Twin Cities’ Biggest Restaurant and Bar Openings, July 2025 | Eater Twin Cities

"A large Tex‑Mex restaurant that reopened the iconic Ferris wheel in Northeast Minneapolis and replaced the shuttered Betty Danger’s, offering dishes like queso fundido, elote dip, tacos, a smash burger served in a crispy flour tortilla, plus breakfast tacos and burritos during weekend brunch. The vibrant space—heavy on pink and red hues with flowery wallpaper—can accommodate up to 400 guests across indoor and outdoor sections, and the dog-friendly mini-golf course has returned." - Jeffy Mai

This place is definitely an experience. The service was great, the food was decent, but the prices? Let’s just say my wallet is still in recovery. I can think of 20 taco joints nearby that are tastier, cheaper, and won’t require a small loan. That said, the ambience is surprisingly nice. And just when I thought I’d seen it all, boom there’s a mini golf course and a Ferris wheel. But tacos somehow taste better with mild amusement park vibes. Worth checking out once for the novelty, but I’ll be getting my tacos elsewhere next time—preferably without the side of financial regret.

Absolutely LOVE this spot! My mom & I went for an early lunch soon after they opened. The service was amazing!! Props to the hostess Al for making our experience that much better! She’s great! And so is the food! Elote & potato taco for the WIN!! Can’t wait to go back with the girls & see what the nighttime vibe is all about. Highly recommend.

My friend and I came here and were blown away by how CUTE this place is. We the elote dip was great, tacos were pretty decent. Only real complaint was it did take awhile for our server to come greet us, and to check on us. Food did come out very fast, we didn't try any drinks but water is served in a jar and was room temperature.

So much fun! We came for happy hour on a Wednesday, bringing my 90 yr old mother in law along with me, my husband & my sister in law. We shared margarita pitchers & appetizers, with great service from Blake (so kind & friendly!). We all loved the ferris wheel ride- such a treat how long they let us stay on! Wrapped up our fun night with a round of mini golf. We'll be back!

I had been here the last time I worked in MPLS. It was still Betty Danger's back then with all of the Christmas décor. I'm glad whoever took over decided to do an eclectic "Pink Pony Club" theme. I met some friends here and we had a reservation in the Garden Room, which is half-inside/half-outside so you get the best of both worlds. You get a free game of mini-golf from 4-6 during Happy Hour if you buy a cocktail, but we've all been sober for quite some time and mocktails don't count. The Happy Hour deals seem pretty good, except my friends are both Vegetarian. They had plenty of options on the regular menu. Just like when it was Betty Danger's, the food was okay. We each got a Taco Combo which saved more $ than ordering à la carte. The Vegetarian tacos were decent, and the Pork Rib taco was good. However, I do not recommend the Fried Chicken Taco. It was soggy, overfilled, and way too salty. The chips were also quite stale and the salsa, guac, and queso were overly-salted. The mocktails were not worth the price tag. They do have some NA wine I'd be interested in trying if I ever came back. We went somewhere else for dessert. Honestly, we came for the vibe. The ferris wheel can be added on for $5 per person. That, and all of the photo ops made the trip worth it.

First time there since the reopening as Tipsy Tacos - our service was good, the menu is ok - nothing really stood out. Had Margaritas, which were fine. The queso and tacos were good but same as you’d find in other spots in the area. It’s a big space, with the outdoor game areas and lots of indoor spaces. We were there late afternoon - if you’re looking for an evening destination - other reviewers probably would give a better impression.

We went to Hey Y’all today for lunch after seeing it on TikTok, and I was so excited! The decor is absolutely adorable—pink with a Texas twist—which made my Texas heart so happy! 💖🌵 Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the hype. We ordered the taco flight, but were disappointed to learn you can’t swap out just one taco—you have to get all the same kind. So we chose the Barbacoa, and I wasn’t a fan. The sauce tasted more like chili, which really threw me off. We also tried the Austin queso, which was definitely the best part of our meal, and the Birria tacos, which were just okay—the consommé didn’t have much flavor. I ordered the Hey Y’all margarita, and for $14, it came in a small glass and lacked flavor. The outdoor mini golf area looked deserted, and when we first arrived, we were given a brunch menu—which I hadn’t seen on their website—so they brought us the dinner one instead but either way it’s not a very big menu. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, but overall, the experience just wasn’t that great. For the price and the food quality, I don’t think I’d return. Super cute spot, but the vibe didn’t carry through to the food or value.

