Yum! I’m a pizza lover and psyched this place has opened up in a sweet spot in the Mission (Valencia + 25th, 2 blocks from BART). The pizza is as close to NY as I’ve had in a long time. The slices are big and you can fold and eat them! I have had 3 so far - margarita, a white pesto pizza with tasty asparagus, and a margarita piled with arugula. We asked for arugula and got a generous portion of spicy fresh arugula. Small selection of wine but that’s ok - I had a rose and it was crisp and dry. Tons of beer and cider on the menu. Large casual bar seating as well as tables and slices available.

The pizza flavors and crisp bottom are just wow. The beer options are very solid, not going crazy but all the flavors you prob want (they have Pliny on tap!). They have tv’s for sports (lady sports too!). This is prob going to be my weekly game watch/ snack spot. All the food esp the salads and pizzas looked excellent. It’s def a bar vibe - so if you want more cozy date night, Angie’s is your spot — but it’s the best straightforward pizza / beer / wine / sports watch concept I’ve experienced in a long time. Thanks Hi Hat, I’ll be back!!

Love this spot! Gracious service, delicious pizza available by the whole pie OR just a slice, good tunes, beer and wine—great experience all around! Bonus points for creative events, and alternative to sports visuals on the TVs too!

My favorite new pizza spot - the great beer selection makes it a regular spot for us. We’ve already been back a few times!

We had the Spicy Vodka pizza with pepperoni and it was a flavor explosion. The crust was perfectly crispy and chewy. So good. M

Hi Hat Pizza: Valencia’s New MVP (Most Valuable Pizza) Fresh on the scene over on Valencia Street, Hi Hat Pizza is already dishing out big flavor and good vibes. The space is chill—somewhere between minimalist and “we just moved in”—but honestly, once the pizza hits the table, you won’t care if the chairs are made of clouds or cinder blocks. They’ve got a full lineup: slices if you’re non-committal, whole pies if you’re ready to go steady, and a beer and wine list that says, “Yeah, we thought this through.” I tried the New York-style Stracciatella and added pepperoni for some extra protein power. It was cooked to perfection—crispy, gooey, and wildly satisfying. Honestly? It was better than a lot of pizza I’ve had in actual New York. Somewhere, a Brooklynite hipster just clutched their pearls. And here’s the kicker: I’m not even that into pizza. But this? This had me planning a second visit before I even finished my first slice. Sorry Little Star, but there’s a new pie in town and it’s shining brighter. Hi Hat, you nailed it. Keep the oven hot—I’ll be back.

Google
After searching high and low for quality pizza in the Bay, we came across Hi Hat on a trip to Dolores Park. Unbelievable quality. We got 4 different types of slices, each of which were exceptional. The crust was deliciously thin and crispy, the ingredients were premium, and the flavor was resounding. They were so generous with the toppings, but in a way that didn’t compromise the integrity of the slice. Extremely fair prices for the city and for the quality of the pizza—I’ve paid quite a bit more for far worse slices. I hope they keep it up as they inevitably get more popular. Can’t wait for my next visit!

As a vegetarian pizza snob, it's hard to find good options in The Mission. Thank you Hi Hat for serving such delicious food. I highly recommend the mushroom pizza.

Yelp
Great, reasonably priced slice. The service was friendly and accommodating. The spot is filled with character, historic building, cool art, great music and TVs (with the giants on when we visited). A great neighborhood spot, will be back soon!

Yelp
This is the best pizza I've found in SF (or the bay) in 12 years of living here. We've only gotten takeout so far but I had a beer at the bar while I waited a couple of minutes last night. They have a short but well-considered draft list and a solid double IPA that hit the spot. Really friendly staff. The hi hat burger was also ridiculously good and super reasonably priced. BUT THE PIZZA.. it's fucking nuts, like absurdly delicious. The mushroom pie is *fantastic*, but we've tried three types so far and they're all excellent. If you like a slightly less crispy crust (or if you're going to heat it up at home), they'll do a 3/4 cook which we think is basically perfection. We're greedily eyeing the three leftover slices from last night. So many pizza joints here try to tie themselves to NY, but this is the first I can say truly delivers on that claim. It's not just that though, it does make one think NY but they infuse their own style in a way that just works incredibly well. It's become on of our go-to spots by the second visit. Congrats to the crew that pulled this off!

Yelp
What a wonderful joint! The pizza was most definitely delightful with a great thin crust and the arugula salad was also very zesty and fresh! Their cider was also most definitely righteous and it turned out to be a great hang because the vibe was nice and chill. The service was quick and courteous and the bathroom was well kept, which is a sure sign of a clean place. It is good to see a small business like this flourish! Bravo!

Yelp
Ordered a couple of slices here on the way back to SF since we saw it was a new location! We tried the pepperoni and mushroom pie slice and they both were tasty! Although they were not as fresh as I would have liked, they made up in flavor and the bread was top notch! Service was amazing, bar tender and staff really enjoyed the customers. They all were trying to do the best they can and they were extremely nice. Although I love the simplicity of the bar/restaurant I felt like there was still something missing. A touch of interesting decor inside would go a long way! Overall, great quality NY style pizza at a competitive price!

