HG Coal Fired Pizza (Chesterbrook)

Great Pizza. Will keep comming back. But the dinning area looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in days.

I came here for a team lunch when traveling for work. My husband and I shared slices of: - Honey Mustard - Cheesesteak - Chicken Bacon Ranch - New York - Spicy Taco The honey mustard was hands down my favorite. The sauce was delicious. I wasn't a fan of the chicken bacon ranch. It had a different style crust (cut square) that I didn't like as much. The rest of the slices were also good. If you're looking for a quick lunch in the area, this is a good choice.

My favorite lunch spot when I work from the office - nice easy walk on a good day from the Chesterbrook campus. All the flavors are great! I wish they did have a meatball option for the coal fired pizzas. A reward system would be a cool perk too.

Excellent pizza. I ordered the New Yorker. Crust was light and crisp. Toppings tasted great. A very good slice of pizza. I will be back.

The pizza we got was genuinely bad. We took a few bites and gave it back to them without complaining and were going to leave, when the guy who made it asked what was wrong with it. We told him we thought it tasted gross and he proceeded to say no one has ever complained and was just super stand offish about it. He begrudgingly offered to make us another but we declined and left because it was uncomfortable. Wasted money.

The pizza here was pretty good, and the location was convenient in relation to my hotel at the embassy suites. The building was clean and tidy and the staff were able to get my pizza made quickly. I would go back on another visit to the area for sure. I would not say it is the best pizza I have ever had but it was pretty good.

Unless you’re buying slices or actually sitting down to eat do not order from here. Called in an order for a simple salad a half an hour before my lunch break, was told it would be 20 minutes. Showed up 30 minutes later and was told they didn’t have my order in the system at all. Poor management or poor phone training either way bad service.

My boyfriend ordered two pizzas one with pineapple and another plain coal fired for his mother who's vegetarian. The person taking the order on the phone asked if the coal fired had sausage and he reiterated it was just plain. When he went to pick up the pizza did have sausage on it and the person at the counter was a little accusatory about the order sausage until he explained it was for a vegetarian before making a new pie. We usually have a good experience here and the food is good so hopefully this is a one off situation.

We got a pizza and salad to go and it was great! The pizza was quality and fresh, great temp. The salad had a lot of great toppings and crisp lettuce. Would go here again.

Ordered several pizzas and two small salad trays for a team building event, and it was great. The salads were actually extremely well liked by the team while the pizzas met the mark. Did not get the coal fired pizzas, fwiw.

Placed an order over the app. Specifically called the restaurant to make sure that they brought napkins and forks. - first the guy on the phone couldn't find the order, then he calls me back after he found it. Told me he would make sure I got utensils and napkins. Order shows up with nothing. Called the restaurant, instead of apologizing... He blamed the delivery service, whose fault it was not. Customers always right. Take your business elsewhere. - food is mediocre. Didn't try the salad, no fork.

Our favorite place to go after games at YSC. Lots of slices to choose from and different than a normal pizza shop, though traditional slices, too. I like their specials, too. Fast and friendly service!

We've had good food from here, with one or two times where there was a glitch with an online order which delayed our pick-up. However, my review is for a recent order, which had a very burnt coal-fired pizza. Since it was a pick-up and we didn't notice till we got home and started eating it, it was not worth our time to drive back to see if we can get a different pizza. I know coal-fired pizza is cooked directly on the oven floor, so it does get very crispy; but 90% of the bottom was burnt black, so we reluctantly ate 2 pieces, since we needed dinner, but couldn't eat the rest. I would try this place again, but maybe not get the coal-fired pizza, or maybe specify that we would want the pizza without a burnt bottom,

Had the meatball Parmigiano hero and teaser salad they were both great. I would go back

Their pizza is is superb! I've been ordering from them since they opened and have never had a bad pie.

Yes food is always on time hot and very good friendly people I recommend this place 100 and wings are alway good

This is our local go-to pizza place (Chesterbrook location). My kids, ages 6 and 7, and their friends LOVE their cheese and pepperoni pizza. Me and my friends are obsessed with their avocado pepitoria salad with house dressing! If I could make any suggestion, it would be for improvements to their desserts for that special Friday when we eat at the restaurant after a long work week. Other notes: They are always friendly and I appreciate I can also walk to Rite Aid while waiting. This is a fantastic pizza place for picky pizza eaters and for a mom who wants a damn good salad. This is not a romantic date night place.

Another fantastic turkey club sandwich (salad instead of fries) and a great pizza. I'm pretty addicted to the turkey clubs. And my son is addicted to the Neopolitan cheese pizzas.

