The Most Exciting New Delivery Options In Chicago - Chicago - The Infatuation

"The team behind Au Cheval and Gilt Bar launched a delivery-only sushi spot that’s operating out of High Five Ramen in the West Loop. The menu is short, offering only the maki special (your choice of three rolls and tamagoyaki), or the special deluxe (three rolls and tamagoyaki, plus seaweed salad and taiyaki). There are about eight rolls to choose from, including salmon, yellowtail, crab, and the surf and turf made with wagyu and fatty tuna. Like most of their restaurants, quantities are limited and waits are long, so plan accordingly." - adrian kane

This is hands down our favorite sushi spot—we’ve been coming here at least once a month for over 3 years and have never been disappointed. The quality of the food is always top-notch, and you can truly taste the care that goes into every dish. The head sushi chef/owner, Tommy, is incredibly friendly, and his passion for sushi is evident in every bite. If you’re visiting, you must try the Sapporo salmon sushi—perfectly balanced with marinated onions and bonito flakes—and the sushi spring roll. However, as you can see from the pics, everything is delicious! You won’t find flavors like this anywhere else.

We travel around the country on both work trips and for vacation. Hi 5 Sushi did an excellent job with the fish, the service, and experience overall. It’s Easter Sunday, we got an amazing meal served extremely well by smiling people. 10/10 recommend

Google
Woah! This little place is fantastic! Went for lunch (beware they do take a break from 3-5pm) and I am certainly adding it to our rotation. The place was clean, very friendly staff and the food was tremendous!! Food tasted very fresh, I'll be back!

Google
Yes all the reviews are correct....amazing sushi in Chandler. 1st time in, I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures of the rolls. Alissa brought me a yellowtail nightmare roll that I may not of ordered without her....so glad she did...very flavorful! Very friendly service and excellent quality sushi, she did a great job even though they were very busy. Tried the standard rainbow, also delicious. Finished with spicy scallop nigiri. This is my new sushi restaurant in town. 2nd time in, craving the yellowtail nightmare, got pictures this time. They were not busy at noon on friday, Alissa served drinks, soup and 1st roll within 7 minutes. Nightmare 5 minutes later. I read some people were unhappy with service when they are busy. 1st of all, its totally worth the wait. 2nd they have a qr code, feel free to place your order for faster service when busy. 3rd....oh my goodness everything is so fresh and delicious. I got through half the yellowtail nightmare before I remembered to take a picture. My compliments to Chef Tommy! Great job everyone! Update, everything is still fresh and delicious. Linh took great care of me this time. They offer small beers now, I suggested it last time in, and they accommodated me. Finally brought my wife in. She enjoyed her Sushi on Fire. I went with the usual. Tommy always serves it up fresh, Nick took good care of us. I really like this local sushi restaurant, great energy and really great sushi! Tako Yaki was delicious, tried salmon bomber for the 1st time also since she only eats cooked rolls. Everything here is always fresh and appetizing. Service is always fast and friendly. Thank you Tommy and Linh!

Google
Chandlers Hidden Gem!!! “We tried every local sushi restaurant so you don’t have to (post)” and this was the best sushi in Chandler AZ! The service, the rolls, freshness and atmosphere were all spectacular. I highly suggest the garlic Parm edamame, Hi5 Roll, any form of nigiri (Seared Tuna or Albacore Binche Maguro), Salmon Bomber, AZ Roll. Being a sushi aficionado and CA native, my wife and I have been searching for a place that serves high quality sushi and am glad we found Hi5! 10/10 Highly Recommend!! ⭐️

Google
Service was excellent and sushi was above average. The sushi was all fresh, well made and looked great. The rainbow roll was great. All the nigiri had large portions of fish. We wouldn't get the yakisoba again. Too many vegetables made the sauce watery, not enough meat. The tuna belly is misleading, the chu-toro in the menu shows a picture of delicious tuna belly but that isn't what was delivered, 😢 I should have known it was too good to be true. A little higher priced then some other sushi places but not bad at all

Google
I had high hopes because the space is new and clean... Not to be. I had the lunch special for $20. Plate was visually nice. (3) rolls, Spicy Salmon mix roll, California Roll, and a Spicy Tuna. The salmon and tuna fish had a bad aftertaste, and the rolls had way too much rice wrapped. If I come back again, I will not get the special but maybe just one roll. Bummer for me.