Google
Visited for their grand opening event which seemed to have a buzz. Definitely a mixed experience, but overall disappointing. Food and drinks never showed up and even asking 4 different people didn’t make a difference until I spoke to the general manager who offered to comp the meals which was a nice gesture. The food we did get was pretty great as well as the one cocktail we did receive. I think it’d be worth checking out once they work out some of the kinks but so far it doesn’t seem to be prepared to handle heavy traffic. Prices were what you expect so not too crazy so expect to easily spend $60 a person including a drink.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this spot! It's so cute inside--such a fun and welcoming vibe. I had the Carnita Tacos and the Elote dip with chips, and everything was delicious. The flavors were on point and the presentation was just as good. Definitely recommend if you're in the mood for tasty tacos and a great atmosphere

Yelp
I feel like I should point out that I never came here when it was Betty Danger's so I don't have any kind of before/after comparison. When we came, all our food was really good. And we tried a lot! We each got two tacos and liked them all; my favorite was the Fried Chicken. Most of them have house-made soft corn tortillas that are really good and fresh. We also got a Queso Fundido which also came with those corn torts, as well as fresh chips. I don't know how most people eat that Fundido stuff, but I needed a fork to scoop a forkful onto my chip or tortilla. It was good, and it also came with some decent bottled sauces. We had a banana pudding cake for dessert that I LOVED; it's meant to be shared unless you're kind of dangerouly into eating large volumes of dessert if you know what I mean. Our service was outstanding! We were waited on by Al, who was very funny and friendly, and sincerely enthusiastic about the food. I would absolutely recommend asking to be seated in Al's section, but failing that I liked everyone else that I interacted with as well. Getting the Taco Combo is a good idea, considering how much tacos cost separately. You get two tacos and salsa/chips, but for an extra dollar they add a good-sized serving of perfectly-cooked rice and beans. We didn't get to try the ferris wheel or the mini golf when were there but they are kind of fun features. Cute decor with lots of selfie stations, but I will return just for the service and the food.

Yelp
I got things to say. Overall it was a great experience. Ally was our waitress and she was incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Told us about the chefs (shoutout Sergio and the Oscars!) and even the owner came up to us to check in. He really wanted me to leave a review and made a comment about how there were too many 1-star reviews... We got the Hey Y'all frozen margs ($14). Not much of a tequila guy myself, but these were pleasant! I don't know if I would really want to spend $14 on a marg of that stature again, though. For an app we got the elote dip and THAT was amazing. Fresh, thin tortilla chips that were *chefs kiss*. The ratio of chip to dip was pretty spot on too. If you are going to get 2+ tacos, you might as well get the Taco Combo. 2 tacos of your choosing and you also get chips and salsa. We upgraded to the beans and rice for a $1 and that was well worth it. For my tacos I had the SmashBurger and the Pork Rib taco. The SmashBurger is exactly how it sounds.. a smash burger patty on a taco shell. It was good, but if I want a burger I'd probably go somewhere else and get a burger. Still good! The Pork Rib was crazy good and loaded with flavor. That was hands down my favorite. My friend also got the Fried Chicken taco. She thought it was pretty good, saying the fries were an interesting take and it had more of a chicken-fried steak taste to it. Overall, really great time and we even got a free round of Mini Golf in because of Happy Hour! (Hole in 1 on hole 2 btw) Something that needs to be made clearer on their menu is the Happy Hour menu. Apparently, it only applies if you are sitting at the bar and NOT at a table or high top. So clarify that with your server before ordering anything. Would definitely come here again, but maybe not on a hot day like it was today and probably just for drinks and apps.