Pizza is good. Subs are very good as well. yummy. Subs came quick very full could only eat half. Took the other half home for later. Recommend

Excellent customer service extremely low quality product. I called the restaurant to order wings and pizza. I asked what is the spiceist wing sauce they have and he suggested a garlic sweet chilli sauce. I went with it. My pizza order was a large coal fired green pepper and sausage pizza. We were told it was 1 hr for delivery and that was fine. The oder came within the hour and we got green pepper and onions pizza. I was shocked as my kid has onion allergies but the delivery guy was awesome and he immediately called the restaurant and they got me the right pizza within 20 minutes. Now to the quality. 1. The pizza that came was over sauced, literally no cheese and felt like it was just a hurried job. 2. The wings were extremely sweet and had no flavor or spice. We threw away almost all the food as it was the worst experience in terms of quality.

Great food, great staff. Pizza, sangoa, u name it, happy you shall be. Get the ny coal fire style!

Food was outstanding and arrived hot but was over 20 minutes late for a luncheon so had to take 1 star away - not sure what the issue was as we placed the order a day in advance to avoid issues!

definitely the best take out pizza in the area. My go-tos are the Coal Fired Margherita & the Coal Fired BBQ Chicken. Would recommend!

Went with a large group tonight. Called days ahead to reserve space. Sat down at 6 and we spent a lot of money. at 645 a 15 year old employee told us we needed to leave because they needed the tables. Half our party was not even served. I asked to talk to the manager, they refused. The actual manager told me he was a delivery driver. The staff was beyond rude but honestly the pizza is not good. In Philadelphia area, good pizza is not hard to find. This was generic. Bad service, rude staff, bad food. Go to any any strip mall Italian joint and get significantly better food. 1 star because you can't select zero stars

Me and my family had a few things here. Most of it was good except for the Mac & Cheese and chicken fingers. I had two slices of pizza...taco and chicken both were very good and fully of flavor. My woman had the upside down cheese pizza(cheese on the bottom sauce on top) we both agreed though different from our normal pizza it was really good and a decent flavor. Our daughter had the Mac and cheese with some chicken fingers. The Mac and cheese wasn't good just cheese on top of noodles with no real flavor. The chicken fingers were ok at best but kinda small... So honestly if your going for Pizza this spot should be good cause they do have a Good variety of pizzas and styles of pizzas but some of the other things tread lightly

We ordered a coal fired Margherita pizza with salsicce to be delivered to our hotel room. When I was ordering I specifically asked for silverware and the server offered to give us plates as well. We were disappointed to find that we simply got pizza with no utensils or plates. We scrounged up some paper towels to wipe hands on. The desk clerk told us later that they never bring utensils even though they promise. The pizza was good, not the best I've ever had, but it was cold. The desk clerk told us that the restaurant was literally right around the corner. My advice- eat in. Don't get delivery.

Visiting friends that recently moved from GA to PA...found this little joint on yelp. Pizza was okay. Buffalo chicken cheesesteak was enjoyed. Got a side salad -it was just average but the blue cheese dressing was odd-tasted like mayo with blue cheese crumbles added.

My family lives near by, we order from here frequently. The food is always ready fast and consistent. Pick up/delivery is reliable. There is a wide variety of options on the menu and everything has tasted good. We have been ordering here for years and will continue to do so.

Pizza always fresh and excellent especially the coal fired Specialty pizzas are also fantastic

Woah! Was staying at a nearby hotel and saw this place was close. I checked out the menu and said yeah, but checked with the woman at the front desk and she gave me two thumbs up. I ordered a large White Chicken Pesto with Sausage. 20 minutes later I was picking up a fabulous meal. It would've been good just as a white chicken and pesto pizza but my adding sausage sent it through the roof. The chunks of chicken and sausage were plentiful, no skimping here. They sell slices also which is a treat because not all good pizza shops do anymore. Big variety/selection.

Stopped here on a whim while in Chesterbrook yesterday, solid slice of pizza. I went with the taco slice and the cheesesteak. I've never had taco pizza so I was intrigued. I will say the taco was far superior than the cheesesteak. They advertise coal fired but I don't believe the slices were. They have 2 different ovens. That was a bit of a bummer. The taco slice was delicious though. It was like I was eating a taco. All the toppings were fresh and delicious. Especially the nacho cheese sauce. I was a bit skeptical, especially about them warming up lettuce. It was solid. The cheesesteak on the other hand wasn't as good. I didn't care for the steak, it was tough and the American cheese was a bit too much for me. If I were in the area again, I would stop back in. They offer a wide variety of slices. They also have a nice size dining area.

HG Coal Fired is hands down the best pizza in the area! These guys never let you down. Also highly recommend the cheesesteak.

The food here is amazing! We got the traditional coal fire pizza and it was so tasty. The sauce is amazing and the crisp of the coal fire is great. We also got the chicken caesar salad. The chicken was grilled very nicely and tasted great. Lastly we got the cheese fries. They forgot the cheese on it but the fries with ketchup was good regardless. Will be coming back in again next time we are in the area!