Google
Hi-5 has excellent Japanese food. Their ramen has an excellent and flavorful broth and is highly recommended. Their sushi rolls are made with high quality ingredients and are very fresh. Get the fresh wasabi for an extra $2, it compliments the rolls really well. I also like the jalapeño boat that has baked salmon inside. The glazed pork belly is also really tasty. I come here often and the service is always great.

Yelp
This was a great and affordable sushi spot, plus they're right next door to one of our favorite Boba Tea shops, Hi 5 Tea! The sushi was fresh and the appetizers were tasty. The only frustrating part was that they had a $10 off promo if you paid with Google Pay. It wouldn't work no matter how many times we tried. The waitress also had no idea how to remedy it. She could've just offered to kick $10 off just for the inconvenience even if it came out of their own pocket. The ambiance was casual. Not as fancy as other sushi restaurants.

Yelp
For Az ... one of the freshest sushi's I have had. I love when you go in there is zero hint of a fishy smell . The staff is really nice and very helpful if you want to customize your orders. We got the sashimi plate . It had tuna, blue fin , yellowtail, ahi and salmon . And the presentation was so top notch , all for 46.00! Then we had the lobster roll sushi special . The lobster had a slight hint of char to it , the crab was real , not crab stick and the spicy sauce was so tasty and the size of the roll itself was very easy to eat. I would get it again.

Yelp
Drove from central phoenix to give this spot a try and it did not disappoint. Always looking for good sushi and I'd definitely drive back here. We loved all the rolls we got but the habanero sauce on it was very spicy in my opinion so just check as you read what the rolls have. You honestly can't go wrong with anything on there and on the plus side they have a boba store right next door.

Yelp
What a gem! I say that often but this place truly meets the definition. I have thought about this place every day since I've eaten here. I started with the Spicy Tuna Tartar. It was rich and creamy with a beautiful crispy from the rice cup. The Hi-5 roll was one of the best rolls I have ever had. It had a beautifully light and garlicky flavor. We also got the Happy Spoons and how appropriately named. Bites of fresh, flavorful fish with a citrusy sauce. Service was quick and courteous. A cute little spot.

Yelp
This was my first time to Hi 5 Sushi! I'm glad we came because everything we ordered was delicious. Probably the best sushi I have had in Arizona. Everything was super fresh. My favorite was probably the toro roll. The Service was great and the vibe was perfect. I went with my family. There was alot of us but they were able to accommodate us all. I was so very surprised by the ramen. It was very flavorful! I will definitely be coming back! Perfect spot for lunch or even date night.

Yelp
Came here after seeing reviews on yelp and I was very impressed! The service was quick and friendly , and the food portions were huge!!! We started out with garlic edamame and then I got the udon soup with chicken and my friends got a bunch of sushi rolls (pictured below) Ambiance was great with fun music playing. Well lit and trendy. Highly recommend

Yelp
Sorry forgot to take pictures! I was too hangry! Don't hate me. 8 of us went there for lunch on a Sunday. Restaurant is clean and cozy. My friends have been there before but it was my first time. Most of us got the lunch sashimi omakase. 12 pieces of nice thick cut good quality sashimi for $22! Such a steal in 2025! It came with salmon, tuna, yellowtail and seared albacore. We also got 2 garlic butter fried rice to share. Great portion we took some home. I will definitely come back!

Yelp
Fast and friendly service with quality food. Nice atmosphere and a great price. And peaceful with beautiful art.

Yelp
Made another trip to Hi 5, so fresh and delicious! The music is always great and a nice chill vibe. Easily becoming one of our favorite spots. Very kind and friendly service!