Yelp
Hey Y'all took over the old Betty Danger. They still run the Ferris wheel and mini golf outside. Decoration inside is cute with lots of little chandeliers, a mini phone booth, lots of animal statues, a full bar... The menu itself is not too big, so it's easy to pick an item. Tacos are a la carte around $8-$10. They do have a combo option with 2 tacos and a side. We didn't get any this time around but there were some that sounded good. Service was pretty slow even though it wasn't packed. It was pretty warm inside as well. We ordered the salsa flight, it was ok. None of them were spicy. The pico could use a little salt. Also got the elote dip. It was really sweet and creamy. Would have liked it to have more kick. We ended up mixing the salsas with the dip and it was much better. We also got the loaded fries. Probably the best thing we got. Good portion of bean and olives for the fries. Drinks were ok. The margaritas just tasted like regular margarita nothing special. Small portion also. Wish the drinks were a lot stronger for the price. Overall, go try it once. Support to keep the business in the area. Nothing I would go out of my way to try though.

Yelp
Tacos were good and the service was good but it did seem a bit unorganized with different menus not matching and the frozen drink machine not working. It also seemed like it could use a little sprucing up which is odd considering it was new when I went. I do like the decor but it's definitely designed for women. A bit overpriced but our server let us play mini golf for free so that made up for it. The Ferris wheel was fun and only cost $4-5 per person. I'd maybe go back in the evening when it's dark and sit out on the patio for drinks but I'm not sure I'd recommend it for a family dinner.

Yelp
Sergio seriously outdid himself with the tacos. Every bite was packed with flavor--the seasoning was on point, and the tortillas were super fresh. My absolute favorites? The elote and potato tacos. Unreal. I added rice and beans to round it out, and honestly? The beans might've stolen the show. The margaritas? Top tier. The signature Hey Y'all frozen marg is my go-to now. I also tried the Nightmare cocktail--super tasty, bold, and balanced. Let's talk disco fries. If you love fries, don't even think twice. It's a fry lover's dream--cheesy, crispy, rich, and completely addictive. Shoutout to Elle, our server, who was absolutely amazing. Attentive, efficient, full of great recommendations, and genuinely made the night better. She went above and beyond. The ambiance is a whole mood--like if Pony Club and Cowboy Carter had a baby. Bold, stylish, fun, and just the right amount of wild. Also--they're doing a Pride Drag Brunch soon and I cannot wait. This place was already a vibe, and now it's turning into the spot. Already planning my return. Hey Y'all is killing it.

Yelp
I read the reviews and we decided to try it anyway, but sadly this will be one of my lowest reviews. Not because of the food which was actually very good, but because of everything else. First of all let's talk about the challenge of finding the entrance. They have a nice parking lot which is a wonderful thing in NE Mpls! But the old entrance in the logical front of the building is an exit only. The actual entrance is in the back but everyone comes around to the front and then they get disgusted that they now have to re-walk back to the lot and all the way around. There should be some large signs on the fencing around the miniature golf area with an arrow pointing to the correct direction of the door. We were seated in the garden room and had to use the QR code to order and to pay. No one comes by so you can ask questions about the menu or customize in any way (which is fine) but even at the end you need to go get your own takeout boxes from the little cart in the room. And when you order it asks for the tip amount and defaults to 20%. I'm all about tipping for service but you literally only see someone when they bring out food from the kitchen. And something about that ...we had multiple people ordering from our table (separate tabs), but when they came out they didn't know who ordered what they were bringing out even though you have to enter your name when you order and sometimes they didn't even know what they had in their hand. This meant a couple of us ordered beers but they didn't know what kind they had in their hand. Things like that. Not great :( All of that being said, I will say that the food itself is tasty. The guacamole was generous and high quality. The salsas are about $2 each for a small plastic cup but is decent quality. The chips are OK as well. I got a side of the Rice & beans which was good and we had the Double decker beef taco which was cheesy and tasty! My mom had the Rib taco which was good but as mentioned in the description had a pork bone in it that was about 2 inches long and an inch wide. Just stuck in the middle of a taco? Why?? My mom almost broke a tooth on it. When we went over to the hostess stand and asked the server about it she said it was in the description which is true. But when we asked why and wasn't that sort of risky her response was "to each his own"....what kind of a response is that!? And we weren't being argumentative just asking. It was an unfortunate experience overall especially given that the food is pretty good. Unless some things change I worry they won't make it.

