...maybe I was at the wrong place!? And choosing stars was very difficult, so I will split my review. Hey Hey - as a bar: 1 star This bar had nothing to write home about on tap (it is not a good day when Stella is as good as the drafts get), though had an OK selection of bottled brews. The bar was oddly lit and half of it looked like a storage unit for the anyone to throw anything (really...anything! I think I saw beer boxes, costumes, signs, etc.). I went to the bathroom one time, which took me a long time to find in the dark and it is in the very back (where no customers are sitting and you wonder if you are in the same place). The bathroom had no toilet paper and the toilet was broken. I don't mean clogged, I mean the seat literally was cracked in half and the toilet was on a slant. I held the rest of my pee until I got home. Hey Hey - service: 5 stars (6 if I could!) The bartenders at this bar clearly had many regulars and knew a lot about them! They greeted their regulars, asked questions, and seemed to be having a great time. Sometimes these bartenders tend to neglect non-regular customers; but not at the Hey Hey! Everyone, I beleive, seemed to get the same warm and prompt service. Plus, when my fiance and I decided we probably should cab it home, the bartender not only called a cab for us, but came to our table and let us know when the cab was there. That is service unlike I have ever ever had. Hey Hey, you swept me off my feet. I can't say I would make a point to go there again for beer or a great night out, but for a quick chill drink with impressive service, I think Hey Hey is your place.

Yelp
Went here New Years Eve. The bar tender tried to screw me and a friend over. I paid for two drinks on my credit card and he tried to put those two drinks on my friends tab at the end of the night. I wonder if he thought we weren't sober and wouldn't notice. He argued with us even though I showed him the receipt and bank statement. He then turns to my friend and says "I'll let you get away with it this time". WTF. I will NOT be returning to this bar. I bet he cleaned up that night with this scam. Oh, and worst Moscow Mule of my life. They used ginger ale. YUCK. I usually don't order those at dive bars anyhow, so this wouldn't have been enough for me to write a bad review, but why not mention it???
google avatar

Jessica K.

Yelp
This review is absolute fodder for the, "Yelp is dumb" crowd, admittedly. Super, super not 21. Wildly overage. Walked in, waited forever to be served, wouldn't serve us because one in our WILDLY OVERAGE party left his ID in the car. I mean, okay, sure, I gueeeesss, but you are a shitty bar in a nice part of town. How often, exactly, are underage children with beards and business attire trying to secretly order an ale at your bar? Never. How often do you have a shitty, sassy, unaccommodating bartender ensure a group of people will never be back? At least once.
google avatar

Craig D.

Yelp
The food and service are both fantastic! It's great to have a place in town with so many regulars. The door opens and all heads swivel towards it so that welcomes can be shouted out. The menu isn't extensive but the food is great! I personally love the jalapeño sauerkraut balls and the pork tenderloin sandwich. The sirloin sandwich is also good and the prices are reasonable. They also have local beers on tap (I'm working on a PsycHOPathy as I write this). One thing to keep in mind is that the kitchen is closed on Sunday (but you can still get sauerkraut balls, yay!)
google avatar

Evalyn C.

Yelp
This is a fun neighborhood bar in Merion Village. It's in a funky older building that lends it almost as much character as the regulars do. I've been several times for the Swoop! Food Truck kitchen takeover (Thursday through Saturday evenings) and really enjoyed the food, drink, and atmosphere. The staff is rather friendly and always seems to recognize John and me - which is a nice touch. Nothing's too expensive. The TVs are always going.
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
Recently had dinner at Hey Hey. The food and service were outstanding. I had the French omelet sandwich, my wife had the rabbit sausage on a bun, and my son had the Terducken tacos. All three dishes were extremely tasty. The three of us warmed up with the sauerkraut balls and they were absolutely fantastic. We finished with chocolate chip cookies and macadamia nut cookies. Warm and delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We love the Hey Hey Bar & Grill!!

Yelp
Was in town for the Arnold, wasn't competing so I wanted to check out a local watering hole. I was walking to the bar from my Air BNB and I asked a neighbor where it was. He told me to hop in and he'd drop me off. What a great spot. Awesome people. Can't say enough about how nice everyone was and how cool a spot this is. TOUCHTUNES. The owner was there earlier in the night for the 39th anniversary, & I was told the ole' bar opened in 1900. Great staff and locals. The bar you want to visit in Columbus. Have a Jameson Black Barrel for me. CHEERS!
google avatar

Brad S.

Yelp
It's the definition of an elite dive bar. Excellent beers on tap, absolutely nothing in the way of trendy-decor or matching decorations, a staff that doesn't take any guff (that's right....guff), and NOW, a fantastic bar grub menu courtesy of the COOP. Don't come here if you're looking for a classy establishment or even one that feels particularly clean. It's not true, but my mental image of the bathroom is a torture chamber with chains on the wall. Again, not true, but that's the general vibe of this place. It's exactly what you want in a dive - absolutely none of the frills, just good booze, good food, and cheap prices. Bonuses: you can play KENO, and your bar tab is kept on a post-it note. Side tip: they card here, vigorously. So, even if you're a 30-year-old with mostly gray hair, bring your ID, or prepare to be chastised and maybe kicked out.

Yelp
The Hey Hey is a good time. Nice people and cheap drinks. The bartender is ultra cool. chabba.
google avatar

Frankie V.

Yelp
The Hey Hey is an AWESOME neighborhood bar! Whether I'm with friends or stopping by for a drink by myself I always leave with a smile on my face. Maggie and Pat have been my bartenders on the occasions I've stopped by, and they are very attentive and knowledgable about special request drinks. (Ask for Pat's Blue Lagoon, you won't regret it!) I love the Hey Hey!!

Yelp
Just had the fried chicken livers. Amazing. My iron is soo high i'm about to turn in to the incredible hulk. Always impressed with the chef's.

They have Angela Theado (The Coup) cooking! Of course I am a fan. SaurKraut Balls, what?!?!?! Yum Yum.

Yelp
With a name like Hey Hey it's hard not to like this place. Lots of beer choices by the bottle (displayed in a glass case) and a few on tap. There's ample seating in the bar area and a large space in the back with electronic dart boards, etc. $1 surcharge for credit card usage. Diverse crowd, great jukebox. And fun fact: apparently, it's been a bar since 1900 even while going "underground" during the prohibition era.

Yelp
Yay Yay it's the Hey Hey! This place has been here for ages, mostly untouched. Now you can find the COOP cooking from its kitchens on Thursday - Saturday nights. I also hear she has brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. They're two separate businesses that facilitate each other, though, so don't think of it as "the Hey Hey has food now" ... think of it as "hey, you can get COOP at the Hey Hey!" Make sense? Subtle differences. I love that I can walk here. It's unassuming, full of regulars and a sometimes-surly staff. The beer selections are not plentiful, necessarily, but you'll find something you like. There's usually a Great Lakes on tap, I think. Last time we went, someone in my group wanted a cider and there were at least four different bottled options, including a ginger cider that was pretty good. I prefer the Hey Hey a little more in the wintertime. It's dark and snuggly, not bright with a patio. Oh, and they're SUPER strict on IDs. Every time I've been in, they've been sticklers about checking. Make sure you have yours!