Yelp
Overall rating: 4/5 Wait: 4/5 Arrival time: Saturday 12:00pm Food: 4/5 Order: hi 5 premium omakase, hi 5 special ramen Service: 4/5 Price: 4/5 Worth it, would come back Hi 5 Sushi offers a respectable take on the omakase experience, presenting a chef's selection that varies in quality. The nigiri, while generally decent, featured some standouts and a few pieces that didn't quite hit the mark. Their hi 5 special ramen provided a savory counterpoint but ultimately fell short of expectations. While the overall meal was satisfactory, it lacked a certain finesse that would elevate it to the next level. The price point feels appropriate for the quality and quantity received, making it a reasonable choice for a casual sushi outing. Service is prompt and attentive. One could consider Hi 5 a good starting point for a foray into the world of omakase but seasoned sushi eaters might find it somewhat average.

Yelp
The staff is great. Service is fast. Clean inside. Not too many people. Quiet inside. I liked it. The pork tonkatsu was well cooked. The meat was thinly sliced with a crunchy well cooked coating. It came with lettuce and a mayo drizzle. There was also a bowl of rice that came with it and a sweet dark brown dipping sauce. The spicy tuna roll was good. It had eight slices and a mix of ground plus whole tuna. Never seen that before. Pretty good! Seemed fresh. The hi 5 roll was unique and had a lot of flavor perhaps from the topping. I thought most sushi doesn't have a lot of flavor. It has eight pieces. Some booths and some tables available. There were some little gnats flying around inside. Good parking available outside. Table service for orders and paying.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for awhile now due to their high Yelp rating though a couple of my Yelp elite friends didn't have a great experience. I ordered their $23 high 5 premium lunch as hubs promised he'd help me finish it. It consisted of 11 pieces of nigiri and 5 piece roll (spicy tuna). I had to ask the server what the roll was as it wasn't the vibrant red color I expected. She confirmed it was spicy tuna and yep it was:) the nigiri pieces were very generous. I especially enjoyed the scallop nigiri. I would go back just for that. The server was very courteous and provided excellent service. She even gave complimentary miso soup to everyone in the restaurant which was unexpected and appreciated. For what they charge, I think they should include the miso soup on the menu for their lunch and dinner specials.

Yelp
Tonight I was finally able to try this place out. If you blink, you'll miss it. Hard to see from the road. But I was pleased with the food and service. They had a good variety of the house special rolls which I didn't get to try and simple sashimi and nigiri selections as well. The fish tasted fresh and size portions of the nigiri was decent. Definitely coming back to try the speciality rolls next time.

Yelp
Very impressed with the sashimi. I got the Sashimi Deluxe: 4 kinds of 3 pieces of each chef's choice, which is one of their Omakase Lunch menu. It was very fresh and satisfying. The pieces were so huge that I ended up boxing up half of it. This is a first for me. 12 pieces of huge sashimi for $18.50 is an incredible value. The miso glazed pork belly was just ok for me. I just didn't feel it was tender or flavorful enough. I like to eat the pork belly with the onions on the bottom to cut through the richness but most were burnt. The presentation was great on a sizzling cast iron platter. Service was very attentive and it's a very clean comfortable spot. This is a sushi restaurant and I am so impressed with the sashimi that I'm giving it a 5 star.

Yelp
The sushi here is great. It's kind of an out of the way spot in a little shopping center. The service is great and the vibe is casual. It's a high value sushi place, too. Portions are good size and the fish is high quality. We loved their variety of toro.

Yelp
Solid place, nice decor, ill fitting music though. Was in and out in 15 minutes as a solo. Had a California and was above solid. Gyoza had a superb grilled flavor to it! Karagge was aight, nothing special Was mainly here for the ramen -Broth was lacking flavor -Noodles were strange, made out of egg but they had a different texture which was dope -Egg was upsetting -Meat had a nice seared taste to it. Wouldn't come back for the ramen, but it seems like they excel in the sushi department

Yelp
Great food and service. I love the sushi and sake options. They have fresh sushi and I enjoyed it!

Yelp
I was nervous last Monday when I saw "Under new management" The Rolls are even better!!! Great service, EXCELLENT Food

Steven S.

Yelp
FOOD POISONING!!! I am on the toilet right now with a horrible bout of food poisoning. These 5 star reviews must be purchased because my date and I last night couldn't even finish the food. We took 1 bite of the sushi roll and 2 bites of sashimi and we could tell by the smell and the taste that it was rancid. They still charged us and now I'm dealing with food poisoning and I'm extremely dizzy. AVOID AT ALL COSTS - lastly the waitress was very rude

Christine L.