Yelp
Hopped in here for a second dinner. Was only going to get one slice (vodka and stracciatella), but it was so good we had to get another. Perfectly cooked undercarriage. Great topping ratio. Decent price too ($5.75). Cheese ($4.50) was also solid. Even had some basil on it. Great customer service. Bartender (Anna) was super attentive and friendly. Will be back!

Yelp
Yummy pizza and friendly staff! Both pizzas were delicious. Also really enjoyed the Caesar w/ sesame seeds and hoagie. They had a bunch of beer on tap. Great spot for a big group. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
We found this new spot on Yelp for some late night pizza and we were impressed! It's new to the neighborhood, only open for about a month. The place is spacious and the staff is nice. We got some slices and they were on point. The dough tastes great. I bet their full pizza would be even better since it'll be more fresh. Slices have to be heated up so it's not as hot as I would like it. Overall we'd come back!

Yelp
Nice mellow place with good ambiance, great beer selection and really good food. Bartenders are attentive and the vibe is overall good. Wish more people knew about it!

Yelp
Wow. I used to come to the old Pi Bar. But the new Hi Hat seems way better. I really like what the new ownership has done with the space. A lot better vibe. The walls are light color which helps make the space feel more open and less like a cave. The floor is cork and looks amazing. They are showcasing a local artist instead of a bunch of random beer signs. The bathrooms are also a big upgrade fwiw. And then comes the food. I'm very impressed by the pizza. These guys seem to be hitting it with the New York style. Pi Bar was very good with their NY style. But this is better. I live in LA now and only visit SF occasionally. But I can't wait to come back. LA doesn't have anything this good. I'm also really happy that they rounded out the menu with salads, sandwiches, a burger, fries and appetizers. That was missing with Pi Bar. Then I have to compliment them on the beer and wine selection. Pi always had really good craft stuff so I'm glad to see the new place continue in that tradition. Anyway, really excited to see this new concept take off!

Yelp
Hi Hat is hands-down one of the coziest pizza spots on Valencia Street--and it's quickly become a favorite for a casual night out. Whether you're grabbing a bite with family or catching up with friends, this place has a welcoming, laid-back vibe that makes you want to stay a while. Their Pepperoni & Scallion Pesto pizza is an absolute standout--flavorful, crispy, and just the right mix of bold and fresh. The Spring Arugula Salad was also a surprise hit: incredibly fresh, light, and packed with flavor. Hi Hat offers a great selection of craft beers and wines, solid vegetarian options and the service is truly outstanding--friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food and the experience. You feel taken care of from the moment you walk in.They also feature rotating exhibits from local artists, adding a creative and community-focused touch to the space. If you're looking for great pizza, fresh bites, and chill neighborhood vibes, Hi Hat should be at the top of your list.

Yelp
Well, this is exciting. I had been pining for Pi Bar, the nostalgia about that place was real. Now we have something better filling Pi Bar's space. And the name of this place is a fun whimsical musical reference. We tried four pizza slices: plain cheese, pepperoni, pesto, and mushroom. The plain cheese was definitely best, and may be in the top three slices I've had in the city. Pesto was just ok - the pesto was sort of plopped in the center of the pizza rather than being evenly distributed, which I didn't love. Mushroom was tasty, though the burrata on top was flavorless - just added a lot (perhaps too much) richness. My husband ate the pepperoni and he loved it, he said the pepperoni was perfectly crisp, crust was excellent (crust on all slices was excellent). This spot has a few nonalcoholic beers, sports on the TVs and several interesting menu items. Staff are relaxed and the vibe is chill, nice 80s and 90s music. I definitely plan to watch some Giants games here this season while enjoying Hi Hat's food!

Yelp
Nice spot for a drink with friends, a casual meal, or just to pass the time solo with a beer. I enjoyed my first visit and will be back soon.

Yelp
Hi Hat serves some of the best pizza in SF--the crust is next-level, perfectly crisp and full of flavor. Their cider and draft beer selection is varied and delicious, with something for everyone. The vibe is friendly and relaxed, with music at just the right volume. Whether you're on a date, out with friends, or flying solo, it's a great spot to hang.

Yelp
This review is only for slices, as I haven't had a whole pie (yet). Easily one of the best slices in town, and my personal favorite crust. I'm a back East pizza snob blah, blah, blah and am fairly picky although I will eat any pizza. I like this better than Outa Sight (which is wonderful) and on par with Gioia. Very friendly staff as well.

Yelp
Great NY slices and other food options that match perfectly with the beer and wine selections.

Yelp
I love this place! Hi Hat Pizzeria Bar is one of those spots that feels like a well-kept secret. Great food, good drinks, and a chill atmosphere make it a must-visit. So next time you're in San Francisco, swing by and treat yourself to a slice (or two). You won't regret it.

Yelp
Nice beer selection, friendly staff and excellent pizza. The vibe is warm and welcoming. Happy hour is a deal!