When we moved out of the city, I thought I lost the convenience of getting a solid coal fired pizza (from Pietros). Then all of sudden, thanks to Yelp, I found HG. HG is decorated with a clean and modern look - and, honestly, I think of something more rustic or stereotypically Italian looking when it comes to having good pizza. PUMP THE BREAKS..... I am a changed man because HG's coal fired pizza is out of this world, especially if you get thin crust. Regular crust is just fine as well, but the thin crust is something special. In addition to the pizza, we've had hoagies/grinders, wings, bolis, and calzones -- all of which were great. The staff are all super friendly and polite... always a plus. Every time I've gone there (Chesterbrook location), it looks busy - yet, they are efficient and the food is always ready when expected or delivered expeditiously. Signs of a well-run operation. They also have discounts for veterans, first responders, and seniors - I'm always too reluctant to ask for the veteran's discount but SUPER appreciate when businesses offer it.... so, if anyone from HG reads this review, many thanks to you all!

Pizza is great. Chicken Pesto panini was a bit dry. Clean and staff is friendly. I would be willing to explore the menu more.,

I preface this review with, I was really in a bad mood. This was not my first choice. I really had my heart and mouth set and ready for a different pizza in a different town...you know how that is. That being said, the pizza here is pre-made and sitting out on display for you to choose from. I had a square-ish pizza with cherry tomatoes, what looked like broccoli rabe garlic and cheese. F had a traditional slice of cheese pizza. We sat down in the large dining area with our pizzas after they had been heated in the oven. I have to say we both thought the pizza was really good. Great, light and crispy crust, nice flavor. It did hit the spot. I will probably never be back, but if I lived in the area this would be a place I would frequent.

Lazy to cook, so we came here for dinner. It didn't disappoint us. We got the margherita pizza. The crust was perfect not too thin and crunchy. A little too much cheese, but that's just me. We also ordered cheesesteak. I think it could have a little more meat. It looked pretty sad. Will definitely come back and try other stuff.

My girlfriend picked up from here tonight because they recently decided we were out of range in Phoenixville. Picked up two personal pizzas and she purchased tiramisu and strawberry shortcake. Come to find out there is literal MOLD in her tiramisu, absolutely disgusting. They are over employed and can't have a single person check their refrigerated goods for MOLD. Completely disappointed.

The food and service are totally amazing. They serve the absolute best Chicken Ceaser Salad! Great sandwiches, pizza and chicken wings. I love this place. It's a nice family environment. I would highly recommend!

I ordered 25 buffalo wings and I only got 21. And guess what... the majority of 21 wings were covered in GRAVEL. My neighbor was walking his dog the next day and the dog found the REST OF MY WINGS IN THE BUSH. Oh and I also ordered the Tiramisu and there was EVEN MORE GRAVEL in it. Terrible service, terrible food, terrible restaurant.

This has always been a great pick for lunch. You can order pizza by the slice or of course a whole pizza. There's also great salads here too! We constantly order here when lunch needs to be brought in for meetings at work. They are always early and we've never had issues with the wrong order being brought. People from out of town always ask where it's from and typically order again for dinner one night :) If you decide to sit down, you'll order when you walk in and then seat yourself. It's a great place for a quick meal, but is always freshly made food too!

This is the best pizza place I ever had by far this side of town. Great friendly service fast delivery definately will become my regular place to order. everybody needs to try this at lest once

Highly recommend the secret menu item: Chase's signature salad In the unlikely scenario that an employee doesn't know what that is tell them a hector signature salad with chicken, avocado, and spinach instead of arugula

We eat here at least once a week. I usually don't eat pizza, but this place has me sold! I love their thin crust pizza and their tomato sauce is delicious. Staff is always very friendly, there are plenty of seats and the place is clean. Great addition to Chesterbrook.

HG is the best!!! Whether you grab take-out, need pizza delivered or want to sit down for a meal, the options are available, convenient and quick! Their service is great, they have never messed up our order (and we're picky!) and there's not a bad item on the menu. They have both coal-fired and regular pizza and both are SO DELICIOUS! Fresh tomato sauce, so cheesy and the crust is crispy, yet fluffy... it's perfect! We also love their cheesesteaks, mozz sticks and chicken wings. Their facility is so clean which is important right now and makes us feel comfortable. If you haven't tried HG yet, we highly recommend it!

Best pizza in the area by far. Don't even bother with anyone else. The margarita coal fired pizza beats everything in the area..and most of philly. Trumps anything from new haven ct as well (the so called pizza capital). Could use a bit of organization at the register area for pick up but worth the annoyance of no one really knowing what's going on. Tastes great fresh AND cold the next day! Highly highly recommend

Ordered delivery and the food was really good and delivered fast. Ordered included - wings- came with grilled onions and a garlic butter sauce. Tried the steak and cheese Stromboli- and pizza. Everything was hot, nicely presented in take out containers. They have easy online ordering. I see why they consistently get great ratings. This Will be my new delivery spot.