Yelp
Great food but a little pricey. Restaurant was clean and good service. Would recommend

Yelp
What a delicious sushi place! The menu is vast, with omakase options for lunch and dinner. I love their omakase. Who can resist fresh fish? I love getting their Two Sake Omakase and a Hi 5 Roll. Great service always and excellent food for the price. Interior is modern with plenty of seating and danceable music.

Yelp
It pains me to write this review as I was hoping to find a new sushi restaurant. When will I learn ...if a Yelp friend gives an unfavorable review listen up! Well I wrote it off as it's a year old review and they've been around for a year so it's l likely to be better. Nope!!! Arrived and stood as instructed waiting to be seated for almost 5 minutes. No problem we're not in a hurry. Once seated another 5 minutes for the waitress to ask if we wanted anything to drink. It's 115+ degrees outside so we asked for water. Several minutes our water came. Another 5-7 minutes went by she took our order. Ok this is where it starts to really go down hill. My husband ordered the 1 saki entree for $19.00. He said it was ok but inconsistent. I ordered the 4 tempura, seasonal vegetables with rice and my choice of soup or salad. I asked what kind of salad, hoping for seaweed and was told that salad is not an option. Hmmm ok I'll have the soup. Was then told that doesn't come with the meal. I just look at her dumbfounded and point to the menu to show her. She said she'd be happy to bring me a miso soup. 8-10 minutes go by and the waitress brings my husbands food out. Two minutes later mine comes out. No soup and no rice. Before I can mention anything she's out of sight. When she does come back I mention the rice and was told that's not part of the meal. But she'll bring me some. By then I was done with what I was going to eat and told her to skip it. She said she'd be back with more water. So for $10.50 I got four shrimp and 4 pieces of fried vegetables that I didn't eat. Ha if only ...the bill came, no water and husband paid. I'm looking over the receipt and my order rang up for $12.00. At that point it dropped another star as it was already paid and we have now been there for close to 1.5 hours. Keep in mind this is a very small place with two wait staff and wasn't packed. Chalked it up as a learning experience. 2 stars as the atmosphere was clean. We didn't feel like anyone was mean or rude. Just inattentive and too many issues that couldn't be overlooked. My advice....update your menu. You just lost 2 customers who eat sushi regularly. Sadly, we won't be back.

Yelp
The sushi was amazing as was the service. We ordered the Feisty Spider Roll, Sahara Rainbow Roll, Blue Moon, and Hokkaido Scallop. The scallops were our favorite. So good!

Yelp
So bummed I hadn't discovered this restaurant sooner. You surely miss it if you don't look closely as you're driving down Warner - it's in an area with many other shops and dining. Great dining stop for a date night before or after a show or to enjoy a quality family meal. Food: Amazing - fresh, delicious, and immaculately put together. Not very common to find high-quality blue fin otoro, and Hi 5 did NOT disappoint. We had several choices in rolls and sashimi we ordered to test things out on our first visit. EVERYTHING was sooo good! Service: Great - wait person was very attentive, knowledgeable of gluten-allergy accommodations, and friendly. The owner of the restaurant also came out and checked on our experience. Ambiance: Cool - the restaurant itself is small and casual but it is clean and nicely decorated. They also have great music playing in the background at a decent volume to enjoy but still have conversations.

Yelp
Yep, there's a reason why this place has 5 stars. Came back because I was craving some of the sushi we had the first time we came over a year ago. Their menu has slimmed down, but the quality is still so fresh. They may have slimmed down, but you won't be missing anything because they'll make any roll you request, regardless of if it's on the menu or not. We showed pics from our last visit and they replicated it! The chef even gave me a thumbs up when he saw me tasting it. These people are so nice and accommodating, this is by far my fave local sushi spot. I can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Yelp
Hi 5 Sushi took over the Hi 5 Tea original location, but Hi 5 Tea is next door now. If you eat at Hi 5 Sushi, you can bring the receipt over to Hi 5 Tea for 10% discount. We went on a Friday night and it had $2 off on appetizers if we order beer. Beer was also $2 off. Appetizers like IKA Geso Karaage and Gyoza were good, but was disappointed with the size of the seaweed salad. Sushi on Fire had great presentation, but the overall sushi was okay. Chirashi Large was great!! Love the freshness. There were greens and rice at the bottom of the sashimi. My favorite was the Yellowtail Tradito! It has grapefruit and yuzu! They take reservations so call in for a large party. Great customer service! Very friendly and attentive to our large party and table.
google avatar

Marie L.

