"Some combinations just work. Like Steph and Klay or BART stations and urine stench. Or soup, sandwich, and salad combos in office-heavy neighborhoods that actually need them. So, people of FiDi, meet Hey Day, if you haven't yet. Most importantly, meet its $11 lunch special. You can choose any small salad, soup or half sandwich for $6.50; combine any two for $11. Like the salad bar, you can get a couple different flavors, but at least here, a professional is curating for you. If you nicely ask your server, they'll spoon multiple salads into one container to get diversify your lunch even further. There are about a dozen options daily, with a frequently changing menu. Everything's fresh and healthy (or at least feels that way) - think beets, lentils, faro, kale, etc. You won’t be needing that George Costanza desk nap at 2:30. Heyday is an excellent respite from the usual pay-by weight salad bar below your office where you can never decide what theme salad to make and always end up with some monster Chinese-chicken-Cobb-Southwest-Greek hybrid. And that's why we're telling you about it. In a sea of mediocrity, this is just about the best reliable lunch option we've come across in the area. At Heyday, nothing looks or tastes like it’s been sitting on ice under a sneeze guard for 4 hours, and that alone goes a long way around here. Food Rundown Raw Kale Salad Oh hello toasted sunflower seeds. Thanks for coming over. Have you met my friend avocado yogurt dressing? You guys should get to know each other. Green Lentil & Cabbage Salad This is so healthy, it counts as going on two runs. Just shake your Fitbit a bunch while eating. Moroccan Chickpea Salad Super filling, if you’re worried about getting hungry mid-afternoon. Sometimes a bit heavy on the oil/vinegar if they’re getting to the bottom of the huge Heyday serving bowl. But some people are into that. Fra’Mani Mortadella Sandwich We wish they never changed this from the killer salami, fennel and parmesan sandwich of yore, but still a nice, little Italian sando. Meatloaf Sandwich The cold meatloaf sandwich might raise some eyebrows, but trust that with the peppy chimichurri on top, this little guy will not disappoint." - Calder Silcox

"In most parts of the country, or the planet, an $11 lunch “special” is more of a rip-off than a deal. But lucky us, we live in San Francisco and we have to pay all the money in exchange for the ability to see Alcatraz and 90 pairs of Allbirds on a daily basis. Heyday’s lunch deal is one of the best there is - mostly because you get a lot of very good food that’s also pretty healthy. The menu changes often, and there are always several things to choose from. Don’t pass on the kale salad." - Taylor Abrams, Jess Basser Sanders, Will Kamensky

"The $11.25 lunch combo at Heyday is healthy, quick, and one of your best options for a not-too-expensive meal if you work near the Financial District. Go for the raw kale salad - it has a great avocado-y dressing." - Taylor Abrams, Will Kamensky

Disappointing experience. Staff was friendly and the cash-less payments are great, but if you're going to charge Starbucks prices, you have to be able to match the quality. Ordered a house blend coffee and a mocha latte. It took the batista asking 2 people for help and still both drinks weren't up to par. Could be a good café with more practice

Good healthy lunch spot. They even offer MealPal now which is awesome that just pick it up without having to wait online.

I’ve tried a variety of salads here and am always satisfied. The ingredients are fresh and the flavors are complex enough to never feel bored with a salad. Chickpea is my favorite! Highly recommended. One note to management, please improve the training on your menu ingredients. Today I asked if a particular salad (looked up name later – sage pesto) is vegan and was told yes. It is not. I spoke clearly and it wasn’t very loud, so I don’t believe it was a communication issue. To be fair, all of the ingredients are listed on the menu. Unfortunately the menu is very difficult to read (because of font, spacing and colors), even when you are at the ordering counter.

Happened to stop by Heyday last week to pick up lunch. As a vegetarian, I was happy to see a good selection of healthy options. I chose s Moroccan chickpea salad and a lentil soup with red beans. Both of them were excellent for a reasonable price. The ambiance is sparse but nice. Worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood.

One of my favorite financial district lunch spot! healthy and fast! I love their smoked trout open face sandwich and their kale salad! It is on the pricier side a little for how much you get, then again it is quality food!

Heyday is great for a quick and healthy lunch. It's tucked away on Spear Street, so there's not really any lines to wait in if you're in a hurry. Their food is mostly local and sustainable. They have vegan and gluten free options as well. I was really excited to eat here and they lived up to my expectations. I've heard people complain about the prices here, but I didn't mind paying $10 for a healthy meal that also tastes great! I will definitely be coming back and definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who works in the Financial District and is tired of paying $15 for a salad at Mixt Greens :P

Good little lunch spot. Sweet Potato salad is delicious. The limited menu keeps the line moving and you from brain-freezing when it's time to order. The sandwiches only look small. A sandwich and salad ($10) is plenty for lunch.

Yes.....its good and healthy, but I’m not a breakfast guy and Lunch to me is very much is like my main meal. I just can’t spend $15 and 2 hours later I’m hungry again. How about fill me with healthy stuff to hold me up to dinner time. The idea is there, but what’s missing is satisfaction!