Yelp
I'd like to say I'm aware I went during the grand opening (5/3) so I did expect it to be busy and for there to be a few issues but that being said 2 stars is the best I can do as far as MY EXPERIENCE. In short: we ordered dip, elote dip- waited nearly 2 hrs never got it. Wrong orders came to our table a few times. The waiter at one point admitted he put the wrong order to our table. Also ran out of some of the limited menu food items (great for them!) but couldn't keep up with the few items they had left. After wasting 2 hrs on false hope that our order would be out soon we had to find somewhere else to eat (which is hard these days because even bars are closing at 9pm). Longer version: We arrived around 6:50pm, we had reservations for 7pm, which we were asked to show proof of the reservation at check in, not sure if they didn't have their reservation system together or what. We were sat at a booth in the main room right away. Surprisingly it wasn't filled to capacity, like there were quite of few tables open but as time went on they quickly filled (see pics). The patio had a few empty tables and the room that Betty Dangers used to use for events and brunches was way more spaced out, so less tables - it looked a bit full. When we sat down I overheard the larger party next to us complain that no one took their order yet. Not sure how long they had been there at that point. We were given cups and water and told someone would be with us shortly. The menus were limited as far as food, the drink menu had more options but you could only order from those menus- no mods or open bar (for now). When we were able to order drinks we opted for the "Hey Y'all" slushies. We were told that they may be sold out and that he needed to go check. But when he checked his wallet pad he seen it was available and put the order in. Drinks came right away. He came back a bit later and asked if we wanted to order apps at first we said no but then decided since we had started drinking that we should get something started (we were waiting for 2 more people to join us). We put in an order within 15ish minutes of being there. We ordered the elote dip and I attempted to order the fried chicken taco but it was sold out. Again the menu was limited and I don't eat beef or pork so very slim pickings. The other 2 people came around 730ish. The waiter came back 10 or so minutes to take their drink order and they ordered guacamole. Again, drinks came out right away. At this point food is coming to our table but it's not what we ordered. The waiter comes by and says our order is coming and reads it back and reads off tacos and all these other things we didn't order. He then realizes he put the wrong order to our table. The larger party next to us is still complaining that they haven't received any food yet either, also same issues with the wrong orders going to their table. We are now over the one hr mark at this point. Our drinks are empty but it's hard to keep drinking on an empty stomach, also it was getting so chaotic with the table mix ups we were never asked if we wanted to order additional drinks or anything else. The guac finally makes its out. The guac that was ordered 30+ minutes AFTER the elote dip. We had already started making plans to go get food somewhere else since we weren't feeling the limited menu & wait times. We are about 1.5 hrs in and the waiter had passed our table several times without checking on us. I had to call him over to cancel the dip and bring our check. For 15 or so minutes he's standing near the bar, still running around, when I asked for the check I already had my card in my hand ready to pay. He finally returned and apologized about everything and explained he was waiting for his manager to adjust our check and would come back as soon as he could. We ended up getting out around 8:50pm. My thing is I want to give grace considering it's new, it's on brand to be a guaranteed "hot spot"- it's cute, has a patio, the Ferris wheel is going, who doesn't like tacos? My thing is almost 2 hours of my time was wasted for having false hope that an APPETIZER is coming. 30-45 min wait for dip, fine but almost 2hrs?! no!!! Plus the stress of trying to find other restaurants open late after just sitting there waiting and waiting. The guac was good. The drink was fine. Others enjoyed the drinks (they got "all my exes"). The decor is cute. Parking is pretty much the same vibes as when it was Betty Dangers. If there's no spot in the lot, there's street parking. I would like to go back at some point and give it a fair shot, maybe I'll wait until winter though. I will update my review accordingly.