Yelp
Being a native Californian and half Japanese, I have pretty high expectations of sushi (sorryyyy) and I was excited to try this place based on the reviews during our visit. I was nervous because it was in a strip mall but the inside was very clean and very nice. We ordered the Philly Roll, Spicy Tuna and the Blue Moon Roll. The first two rolls were fine but the Blue Moon Roll's tuna on top was very discolored. It was brown when fresh tuna should always be bright or dark red. It did not smell fishy which was good which is a tell tale sign of bad fish but it was definitely not fresh and was oxidized hence the color change to brown. We also ordered an udon which was okay but the broth was a little lacking in flavor and the noodles lacked the chew-y texture of good udon noodles. I love supporting small businesses but overall it was meh, a nice place with great service but some room to improve.
google avatar

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Food was really good and service was awesome! Restaurant is really roomy, modern, and clean. Definitely will become a regular here! Highly recommend. My boyfriend and I came in pretty last minute and they were super nice about it. Our waiter was super chill!

Yelp
I haven't said this in a long time (at least not to someone other than my wife), but I think I'm in love. This place is amazing. The Mobster Lobster was probably the best roll I've ever had. Not only is the sushi fresh and thick, but the restaurant is extremely clean and the staff is amazing. Thank you Eloy for making my wife's birthday so incredible. This will be my new go to sushi place.

Rebeka G.

Yelp
This will absolutely be one of our new stops. The food was amazing. The miso glazed pork belly was outstanding. Right from the first bite I started my happy food dance!
google avatar

Winnie L.

Yelp
Pro-tip: Apparently they are in the process of changing their menus so some of the items aren't accurate like the sake Omakase dinner doesn't come with miso soup anymore, but it's still on the menu. Highlights: Overall, the ambience is nice and the fish quality is high. I feel like they give of a good amount of fish on the nigiris as well as the yellowtail Tradito. I think the specialty rolls are fairly priced because of the size of the rolls. I would definitely recommend the Omakase dinner set. Lowlights: The service is just so-so. When we walked in, it took a bit for someone to acknowledge us and even after they sat us, there was a delay in getting menus and water. I think they could use a hostess. They have a lot of rolls listed on the specials menu, but there's no description on what any of it is. Most of the rolls on the menu seem very repetitive like everything has a shrimp tempura in it.
google avatar

Andrew L.

Yelp
Craving sushi but live in the suburbs around Gilbert/Mesa? This is a clean and unique restaurant with genuinely good sushi. The premium stuff is a bit pricey, but it helps if you order items on the happy hour discount menu. The requirements when we went were $2 off select items if you order a beer. We also were able to call in to reserve a spot.
google avatar

Joseph L.

Yelp
Been here probably 30 times. Super consistent and super fresh every time. Their rolls are unique but they also do an awesome nigiri omakase board. Owners are really nice and super good service
google avatar

Kelly T.

Yelp
So glad we decided to finally come here!! For my birthday dinner all I wanted was good quality sushi and I found it! Listen if you're wondering whether it's worth coming here, just do it! Don't be deceived by the small building or the bubble tea next store (unrelated) as the sushi was probably the best I've had in a really long time. I can't wait to come back and try everything else on the menu! Restaurant is clean and super cute. Eloy was great and had wonderful suggestions and was very attentive! Hats off to the chefs as they produced some outstanding food!!