Yelp
First time here with friends for lunch. I was never here when it was Betty Dangers, so unsure if decor inside and outside is the same. We shared Elote chips and dip and salsa flight. I also ordered a Barbacoa taco. These are pretty small. You get 1. The water they serve you is warm. We walked around and took pictures afterwards of pink vow, horse, zebra, and gorilla and Bison outside. Waitress forgot my Corona NA. Of course, no mini golf or ferris ride until 4 pm. That would have been cool. It was fun having lunch with friends.

Yelp
This place has so much potential to be awesome and it was very disappointing. The food was quite frankly, not edible. I will say the queso was decent and the drinks were ok but we didn't exactly come for hot cheese and chips. The service was also pretty rough, they have a QR code system so you order without talking to anyone and they just have food runners essentially. You're also paying beforehand so if anything is not up to expectations there is zero room to get a refund, and I got the sense they don't care to offer you one anyway. It was just truly a poor experience. The place is SO cute and has great potential but we won't be back.

Yelp
This restaurant has such a cute vibe and love the concept, but it does have some improvements that need to be done. The food was good and service could be better. I've been here a couple of times, but each time they have improved and will probably check it out again in a few months to see how things are!

David L.

Yelp
A great place! The food was spicy but good. And don't get me started on the service, it was amazing! The ambiance was amazing! 5 stars!!!!!!

Yelp
Went here mid afternoon on a hot and steamy Saturday to cool off at the bar. First time back since the ownership and name change. Service was friendly and good. We had the double decker taco which was fantastic with chips and salsa. House margaritas were pretty good as well.

Yelp
Quite possibly the rudest bartender I've ever experienced. The bar was completely empty and he made multiple comments about how our group was too big, only let us order if we closed out right away, and was overall condescending. The waitress when we walked in said to the host "tell them to order at the bar because I'm done." They were open for 4 more hours so no reason to be so rude. Definitely do not recommend this place, especially with out of town guests.

wilhelm y.

Yelp
Walked in on a Saturday with 4 adults. Street front entry is locked, no signage directing us to the rear parking lot entry. Another diner from inside directed us. The lot is messy, weeds everywhere. Walking in the parking lot entry we are greeted by an old deflated party balloon display wilted by the entry door. A harbinger we should have noted. The manager was confused and incapable. When asked about seating and a service dog he was lost. Once seated we looked around. All outdoor spaces are unmaintained with weeds in every crack and fixtures in need of service. We waited 20 minutes without being able to talk to another human being then left. That night the Ferris wheel broke stranding customers until the fire department rescued them. We aren't surprised. Prices high, service non-existent, manager incapable, facilities rundown and in need of maintenance. Stay away!

Yelp
The food was really good. Our server was really nice but seemed like she was high on something, so that was odd. But overall good experience!

Yelp
Food was delicious, vibes were great. Enjoyed my drink! I had the nacho fries, and shared the salsa flight and guacamole. Everything was very yummy and as a former oklahoman i enjoyed the texas references all around haha. they're def figuring out the ordering process as a new restaurant but everything came out quickly and overall enjoyed our time here!

Cortney G.

Yelp
My friends and I have been excited to see the cutsey new Tipsy Taco since it was announced to be open. We dined here for happy hour and the atmosphere is so cute! It's a shame our experience was ruined by our server Erin K. From the geico she was unpleasant, I as the customer felt like an incredible inconvenience the entire time up until I was ready to pay. I've been in the service industry for 9 years and it always frustrates me to experience a servers poor attitude when they should be making the experience. Don't see myself or my friends itching to come back any time soon. RIP Betty Dangers. ******EDIT****** The server went out of her way to find my Facebook profile, tried to add me as a friend after obviously seeing my review and messaged me. Incredibly unprofessional.