Yelp
Holy... Sssshhhhhhh oootttt This place is straight Fire!!! First off. The aesthetic is just fabulous! Super clean. Really simple but well done. Inviting. Warm. And bright. The staff... absolutely amazing! Seriously. They were all so nice from the moment I walked in the door. I was dinning solo and they all engaged with me, introduced themselves, and made me feel very welcome. So awesome! Next. The food!!! Just wow! Seriously the reviews are on point with this spot! Some of the best edamame I've ever had! The rolls super fresh, clean, and delish! I went on a Saturday at 8pm and it was so quiet! I sat immediately! I don't understand how this spot isn't packed with at least an hour wait! But hey. More for me hahaha Hopefully I can make it back before I leave! I'd highly recommend!

Yelp
Service was super slow and the sushi was ehh. Didn't get a water refill once in the 60 minutes I was there.

N T.

Yelp
The food was delicious (Hi 5 roll, yellowtail nightmare, sashimi, mango soju) - very fresh, and the rolls were creative. The service was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The owner Tommy came out and chatted with us. Great experience!
google avatar

Tia T.

Yelp
Decided to stop in on the way home for take out. No busy on a Tuesday night. There is parking in the lot out front. I walked in and was greeted by Alyssa, such great service. She showed me the specials and give great chit chat as I ordered. Very clean and cute Layout, my sushi was ready in less than 10 minutes. I got a crunchy roll, spicy yellowtail, and miso soup. Can't wait to come back and sit down. The sushi is delicious, the spicy yellowtail isn't super hot. The jalapeño gives a little kick but nothing crazy.
google avatar

Molly S.

Yelp
We were really excited to try this place because of all of the great reviews. We didn't think it was that fresh of sashimi or sushi. Definitely doesn't make our top local sushi places. I didnt like that the menus were falling apart and that they only had a few of the sushi rolls listed. The rest of the rolls were just listed on the wall so you weren't able to see all the ingredients of them, without having to ask the waiter.
google avatar

Janetth I.

Yelp
The food is always great. The sushi is fresh and the fish is always top of the line. The food tastes great, the service can be a hit or miss depending on who your server is.

Yelp
Sushi Fact: People were able to use sushi as a form of currency. Sushi was once so highly prized that people were allowed to use it to pay taxes in AD 8th century Japan! I hate to give Hi 5 Sushi three-stars as I am a HUGE fan of Hi 5 Tea but I gotta keep it one-hundid. This place did not deliver. I came in while they still had their 20% off special so I ordered the takoyaki and the Two Sake Omakase for $26. The takoyakis were soggy. Even when the takoyaki was fresh at the table, there was no steam to make the bonito flakes dance. That should have been an indicator of how the meal was going to go. Let's be real and admit that the fish ain't cute. All three of my tuna pieces were three different shades of red. The albacore (and most of the other fish) was also super dry. My salmon didn't seem very fatty and lacked that fresh cantaloupe smell. All-in-all, I was pretty disappointed. I really wanted to love them because I think the owner and staff are great. I love their tea concept but I can't get behind their sushi. :(
google avatar

Kassandra L.

Yelp
What a surprising gem this place is! We were really impressed with the quality of fish and the size of the rolls. Our server was great and recommend delicious rolls. The place itself is small but doesn't feel crowded. If you're a fan of fresh sushi, this place will make your taste buds happy.
google avatar

Kris S.

Yelp
The staff was amazing. Recommended several items we'd never tried and they were truly over the top! Place is clean, service was friendly and quick. We're here for only a couple weeks, but will be back before we leave.

Yelp
4.5/5 stars but rounding up because the spot is new, and service was great! Stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday around 11:45 and we were the only two there at first. The employees were friendly and I noticed how nicely decorated and clean the interior was. We each ordered a roll and the Hi-5 ramen. Prices are more than fair --$5 for a non-happy hour California Roll and the rolls are fairly large. The ramen was good --the egg was beautifully runny. The pork was decent and the other components were also good. The broth was not too salty and had good flavor, although I felt as though it was missing some depth. However, considering the lack of solid ramen spots in the area, Hi 5 would be my first choice for ramen. My friend said the California roll was good and my Salmon roll was also good, but had a tiny bit of fishiness and was a little softer than I would have liked. But for the price, can't complain too much. All in all, Hi 5 is great and I also can't wait to try the tea spot opening up right next door. The prices are fair, the interior is cute, and the food is good for the area.

Yelp
Fresh & delicious with great service. Our go to sushi spot. The portions are generous and their garlic fried rice is one of the best you'll ever have.
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
The reviews were great so thought I would give it a shot. I ordered the Omakase (this is the best of the best at any sushi restaurant) and a Sahara Rainbow Roll. Overall it was good - not amazing. But honestly for most people this will hit the mark. I eat sushi almost every week so my expectations are higher than most - I accept that. Will I be back? Probably not but again I have a high sushi expectation. So my 3 star maybe a 5 for you. The staff were amazing and service was very good.

Yelp
We came here for Sunday dinner during their soft opening. Heard a lot of good things about the place from some local people and we would love to have another go-to sushi place, so we came to check it out. The place itself is modern and clean. The manager was clearly eager to make sure things were running smooth, but I think overall there are a lot of kinks to work out. Our wait time wasn't long to be seated and the place was full when we arrived. We got our menus and placed drink orders even though there is no place on the menu that lists the beverages or their prices. Less than a minute later, our waitress arrives and wants to take our order. It's a brand new place...maybe we could have some time to look at your menu? She obliged politely but it should have been our first sign. On further inspection, they were clearly understaffed with only 2 servers and the manager trying to pitch in. When she finally came back to take our order, she couldn't answer any of our questions. The menu really wasn't very well-written with descriptions. What's the difference in size between the small entree and the large? How much sashimi come on the sashimi salad? Is the soup with the entree a miso soup? Oh by the way, at dinner you don't get a soup or salad with your meal included with the entree order even though it clearly states that it's included on the menu. Only at lunch. Nearly every sushi place I have ever been to includes the miso soup, but what does this Japanese girl know?! We ordered a lot of food for the 4 of us because we wanted to have a good idea of how this place was. This included items from sushi bar and the kitchen. Yet another glaring rookie error for this restaurant. All our sushi items came out and 20 minutes later the kitchen items came. Our appetizer came 20 minutes after the entrees. They need to work on timing their food right. As far as the food itself, the special rolls were delicious. We tried the Dynamite Bomb and Blue Moon. My husband ordered a nigiri of Cajun Albacore and enjoyed that. My daughter had the shrimp tempura roll and that looked decent. So some of the food was good. I ordered the sashimi salad and it was a huge disappointment. The server told me it was 12 slices of sashimi but that's not what it was. The joy of sashimi is to have pure fish. This was more like a poke with mashed up bits of fish smothered in some dressing plopped over some greens. No daikon at all either. I asked for a side of steamed rice. This was the kicker! A sushi place can't make good white rice. It was dry, crunchy and terrible. We were really looking forward to the soy glazed Pork Belly, but it was delivered to our table long after we had finished everything else. We ended up eating a couple slices and boxing it up to go. I doubt we will come back even though maybe things will improve, but it seems like basic things to the sushi world are a problem which indicates inexperience to me. Overall, the serving staff needs better training on their menu, the menu needs to be accurate and clearer without the need to reference another page to figure out what's on it, the food needs to be timed better with coordination between sushi chef and kitchen. Here's the best example of how bad our experience was. Paying our bill...the server asked how was everything? I answered not that great. She just turned and walked away. That's the sign that this is not a place to patronize with our business again.

Yelp
Food was good but the night we went it the service was not so much. The ambiance was nice but I think because it was so busy combined with the service it was overwhelming. Lol. We did go in on the weekend during dinner time.

Yelp
This place MAKI me so happy! Lol We love the way they ROLL... First off the fish was so fresh and melt in your mouth like butter under the AZ sun! Sushi craving satisfied. Great quality fish and rolls were not stuffed with rice. Shashimi were perfectly sliced and topped with yummy toppings to make the perfect bite each time. Great flavors and in-house made sauces. The star was the fresh wasabi which added the perfect kick to each bite. Service...what can I say except very friendly and attentive staff. Dishes were cleared as soon as we finished each plate, drinks were refilled multiple times, and sushi was coming out faster than we could eat. Last but not least the ambience for lunch was very relaxed. Beautiful murals on walls and very clean environment. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch and good conversations. We'll definitely be back for more! Pro Tip: come early at opening times to avoid rush of crowds coming in for dinner or lunch.