Nicole A.

Yelp
Ugh. This place is ridiculous. We had high hopes for this neighborhood spot but we're just so disappointed by the food, prices and uneven service. We were overcharged for extremely mediocre food. The staff ranged from rude to indifferent to I hate to say it but overly eager. We love the Ferris wheel and it's right in the neighborhood but nope. Never going back and you shouldn't either. There are so many better places! Sorry Tipsy Taco, we wanted to love you....

Hannah Q.

Yelp
SUCH AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE HERE!! This place is SO magical We had phenomenal service. the vibes were unmatched. we loved the food the drinks the staff the atmosphere!! Sergio was absolutely Incredible. He was the cherry on top to the whole experience!! THANK YOU so very much we will definitely be coming back again and again and again!!

Sam Z.

Yelp
We loved it! Came here for my brother's birthday and they threw in an entire cookie skillet (which was piping hot I'll have you know) for free! We got a few taco bowls which were quite excellent and the smash burger taco was so Texas and so awesome. We loved the spice on the food! Our waitress was also very sweet! It was clear she had not been there long so there were some mishaps such as food being brought to the wrong table but the passion and kindness of the staff shone through so this place had a lot of potential! It is very pretty inside and we enjoyed the Austin feel! The rib taco was a unique twist as well and I enjoyed the spice! I wish it had a little more seasoning the meat, but the bbq sauce was awesome and spicy with jalapeño's! But eating a rib on a taco was certainly fun. I will be back to try the drinks! It wasn't perfect - but the kindness of the staff and the uniqueness of the food is good! I hope they continue with unique options in the future and keep this as their calling card along with good service. Unique items are what I think they will succeed with and so go in and try something fun!

Yelp
So bad! You order on your phone which is fine but all of our entrees came out before our appetizer and then lastly, our drinks arrived. My margarita was the only decent part of the whole evening. Carne asada was green and really disgusting looking. Fried chicken taco was horrible. Ferris wheel closed before we could ride it. Food runners didn't understand table numbers... they kept bringing us other peoples food. Ferris wheel was cute tho!

Tina G.

Yelp
Inside and food was AMAZING!!! Celebrated my birthday with my friends and wanted to enjoy the outside on the Ferris wheel and maybe be enticed to play some mini golf... but, not so much. We were able to ride the Ferris wheel only because we life and said we never rode it, and then only could twice around. There was no one selling mini golf. Folks were walking away when they saw the outside was dead. We noticed it was the manager holding the party back. So sad. We would have stayed for hours.

Mike W.

Yelp
Great service, fun drinks ( loved the Nancy Drew and Jack & Tom). Chips are amazing and we all loved our tacos . Sergio, the chef, came out to check on us and ask how we liked it. When he heard we were celebrating a birthday, he sent out 3 free desserts, which were fantastic!! We will definitely be back! Now, on to the Ferris wheel!

Daniel B.

Yelp
Cool vibe and great service! The food was delicious and the tacos contain very large portions of meat/veggies. The $14 for two tacos + chips/salsa/beans/rice is a good deal. The desserts were very good too and were enormous.

Olga S.

Yelp
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. From start to finish , our experience there was a disappointment. The place charges for food and drinks as much as upscale restaurants in downtown Minneapolis , but they serve you gas station snacks. The salsa flight and the disco fries were both disgusting. From their look to the taste and everything in between. The mezcal drink was okay. 2 out of 5. I completely concur with the below comment regarding entrance door situation and also the fact that both the Ferris wheel and the putting course were closed because "the operator didn't show up". Also , BEWARE and confirm their operating hours as the ones that are listed on the website are not accurate. They rushed us to pay the bill and leave as they were closing before 10 pm despite the site saying they close at midnight. Also, the menu published online was not the same as the one presented to us at the table. This restaurant was not ready to be open and won't be ready for a while. I suggest you take your money elsewhere. We paid over $60 for 2 drinks and two apps. Next time, I'd much rather go to McDonald's.
